I'm loving what I see in the role-play thread, by the way.

We can't be screwing anything up to bad. He did also say earlier that this Funeral is about 1 year before the actual expedition takes place, and hinted in his very first post in the RP thread that there is a figure, looking for the right people to begin the quest. I think what we have done so far from a RP standpoint is bolster this NPC's hope that he will indeed be able to find willing and able dwarves to begin this quest.

Fair counterpoints. I don't mean to get anyone's back up or telling them they are doing it wrong :). It just felt a little forced and artificial to me at times, between some rather lovely RP which honestly I have enjoyed reading.

I did have a question:

Is it actually true that there are many other important Dwarven locations/artifacts but that there is some preference for the Mithral Throne? That seems like a pretty important thing for us to be aware of.

I totally made that up and would be shocked if it made it into can on somehow. I don't doubt that there are. An culture like the Dwarves is bound to have 'em. But those were totally mine and added for the flavor of the moment.

This is the last chance for your people. For two hundred years, the dwarves have been scattered and leaderless....

It was not always so. Once the greatest empire in the all the world was dwarven. Once the majestic kingdom of Dammerhall was where all roads converged. The whole world came to pay tribute to the dwarven high king and his mithral throne.

You may have made it up, but it seems to me you hit the nail on the head...

Oh, not the Mithral Throne, the other two.

Yea, I guess that is what I was getting at... Dammerhall used to be where all roads converged. Analogous to Mithril Hall in the RA Salvatore Drizzt novels. Retaking the hall would unite the dwarves from all clans, and instead of dwindling away, would help rekindle their growth and kinship... etc...

Anyways, I didn't think you were telling anyone we were doing it wrong Alexander, I was just pointing out that if we were pushing the boundaries, we all seem to be at least pushing in the right direction :)

Have I mentioned this has been great fun?

Now you have. :p

But I agree. Even if I'm not selected, so totally worth it.

This - am new(ish) to pbp, but am loving the RP opportunities it brings! Great format. Great thread!

I think I will retire from the RP thread. It was fun, though.

Wow. Things kinda died here.

Sovereign Court

Oops.

Not casting blame. Just noticed that it dropped from several posts/day to nothing. I'm open and standing at the casket if anyone feels like making their requisite "voice"-heard post with Reginald. :)

yea, noticed that too. I didn't want to bombard the thread with my posts, so I have been trying to be careful...

I'm more or less waiting on the GM's response to my story feat question.

That and no one has reacted to Bjaern so not much to say.

There is a significant amount of kingdom building in this game, so that feat would see a lot of use, I'm sure. You can take any story feat pre-req free, so don't worry about the gp.

This Friday night is the Choosing. Can't wait. :)

I know I'm starting to fret.

I also can't wait. This campaign sounds like a great time.

Lots of great submissions.

Whomever gets picked, it will make for an excellent campaign.

Agreed Ogrim! I think this one will be bookmarked whether I make it or not, I am excited to see what happens with this story.

Today is the day. I'll actually be at work when the decision comes down, so I'll just say now, Good Luck everybody. :)

Good luck to all. I feel bad for the GM with all the great applicants.

Scarab Sages

Here's a list of the characters that were posted in the Funeral thread:

Lothar Graelson - (Alexander Kilcoyne) - Monk
Pravic Stoneblood - (Papasteve08) - Paladin
Bali Tharnhammer - (ReliantLion) - Fighter
Thorin Tharnhammer - (Logan Holt) - Alchemist
Reginald T'jener - (Choon) - Wizard
Grimdahl Tharnhammer - (Darkness Rising) - Druid
Igmar Thornstone - (Sixteenbiticon) - Ranger
Ingrid the Tarnished - (EL Ronza) - Warpriest
Davros Spiritforged - (Jezovuk) - Rogue
Kalderin Tharnhammer - (aptinuviel) - Bard
Ogrim Orecrusher - (Fanguar) - Paladin
Garnak Tharnhammer - (Tourach) - Oracle
Nurin Jarnthane - (Enchanter Tim) - Magus
Myth Tharhammer - (Zelit) - Wizard
Bjaern Tharnhammer - (Cuàn) - Sorcerer
Dolgrin Hammerfist - (Dark Netwerk) - Cleric

I only put the parent class (not any specialties or types). I also didn't split them up by groups. They are just listed in the order that they posted at the funeral. But this should give someone putting in a last minute application an idea of what they have to work with.

I think I'll go ahead and call the recruitment over. I'm no longer accepting applications at this time. Not that we've had any for a few days. :)

The applications are still under review. I should have a list of the selected players up later tonight or tomorrow. Thanks being patient!

Ack, I saw a post from the gm and got excited but it seems I must wait until morning.

I have a feeling a lot of people will feel the same way.

Agreed, I hope it's posted before I hit work today. Not rushing you GM I can imagine how hard this decision is. The decision process is all anxiousness, hope, excitement and dread on our part.

Dagnabit! That's thrice now I've been all "A POST!" ... and no. :P

You so the same to me.

I consider it a civic duty to inflict the pain I feel on others (says the Antipaladin).

Would you consider that lawful evil?

Depends on whether your sence of civic duty aligns with the laws of the land, I guess.

And now to me! Ghaah!

It spreads! I am your doom! Behold! The Venerable bring low the young and virulent!

Silver Crusade

Oh the hopelessness...

Okay. It was extremely difficult to reach this decision, but I have the party. The following characters were chosen:

Pravic Stoneblood
Igmar Thornstone
Grimdahl Tharnhammer
Reginald T'jener
Ingrid the Tarnished
Kalderin Tharnhammer
Bali Tharnhammer

Thanks to all who applied! There wasn't a single character that wasn't worthy, but I could only take a few. Those who were selected, please check yourself in over in the Discussion thread.

Awww well congratulations to those of you who made it.

At least the decision has been made. Thanks, GM!

Dang! Well congrats to those who got in! Everyone had great applications.

Silver Crusade

I tip my hat to you all. I will still watch this thread as I am interested in how it will unfold.
