Insight: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Our intrepid heroes walk up to the door to Sinh's lab as if they were Captor and prisoner. A recessed full body scanner reveals itself along the side of the door and begins scanning...

ERROR!...Subject...non-living...ERROR!

Red lights flash and the alarms sound. You are dead certain you've just been discovered when the alarms turn off abruptly and the door slides open.

Lord Sinh is furiously stabbing at the control console for the door with one hand while holding his other hand to his ear, a half-forgotten set of surgical scissors gripped loosely. Of course he's non-living you micro-brained micro-comp-process-o-matic!...Gah! Machines!

He stomps back into the laboratory area clearly wishing you to follow.

Joe:
You do not see Lord Sinh at all. Instead you see a be-spectacled Arab performing all of the actions that are described above.

Inside the laboratory itself is a clutter of surgical supplies, empty ghoul-skins, and one enormous vat of foul-smelling bubbling tar. Oversized alembics filled with muti-hued fluid hang from the ceiling, feeding directly into the sludge below.

Do you have the Heart?

Petra Dodge: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 vs. DC 11 Grab

Timeline flashes away to the Monitor Room below where the quasar engines are shunted into Xavier's nervous system.

Meanwhile, Petra blasts Wild Fire backwards with a gust of concussive air! She rushes forward punching a hole in Xavier's nutrient tank.

Brother! Дръжте се! Аз ще се получи, че неща от теб! Petra is trying to forcefully separate her brother from the cybernetically augmented root system that is currently keeping the engines from exploding.

Timeline materializes back in time to see Petra's rash action...

Group Decision Time!:

Petra is forcing the issue of how to save her brother Xavier. Her hysterics have destroyed any chance of keeping him as he was. The one thing that I am now making you all aware of is the status of his debilitating illness. The root has absorbed the illness into itself as a means of protecting him. He still suffered from the disease because he is still attached to it.

How will you try to save Xavier?

A)Attempt to remove Xavier from the magical root that has been grafted there by Lord Sinh.

B)Cut Xavier and his roots off from the system leaving them inside him to regrow later.

Obviously there will be risk no matter which choice you make. Petra wants her and her brother to be normal as their powers are a result of Sinh's terrible alchemy. Completely removing the roots has a higher chance to send Xavier into shock but if he survived he would be free of both his disease and whatever side effects the roots might have later. Chance of Success: 33%

If you leave the roots in, his crippling disease will remain with him (he will be required to use the medical brace to even move) and the roots would be left to regrow. The roots do allow him some basic powers as if he had prehensile limbs, tremorsense, and limited psychic abilities when in contact with other living beings. He would be labeled an outcast and who knows what side effects the roots would have on him long term. Chance of Success: 66%

When you have made your decision and acted upon it, I will be the one to roll the survival chance.

The verdict is in! Timeline will attempt to extricate the root inside Xavier completely.

Timeline glances to Wild Fire worry apparent on his face. She nods encouragement and the time-traveling trekker teleports the tragic teenager into triage! Xavier screams in pain as he is forcefully dematerialized away from the Seed of Yggdrasil. Xavier is bleeding internally. There is also a fist-sized cut on his back that is now oozing crimson slime and blood.

The Seed is strangely heart-shaped and sized, a multitude of tendrils writhing away from it. The tendrils turn deep red and electricity arcs from their barbed ends as they seek this unknown enemy that would rip away it's body!

Petra shrieks in horror at the sight of her brother covered in blood. NOOO! She makes as if to attack Timeline!

Timeline, you must stop his bleeding! Wild Fire, you must keep Petra and the erratic tendrils from interrupting Timeline!

I'm trying!

With the space now created between Petra and I from her blast, I create a wall between her and I, trapping her in one part of the room, away from Xavier.

I want to give her enough space that the wall shouldn't hurt her as long as she doesn't touch it or get too near. I have a feeling that she can take one helluva hit though.

I then Dragon's breathe the ceiling to keep the tendril-like roots away from Timeline.

And if they weren't already: Sword out, armor on, wings out.

I keep a wary eye on the wall, afraid Petra will try to break through.

If I can, I'd like to reinforce the wall by melting the metal on the floor and smearing it as far as I can on the wall I created.

Timeline successfully stitches up the boy's injury but he can tell that Xavier is suffering from severe shock. He is placed into the life support device but unfortunately the Bio-Splint (patent pending) does not register Xavier as living! Timeline must find a way to either raise Xavier's vitals or override the numerous safety features of the Bio-Splint.

The dreaded Seed of Yggdrasil coils itself behind several layers of crimson tendrils limiting it to a single attack at it's fiery foe.

Dark Sorceror-King of Viskonia [Bruises=1; Conditions: Staggered]

To clarify the above post: You did take damage (and are dazed for this round) because the tar guy hit you. It was the secondary impact against the wall you ignored.

Lord Sinh motions to "Tarwin", You incompetent imbecile! He was barely restrained! And now you've woken my experiment early.

He places a frustrated hand to his forehead. Go and place him in the holding cell along the far wall. He motions to one of the five large cryogenic tubes along the far wall. All of them are open except for the 5th one in the corner. It seems to be in use although you cannot make out the form inside. He'll be less lively once we get him on ice. And in case you cannot read, his is the third one from the left. It was built especially for him by our mutual...friends.

Did you want to redo your turn, Joe?

Hey buddy, I've seen your Jujitsu moves; have you got anything that would send you or I smashing through those tanks? I don't think it'd be good for me to get put in there, and I'd rather stick withe the smash, rather than the grab... Otherwise, I'm gonna hit you and you can Jujitsu me into the tanks.

Elder Human Mage 20/ Planeswalker 10/ Engineer 10

The third tank from the left is indeed the third tank from the right as there are five tanks. These tanks are situated against the wall so even if you were to somehow puncture the back of one of the chambers you would immediately hit the wall behind it. No control mechanisms are apparent on the chambers either.

Ok time for Round 2!

Lord Sinh manages to keep the tar-covered monster inside the vat although it still eyes Risen Fate hungrily. It appears to be readying an action...

I have Timeline's action already, I will need a post from Joe/Risen Fate and one from Wild Fire as well. Remember, Lord Sinh gets to go before Joe does but after Risen Fate and the Seed of Y gets to go before Wild Fire but after Timeline.

If lord Sinh asks, i motion that i am counting the third tank to the left of the first tank, i.e. the fourth tank. i am trying to demonstrate that their is a mis-communication and that rather than being the third tank, i thought he meant the third tank from the left most tank i.e the fourth tank. I don't think tarwin has a full grasp of the language, and as such this should be a potentially real situation.

Ok to sum up the second round in Sinh's Lab:

Joe has already brought RF to the incorrect pod from last turn.

Based on "Tarwin's" repeated "idiocy" I will now need Joe to give me a Deception check to act in character. This is NOT a disguise check so you do not receive the bonus from your ability on this.

-RF passes on his turn in order to play into the ruse.

-Lord Sinh's actions will depend upon whether he makes his Insight check or not and we will proceed from there.

-If the ruse is a success, Joe puts RF into the wrong pod. If the ruse is a failure, Joe gets to act after Lord Sinh takes an action against the interlopers.

You do not get the +20 because your ability only applies to Disguise Deception checks.

Joe is able to mimic Tarwin's graceful stride but under Lord Sinh's hard scrutiny the ruse falls apart.

You aren't Tarwin! The Dragon Clan pride themselves on their impeccable memory! Man-Drake! Destroy the intruders!

Sorry Joe, he has a high insight...when he is actually paying attention.

Lord Sinh pulls an orange flask from his labratory coat and throws it at "Tarwin"'s feet! A noxious orange gas quickly spreads throughout the room as Lord Sinh runs into his Shielded Control Room (think shielded X-ray room but with a reinforced blast door).

Need a Dodge check from Joe and RF followed by a Will save. No this is not magical nor is it a compulsion effect, Joe.

Joe needs to take his turn as well as roll the saves.

You have not been podded yet RF, it's fine if you want to have grabbed the Heart from Joe on your turn while you were acting like a prisoner.

Risen Fate dives behind Joe in an effort to avoid the gas and manages to dodge the initial spray. Covering his nose quickly, he breathes in only minor amounts of it. Not enough to effect you.

Joe fairs much worse as the gas invades his usually stable consciousness. He gains the Incapacitated condition (Defenseless, Stunned, and Unaware) and topples over backwards onto Risen Fate!

Defenseless = Your Dodge and Parry bonuses are now 0
Stunned = You cannot take any actions
Unaware = You cannot make Perception checks and all targets have concealment from you.

Hey ya overgrown lawn ornament! Yea you! I've pruned bonzi trees bigger than you, ya twig!

As Risen Fate edges around the pit, still hopefully out of reach, he chucks any small instruments within his reach at the beast, hoping to goad it; slowly making his way between the beast and the door to Sinh's secure room.

I wonder if I can play keep-away with this guy long enough for him to bust down this door for me...

Yo! You with that smug, leafy, grin. Why not put your money where your mouth...er...roots are and try and hit me you dried-up excuse for a potted plant! I'll make it easy for you, lemme just grab a vine trellis so you can grow your way over to me!

My main goal is to get myself between Lord Sinh's blast door and the plant guy, hoping that I can get him to batter through the door so long as I keep dodging his hits. I also want to keep the attention on me and not Joe. If he takes heed of my insults, I plan on using the Defend action. If not, I'll make him notice me.

Man-Drake breathes a fetid cone of poison towards Risen Fate and Joe!

Man-Drake appears solely focused on Risen Fate and his multitude of leafy insults.

Still need post from Timeline. Risen Fate needs to make a Dodge and Fortitude save vs. Poison Breath and another Will save in an attempt to stave off his Impaired condition.

Risen Fate cannot quite shake the Impaired effect but is able to avoid the Man-Drake's breath easily despite it!

Lord Sinh's voice comes over the room's intercom system.
Prepare to meet your end, do-gooder!

The door to the room seals itself behind two more doors made of a 5" titanium-laced reinforced steel!

Lord Sinh can be seen through the reinforced tinted glass pulling a lever which aims one of the colored vats on the ceiling at Risen Fate! a green alchemical substance sprays into the area.

Joe is immune to this one. RF, I need a Dodge check and a Fortitude save vs. the Mist.

i see the world fade out before me to a swirling mass of black littered with the tiniest motes of swirling twilight. as i focus my attention on these minutia of inspiration. the start difference in contrast blares into full light, blinding me. as i shield my eyes the sparks become suns releasing the cosmic vibes shaking my soul to the core. as i raise my the clay essence is pushed away revealing a body of psychic energy radiating with the world. as i extend my arm i find it shoots out miles to connect with the soul of a robin, sitting in a nest protecting its eggs. it turns its majestic head towards me as as it beaks opens, it eyes flare to life. two radiant beams of holy fire rain into my psychic form showing the love that exists in all, connecting me to the very core of the world. from its mouth spews a coursing rainbow the rushes and twirls as a babbling brook around my visage and speeds up. as the river courses around my legs it builds and pushes lifting me up and surrounding me. before my presence comes a rush of the currents of color as i start to drown in this watery grasp. i frantically kick and try to swim but i cannot make any headway in this vortex of color. for the first time in my life the anxiety and rush of danger breaks over me and fill me with terror and fright. my efforts increase but the more i try the more the colors tie me down. i see my final breath emerge from for mouth a prayer to the almighty Yahweh and my soul follows this promise to god, free from the torrent of fear and impulse i float higher and higher and burst into the black void, sprinkled by motes of light. as i rise i fly over Tel Aviv. i fly back on past the desert and mountains, past the land so sacred and soaked in divine power, to the exiled lands of my people. i fly back to my birth place in Spain. i fly across the great city of Prague where my sentience was awoken in the temple there. as i fly i see a stretched out land of wooden spires. as i near the spires flatten into a long path. i look and in front of my is a guiding dove and above are a series of angels. as i fly under the holy warriors i near a goal, a series of ten pins. flying try i strike through them and find their forms fuse to my remaking the clay body of which i am so used to having. from here i follow the dove past the moon and into the heavens, arms out stretched to meet the All Mighty. from my palms prisms of light erupt. a let out a sigh of excitement and close my eyes as i near my final destination.
gurgle . . . burble. . . wheeee . . . pretty lights . . shlm i whisper aloud as my body cannot handle to journey my mind is currently experiencing.

Effects of Saves made in Previous Round:

RF and Joe are able to determine that Sinh's potion bombs all seem to have a high DC, specifically a DC 22.

Risen Fate: Fails Dodge check to reduce DC and then fails the Fortitude save by 2 degrees (You forgot to reduce your saves by 2 because of the Impaired condition from the LSD bomb making both saves a 12 and 16 respectively). RF is Stunned until he can make a successful save. Stunned characters cannot take any actions including free actions. You may however make a Fort save vs. this effect at the end of every round to attempt to snap out of it.

Timeline: Fails the Toughness save by 1 Degree and takes a Bruise from the angry Petra.

Wild Fire: Fails the Toughness DC by 1 Degree and takes a Bruise from the Seed of Yggdrasil.

In the Diabolical Labratory of "Lord Sinh"...

Man-Drake sizes up his dizzied opponent and Slams bodily into him.

Slam: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 vs. RF Parry DC 11

RF: Need to make a Toughness Check vs. Damage and a Strength Check vs. Man-Drake's Knockback. As you are currently stunned, please post a Fortitude Check and Will Check as you attempt to shake off the effects of the Sleeping Mist and LSD respectively.

RF is Stunned.

Lord Sinh cackles over the intercom...
How do you like my Somnolent Mists, hero? You are getting sleeeepy, sleeeeeepy. And there is nothing you can do about it! My mastery over the mortal coil is absolute! I dare that upstart Lord Sinh to.. err nevermind. Forget I said anything.

Joe is Incapacitated (until rescued or the Scene ends).

Inside X-periment Lab...

Timeline: fires a concentrated beam of destabilized temporal and spatial energy at Petra...

Dodge: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 vs. DC 20

...she dodges the attack, her movements as swift and graceful as the WIND itself. Effects that nullify/counter Air or Wind effects can strip her of her WIND protection.

3 more tendrils burn up from being on fire, but they dodge most of Wild Fire's next Ghostfire.

The Seed however is not so lucky, becomes Dazed and takes another Bruise!

Woozy, Baker manages a laugh and flashes a cheeky grin at the view window.

Somnolent? Rhymes with Impotent. My guess is you're compensating for something. So much so that you've got to grow your own man-thing. Doesn't come naturally, I take it? Heh.

Let's hope these saves are good enough... Otherwise this is going to hurt again...
