Well played Tavir!

Battle Grid | Current Initiative = OoI

Yes! Well played, indeed. Except...

Marketh, Akassa's chief of staff, the man flanked by the guards overseeing the proceedings, looks at Lady Liaqirelle and her supposed valet and says, "If the Lady Liaqirelle had any noble standing or influence she would have arrived with diplomatic escort through the High Gate, not shuffling through the main gate with every other peas... *ahem*," he clears his throat to check his words, "citizen. You want to help Midvale as a Lady, come back with diplomatic envoy and patents of assurance from the elven nobility. Otherwise, if you're helping out like every other citizen, sign the contract, take your gold, and shuffle right on back out the way you came." It is clear by both Marketh's attire and his attitude that he considers his present duty to the senator beneath his station. Meanwhile there are scores of people who simply place their signature on the contract without even looking at it, collect their paper money, and leave without so much as a word.

Speaking up from the rear of the group, and in stark contrast to the formality that Tavir spoke with, Ashrie speaks up.

"Seems kinda foolish to ignore someone actually qualified to handle the task at hand. Here you are shelling out Gold to any idiot smart enough to extend his hand, knowing full well you won't see many of them again. And here's Elven royalty, willing to help, and you scoff at her... Perhaps, if you have a qualified applicant for the work the Senator will appoint you to a more dignified task, as you don't seem to enjoy this one too much."

Taking a breath, exhausted from his monologue, Ashrie adds: "Also, you should apologize to the lady. If you don't she'll get all sorts of mad again, and I don't think you want her shouting in here, and let me tell you, she sure can shout." He adds the last bit with a chuckle.

Marketh looks at the ragged, disheveled elf throwing caution to the wind inside Castle Redwood, and trying to cow one of the Senate's chief of staff, and he laughs, a good hard, hearty gut laugh. "You've got to be kidding me, right? You expect me to bend the froggin' knee to miss lady here? If she were as much nobility as she expects everyone around her to think she is, she wouldn't be waitin' in line to get a scrap of paper that says the Republic owes you five gold, would she? How about you just get back in line, scribble your mark on the paper, and move along before Jaxsyn and Territh give you a good lesson in manners, and by that I mean drag you down to the dungeon cells for interfering with official Senate business? How's that sound to you?!

Tavir cocked his head to the side slightly as Marketh went on a tirade about the proper way for a noble to enter the castle. That was certainly interesting to know but Tavir couldn’t help but wonder how often the man had been known to deal with elven diplomats. Not that Tavir was an expert by any means but he would have assumed a bit more tact than the man did. He knew the workings of Tradebay City far better than he did here. It was there had he had always imitated nobility and at any given party if you acted the part you were treated with respect. Accidentally offend an eccentric merchant in Tradebay City and you could find yourself blocked from numerous deals and events, a wrong word would ruin you. Here apparently, they were confident enough in their ways that they would insult anyone who was somehow different than expected. That annoyed Tavir but he decided to channel that energy into looking as though he was suffering through dealing with someone of middling station—since the man obviously thought his current task below him. In an almost condescending voice Tavir smiled and stepped forward, signing the paper as he spoke, “When Her Highness’ party has dealt with the incidents at Midvale and returned to the city, I assure you that we will let the Senator know how very helpful you were in assisting us during the call to arms for a problem so close to the Senator’s own heart. After all, it’s the least we can do after our reception here.”

He continued smiling the whole time and extended his hand to Marketh as if he expected the man to pay him personally, something that a servant would likely be expected to do instead, just to further gall him. Tavir didn’t think that the way he was needling the man would end with him in jail but then he had been imprisoned for worse reasons before. Besides he had to do something, he hated being talked down to like he was gutter trash—even if he technically was. And since he didn’t have a knife to shove into the man’s stomach he would instead do his best to attack the man’s pride and station. He wasn’t necessarily lying either. He fully intended to carry out this task to the best of his abilities and upon their return he would do everything in his power to see the Senator punish this man for his condescension. On the streets you couldn’t let people walk all over you. Someone insults you once and you do nothing, they’re going to think you are weak and that they can do it again. Bide your time if you must, but strike back, hard, and make them regret it.

That said Tavir was impressed by Ashrie, looking back to how the man had acted in the tavern the dirty elven man had seemed just a little strange and detached. But the cold way which he dressed down Marketh reminded Tavir of just how little he really knew about his traveling companions. He felt his respect growing for the man.

Ashrie looks to Marketh and shrugs his shoulders. "Whatever you say boss, just thought I'd warn ya"

He will then step forward, make his mark (a long, slender "A"), and collect his reward.

After suffering the scowls and demeaning words of Marketh, Bellaluna Liaqirelle finds herself speechless, and unable to do anything but silently put her royal mark on the contract, and accept her paper promise of gold. Then she, and all her "retinue," head back out of Castle Redwood, meeting their Highlander friend Shenkt, and moseying down across the great bridge to District Twelve. After a bit of looking around they find pier eight berth two, and see their companions Jun and Baen, in a rather vociferous conversation with a man who can only be Captain Bromir of the Faithful Falcon. The three are on the dock, surrounded by acolytes, clerics, and paladins who are busily moving supplies from some heavily laden wagons onto the ship, into the cargo hold.

"I'm sure you're need is great, and I'd really like to help, but there are literally no more bunks or hammocks available on the Falcon. It seems the wildfires in the Mourning Forest are giving the orcs fresh bravery and they've been raiding all the northern villages. Unless you think you can find an out of the way corner on the deck to rest your heads, I just don't have the room for you, and even then protocol dictates I charge you for passage. It's roughly a hundred miles to Blueblossom, so you're talking about ten gold pieces per person, for a one way trip." Captain Bromir, a tall muscular elf, with emerald green eyes, and flowing golden-blonde hair, is a man who exudes confidence and power, just as if he were wearing them as a cloak, which he is also wearing, pinned at the throat and hanging over his right shoulder. His sigil of clerical office gleams with polished filigree from his left pauldron, his chainmail likewise gleams. At his side he has a longsword, and across his back a shield, on which are etched a sickle and sun. It seems as though the captain would like to help, but, as an agent of the church is honor bound to tradition and law... Perhaps some keen persuasive words could sway him?

Charisma, it's not a dump stat any more. :D

Baen had been quiet for most of the discussion, but he felt that familiar pull in his heart. This captain wasn't unsympathetic, yet he had duties too. Baen understood that, but knew that there was a spark of care in the elf's heart that he felt he could enkindle, with the right words.

"Good captain, I understand your duties and requirements. We are merely trying to do the good work laid before us. Working together for the peace of all would be better than some of us failing our duties because we could not find our way to our task." Though Baen's speech is plain, and definitely bears hints of his peasant upbringing, he has a backbone and an earnest tone in his voice.
"Please, we can find a place that's out of the way to berth, but we need passage. Many of us are strong of body and spirit, and can help with the journey along the way, reduce the burden of our presence. We promise you that our mission is of great import. A whole village is under some kind of threat that might kill silently, and by all signs it is still spreading. What good is defeating the orcs if you return to a land ravaged by disease or magic?"

Jun, who had been the main one haggling with captain, Jun pauses and waits to see how Baen's approach effects the captain. If it doesn't work, he tries a different tact:

"Captain, I don't know if you know who I am, but my family runs a rather large shipping enterprise that spans all of the major kingdoms and cities, and a great deal of the smaller ones. I'm sure that you have goods or people you need to have moved into our out of a place. Such is our need that I would be willing to entirely wave our fee for doing one such endeavor. Once outside she turns to him, "I thank you young Ashrie for your words in addressing that fool in such a manner! Mayhaps you are wiser and braver than you appear. And yes, whenever we come back this way or encounter the Senator again, we shall have to address his disrespectful attitude with her and see to it that something is done about that!"

Arriving at the pier: Not being in the best of talking moods right now, Luna decides it might be best if she just stands back and listens to the negotiations. Bromir looks over the collection of adventurers that are seeking berth on his Faithful Falcon, then from Baen to Jun, and back again. When he speaks, you can see a soft resignation in his emerald green eyes, a brightness there, a smile behind the eyes. "We'll certainly need supplies moving upriver, and that soon. The value of saving the cost of an entire shipment would more than cover a round trip passage for the men and ladies you've gathered here. I'd need that offer in writing, though, as a guarantor." He taps a finger on the hilt of his longsword. As he does so, you notice that there is a thumb-sized emerald set into the pommel whose color exactly matches the captain's eyes. "Not to mention, having so many extra hands about, even if they aren't trained for sailing, will make it easier to keep the ship moving around the clock. You're not opposed to rowing, should that be necessary?" Bromir asks, looking at everyone, not just Baen and Jun. It's possible the answer to this question will determine whether your group gets on the Falcon and headed up river within the hour...

Tavir shrugged resignedly. He wasn’t going to risk losing them transport by being unwilling to work the oars. He wasn’t especially strong but if they needed him of all people to aid them so be it. It wouldn’t be the first time he had to pay for transport with manual labor and unfortunately it wasn’t likely to be the last anytime soon. He dreamed of the day when he could afford to just throw gold at any problem and have it disappear. Tavir nodded to the Captain, “I can help on the oars if it’s necessary. I am not especially strong, but I can also carry a rowing tune well to help inspire some other rowers. It might be a better use of my skills than rowing. But I’ll leave that up to your judgement.”

Tavir:

I realized you mentioned you're from Tradebay City earlier. Here's a bit of background about my character to help see if we've met before, even if Jun doesn't remember you =D

Jun's father is a pure-blooded Tindaran Samurai who runs a rather large shipping company. They move goods across the entirety of the known world. He's rumored to be a good swordsman, but you've never heard of anyone who's seen him fight. His mother was actually a fairly well known travelling Elven lute player and singer (so if you've studied music in Tradebay, you probably have at least tangentically heard of her.

Jun ran the business for several years, typically hiring adventuring types to guard his caravans and ships (since they're usually pretty cheap to hire and bring skills disproportionate to their pay). It's entirely possible that his company hired you to caravan guard (assuming that you would do such a thing).

Jun was also considered something of an eligible bachelor, but the rumors were that he was trying to marry into a Tindaran noble house.

Bromir listens to everyone's self-proclaimed qualifications, and though their seeming unwillingness to grab an oar and heave ho gives him a bit of pause, the list of skills they all set forth is not without merit.
"Well then, if the half-elf gives us his guarantor in writing, you all are willing to bunk on deck, and help out as needed, I think we'll make the room for you." Bromir smiles and reaches out a slender but muscular hand to shake Jun's. "Welcome aboard! You all can start your labors by helping my crew move those crates from the wagons to the cargo hold." Pointing at the line of men and women of the Order of Faith that have been steadily moving back and forth from wagon to ship, Bromir smiles and indicates that you can prove your willingness to help out right now. "As soon as all these supplies are loaded on we'll be heading up river, so the sooner they get aboard, the sooner I can get you all to where you're going. Plus it'll give you all a chance to introduce yourselves to the men and women making the journey north."

Tavir suppressed a sign, complaining wasn't going to get the job done any faster. He went over and picked up one of the boxes. When Nikeisha asked if they were shipping lead he almost laughed, till he found out himself how heavy it was by almost dropping it on his foot. He seemed to have a slightly better handle on it than the slight Nikeisha but then again, he had done this one before. Lift with your legs and all that. Still he was curious as to what was in the boxes. It would be interesting if it was anything valuable being moved around with them. Not that he necessarily intended to steal anything of course, but Tavir believed in always keeping your options open and knowing what opportunities were out there.

"Its not so bad Nikeisha, maybe its just boxes of loose cutlery rather than actual metal bars," he said with a forced laugh. It wasn't the most inspiring thing to say but he said it with his characteristic grin, making it clear he wasnt having an easy time of it either. Jun:
So Tavir is basically a con artist who trained himself to be amusing. He learned to play the flute from a halfling beggar because he found that a flute was a) easy to carve and b) people pay you if you're entertaining. As he grew older he managed to save enough money to buy what amounted to a page's outfit and then passed himself off as a page in order to spy on nobles and merchants and rob them if possible. As he earned enough he bought a noble's costume as well to allow him to more easily slip into noble gatherings. Its possible that they could have run around in similar circles at one point or another but Tavir tried very hard to not be memorable or make any lasting impression on people. It would make robbing them harder after all. But he did have to pay his way out of the city during a robbery gone wrong and he was willing to do just about anything, including manual labor, to get away one night. So its entirely possible that ship could have been owned by Jun's family.

Battle Grid | Current Initiative = OoI

Bromir, who is currently looking over the contract Jun is drawing up, to attend to the particulars of his family's obligations to the Order of Faith, that will help pay for their passage north, stands up from stooping over the ink and paper, and looks at Tavir. "Hammers and nails, mostly. We're going to help rebuild all the northern villages that suffered from d'rak (this is what the educated in society call orcs, as it is actually the orcish word for their own race) raids." As soon as the words leave the Captain's lips, both Tavir and Nikeisha share a look that says, "right, of course," and move where the crew foreman indicates for them to put down the crates.

Tavir, I love the use of Bardic Inspiration there. Great way to shore up the weakness of another character, and to form strong bonds as an emerging team. Excellent! So, guess what? You just earned yourself Inspiration from the DM. :)

When Jun returns, he is wearing a different Kimono, this one a simple brown affair, but still cut in such a way as to accentuate his natural charm. He has a pack on his back, and a sack which appears to contain armor as well. When he arrives, he will pull out one of the flasks and offer to share a toast with the ship's captain for their good fortune.

Battle Grid | Current Initiative = OoI

Jun's well earned toast occurred just as Bromir ordered the crew to kick off the bollard ropes and drop oars to back out into deep water, shortly after the ringing of the morning vespers bell from the various temples throughout the city. The massive galley, Faithful Falcon, is crewed with all the military precision one would expect of the Order of Faith. Everyone has a job, knows their job, and fulfills their job, without fail. This, of course, leaves the adventurers, Akassa's newly volunteered militia, trying to stay out of the way. Having tucked their gear in one of the only spots available, underneath the stairs that lead to the stern deck and steerage, they spend the rest of the day leaning against the gunwales watching the scenery float by. And what scenery it is! As wide as three miles across at some points, and narrowing to a mile at others, the river is beautiful and swift, with high bluffs scattered on either side from time to time, and looking across wide open plains of grass or widespread forests at others. A strong southerly wind meant the Falcon could fly across the water at full sail, whipping up white water at her bow. The day and evening passed with great camaraderie and fun. The crew that weren't on shift spent time gaming, dicing, and a bit of fishing, and everyone got along very well. Many among the group, new to the life of a sailor, felt what must be the call all sailors feel when they leave the land for the sea. There is something wonderful and fulfilling about being aboard such a vessel as it carves its way through the water.

Evening turned to night, and the group spread out on the planks of the deck just outside the captains quarters at the base below the stern deck, the most out of the way place they could find. The lastwatch crew weren't exactly careful if they had to step around the group, but the lull of the Falcon as she glided on the water up river meant sleep came to all anyway. Except for Bellaluna of course, as with all elves, she needed only enter her state of trance for four hours to get the same recuperative rest as her new human friends needed eight or more hours to receive. Thus it was she who first noticed as the crew began to drop sail and steer the boat toward the eastern shore, coming to rest and dropping anchor in a deep boggy bit of reeds and lily-pads. She asked Bromir, quietly what was happening, and he, as quietly, told her that they were less than a mile from the city of Daybreak, and he needed to take the dinghy ahead to pay the toll and clear passage north with the local customs officer. She then watched as the lastwatch crew, being relieved of duty, and finding no cause to stay on deck disappeared below deck to get start their sleep early.

Thus it was that Bellaluna was the only one awake and alert when, not even a half hour later, by the light of the torches, lamps and braziers that keep the deck lit she saw six humanoid frogs jumped over the ship's gunwales and onto the deck, crude spears in hand, one croaked something in a language she couldn't understand. No doubt they lay in the swamp hiding, and saw a chance to steal some valuables while the ship lay unprotected. Not as unprotected as they would have liked no doubt. Her friends lie asleep within earshot, but still armored, with weapons near to hand.

Our first combat - things to know:
Okay, so I mentioned that I'm using Hero Lab to keep track of things with this group. I'm also using Hero Lab to keep track of combat, which means the program rolls initiative for me. This saves time rolling virtual dice, and that makes my job a lot easier, and everyone wants a happy DM, right? Sooooo... Initiative rolled by HL is as follows: Baen (surprised and uconscious, can't act), Bullywug #4 (cyan/light blue), Bullywug #1 (Pink), Bullywug #2 (Purple), Nikeisha (surprised and unconscious, can't act), Bullywug #5 (green), Bellaluna, Shenkt (surprised and unconscious, can't act), Ashrie (surprised and uconscious, can't act), Tavir (surprised and uconscious, can't act), Bullywug #3 (Blue), Bullywug #6 (Yellow), Jun (surprised and unconscious, can't act). As this is our first combat, we'll all be getting used to how things work. The battle grid is located at the link below this alias' name. The link "Battle Grid." It is a link to a Google Drawing that you should be able to edit, which bears responsibility. Two things to remember, UNDO is your friend!!! If you did something and didn't want to, simply click the undo arrow to restore things to the way they were, you can do this multiple times for multiple steps. Second thing, everything on the Drawing is editable (so please be careful not to move things that are "fixed," like the grid map itself. :) Oh! One more thing to remember, when discussing whom your character is attacking, please remember to put the color of your intended enemy in OOC text. If you have questions at any time, or want to work on strategy among yourselves, please do that in the Discussion tab of the campaign. Remember that in D&D 5e standing up from prone takes fully half of your total movement speed. If you have 30' of movement it takes 15' to stand up from prone, which most of you are, because you're sleeping.

Initiative = Baen (surprised and uconscious, can't act), Bullywug #4 (cyan/light blue), Bullywug #1 (Pink), Bullywug #2 (Purple), Nikeisha (surprised and unconscious, can't act), Bullywug #5 (green), Bellaluna, Shenkt (surprised and unconscious, can't act), Ashrie, Tavir, Bullywug #3 (Blue), Bullywug #6 (Yellow), Jun (surprised and unconscious, can't act). Which means it's my turn.
=D

Bellaluna watches as the Bullywugs, for that is what they are called, spread out, but do not engage. They are wary, and were obviously not prepared for someone to be awake and on deck. One does approach from her rear, but he does not close distance and attack. Is it fear or preparedness that holds them back?

Bella, just so you are aware, those that acted before you are using their move actions and then the Ready action. I won't tell you what they've readied or for what trigger, but you're a smart player, I'm sure you can guess. :) Speaking of... Bella, you are up!

Looking around at the horrendous frog people, Bella holds both hands out and low to the side, palms down, trying to make calming motions, trying not to incite the frog people to attack her as she does not think 6 attacks on her would be a good idea. In a low, calm voice she will say, "Everybody wake up." If the frog people do not seem to react, she will repeat it a little louder, "Everybody wake up!" and if the frogs still do not react and others are still asleep, "EVERYBODY WAKE UP!" at the top of her lungs! As she then takes a fighting stance prepared to strike at any frogs moving hostily(?) towards her or any of her new ... friends? ... nah, more like companions ... so far. Wow! Cool how those three lines of 'Everybody wake up' lined up like that! Not planned at all!

Battle Grid | Current Initiative = OoI

Bellaluna's yell brings everyone to consciousness. However, all allies are still surprised, and therefore cannot act in the first round. Thankfully that round is almost over. =D

Bella's yell wakes up all her comrades, and startles the frogmen. The amphibious creatures continue to spread out, two of them getting dangerously close to the cluster of sleepers, yet they still do not attack.

Again, using move actions and Ready actions, so be prepared... Remember everyone except Bella is prone. If you are going to stand up (half your available movement) draw weapon (as part of your move or attack), move in and attack, be prepared to take that Readied attack. I guess I tipped my hand as to what actions they readied, eh? Oh well. :) Initiative = Baen, Bullywug #4 (cyan/light blue), Bullywug #1 (Pink), Bullywug #2 (Purple), Nikeisha, Bullywug #5 (green), Bellaluna, Shenkt, Ashrie, Tavir, Bullywug #3 (Blue), Bullywug #6 (Yellow), Jun. Which means, Baen, you're up!

Rising to her feet, Nikeisha looked around sleepily at the attackers. "Oh, sure, leave the city they said. Perfectly safe it is. Like hell it is." Tapping one leg against her bare thigh while the other dipped into her spell component pouch, Nikeisha directed focused thought against the strange little frog things. "Kaima," she muttered, "Kaima." Well, if they were going to disturb her sleep...

Nikeisha casts Sleep on 5d8 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 6, 3) = 18 worth of Bullywugs, focused on Yellow.

Tapping a leg against your thigh is an interesting idea ... but doing it while dipping your other leg into your component pouch?!?! WOW! Amazing! You are quite the contortionist! - ;) :P Hahaha! Sorry, couldn't resist!

Blast! I biffed that! Totally forgot you were an elf Ashrie. Not, it does matter. It matters a lot. To retcon just slightly we'll say Ashrie was in his trance, sitting, when the attack occured, so, still surprised, and not able to act in the first round. Sitting, though, is not prone, at least in my book, so Ashrie can use his full movement as desired when his turn comes up. Sorry about that. Won't happen again.

(Yellow) Wisdom Save: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Baen, I assumed Yellow target here as it is the closest to your character, since it made the save, it doesn't much matter which on you targeted, the roll would have been the same for each. Man, the dice algorithm is really favoring enemies in both my 5e campaigns!!! Yikes.

"Ribbit." The frogman looks at Baen with a queer expression, but otherwise shows no signs of being affected by his magic. And that's when things go from bad to worse. The frogmen, apparently emboldened by the heroes inability to do anything of note, close distance, two move in on Bella, first from the north (pink), her quick reflexes take over and she flashes a kick at the frogman's neck exhaling a burst of air as she does. "Kiya!", she yells.

Luna's Ready Attack against (pink): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Bludgeoning Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

The royal elf's foot slams with an audible CRACK! into the bullywug's neck, and he winces in serious pain. Then, the frogman returns the favor lashing out with both his crude spear, and attempting to bite the leg that struck him.

(Pink) Spear attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
(Pink) Bite attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Luna's quick lighting quick reflexes help her to avoid the spear, but in so doing she takes a bite on the leg.

(Pink) Bite Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Meanwhile she's attacked from the east as well, and her new friend Baen is attacked from the west.

(Purple) Spear attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
(Purple) Bite attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

(Cyan) Spear attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
(Cyan) Bite attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Thank the good gods the flurry of spears and frog-teeth all miss their mark. Nikeisha rises up and expends her slumber-inducing spell directed at the bullywug right next to Baen. It immediately falls to the deck, dropping its spear in the process. Watching all this the last unengaged bullywug (green) sallies forth to try and jab the prone barbarian Shenkt with his spear, using two hands to slam the spear to the deck.

(green) Two-handed Spear Attack with Advantage because Shenkt is prone: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
(green) Two-handed Spear Attack with Advantage because Shenkt is prone: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
(green) Two-handed spear damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Shenkt yells in pain as the spear finds his flesh, and tears a gaping slash across his ribs. "Eeeyaaah!" He screams, and then stares at the frogman with so much loathing and unbridled bloodlust that the frog makes a hard swallow, realizing he may have just awoken the proverbial sleeping giant.

All things considered not too bad there. Current turns in Initiative are: Bellaluna, Shenkt, Ashrie, Tavir, Bullywug #3 (Blue), Bullywug #6 (Yellow), Jun. Remember, there is no AoO for standing up from prone in 5e, just the extra movement cost. You can stand up, draw a weapon, and attack without fear. :)

Battle Grid | Current Initiative = OoI

Oooh dang, just realized (pink) is within the 20' range of sleep, and was within the range of the HP allowance. :) So, small addendum.

Bellaluna is about to send a strike at the hideous frogbeast that bit her, but just before she expends the energy she watches the frog fall to the deck, unconscious. Nikeisha's magic must have blasted it as well! Now she only faces one enemy on its slimey webbed feet.

"Please, please don't... We don't want....." Ashrie's voice trails off, lost to the wind as the darkness envelops him.

Shenkt's ferocious anger causes his wild swing to miss. Ashrie, though, pulses his ray of magical green light right into the frogman's eyes, and the magic explodes inside his skull with sickening puns force, dropping the web-footed beast to the deck, bleeding and dying.

Inspiration worked out well there! Still waiting on Luna and Tavir, before moving on in the initiative.

Tavir began to wake up after the middle call by Bellaluna and was about to complain about being woken when she screamed it out and Tavir really opened his eyes to his surroundings. What he saw quickly drove off any thoughts of a peaceful sleep. It appears they were being accosted by some sort of frog men. Tavir had heard of such things but had never actually encountered any before. For all the stories he learned of far off places and adventures, his own life had been relatively city bound and that kept him away from creatures like frogmen. And since it didn’t seem like these frog people were here to barter, Tavir quickly rolled and reached for his sword as the creatures swarmed at them. Some of his companions were quite quick to act. It was lucky that Bellaluna hadn’t been taken by surprise like the rest of them had or they may have been in a much more dire situation. One of the frogs [Cyan] seemed to be closing in on Baen and it tried to take a stab and bite at him when it reached them. Hoping it would be somewhat distracted and focused on Baen, Tavir drew his rapier and took a stab at the creature.

Rapier Attack vs Cyan: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Rapier Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Well, there's bug on my face... Just working to adjudicate everything and realized that the next two Bullywugs up in initiative are out of play. One is dying the other knocked out by Nikeisha's sleep spell. Jun and Baen could have both acted as well... Ah well.

Tavir's rapier bites frog flesh, but not as deeply as he would have liked, the frog winces, but is still very much in the fight. Luna's well placed kick to her adversary does much more damage, she hears amphibious bones crack as her foot slams into the bullywug's chest. Yet it too is still able to fight.

So current initiative is Jun, Baen, Cyan, Pink, Purple.
