Before they follow the "woman" in, Alenaya tugs on Jon-Wyn's and Sa'Kage's sleeves and pulls them aside. She removes two vials from her pack.

"Here, let me put this on your weapons. It's some scorpion venom, from quite a sizable specimen. Every little bit of advantage helps, right?" she whispers.

If they allow it, she applies the poison to their blades before "politely" following behind the others. When Glorio addresses them, she remains silent, waiting for Eris to try and broker a deal. While tempted to try some of the foods, she decides it wiser to play it safe and not partake.

Eris meets Glorio's gaze evenly. She really wanted to address him by his actual name, but for the moment, deemed it impolite.

"We would be looking for Kalepopolis, who we happen to know was last known at this location. Unfortunately we ran into some resistance" - at this point Eris gestures towards snake headed lady - "and this encouraged us to seek you out first to discuss the matter personally."

Just taking things carefully so far

Kage accepted Alenaya's offer, the snake headed lady had been incredibly tough and any edge was welcome in case negotiations went poorly. To begin with Kage was silent, avoiding all food and drink. After Eris spoke, Kage added in a neutral tone, "I believe Kalepopolis has an agreement with you, he probably neglected to mention the depth of our interest... If you are intending to withhold him, I would encourage you to reconsider."

Before the Mantises are led away, Lilith grabs her shield. When Alenaya discusses poison, the Menhir Savant looks at her club for a moment but ultimately just shrugs.

Guess wood absorbs the stuff.

For the time being, Lilith decides to let Eris do the talking, which seems to be her strength.

Glorio picks up a glass of what looks to be a very expensive red, holds it up to the light, then takes a sip. He savors the flavor for a moment, then sets it down while looking at the untouched food and drink. "In distant Vudra, it is considered extremely poor manners for a guest to refuse a host's hospitality."

He lets that hang in the air for a moment, then leans back on his cushion. "If you will not partake of my food and drink, then perhaps you will indulge me as I tell you a little story."

His eyes lose their focus, and he speaks in a languid, dreamy tone. "Picture if you will, a man who had everything. His businesses prospered, his wealth grew beyond that which he could count, and he had all the carnal delights his senses could withstand. He ruled his city, but in secret. The figureheads of the city drew the masses' attention away from his operations and remained ever weak and pliable to the man's orders. And so it was, and remained, until one of those feeble figureheads went and died, leaving no heir but his air-headed bint of a wife. The man's realm became... unstable. The newly-anointed figurehead would not take orders so easily, so the man plotted the means to remove her. Through a stroke of luck, the means of doing so fell into the man's very lap. While the city faced upheaval after upheaval, the man readied for when he would remove the ill-suited figurehead and -- by necessity only -- take power openly to restore his city to the way it was before."

He pauses to take another sip of wine, then he continues. "Then the man learns something distressing. The figurehead has power. She is more than a mere figurehead, and instead is something that may destroy the very city that the man has helped build. He could still move against her, but now failure seems to be a real possibility. He could seek to curry her favor, but then he would become a mere servant and that is not in the man's nature." For a moment, the man's eyes flash into focus and a very real menace shines before they again soften into that dreamy haze.

"So he waits, and watches. Then the day comes when agents of the figurehead comes to collect the one thing the man has that can remove her from power."

He comes back to the present and fixes each of the mantises with a smoldering look. Leaning forward, he smiles with no humor in it. "Please, imagine yourselves in the man's position and tell me -- be honest, now -- what would you do?"

Kage wasn't fazed by Florio's soldering regard. Blandly he stated, "In that situation, if it was up to me, which it isn't, I would hire The Red Mantis to arrange a terrible accident for the ill suited ruler. They would faithfully discharge any prior contracts before diligently fulfilling the new one. This would be acceptable because the man in question would no longer be useful."

Eris taps the table slowly in thought, not really intimidated by the man's pointed topic, before leaning forward slightly, an amused smile on her lips

"Very well, ask and you shall receive, if its honesty you want, then its honesty you get - even if it might fly in the face of good manners."

"If I'm in the man's position, the first thing I do is be honest with agents of said figurehead about what I am, and what my true nature might be, once the deception has been revealed, there is little purpose in keeping it."

Eris gives the man a pointed look. She knew it was probably bad manners to bring up that she saw through what he was, but in her opinion, Glorio only had himself to blame, he had wanted straightforward honesty after all.

"Secondly, as the man I would realise my situation is precarious. What good is a weapon that could remove such a figurehead from power when one risks almost certain failure by using it?. If it was me, I would seek to open negotiations with equally resourceful like minded individuals, that way, should such like minded individuals fail, such a man continues to stay in the shadows undetected".

Eris lets everything hang in the hair for a minute, before sighing slightly, deciding to dismiss the metaphor.

"The Mantis have a significant rule, we do not act on our divine mandate against any of those that are rightful monarch's - prove otherwise - and no matter the status or position, we would treat such a target as equal to any other."

This introduces as weird dynamic though, where we would effectively be splintering or "going rogue" as a Red Mantis if we go after the queen and I don't really know if that benefits us in the eyes of the organisation. Its important to Eris in character since she kinda wants to be Vernai / Blood Mistress level at some future point (but is probably outside the scope of the campaign).

Outside the scope!?!? Certainly not!!

Conversationally Kage added, "She's right and my response is predicated on such proof. Of course if your 'hypothetical' man really is the power behind the throne then, by way of proof, it would be a small matter to change policy in some minor but agreed way."
If it was up to Kage, outlawing the so called Emperor would suffice. Of course that was pure fantasy and he tried to wipe the though from his head.

"Perhaps this hypothetical man could... do nothing? Or rather, wait out the storm and work to preserve his infrastructure. If the figurehead is burning bridges and destroying the city, then there's a good chance that she'll... eventually make a foe that she cannot best. If acting overtly risks the discovery of our imaginary protagonist, then putting himself in a position of power to pick up the pieces sounds less... painful than most of the alternatives I can imagine," Lilith offers thoughtfully. "In this hypothetical man's position, if his resources are truly as vast as you indicate, I would also double and triple check all my options before putting all of my eggs in one basket; sometimes, in a time of crisis, it is easy to miss the diamond in the pile of rhinestones."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Despite her kind being known for their gruff, blunt natures, Lilith manages to sound... almost sagely.

"Good thing we ain't in Vudra," Alenaya mutters, but makes no further comment as the others handle their talks.

Jagen glowers at their host as he finally grumbles, "I think the man should give the agents what they want."

Their hosts' eyes narrow. Finally, Astrid, looking down at her plate, says hesitantly, "I-- I would kill the agents."

Glorio eyes her with a soft smile, then looks at each other mantis. He then looks at Avishandu and there's a moment where they both stare at each other. Eris is able to catch a faint buzzing in her mind, but she cannot hear anything specific.

He studies Eris shrewdly. "Honesty? You remain masked in front of me. And were you to take off the visage of the mantis, would you show me your true form? Guises and disguises are our stock in trade. But, if you must know..." Glorio's form shifts, and his face distorts until it is that of a tiger, yellow eyes glaring at her hungrily.

Eris:

::So, now, what are you? Would you like to learn of your true heritage, or are you a slave to your mantis god?::

He shifts back into the handsome Vudrani that you had first met. "So, you have voiced the many options that such a man has before him. The question, then, is what should the man do?"

His question is interrupted as a pair of servants bring out a large roasted boar and set it down upon the table. They begin carving, and hand Glorio a large slab of bloody, red meat. Then they begin passing out slices to everyone else seated at the table.

"I suppose the question would have to go to the agents. Would they stay their hand if the figurehead were rendered illegitimate? If her authority to rule were rescinded, would they still follow, knowing that eventually her coffers would run dry? Would they take a contract against their very employer?"

I thought it was clear, but Eris ironically disdains the use of her mask and avoids wearing it when possible, so shes probably unmasked to Glorio. His comment still works though, in that she is still "masked" by her Change Shape ability.

DM:

"What makes you think I can deny one or the other? I'm appreciative of the opportunity to learn my true heritage, but that doesn't prevent me from using my skills to progress up the caste of my organisation. Much like how you ruled your city, it would be my aspiration to eventually lead my organisation"

"I think in the case where two people might have conflicting contracts against one another, we might seek to complete both, that way, neither could have cause to be upset" Eris remarks in an amused tone. "Failing that, if we had to choose, the contract that benefits us the most, would be the priority. Outside of the rule I mentioned, nothing prevents anything that you have yet asked."

Sorry for my absence. I've been trying and failing to balance a lot lately. I'll try to keep up.

Jon does accept Glorio's hospitality. No reason to be rude at this point.

"Such a man could try to cut a deal with the figurehead. The man could not go to her before for fear of appearing weak. However, once she comes to him, even if only through intermediaries, she is the one who risks appearing weak. I mean even if she could take what she wants, what would be the price? I doubt this man would go quietly. And his struggle or his death throws as the case may be, could be enough to weaken her for other predators to come along and remove her from power. Neither of them want that. That leaves a negotiation. The man could wrest some concessions from the figurehead. At least make a demand of some thing or service before handing over this thing that she wants so very badly. In this his strength could be shown and he could continue to live to plot and scheme."

"For the next part, because you have been such a fine host, I will allow you this one insult to my faith. The Red Mantis are not base assassins. We do not kill for money. Our actions are part of a holy ritual to give praise to our god. Once we have began the ritual, we do all that is necessary to complete it. To suggest otherwise is a sacrilege and will be punished."

"Now, what would you like, that we can give, for the chosen sacrifice for our ritual?"

Kage:

Glorio seems unaccustomed to not knowing what to do. He seems to be arriving at a decision. As he speaks, he becomes more and more certain of his decision. And deadly serious to see it through.

Glorio again looks evenly at the assassins arrayed at his table. After a moment's more of thought, he motions to his servants who draw heavy wooden blinds over the windows and then scurry out, shutting the doors behind them. All that remains is Glorio, Avishandu, and the mantises.

"I am trusting that we can speak freely. You are correct, you are not base assassins, but a holy order. So let us talk of your faith's one calling. While some smaller minds might call the upcoming topic treason, we can all agree this is merely a... religious discussion." He offers everyone a tight smile as his predatory eyes again focuses on each one of his guests.

He folds his hands together and leans forward. "Your one prohibition is known to me, though I do not quite understand it. In the context of Korvosa, for example. Ileosa is queen by virtue of marriage. She is originally from Cheliax, and is not one of Korvosan nobility. Rule passed to her only because there was no heir when Eodred died and no clear line of succession. Many noble families have seen the deaths of those with rival claims to the throne... your or your associates' handiwork, I presume?

"Does her current position truly make her untouchable? If so, then what about the one person with the authority to revoke that right to rule? Shouldn't that give him a level of authority that would rival even Ileosa's esteemed position?

"You ask me your price for Kalepopolis's head. Here it is: I want Ileosa's head in exchange. I can deliver him to you, because I do not believe you would survive my labyrinth. Instead, I will draw up the documents and have him make his decree revoking Ileosa's right to rule. Then, you may dispatch the seneschal... in exchange for you taking upon the contract for the illegitimate queen. If you need additional compensation, I can most likely arrange that, as well. Because for all your high-minded goals, I know most anything can be bought... for a price."

Eris:

My dear, I like one who allows herself to see both sides, but I expect there are those among your company who will not. If you decide to discuss this offer in private, you may find those who would strenuously object to accepting this most generous offer. Please identify them so their vote can be... eliminated. Do so, and I promise to unlock more of your gifts.

Kage glaces at Jagen before saying carefully, "In the normal course of things field operatives don't enter contracts... But I don't believe these are normal circumstances. Killing her best and loyal naval officers is I suppose her prerogative, but The Queen is openly allowing some low borne pervert to style himself emperor, debasing the monarchy and her own authority."

Turning around Kage asks innocently, "Jagen you know the Vernai best, what would she say?"

I'm expecting that if this is a no-go Jagen will be professional and bluff, but let us know via the secret sign language.

"What you ask is.... highly irregular.... at best. We would be willing to take your offer to our superiors. The problem that I face right now, though, is that we are here for our holy ritual. You alluded to another way for us to do so. A labyrinth? Tell us more of this." Jon considered going for menacing, but realized it would be lost on these beings.

Glorio looks at Jon-Wyn evenly. "I merely alluded to a thought you may be entertaining -- that of bypassing me somehow, finding your way into the labyrinth and discovering Kalepopolis on your own. A foolish notion," he finishes, eyes turning towards Jagen.

Jagen glowers beneath his mask, shaking his head in frustration. To Kage's question, he says, "I cannot speak for the Vernai. But she is traditional, I know that much."

"It is an important decision, I know," he says with just the hint of a victorious smile. "Discuss in private, if you wish. I shall not eavesdrop. Eat, drink, and if you wish the use of any of my servants, they are at your disposal." He stands and with a gesture, Avishandu rises with him and follows him out of the dining hall, leaving you alone.

Astrid yanks off her mask and pops an olive in her mouth. "Well, this is exciting!"

"Damned frustrating, is what it is," Jagen growls. "What the hell are these creatures?"

"Go tell your boss that we accept his offer. Whenever the guy's done issuing those decrees, bring Kalepopolis here as agreed," she says to a random servant.

"No-ones breaking our rituals" Eris remarks soothingly to Jon-Wyn. "The proposal is that we complete our current contract by eliminating Kalepopolis. What we have been promised, is that as a final act, Kalepopolis, with his authority exceeding the queens, proves that she came to power by deception, or proves that she isn't afforded this right, by rendering her illegitimate as a ruler, thus making her a viable contract for us to take on. Taking up the contract on the Queen after this, is conditional on Kalepopolis proving beyond doubt that the Queen no longer falls under our protection". Completing the ritual on Kalepopolis is assured, completing a contract on the queen is conditional to be completed only if it falls within our guidelines"

I think theres a lot of wiggle room here. Glorio has agreed to give us Kalepopolis, this is non negotiable and will be completed first at all costs. Before Kalepopolis dies however, he proves the Queen as an illegitimate ruler (thus making her one of those few exceptions to the Mantis ritual). Our agreement to then take the contract of the Queen is therefore conditional, that IF what Kalepopolis does proves her illegitimacy and IF it turns her into a valid Mantis target THEN we can take the contract. So far, this is all we have promised Glorio - that is, if it falls within our guidelines we can do it. The moral question in play is more "should we take up a contract that hasn't really been given to us by the Vernai", which Jon is welcome to disagree with, his current objection however (as worded) is rather irrelevant since we all agree against moving against the Queen for as long as she is protected by our rituals.

Suppose Jon-wyn is right. How do we get Kalepopolis without fighting Glorio and any other Raksahas that are still alive? They are DR 15 or so, which makes fighting them extremely dicey. Not sure I can think of a way - yes we could go sneaking off but I assume they'll just find us. It's pretty obvious where we'd be going. It feels to me that Eris's proposal is the most viable course of action. Still if there's another way let's explore it!

When objections finally get thrown her way, Lilith raises an eyebrow in confusion.

"Your earlier remarks to Glorio made me think you were contemplating acceptance, Jon," she remarks as she takes her seat next to

Kage looks at Jon-wyn questioningly. It was entirely possible he was right, but the question remained how to complete their mission? Unsure of what to do Kage pondered...

OK how do we resolve this? One thought is entering a contract is simply not something field agents are allowed to do, hence anything we say like that is simply null and void as far as the guild is concerned. Of course actions that bring the guild's reputation into question will not be welcomed... On the other hand if we bluff our way into getting Kalepopolis's head, perhaps all will be forgiven.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't understand Jon's points of contention. He is against taking a contract against a sitting, legitimate monarch, which makes sense. No one is going to kill the Queen while her authority is legit, and the mantises have indicated as much. However, Glorio possess a way to remove the Queen Ileosa's legitimacy. Only once that happens will we even humor his request.

Does Jon think that us agreeing right now to this particular sequence of events (Kalepopolis revokes Ileosa's legitimacy as Queen ---> We kill Kalepopolis ---> We take the contract against Former Queen Ileosa) still count as taking a contract against Queen Ileosa right this second? That I can understand. While technically following the letter of the Red Mantis Code of Conduct, we certainly aren't following the spirit. However, if that's the case, I don't think he's expressed that particular view very clearly.

All that being said, I still don't know how we're supposed to defeat a whole manor of Rakshasas. Their DR is ridiculous, and they probably have a small army and several more tricks up their sleeves. Fighting them seems to be asking for a TPK.

That is exactly my point. As I understand it, he wants us to agree to a contract now for a time when she is no longer the ruler. To that he says no.

Alenaya, once they were alone, had busied herself with some of her tools and chemicals. Eventually, though, she speaks up.

"Like Eris and Lillith said, what's it matter if she ain't legit? If he can't prove that, then he don't get a deal. But, he may not like that, so I suggest we be ready for a fight either way,"

She then holds up a vial of what appears to be some sort of gaseous substance. "If it comes to that, don't get near where I throw this."

The doors open and Glorio smoothly walks in, hands clasped at his back and a satisfied smile on his face. "I have been informed that you wish to take me up on my offer. Excellent. I have already taken the liberty of starting the paperwork for the removal of rightful rule. Once it is done, and Kalepopolis' signature is properly witnessed, I will leave you to your work."

He sits down upon the lavish cushions at his seat at the table and steeples his fingers in front of him. "Is there anything else that you would require to ensure this arrangement goes smoothly? I would hate for any disagreements, for when dealing with matters as delicate as these the slightest misapprehension could be... unpleasant."

Eris meets Glorio's entrance evenly. "Its not merely a matter of Kalepopolis signing the paperwork. You need to prove that Kalepopolis never lost his right to rule, that he was, and still is, the rightful ruler and therefore has the authority to make this signature and claim - otherwise it has no weight. In addition, he must prove that the Queen never had legitimacy in the first place, before we could take up the contract. If it fails the burden of proof then there is no contract with us. You ask us for anything to ensure the arrangement goes smoothly? Ensure that we could take up the contract in the first place, by giving us actionable intel that she doesn't come under our lofty standards."

Glorio's eyes narrow at Eris. "Kalepopolis is the seneschal. By Korvosan law, the seneschal is the only one with the authority to depose a rightful monarch. With the decree I will have him sign, Ileosa will no longer be a rightful ruler and, I presume, a legitimate target for your services. Though she will no doubt remain in power despite the decree, that's beside the point. She'll only remain in power as long as she lives."

He looks at each of the mantises. "Does that satisfy you?"

Jagen growls, but Astrid nods. "That seems... reasonable," she says softly, head turning to Jon-Wyn.

"Our Vernai is not going to like this," Jagen says, finally finding his voice.

"Oh?" responds Glorio. "And how shall I appease her, you think?"

"What Kage said sounds about right. That and presenting a smart argument. I've seen plenty of opinions swayed because the reasons behind an unexpected change of plans were rock solid."

Jon stands silent and impassive. His expression hidden behind his mantis mask.

Eris smirks slightly. "I think you could mention a few things. For instance, you mentioned the Queen had an edge, or something that discouraged openly moving against her. Knowing a little about that, could be useful, especially if we are taking on a contract against her. Alternatively, several Red Mantis have vanished within the city. Sure, its a center of civil unrest, but I know that many of us are not mere pushovers - yet our losses were extreme for a relatively simple mission, and it remains a slight mystery as to our significant losses. In addition to this, I understand there are a group of adventurer's that happened to gatecrash a hideout of ours. As Red Mantis, we tend to be above revenge, but it doesn't hurt knowing who it was that rushed through our hideout, information is power after all and discovering anything about our adversaries would be useful."

Of course, if I'm Vernai then I can sanction the contract, but I'm not, so I don't :(
Don't mind Eris, I'm just seeking for an edge in case we do take a contract (which I realise, is not a done deal). She's just nattering, and hoping that particularly the latter request might be met with (grudging), favor from Jagen.

DM:

"I believe that we had a deal, I honored my part and got an agreement. Did you plan on upholding yours?"

Glorio listens intently to the mantises, especially Eris. He nods his head in her direction. "I see. If that group of adventurers comes 'round, I shall... dissuade them from complicating your lives further. Unless they also seem intent on ending Ileosa's reign? I could perhaps steer them in her direction if it suits you, giving you an opening?"

He puts on a grave smile, leaning back upon his cushions. "But perhaps you are not up to date on the current talk going on in the mainland. There was an assassination attempt on the queen several days ago. Sable Company Commandant Marcus Endrin attacked her during a ceremony. She not only survived, but killed her assailant herself. So the girl has some power."

He rises slowly to his feet. "I will finish the arrangements that will render the queen a legitimate target. Then you can complete your contract, and begin your next."

He looks straight at Eris. "Would you care to join me? I feel too many onlookers will make poor Kalepopolis nervous while he signs the decree. I think one representative from your order will suffice."

Eris:

And this will give us time to delve into your lineage, my sweet. Would you like that?

Eris smiles pleasantly. "You happened to spot my idea most swiftly. Yes, if they come around, and seem intent to eliminate the Queen, I'd like them to be steered in that direction. Of course, they don't know me at all, and I could always redirect them myself, but if you want to do the honors, then by all means."

Eris pauses, pondering the offer for a moment before raising her eyebrows slightly. "Sure, I'll observe Kalepopolis signing the decree."

"Perhaps Sa'Kage should go instead. He is more known for the use of his holy implements than you are Eris. And I fear that our superiors would prefer things be done with as little alteration to the ritual as possible."

Probably don't need to roll to feel Jon's displeasure with the situation.

Kage had silent but attentive for most of this exchange, weighing Glorio's words and body language. Just how straight with them was he being? He wasn't keen on Eris being alone at Glorio's mercy, of course it was not as if he could do much to him if it came to blows.
Sense Motive with studied targe: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 2 = 27

He glanced at Jon-Wyn acutely aware of his
colleague's dissatisfaction with this course of action. Perhaps he was also worried about Eris being alone too, whatever Kage was glad of his suggestion.

Kage turns his unsettling crimson eyes on Glorio and unblinking he tells him, "I'm quite adept at passing unseen. Kalepopolis needn't know I'm there. Once he's done what is required, the ritual can completed with all due decorum."

Kage:

Glorio seems much more sure of his course of action. He does not appear interested in betrayal at this point, although he's showing a different level of interest in Eris than normal.

Glorio shrugs, and invites the two to follow him. Before Kage leaves, he catches out of the corner of his eye Astrid signing to him in Red Hand, ::be careful::

Glorio walks Eris and Kage silently through his mansion, taking them back to the incredible interior jungle recreated in the atrium. At its center stands a life-sized jade statue of an elephant, complete with a howdah on its back. Glorio presses a hidden pressure plate that causes the whole pedestal on which the elephant it standing to slowly rotate, rising as if an immense cap screwed on a container. After turning 180 degrees, it reveals a curved opening granting access to a spiral staircase descending deep into the ground.

Eris:

Even though he walks in silence, he communicates with you. I'd like to know more about you. What are you, exactly? Not one of us, but touched. I know almost every rakshasa on this side of the world, and some have had... dalliances. Are you elven, perhaps? Certainly not human. What?
If you want to hide what race you are, you need to make a DC 18 Will save.

Glorio then leads them down into the depths, the staircase taking them into a natural cavern.

Eris and Kage:

The air in this vast grotto is cool. The stairs end upon a stone ledge, which winds down along the cavern's inner wall to a series of rope bridges that descend even lower. The upper ledge is a strangely breathtaking beauty -- a garden of all manner of oddly colored fungi, lichens and molds, cultivated into all manner of symmetrical patters normally not seen in nature. Here and there, flickering torches burn in sconces above the fungi, while from somewhere in the darkness below comes the soft splash of water against an unseen shore.

Glorio continues to lead you along the rope bridges that take you all deeper into the earth. Each bridge connects to a lower ledge, all the while the soft sound of the sloshing waters of a sea cave come up from below. On the lowest level, a single wooden pier extends out into a gently waving pool of sea water. A shallow-draft barge is docked at the pier. Supporting timbers and brickwork line parts of the lower edge of the cave to the west and south, showing where the original sea cave has been artificially expanded. To the north, a twenty-five foot wide waterway proveds an aquatic exit from the cave. To the south, Glorio leads you to a pair of large, ornately-inscribed metal doors. He opens them and escorts you inside a grand chamber.

Lit by four braziers, this cathedral-like space is made all the more immense by its lack of benches or other concessions to comfort. The floor is polished tan marble, with the walls rising up to form a domed ceiling sixty feet above. Alcoves line these walls, six in all, inside of which stand human-sized statues of a tiger-headed man. To the south, a few steps lead up to a pulpit-like area with three more statues of the same figure -- the central one being twice as tall and holding out before him two lances from which hang flags. The left is the flag of Korvosa, while the right bears the coat of arms of the Arkonas.

Lilith lazily waves goodbye to Eris and Kage.

Once Glorio is long gone, she leans over and quietly whispers to Alenaya, "I wonder if I'll get spells tomorrow. That'll probably be the big indicator. I ain't exactly a cleric of Lord Achaekek, but there isn't that big a difference between them and me."
