Bump

Having caught their breath, the pain from their battle wounds faded, the party makes their way back toward the keep. The way along the moat remains relatively undisturbed by the raiders and so you find your way back unmolested.

You make your way through the stuffy tunnel underneath the keep and back up to the ward, where Governor Nighthill spots you and turns to meet you: "It looks like the mill is safe. I can't thank you enough. How did it go, are you well?"

It went longer than expected. Seemed to last for weeks. I think we need to get paid more at the end of this. Unless we can spill more of their sorry blood. Hutch said with a smile. Its nothing we couldn't handle. Right Sophie? He asked without a thought.

How is the search for a man to stuff that Drakes Head going?

"Oh, yeah, peachie" Payn replies, coming in an Hutch's heels. "Can't wait for more. But we should probably take a nap or something first, yeah?"

Zillyanna doesn't say anything, being very tired and upset at the moment, she just waits for a new mission or a chance to rest.

"It seems most of the people in town are safe, thanks to your efforts, and the ranks of the raiders are thinning. I suppose they found enough of what they came for. You certainly deserve a moment's respite." Nighthill responds, his voice with a hint of relief that wasn't there before.

The moment is harshly interrupted by a thundering roar, echoed by the thunderclap of a lightning stike, and moments later shadowy blue shape passes above the keep. You see just enough to recognize the dragon which has been idly circling before strafing over the fortification and within moments the ward is filled with the panicked screams of the peasants and the shouts of soldiers.

Civilians scramble for safety in the guardhouse and underneath the battlements, while guards ready crossbows and rush onto the battlements.

You all have one turn to react in free order, before i roll init (battlemap is updated)

How to navigate the keep:
There is a set of stairs up to the battlement you can see on the map, moving up one square costs two squares (10 ft) of movement. You can enter the towe through a door next to the south wall (the little scribble on the tower's side you can see there is the door).
From inside the tower you can access the roof, for simplicity's sake 60 feet of movement will bring you up to the roof once you're inside.

"Things went about as well as could be imagined Governor Nighthill. The mill seems to have been a distraction, but I must apologize to the owners when they can be located. It was left quite a mess, what with all the blood and the dead kobolds." He sighs and absentmindedly moves a strand of hair out of his face.

After Nighthill's speech he puts a hand on Zillyanna's shoulder, "You did well back there, when all this is over--." The roar and the thunderclap cut him short as he stares into the sky, his hand instinctively reaching for his pendant. He shakes his head and starts to run for the battlements, heading up the stairs and stopping next to one of the men on the wall. He turns, his hand reaching back for the longbow on his back, as he tries to find the dragon in the night sky once more.

I think I'm right on my place on the map, double move.

Still battling with depression. Hope to be back in a few more days

Sorry for taking this long, health and overwork issues

Zillyanna is distracted, her eyes fixated into a random brick on the wall and her mind still thinking about some kind of snappy one-liner she could've told Hutch to win their argument. She is brought back to the present by Venali touching her shoulder, but the dragon roar soon follows and she runs after the elf, also readying her bow.

"Doesn't matter who won the argument since we'll all die, i guess...", she mutters on the way.

Forgot to switch to the right alias again.

It's all good, health and work comes before play

Low on health and her power at a low ebb, Payn sighs as she looks up. "'Dis I do not need."
For the moment she just sticks close to Hutch, relying on their 'close/far' attacks to support themselves.

Hutch perks up. If he could slay this dragon he could prove his strength. It could also mean a better way too kill the leader of the Chill. Crush him to death with a stuffed dragon head. The thought almost made the grim mercenary laugh.

You up for killing a dragon Sophie? He said with a crazy look in his eye and a wide grin. I hear they can be delicious if cooked in their own juices over a low fire. Or is that pigs. Either way it could be good food for the new mercenary group.

With that he picked up his Halberd and started off to the top of the keep.

FOR DRAGON STAKE!!! he screamed out, forgetting his composure in the mad rush for more power.

This may seem out of character, but how many warriors get to say they murdered a dragon and ate it. The fear that would inspire alone and the story that he ate it while it was living could pass if people got drunk enough. And lets be honest this town is going to need to see AA after dealing with this party and invasion
