No, I hit a bit of a writer's block here. Apologies all around; I should have fessed up a little earlier, but I thought I'd have something figured out by now.

I'll give some more thoughts to this, try to come up with a way to speed everything along. Feel free to let me know if there's anything specific you'd like to do.

It seems to me we're doing reverse kingmaker (I like these reverse APs btw). I was playing the PC game of that recently (which incidentally is rock hard, monsters do way too much damage). The town building mini-game reminds me a little of sim city, perhaps we're the disasters?

Anyway in Kingmaker there's a bunch of Technic League and agents of Ivortti causing trouble. You could have co-pair Huron run into them.

I'll admit that we might have let this mission get a little more complicated that it was probably supposed to be. I just think its a little tricky to face them all head on when its a party of 5. Grey alone is probably a 9th level wizard (if he managed to cast Magic Jar), so attacking them head on seems suicidal.

Ideally, you catch them isolated and by surprise, but without the festival we need a better diversion - hence all of us splitting up to get allies so we can split them.

I still think diversion is out best shot, but if anyone else can find an alternative to isolating or turning them I'm open to it.

As for what Eris wants to do, I was going to really work on manipulating the heck out of Co'pair-huron to either get jealous, or encourage Maxwell to meet him again. It isolates Maxwell from the others so if we want to turn him, or kill him it presents that opportunity.

Short of that, its probably actioning our plan and launching the strike / diversion and go from there.


Really sorry everyone; I had real hopes of getting some things posted this week, but a combination of serious fatigue and some crazy catching up after last week's holiday means I don't think I'll get to post any updates until early next week.

It's too bad we don't have any divine followers of Achackek with us anymore since predicting Maxwell's reaction to various scenarios is what divinations are for. I know we have Mother Hagcrow as an ally of sorts but I wouldn't want to rely on her too much.

Quicker than intended post to explain my absence lately:

1. Kid: he’s okay, but been battling a virus for about a week and a half. Finally been symptom free for about two to three days.

2. Work: still working as much OT as I can grab.

3. Wife Aggro: anytime I so much as THINK I have free time to post, she uses her super-wife-mind-reading-powers to come up with something for me to not have free time. As is, I’m hiding in the bathroom to post this to all my games. Example 2, today was secretly planned to be a big day of relaxation and posting. She and the kid were supposed to be at school. Instead, she wanted me to keep the kid. Reason: just because.

4. Interviews: been to multiple interviews lately trying to get into a better job that will require less OT. No such luck so far, with one last major option within my hospital in process. Low odds of getting picked. May have to start looking outside of my facility.

I’m PLANNING on tomorrow being my 1 “me day” in the past few weeks and getting some posts caught up. We will see how that goes.

Worth noting (since this was a task given a year ago), we don't need to kill all of the Five.

We get one poetic verse per Five killed, so if we can solve his riddle with less verses, it means less deaths. Killing all of them just makes it simpler though, since once we kill one, they probably stick together.

I came across this rather nifty feat. Wish I'd known about that before, would be cool ok Kage but don't have the skill points to spare. Maybe next time I build a fighter...

There was a mass shooting around where I live and work. I'm fine, but my activity might dip over the next few days or so as I might get called into work to handle some overtime as our department occasionally steps in to handle crisis efforts.

Been a hectic stretch for me lately. Had some life things crop up that have kept me occupied, and picked up a second job to try and help out with some financial strains I’ve been having. If I’m a bit more silent than usual, please don’t take it as a lack of interest.

I will continue posting as I can, but anything involving heavy mechanics posts may be slower than usual from me. If it comes down to it, this is my official authorization for the DM to take an action on my behalf to keep things moving rather than risk slowing the game because of me.

I have to give kudos for the NPCs. These guys all have such stories. Every time we interact I come away thinking that there is so much to these people. Like with Maxwell's last words on his comrades. It makes me think that there's a story there.

I had run a good chunk of the Kingmaker AP years ago, so I used that as a framework for my headcannon of the Council's backstory.

Kage, I can't recall what I ruled. I think a fairly high-level evil spell would be pretty hard to find in and around Emeraldvale. I'll dive into the archive a bit later to see if I had decided something different.

Jon-wyn I think the intention was your weapons and Kage's are poisoned. Anyway Kage plans to try and pin Grey if at all possible to allow for CDG.

Guys, I have been thinking on this for at least a couple months now. Life has gotten too hectic for me, and as such I have decided to thin out my PBP roster a bit to help make hopping on the forums less of a burden. I have decided to focus on thinning out games that have slowed in posting frequency to the point of not being easy to follow and remember accurately what is going on.

As such, I will be dropping out from this game. I hope you all the best in the PBP world here on Paizo, and hope to one day see ya’ll in another game in the future!

Well, this is... mortifying.

I don't really have any excuse for my protracted silence except to say that I ran out of creative juice for this game but felt that at some point I would recharge and get it going again.

Then it went long, and even longer, and I didn't really know what to say. Then Alenaya dropped out and I still didn't know what to say.

I still had/have plans for things in the future of this game. There's still ideas I have percolating around in my head, but I dunno. I lost the spark and I didn't really want to admit it. So I put it off.

And off.

And off.

Sorry about that.

Anyway, I'm not sure how I feel about trying to continue it. There's definitely a part of me that's not ready to officially end it. Then there's the part of me kicking myself for not posting this sooner.

And then there's the players who've been with this game, most from the beginning or very close to it.
