So we can sell or trade two +1 suits of leather armour for 1160gp for the pair.
Say we buy a cart (15gp), a light horse (75gp), a chest (2gp), enough rations for five days worth per person (17.5gp – there are 7 of us right?) and about 100gp worth of trade goods … can anyone think of anything else?
How about we also give each character 100gp worth of the group fund (or more, or less) to equip their character; that way if people want to buy a horse or some weapons or whatever they can, without having to run the purchase by the whole group?
CH, can we assume that mundane items can be sold and purchased pretty easily either at the Vistani camp or in Chateaufaux? Do you want us to run any such purchases or sales past you first?

CH, I came across a Battle Aspergillum in the advanced player's guide. It does 1d6 damage, and looks like a mace used by priests to bless people. Would it make sense for Res to find something like this in Chateaufaux, perhaps by a junk dealer who scavenged it off an unlucky victim of the mist? Since the gods are not a force here, he may not have recognize it for what it was.
I'll wait for your answer before posting this purchase.

I always liked that item.
For no other reason than I happen to like it: yes, you can find one in Chateaufaux. There are some clergy in my version of Ravenloft (who follow philosophies rather than deities), so such an item would not be unheard of, but any merchant who had one would be delighted to find any buyer whatsoever.

Since we lost Niel (Belanos), I have invited somebody else to join the party. I'll find a way to work him in.
Things are still up in the air with Moorluck (Tiffana). I know he's had ongoing computer/internet issues. I'm okay giving him a little more time and we'll see how that works out.

That would be wonderful :)
My husband and son are also here. When do you arrive?
We arrive late on Wednesday and will be there all weekend. We have a few pathfinder society classic games scheduled on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Will you be playing pathfinder, 4e, both or none?
Tordek Rumnaheim |
We have nothing scheduled at all. We're mainly planning to wander, socialise a little and see what takes our fancy. We will be around all weekend.
Sounds good. Once WE've got our bearings, I'll post in this thread about possible meet up locations. We plan to wander between games, too. Enjoy Indy in the mean time.

There is a brightside to all of this though Urdrin is exetremely good at crafting metal armors. He can craft other armors, but he's better with metal and stone. So if he survives and we have a break in between adventures he'd be able to craft some stuff.

Jeremy Mcgillan wrote:I'm having a hard time finding the map of what we've explored so far. There isn't one besides the map of the room you are in. I'll try to write up a brief recap for you, though.
Recap:
The party was investigating a series of grisly deaths connected with Lord Gilbraith. They determined he was attempting various rituals to try to become a vampire and achieve immortality. He had abducted Nathaniel's sister Lenna. They found him over the unmoving form of Lenna but the lot of them were transported by the mists to Ravenloft.
They wandered the mists for a while, fighting some creepy spiders, and eventually found themselves in the realm of Dementlieu, where they battled some ghouls, found a haunted cottage, and went to a dreary xenophobic village. There they encountered a vistani named Darra who led them to her caravan. A fortune telling by Mother Kindry revealed that their fates were intertwined with Gilbraith's, and one of the party, Tiffana, had a dream which led them to Falkovnia.
A drunken veteran confirmed that Gilbraith had been through there and had enlisted in the army, but he did not know where he had been deployed. Most of the army had been pulled out of the town of Silbervas, except those stationed at the prison, with the mysterious "Surgeon" as the only officer who might be privy to troop movements. The party bluffed their way past the prison guards in the guise of craftspeople working on new torture devices in the dungeons. They descended 3 levels underground to reach the entrance to the Surgeon's area, where the guards would go no further. The cellblock, guarded by 3 hunchbacked guards, was the first room they came upon.

I recommend the former. While, if the party wants it, I can ensure a little downtime for crafting, my experience is that crafting PCs generally don't work as well in PbPs as they do in a tabletop game (mostly due to the fact that PbPs tend to run on a more limited scale than long running tabletop campaigns).

I'll leave it too a party vote. While I'd slightly rather make him a crafter, I can play both equally well.

For those wondering what it was that you were fighting:
Tumor Familiar (which gave fast healing 5) and Preserve Organs discoveries
Feats: Combat Expertise, Improved Feint, Weapon Focus, Iron Will
Mutagen boosting Strength at the expense of Int, with a +2 natural armor bonus.
Buffed with Shield, False Life, and Anticipate Peril while you were fighting her monster.
That's a tough fight for a level 2 party. Kudos.

I'm glad you shared her stats. I was very curious what exactly she was. Excellent villian. I was a little worried. That fast healing was a challenge (the dice roller wasn't too kind either).

Here’s my suggested loot breakdown – its by no means a final list, so feel free to comment, revise or disagree.
Divide all the divine scrolls between Res and Eliva.
Erfan takes the arcane scrolls and the wand and a flask of alchemists fire.
Eliva takes the leather armour or we keep it to sell.
Res takes the greatsword.
Angalia takes liquid ice, flask of acid, a tanglefoot bag and flash powder and a potion of cure light wounds.
Urdrin takes a flask of acid and flash powder, a potion of darkness and an elixir of fire breath.
Nathanial takes a flask of acid, a potion of hide from undead and cure light wounds.
We divide the coins six ways (53gp, 3sp and 3cp each)
We sell the alchemical tools and possibly leather armour when we have a chance (it goes in a bag of holding for now).

I originally had her as an Alchemist 5, but 3d6 sneak attack was too deadly. I had to draw the line somewhere :)

Eliva takes the leather armour or we keep it to sell.
Eliva has MW studded leather armor. I vote we keep the magical leather to sell. Eliva can place it in the bag of holding.
Eliva's saves are +4, +4, +6, so she's pretty good in the saves department. Oh, hmm...and she already has a resistance item! Does anyone have a horrible fortitude or will?
Celestial Healer |
Also, I know that this particular dungeon enabled certain characters to shine, while others, less so. Expect variety though - I try to vary encounters so that everyone has a chance to show off what they can do. If your chance hasn't come yet, it will.
Erfan Treefriend |
I agree with Mothman's division of loot. The wand of magic missile will give Erfan something practical to contribute when fighting things that are mindless and/or higher than 4 hit dice. The other scrolls can be used as needed.
I will also gladly take the cloak of resistance as pretty much all of my saves suck horrifically. (+1F, +2R, +2W)
