Baron Von Beekerheim |
In the distance, you can see that the Baron's zeppelin has stopped dropping the pods. A towering viewscreen appears on the side of the zeppelin. A thin, crane-like man dressed in a labratory smock and wearing technician's goggles dominates the screen.
Welcome Guardians! Do you like my new troops?
Ze are of pure Aryan stock, painstakingly extracted from German graves around ze vorld and melded wiz my advanced alchemical technology!
Not only are ze nigh-unkillable, but ze WON'T STAY DEAD! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahaha...*cough*phlegm*
Even as he speaks, the various bits and pieces of the downed soldiers stir to unlife attempting to join once more hand to arm, arm to torso, torso to ...skull.
In the distance, several RZN with jetpacks escort one of the Mecha as it docks with the zeppelin.
Ah! My children have brought me a little present I see. I have waited so long for zees moment, it would be a crime not to greet them. Auf Wiedersehen, Silver!
With that last remark, the Baron turns off the screen and the zeppelin changes heading...straight for the center of town!
DM_Lazer_Beam |
Silver, the remains of the Mecha have a few squirming remains of the Robot Zombie pilot inside of them but it is piecing itself together too slowly to matter. The entire thing weighs approximately 50 tons (Weight Rank 11). The zeppelin is flying at height of ~900 ft (Distance Rank 5) and is about 1 mile (Distance Rank 8) from your current position at HQ.
DM_Lazer_Beam |
Guardians, we've got basic communications back for the time being. We are engaging the Baron's soldiers in every known drop location. They keep coming! We have it under control for the moment but one of our men thinks he found something implanted in the back of their necks...*SQUAWRK*...seems to be...*BZZZzzRAWK*...movement...*SQURAWK*..stop the Baron now! The communication terminates suddenly.
Maximum Silver |
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Silver crumples and twists the remains of the mech to the point where they will all stay attached, and lifts off with them.
You're mine Baron. We've got an old score to settle, and you've left your garbage on my lawn.
Battalion |
technology1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19 for seeing if anything useful on the mech.
technology2: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19 for the zeppelin
Tempest your with me we got to catch a ride with that balloon!!
Grabs Tempest and jets off towards the zeppelin.
I got a short link to communications they need us to take out the Baron now they are barley holding their own, then it cut out I fear we don't have much time!
DM_Lazer_Beam |
So what's your plan of attack guys? Let me know how each of you (singly or as a group) want to attack or board the Zeppelin.
For succeeding on either a perception or tech check you can see the resulting spoiler and all of them below it.
Battalion, you wince as Silver destroys anything of use on the Mecha by rolling it into a very large ball. On second look though, there really wasn't anything of technological significance...you could build better in your sleep.
Beryl Beacon |
who is Russian batman?
Come with me Battalion, i will teleport us unto that
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
I can teleport us to the ballon, battallion through here.
Battalion |
Silver make a hole with that mech I think it would be Feng Shui if you just put it anywhere you'd like, I here that's the latest fad going around. I prefer the messy science lab look myself but hey that's me
Waiting for Silver to make a hole so him and Tempest can fly in and strike.
I think Tempest is Russian batman by the way didn't see your post till i posted mine.
Battalion |
Avoid the underside of the zeppelin it has cannons coming out of it!!
Battalion stays up out of the range of the cannons and waits for Silver to punch a hole.
if there is a need for a technology check ill roll one now for like interfacing with the zeppelin or disabling a force field or anything like that. I will also make an attack roll in case we go into combat.
technology: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23
wrist blast: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Maximum Silver |
Maximum Silver grabs the remains of the mech, and streaks off towards the blimp, raining debris along the way. With an almighty roar he hurls the mech straight at the blimp.
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
You left your trash in my city, Baron! Allow me to give it back to you!
DM_Lazer_Beam |
Maximum Silver gets within 250 ft of the baron's zeppelin and lets fly with the Mecha.
Section Hit: 1d100 ⇒ 67 30% or less the Mecha hits the armored underside carriage.
The chunk of Mecha parts lands solidly against the hull of the zeppelin balloon with a hollow crash rebounding into the streets below...
Since it can move, treating zeppelin as a construct. The balloon part is weaker than the armored underbelly but the Baron has expected some superhero interference and added reinforcement. Plus a natural 20 doesn't hurt :S There is a super-science propulsion on board but you heros have to be clever enough to find it... I am awarding a Hero Point to each of you for this complication.
The textile outer skin peels away with the hit to reveal...a metal underbody! How the heck does this thing remain afloat?? It must weigh a great many tons...
Robot Zombie Nazi |
The rear bay door of the armored undercarriage folds down to reveal two Robot Zombie Nazis aiming Rocket Launchers.
They adjust their aim towards Silver.
RL 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 Damage DC 25 (No Dodge needed on miss as you are flying)
RL 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
The zeppelin lurches unexpectedly sending the aim of the two Robot Zombies off. The rockets fly past you Silver, impacting nearby rooftops.
The two rear cannons of the zeppelin (2/6) swivel rearward and fire at Maximum Silver.
Turret 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 Damage DC 25 (again, no Dodge needed if they miss since you are flying)
Turret 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 Damage DC 25
Both land solid hits, engulfing your immediate surroundings in flame and shrapnel.
DM_Lazer_Beam |
Tempest readies an action to jump to the zeppelin when Battalion closes.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Tempest executes a perfect acrobatic flip, landing gracefully next to the rocket launcher zombies.
Thanks for da lift, I think I'll be taking the fighting to dem!
Maximum Silver |
Toughness check 1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
Toughness check 2: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
Wiping away a streak of blood from his cheek, courtesy of a fresh cut, Silver's eyes narrow. He eyes the hanger and has a moment of insight.
Perception to see if there is a reasonably empty landing space inside the hangar bay.: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Tempest, how would you feel about being thrown into that open hangar bay to get to work on the inside?
Beryl Beacon |
From the distance I fly and create a giant Mjolnir out of ice and i Hurl it at the 1st turret.
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
I don't think that is high enough to hit.
you can't escape from ice justice forever!
DM_Lazer_Beam |
Battalion fires at the same cannon that was damaged by Beryl.
Cannon Toughness: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
The nose of the cannon glows white-hot further warping its structure. Unfortunately it still seems quite operational.
The zeppelin is nearing the towering financial district of Maximum City.
Maximum Silver |
Avoiding fire while flying around to the front of the zeppelin, Silver looks through the cockpit window to see if he can spot The Baron...
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
...and streaks towards the glass in an attempt to shatter his way inside to gain a hold of the controls.
unarmed smash: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
damage DC: 1d20 + 12 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 12 + 15 + 1 = 46 well that'll do some damage...
toughness check: 1d20 + 12 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 12 - 1 = 15 vs half damage: 23 = 23
...and that's probably going to be another bruise.
That glass was tougher than I expected...
Maximum Silver stands as broken glass shards shower off of him.
Baron! Turn this blimp away now, or so help me, I will turn it for you.
DM_Lazer_Beam |
Your damage DC is a static number. No roll is allowed lol. so its only 28 and half is 14. so no bruise for you either.
The glass for the blimp appears to be one-way and you are unable to see through it well at all.
The glass shatters everywhere and you find yourself standing inside the control room of the zeppelin. A tall control chair stands in front of you with its back towards you. A scrawny figure is trembling inside the massive folds of the control chair.
Robot Zombie Nazi |
The two RZN's reload their rocket launchers while 4 more goosestep towards Tempest...
Steam-Powered Claw1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 Damage DC 22
Steam-Powered Claw2: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17 Damage DC 22
Steam-Powered Claw3: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 Damage DC 22
Steam-Powered Claw4: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14 Damage DC 22
Beryl=1; Battalion=2
Cannon1 Target: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Cannon1 Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Damage DC 25 (again, no Dodge needed if they miss since you are flying)
Cannon2 Target: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Cannon2 Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
DM_Lazer_Beam |
Tempest
Toughness: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
You've got a solid right hook my friend.Takes another Bruise
Tempest can see that all of the zeppelin's cannons are manually operated by the RZN's inside.Comrades! The cannons are manually operated! I think we can access the control room from here... A crashing sound is heard as Silver bullets through the zeppelin's glass viewscreen.
Tempest shrugs. That works too I suppose.
Multiattack versus Four RZN's (-4 to all attacks this round)
Attack1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Damage DC 26
Attack2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 Damage DC 26
Attack3: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 Damage DC 26
Attack4: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 Damage DC 26
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 Will take Added Effect: Blast 0 as the RZN explodes into pieces... At damage DC of 15
Versus Dual-Katanas: DC 26
RZN #2 Toughness: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
RZN #3 Toughness: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
RZN #4 Toughness: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Versus Explosion: DC 15
RZN #1 Toughness: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
RZN #2 Toughness: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27 Already dead
RZN #3 Toughness: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 Already dead
RZN #4 Toughness: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 Already dead
Toughness vs. Explosion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
You all hear an explosion as chunks of Robot Zombie explode out the back of the zeppelin undercarriage. Tempest uses one of the RZN's as a shield agaisnt the explosion.
Beryl Beacon |

sweet molly i actually made that with a nat 20
I form the ice into a massive missile
Baron you will not get away from our powers combined.
I try to find the propulsion system of the blimp hoping to break it out of commission.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
i think i see something, if not i attack a cannon
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
i think i miss,
man these ice attacks are just not hitting, must be the summer heat.
DM_Lazer_Beam |
I am assuming you are shooting the Propeller as it is the zeppelin's means of propulsion?
Your aim is somewhat off but still enough to hit the massive propeller blades.
Your Ice Missile impacts, warping one of the blades badly. As you watch, the abnormal stresses placed on the propeller cause something inside the zeppelin's motor housing to overheat and explode. The blades are noticably slower and the whine of the engine can no longer be heard.
DM_Lazer_Beam |
Battalion
Today's Special: Two-for-One!
Battalion shoots his pulse cannon at one of the RZN's holding a Rocket Launcher.
Pulse Cannon: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
The shot sears the RZN's flesh revealing pneumatic tubing and servo-motors instead of bone. The RZN appears unaffected.

Seems to be a fairly regular distribution for Fate/Fudge dice, with the +/-4 at 1% seeming a fine percentage given that +4 is an impossible task, and should not normally be possible without using some buff.
Paizo forums could be used for Fate systems by rolling 4d3 - 8

...a d5 - d5 distribution would be slightly higher on the ends than Fudge dice, and slightly lower on the zeros while balancing out near the middle numbers.
Players would simply have to add their 4 results together by hand after rolling them...
