Aye, just saying. ;) Besides, when the time in the future comes to eventually sink the ship our 'good captain' is on, he'll know he can use that as well.

The sailor that dropped his crossbow moves to Jesal and attacks him with his shortsword but misses. The remaining crossbowman on the sterncastle misses Isaac. The man next to Alabaster shakes his head, as if he was momentarily distracted by Edward's spell.

With a vicious slash Alabaster kills the enemy sailor that was recovering from Edward's spell. Arhiel's eagle hits the sailor near Jesal with a talon. Arhiel tries to target the same man with a spell, but the mists spoil her aim. Isaac then joins the fray, stepping up and almost skewering the enemy on his cutlass, killing him.

Jesal steps forward, up the stairs leading to the stern castle and drives his spear up through the belly of the last enemy standing on the stern castle. Alabaster takes a five foot step diagonally up and right, and reloads his pistol for his move action. His standard action is using his water blessing to add 1d4 ice damage to his cutlass, or using a fervor to channel and heal his teammates that need it, whichever comes first.
Alabaster moves onto the stairs, almost the where Arhiel's grease spell starts, and reload his pistol. He then takes aim in the general direction of the main deck while speaking to the others over his shoulder.
Salt, best be makin' a choice on tha' one quick like, I bet me boots thar's about ta be more o' em comin'!
Almost as an afterthought, he adds
Right, iffen yer needin' some healin', come get beside me an' I'll get ye right fixed up.

the grease should be gone by now... it only lasts 3 rounds
"Jesal, spare him if you will... he might make good crew material... let Harrigan sort them out after the battle... no need to kill needlessly."
Arhiel climbs the stairs and stands at the wheel, using her meager skills as a sailor to hold the ship steady with the wormwood.
prof sailor, take 10: 10 + 6 = 16
"Boys, the wheel is secure... let's make sure it stays ours... defend the stairs..."
She sends her eagle to help in another fight so it doesn't attack the one that surrendered to Jesal... it wheels off and attacks another fighting member of the enemy vessel.

Still in combat, will need to maximize actions.
Salt steps to the right, tells the man to pick up his crossbow and throw it over the edge. He will then drop his spear, grab some nearby rope (it's a ship, right?) with a move action and tie him up with a standard action.
Next round he will retrieve his spear and see what else he can do based on enemies.

Edward, that's hard to see in the mists; but Arhiel will probably remind you of your orders if you start moving away from the steering wheel ;-)
“The #$%@!@ ship’s !@#!@ wheel is on the @#$@# aft @#$@# deck, just below the @#$@#$ sterncastle. You’re going to grapple over, kill the @#$@# guards on the @#$@# sterncastle, take the @#$@ wheel, and guard the @#$@# ship’s @#$@# boats. Kill anyone who tries to get away on one of the @# @# boats. Don’t move from the @#@@# wheel until the fighting’s done, or you’ll have to @#$!@ answer to me. Oh yeah, as we get close, it’s going to get @#$@#$ foggy. Just stick to what I told you to do and make sure you don't damage the @#$@!#$ merchant, we want her intact. Arhiel, ya're in charge, tell those @#!$@#$ men what to do.”
Just realized she did order you to guard the stairs.

Alabaster, I am not sure what you want to do. Do you want to wait for any teammates to ask for healing and if they do not ask for it apply the water blessing? Or did I misunderstood you?
Alabaster Cain |
Nope, that's exactly right. If they don't ask for healing before the next batch of "bad" guys shows up, then I'm using the water blessing.
Edward Irmington |
"We're holding the line then, if recalling the orders."
Edward gets up the stairs.
Free action, drop inspire. As long as nobody is near us, i'm saving it. 5/9 remaining.
Arhiel |
oh i thought it was rounds per level... in that case, consider it dismissed this round
Arhiel dismisses the grease as she stands at the wheel, keeping an eye on the ships boats nearby.
"While you're guarding the stairs, we've been tasked with making sure no one escapes in those boats, so mind those as well, boys."
Isaac Silvermane |
Isaac steps closer to guard the stairs closer to Alabaster. "I be hurt. But not badly." At Arhiel's warning, he nods.
Alabaster Cain |
So, I just reread the warpriest channel ability, and it only works on one person at a time. I thought for sure it was like the cleric where it healed everyone around you.ust have been changed in the playtest and I just didn't know it. Oh well. If Isaac wants I'll use one use of fervor to heal him. He just has to be within range for me to touch him.
Alabaster Cain |
If Isaac comes to Alabaster for healing:
Milady! A Silvermane needs yer blessin', ta keep up yer good work!
He then touches his palm to Isaac's chest, letting Besmara's power flow through the man.
Fervor: 1d6 ⇒ 4
If Isaac does not:
Alabaster runs his palm along the flat of his cutlass, and as his hand passes, the metal appears to freeze, ice crystals forming in it's wake.
Milady, I be doin' yer holy work this day, so be guidin' me hand an' me magic so I can be takin' everythin' they got.
Isaac Silvermane |
Isaac walks up to Alabaster to guard the stairs. He feels the priest's hand on him and Besmara's rare comforting grace upon him. The Slivermane smiles and nods before returning his focus. He looks to the boats and has a thought.
GM G, are the boats suspended on ropes? Are we able to cut the ropes to prevent the sailors from getting on the escape boats?
GM G |
The boats are hanging on ropes, see this picture for an example. You could cut the ropes, the boats would then fall into the water and most likely drift away
You prepare yourselves for what's next to come, defending the stairs while Arhiel grabs the wheel. Peering through the fog you see shapes in combat on the main deck while everything near you is rather quiet. That does not last long...

Fervor Remaining: 2
