Roga gives the collector bot a full blooded swing, his whole body vibrates as he hits it with an almighty CLANG! Sadly his blow skids off the bot without damaging it.

Jeremiah aims carefully and hit's it with his shot, only to wince as the bullet glances off without any more effect than Roga's efforts.

It's the hardness that's going to be the killer. :)

The flying robot presses on relentlessly, forcing Raktar to step across in front of the little gnome and try to smash it out of the sky before it can stab anyone else. He hopes that Roga will be able to distract the robot enough from behind to land a clean blow.

Are you sure you want to do that?

So how are you doing this?

Khonnir recognizes you and doesn't resist being carried. Which way are you going, and how are you dealing with the swim at the entrance?

JJ assessed their situation, including the fact that Khonnir couldn't walk on his own and tried to formulate a plan. He started to scratch his head as he worked out the finer details. "Let's see... ideally, we want 2 people carrying him. Other than that, we should take the route previously traveled. At least that way, we minimize encountering something new and unexpected."

"Our biggest obstacle will be getting him out the water passage. I have one idea, but I'll only put it out there if there's no others on the table." He said, wanting to hear the rest of the group's input.

"I don't know if that'll work Dilana, he's a bit bigger than Lancelot," Raktar says. "We can carry him between us easily enough, but maybe we need to look for another way out."

Are you sure you want to do that?

Speeding it up since it is a simple thing in the end.

While his mind is addled Khonnir is still capable of holding his breath for the amount of time it takes you to carry him through the fetid waters at the entrance to the Black caves.

Raktar & Roga between them are easily able to carry the poor man to the Temple of Brigh. The journey to the temple is marked by the townsfolk stopping, staring and looking excited by the return of Khonnir Baine.

Joram Kyte is chatting with a local merchant at the temple when you enter. You recognize the merchant as Sanvil trett a local man who bought several items from you when you last came back from the caves.

Joram breaks off in mid-conversation when he sees you. "Khonnir? Sweet Goddess of inspiration, you found him!".

He looks very concerned as you report on Khonnir's condition, gathering up a study brass rod with a line of small lights running up one side. He winds a large screw at the base of the rod, as he does the lights come on one by one until all are glowing.

Lesser Restoration: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Lesser Restoration: 1d4 ⇒ 4

With each casting the lights dim one by one, you can see in Khonnirs eyes intelligence returning to him. "Joram!" He gasps. "Is it really you?"

"Yes it is old friend!" Joram gives him a warm smile. "These brave heroes went into the caves and bought you back to us!" Joram gestures towards you all. Showing Khonnir who is responsible for his safety.

Khonnir looks at you all. "Raktar, Figgy." He looks closely at those unknown to him, "And those of you I don't know yet. I owe you more than I can ever repay!"

He turns back to Joram. "The robots caught us They killed the others, but when I used magic on them they become obsessed with studying me to discover how it worked? They injected me with something Joram! It's in my head even now, eating at my mind, trying to map the paths that magic uses."

He seems to fade and lose energy, looking around again in confusion. "Val? Where is Val?"

Perception check DC20:

Sanvil Trett has been politely standing and watching as Khonnir is healed, at the mention of Robots he suddenly becomes very intent, and listens for any informtion he can overhear on the technology to be found below torch.

The council is called in. You are given the reward of 4000gp and the scroll of Restoration promised for rescuing Khonnir Baine alive.

What are you all doing now?

I'll update the loot list for you to decide on what you're keeping or selling in an hour or so.

Getting the poor man out of there was easy enough when they went back the same way they came out. The water part also wasn't as bad as he had feared either. It would certainly be worth it to make it out and get their well deserved reward.

Roga, satisfied with finding the wizard, also wanted to get back and explore the underground complex.

He looked at the hill and shook his head, "The torch is still out so there's more work to do. Besides, there seems to be lots of places left to explore. We should go down as soon as Khonnir is safe and reunited with his family."

I'm back and slowly playing catch-up. Thanks for DMPCing Roga. I'll level him up in the next couple of days.

Are you sure you want to do that?

When Dilana & Figgy both speak to Sanvil Trett he looks a little shocked. "Oh, was I that obvious?" He laughs nervously. "I'd love to go exploring, but I'm a simple merchant, not an adventurer. I wouldn't last long."

Sense motive DC10:

Bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 He obviously was too shocked to lie well.
Sanvil is obviously lying. He seems a strong and capable man. From dealing with him you know he understands Technology deeply. He seems to have some unknown reason for not wanting you to know his skills?

Figgy Val nearly cracks your ribs when you give her the good news. Picking you up and hugging the breath out of you, kissing your forehead before sprinting to the temple leaving the door swinging wildly behind her.

When Val bursts into the temple with a cry of joy on seeing her father Sanvil slips out the door in the general confusion.

No one else going to mark anything for keeping on the loot list?

Raktar smiles as he helps carry Khonnir to the temple. His smile broadens as Joram restores the poor man's mind and the wizard recognises him. He sits and patiently listens to Khonnir's report of what happened to him beneath the hill, and nods in agreement with Roga.

Roga looked at the items they pulled out of the metal cave.

The items did not seem useful even if they seemed interesting.

He asked, "Do we know what all these things do?"

He pointed to the hypogun with concern, "What does that do? Inject poison?"

He commented, "If there's money from the sale of these, I would like to buy a battle axe and some powder and shot for my pistol."
