Okay, a few things that you need to know.
1) No cheating will be tolerated. If I suspect anyone of adjusting die rolls or otherwise attempting to cheat the system, you will be ceremonially slain as an example to the others.
2) If I post a spoiler that is not labeled with your character name, DO NOT READ IT! This especially applies to spoilers labeled "GM Screen," though you may read those that say "Die Rolls."
3) Please try to keep Out-of-Character stuff to the Discussion thread. The occasional [ooc ] is okay, but don't overdo it.
4) I will be going on vacation from Nov 10 to Nov 17 and will likely not have much time to post during this time.
5) I expect similar courtesies from my players. If you are going to be without posting for a long period, please let us know.
6) I will try to check in every weekday, but my life is hectic and I make no promises.

Thanks for actually stating this outright. It seems to swap back and forth in games as whether spoilers are actually segmented by PLAYER or by CHARACTER (i.e. everyone should read them so they can follow along in the latter case, but make sure not to metagame with it).

Present!
Will go ahead and start making final adjustments to gear and such. If I'm not mistaken we lack any sort of full Divine Caster so it would probably be in a our best interests to stock up consumables of that nature. I'm going to try and move some wealth around to get a wand of restoration (with 100 gp component). And a few scrolls of various odds and ends.
WhtKnt,
Ive got a strange question, the Holy Champion ability as written kind of makes smite really bad, would you be opposed to outfit removing the banishing part of it, or making it an optional function? As written, it auto activates and as soon as I succeed/fail to banish something the smite auto ends.
Rynjin |
I've always been a bit leery of that ability too, especially since we'll actually be IN the Abyss...so Banishment effects won't work.
You remind me, I still need to finish up gear. I have about 6k left as I recall, I can spend that on some consumables. I don't have UMD, though.
What kind of stuff do we need?
The Warlord of The Seven Armies |
I'd recommend that everyone have some means to heal themselves. I will do what I can, but I can't be everywhere at once. 4500 gp can get you a wand of lesser restoration, which is pretty solid; or you can get first aid gloves for the same price.
Barring that, potions, scrolls, and wands of weird spells are always a good idea.
Cathryn Dayshaun |
Awesome, thanks!
So far I have:
Lay on Hands (22/Day): Cure's 72 HP on Others or 96 on Me. Also Cures: Sickened, Staggered, Nauseated, Blinded, Curses
2 Scrolls of Heal
3 Scrolls of Raise Dead
4 Scrolls of Restoration (1000 GP Component)
1 Wand of Restoration (100 GP Component)
Cathryn Dayshaun |
Yeahhh, that's one major weakness I have.
What are those boots that give you Fast Healing?
Boots of the Earth?
Rynjin |
That's what I thought they were called. Must not be on the SRD.
They're good for out of combat, if nothing else. I should snag those and a Wand of Infernal Healing so we have a good downtime healing option. Wands and Scrolls generally don't do well for in combat healing anyway.
The Warlord of The Seven Armies |
I have all of the regular cures and up to mass cure mod., as well as a wand of cure mod, a scroll of raise dead, a wand of lesser resto, and first aid gloves, as well as being able to do healing with my bardic music.
I think we'll need to be aggressive and focus fire on enemies to take drop them before they drop us.
That said, however, I thought someone was playing a druid?
Edit: Guess not. btw, the other thing i'd recommend is that everyone have a melee weapon (for threatening) and a ranged weapon (to deal with flying things/mobility).
Cathryn Dayshaun |
I was going to originally apply with a U-Monk 2/Goliath Druid 18 actually, I had him mostly written up. Given things, maybe that would have been more useful, but I ended up making, and applying with, Cathryn instead.
I agree, given our party makeup, aggressive tactics would probably be best.
I should be good on both fronts. Melee wise I'm going with Sacred Avenger. I also have a +1/Seeking/Bane(Evil Outsider) Bow, which I can power up with my Divine Bond if needed. I should point out that, for better or worse, Sacred Avenger gives me and anyone within 10 feet of me SR 26 when I'm wielding it. So, that could be useful or a pain depending on buffs and stuff.
Oh, I ended up burning 6 feats for some Path of War (Golden Lion) maneuvers. I can give everyone (in a 60 foot radius) a constant +5 Morale Bonus to Attack/Damage rolls and on saving throws against fear through the Golden General's Attitude stance (which will probably be my default stance). Just pointing that out for purposes of type stacking.
Valonzo Wescott |
I've got both melee and ranged, but most of the time will be using tooth and claw and spells, but should have good threat range when space and need combine (will be medium to huge dragon in blink of an eye.)
The Warlord of The Seven Armies |
And I'll probably be using a lot of Inspire courage, which is a +5 circumstance bonus to hit and damage, which should stack nicely with your buff, as well as a +5 morale bonus to all saves. I also have mythic Heroism.
Cha'Tima Achak |
I added some relevant info to the bar that isn't the usual AC/HP/Saves/Skills stuff. If anyone else here has special senses (Scent, Blindsight) or weird defenses (Miss Chance, Damage Reduction) you should probably put them there too so we can minimize "Wait, I'm actually immune to X" or "I should have seen that ambush coming because Y" scenarios.
WhtKnt |
Okay, yes, you can forgo the usual stuff in your stat line and use it to track stuff that is easily forgotten (as Rynjin said).
Amarilis Whitewolf |
Checking in.
I got the Boots of Earth and a couple of potions.
Amarilis can do pretty well in melee, and also a couple of ranged damage.
WhtKnt |
I had intended to do so, but everyone seems content to be strangers, so we'll go with it.
Rynjin |
"My parents were sheppards after all."
Minor peeve, the word is "shepherds" (a contraction of "sheep herd[er]").
Though his parents both being Shepards would certainly explain how he became such a badass. =p
Cathryn Dayshaun |
Were there lights involved? This is very important.
Oh, WhtKnt, my Will save is a little high now. I had to (unfortunately) dump my Wisdom boosting item to make cash for the Scrolls+Wand. So it's a +28 now instead of a +29. FYI.
I'm a little confused on the backstory about all of this. For instance, why everyone would be coming here and such. Maybe I read it and am forgetting. >_<
WhtKnt |
You were lured here by the promise of adventure (which really, is the only thing that could reasonably lure you here; wealth or fame obviously won't do it).
WhtKnt |
Currently, you know nothing save that there was a promise of adventure here.
WhtKnt |
Okay, everyone should be updated, now. Tima, I need your HP total, please.
Rynjin |
I wanted to ask for something but I'd already stated multiple times that Tima was just in it to "fulfill his destiny" and the thrill of it, so it seemed out of character.
Though I did think of something that will make our lives easier that would make sense just now.
Rynjin |
So for the stuff I posted, can I request some custom items that'd make book keeping easier?
I basically want healing items and Restoration stuff (and perhaps a Plane Shift style item) with Per Day usages rather than full consumables.
Kinda like the First Aid Gloves, but with charges that replenish. Maybe a Rod or Staff?
WhtKnt |
I'm making ready for a holiday. I will be gone to Walt Disney World from Nov 10 through Nov 18 and will not have access during this time (okay, more correctly, I will have access, but do not intend to check in). If you are playing in one of my games, please excuse the untimely delay. If I am playing in one of your games, please bot me or let the other players dictate my actions (within reason) until my return.

Well, we're doing Mickey's Christmas Party on Tuesday night, after we arrive. Wednesday is devoted to the Magic Kingdom, then going over to Hollywood Studios for the Osbourn Light Show. Thursday is EPCOT and the Food and Wine Festival. Friday is Animal Kingdom with dinner back at EPCOT. Saturday is Disney Springs, formerly Downtown Disney with trip to Disney Quest, shopping, and dinner. Sunday will be Hollywood Studios. Monday we will wrap up shopping and lunch at T-Rex before heading home. The last two days are to allow me to recover (I'll probably check in on Wednesday). My wife has it all planned out and used the Disney Dining Plan so that all of our big meals are free!

Nice!
Despite living in Florida all my life (and being less than an hour from Disney the past year), I've only been twice.
Neither trip was NEARLY that well planned, let's say. The first time we ended up with a Magic Kingdom pass for three days and actually ended up skipping out on the last one. The second was more fun (probably because the first trip I was like 7), but only one day (and we still saw everything in the Animal Kingdom and Epcot at least once).
I hear Epcot is a LOT better since the last time I went though.
So...your experience will probably be a lot better. =)
Careful driving around Orlando. All the snowbirds are here and drive like nobody taught them how (especially on Hwy 44). There are accidents at least once a day on a lot of those intersections.
