Wait, i'm confused here GM.
Edwards HP is 7/10 after the evening action lousy CLW result, which is invalid at this point.
When i went up vs Cogwald i was at 10/10 and came out 1/10.
You in your previous post said you considered me on my 10/10 hp from "before" i fought Cogwald.
I think you're mistaking about the total of 11 dmg, which is just 7, so i'd be incapacitated.
So this leaves me at 3/10 and feverish...am i missing anything here? :)

Okay. Now I'm confused. Is Isaac down due to the disease?

All right I shall clarify a few points so that we may move on to the next round of combat.
1. The rats do not deal Con damage. If you fail the Fort save you are infected with Filth Fever, the effects of which you shall discover later in the story line (or if you go on d20pfsrd)
2. Isaac is still alive and kicking but infected with the aforementioned filth fever that will come into play later
3. Edward I had forgotten that you were at 10hp to begin with, I thought you were at 7hp as was shown in the bar over your character. However, if you read my previous combat post

GM Goliath wrote:

The last rat moves towards Edward, determined to do damage to the at least one of the invaders before dying and makes it into combat while avoiding being squashed by the wary monk.

AoO Dario: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Attack on Edward: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12 Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Edward make a Fort save, and btw I consider that you are back to the same amount of health you were at before your fight with Cogward

Edward brings forth a ball of light to help them all see better as they fight off the furry creatures but is attacked in the process as the light distracts him
AoO from Rat: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21 Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4 or Critical Damage: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7 Not sure if animals can crit, anyone?

You will see that you were attacked as part of the rat's action who goes before you for 4 damage. On your turn, after the rat, you cast the spell light, a standard action which causes AoO's, and took a critical for an additional 7 damage. This totals for 11 damage in the last round, effectively reducing you to -1hp not -4 as I b, knocking you unconscious and having you begin dying. Please tell me if I missed something.

Alabaster shouts and points at the barrels with the armor and maces, and then again when Edward falls.
Look there! Weapo--... Edward! What happened?!

Not wanting to take a chance that Edward sprung some kind of trap, and not et believing he was felled by a rat, Alabaster makes for the barrels with the equipment, and arms himself with a mace.

That should be a move action, if I still have my standard I'll activate my water blessing on the mace to gain 1d4 cold damage per hit as a standard

Isaac remains in his defensive position, hoping to avoid the same fate as Edward. He feals slightly sickened, probably due to the rat's filthy bite, but it doesn't interfere with his ability to fight

As Jesal's first eagle vanishes in a flash of light, he repeats his previous incantation to bring a second one to his side in an attempt to finish off the rats once and for all

The rat near Isaac jumps at the chance to attack him, bolstered by his apparent weakness and lack of retaliation

Dario, seeing his companion fall, let's out a loud battle cry as he lets loose another flurry of punches and breaks the rats neck
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Botting to finish up this combat
Ranak sees his chance to fell the last beast and lets loose another beam of icy light with a menacing incantation but misses the beast as it sees the spell incoming and moves out of the way
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Alabaster moves to retrieve a heavy mace he sees lying on the floor and invokes Besmara's blessing before facing the last rat

Edward remains unconscious on the floor, the occasional spasm coursing through his body as he bleeds from the ragged wounds the rat dealt him

With a boisterous cry, Alabaster channels his inner tiger woods and gets a running start at the rat before unleashing the mightiest golf swing the wormwood has ever seen.

Frost Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Swinging two handed for the extra str. damage.

Whelp Alabaster pretty much sent the rat to oblivion so save your spell Ranak. COMBAT OVER!

With a final mighty yell the young blonde cleric smote the rat with his weapon and killed it with that stroke.

Isaac drops his guard and begins panting. "Lads, I'm not feelin' too good here. I think that rat got me sick. We also need to get the bard up." He sees the mace in Alabastar's hand. "Now, where did ye find that, lad?" He moves around, looking around. "I apologize for not bein' to useful in battle. Again, I'm not too good without me cutlass and gear. Been a bit off, I have." That would cause perhaps an aura of nausea from the cheese and stench from the salami. After which you can batter them down. Or a twice baked days old baguette could do the trick, vs humanoids anyway.

I think that gear would be best on Ranak since he's the chef. When he's done beating enemies up, he can turn it into a five star meal with the skill of Chef Ramsey.

"Hold still. This shouldn't take but a moment or two." he says to Alabaster.

Ranak begins using a spell and starts cleaning up anyone who needs it.

Casting Prestidigation.

Alright well for the sake of moving the game forward will simply assume that you manage to hide the weapons on your body before going back up on deck. Alabaster and anyone else who wishes may take a heavy mace with them without repercussion.

As you make your way back on deck, with sweat covering your brow and Edward being carried in your arms, you are met by Plugg who was waiting for you to emerge from the bilges. He glances over your wounds and what weapons you have on your body that are still visible before speaking.

"What took ya all such a blasted long time to deal with a few bilge rats? Ye'd think it woulda been in an out fer the lot o' ya but ya took yer sweet time, an' also managed ta kill one o' yer friends in the process.

There was a slight pause as Plugg fumes and glares at you all before resuming

"Anyway the day's nay over yet so get back ta work, an don' let me see ya swingin' those weapons around tha' ship or there'll be a keelhaulin ta be had fer sure. An get tha' sorry wretch some healing will ya?!" with that he storms of, leaving enough room for Sandara to rush to your sides

She kneels down next to Edward, a tear in her eyes, as she casts numerous spells of healing n him until he returns his former health and then channels her healing energy through her holy symbol to heal the rest of the party

Her job done and still kneeling at Edwards side she says:

"It's a good thing I was there to help you but thats all the healing I'll be able to do for today, so don't go getting into another stupid fight. And you, Alabaster, you might try and think a little more about your friends before you go galavanting off at night instead of praying to Besmara so's she can grant you your powers ok?"

With one last meaningful look into Edward's eyes Sandara gets up and leaves

The rest of the day is uneventful as you go about your daily chores and night comes quickly. None of you have earned any lashes and as such make it past the Bloody Hour with not a scratch before going down to the hold for dinner and to enjoy your free time

As usual:

Spoiler:

There was a group of explorers in the river kingdoms, when it was in turmoil and devided yet again. One of them, a female guide & tracker, led them across the plains and the woods. By the seventh day they came upon a fort, inhabited by ruffians and a bandit warchief. The tracker challenged the warchief for command, as was their custom. She sadly lost and was taken, along with the others, to the dungeons.
The warchief was apparantly dabbling in necromancy, as his other long-dead prisoners came for the living. Then...then the miracle happened. As was written in one of their journals, the heart of the tracker had stopped and she had passed on. But.....a low glow seemingly enveloped her body, turning her hair black as night and skin pale as the clouds. She rose as an emissary of the lady of the Grave, smiting the abominations. That same night, the warchief came to the dungeon to inspect the massacre, yet found a reborn and renewed woman slash his throat. The woman was now a priestess and oracle to Pharasma and founded within the fort the first church to the Lady of the Grave, offering guidance and consolation to the grieving and the newly-mothers.

Isaac dons the armor, feeling better that he has some added protection. He also takes one of the maces. When they reach the deck, Isaac sighs in relief as he's healed. He smiles at Sandara. "Thank ye, Sandara. I feel much better. Looks like my earlier prediction was correct, eh?"

So, are we full healed and me and Edward cured of the disease?

I am the Soon-to-be Captain Isaac Silvermane. The family who's been blessed by Besmara since the time of Sebastian Silvermane. Alabaster said that you were a good lass. I ain't bein fer "gally vantin'", I be tryin' ta make some friends so iffen things be goin' bad, I'll be havin' some people at me back, see? But yer right, I coulda helped him, though tweren't my fault he got hisself laid low by a bilge rat...

With obviously hurt feelings, he finishes up his work for the day, taking care to put everything back where it goes while taking the opportunity to look around as much as he can to kind of get a rough sense of the ships layout. No action to do so, just for later roleplay purposes.

After the bloody hour, he makes his way down to the hold where the grog is, taking extra care to make a show out of downing it in one swig before finding Giffer in the crowd. He slides into a seat next to her and smiles.
Oy, I be spendin most o tha day lookin about tha ship fer places ta be makin a lil fun, but I wernt fer findin any offhand. I'll be lookin harder tomorrow, fer sure!

He spies Shivikah and waves to her, flashing his grin. He then grabs another mug of grog and continues.

I'm fer trying ta trade her this mace here fer me cutlass tomorrow, though. Tell me, ye be hearin' anything of interest of late? Everyone keeps mum around tha new recruits I be seein'.

Salt is just not going to get in line to get rum this time and go straight to sit down. "Dis one not be drinkin', da worship do na allow it," he says to his friends, taking a moment to check on Edward's wounds, patting the man on the back as he sits down near them cross-legged.

Later

Salt will take Isaac up on his offer to head over to Grok's, "Dis one be needin' his spears and thrower back. Be running outta spells too fast."

He will smile and nod, making positive affirmation sounds when Isaac speaks with Grok

Diplomacy Aid other: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Two questions: would purify food and drink remove the alcohol from the rum? And are there any crewmembers (influencable) who have animal companions or pets?

I wonder, but i don't think it likely the alcohol will be nullified.

Fortitude save for the rum: 1d20 ⇒ 3

Ranak chills the rum using a simple cantrip. Prestidigation.

"There! Nothing like a cold drink to soothe the nerves." he says as he downs the drink.

If the rest of the party is present:

"Want yours chilled? It tastes better." he says with a grin.

Once done, Ranak retires early as he desires rest.

Before leaving to meet with Grok, Isaac holds out his rum ration to Ranak with a smile. "Sure! If you wouldn' be mindin'."

Ranak moves his hands and says a few strange words and begins to chill Isaac's drink.

Casting prestigidation.

"And voila! One chilled beverage for you!"

Alabaster holds his mug out behind him for Ranak while talking to Giffer, thanking the Orc when the deed is done and taking a huge pull.

Has anyone heard from our DM?

Ranak again provides the chilling effect quite literally! on Alabaster's drink.

"May our food always be just the way we like it." Ranak says with a wink.

Alas, I have not.

Sorry for the prolonged absence, been very busy recently and then had to take a flight. But fear not, I have returned to bring fun and adventure once more.

Edward
Sandara laughs tearfully at your retort as she finishes healing you

As night comes around you successfully ditch your rum and proceed to join up with Cogward. He still isn't quite sure how much he likes you but is more than interested in hearing a tale about his patron deity and listens with rapt attention. As you finish he claps you on the back and says

"Aye tha' was quite the good tale there laddy, keep it up an' I might take a likin' to ya yet"

before lifting a mug to your name

Isaac, and yes you get the +4
Grok looks left and right making sure no ones sees you before smiling broadly as she leads you too her store where she closes the door and moves towards the fine drink. A couple hours and one and a half bottles later Grok speaks up beyond her usual shantying and merry making and says

"Aye yer a fine right lad an' yer friends too, ye can be havin' yer gear back whenever ye likes, jus' le' me know. Jus' be carefull not ta parade it around an' try ta stay outta sight o' the Captain an Mr. Plugg for safety's sake eh?"
Anyone wishing to reclaim their gear must either do so as a Daytime or Nighttime ship action starting tomorrow, supposing Isaac tells you aout it, except Isaac and Jesal who can reclaim it now

Alabaster
Shivikah doesn't answer much except that she knows that Grok rarely parts with Items dear to her heart and that if it's his weapon he be wanting he'll have to do a lot better than a mace

Jesal
Despite trying to escape the rum ration one is forced into your hands nonetheless, with an angry muttering of "ungrateful swab". Everything goes well with Grok and you manage to regain your gear at the end of the evening

No purify food and drink does NOT work as alcohol in not spoiled, rotten, diseased, poisoned or otherwise contaminated. As for an animal companions no one has them aboard the ship. If you are looking for your own we can RP it and there are multiple possibilities including Pluck the parrot, a variety of ocean living creature, more dire rats in the hold and so on.

Well rum is essentially fermented sugarcane, and fermentation is essentially rot, but that's OK ;)
