The room behind the double doors is fairly large, 20 times 30 feet. Two tables, each surrounded by plain wooden chairs, sit in the middle of it. Unorganized heaps of maps, notes, and books cover each table. A large map of the City State hangs on the opposite wall.

There are no visible exits.


Feres expends a few charges of his healing wand on Valgrim and himself.

It takes a while to look through the papers, but you are in no particular hurry I guess.

The papers detail numerous noble families and government institutions that have been corrupted by their influence. This includes merchant councils, the leatherworker’s union, the carpenter’s guild, the stonemasons, the courts, the militia, and even some circles pretty close to the Overlord himself. All in all a rather worrisome read.

Valgrim also discovers a secret door to the south, leading into a narrow passage.

"Wow, these guys were into every major organization...we will need to alert the authorities afterwards!" Valgrim helps stuff the papers/maps/notes in Vug's haversack. When the party is ready, Valgrim will have Vug check the door for traps/locks and then lead the party down the passage.


"Indeed," Feres replies to Valgrim's observation with a worried look on his face. "Although if the shapechangers have infiltrated so many organizations, it might be hard to determine who to alert!" he exclaims.

"Good point, Friar. But it doesn't seem they got the Overlord himself only his inner circle, but how do we get an audience with him? Guess we'll have to worry about that later, assuming we survive." Valgrim smiles and grips his greataxe.

"That's the problem, I'll bet some of these bastards are the authorities, and ther's little way of knowing who's who."

Vulcan begins gathering up documents and rolling them up to place in his waterproof scroll cases in the even that the party's exit required another trip through water.

"This is indeed very troublesome. I wonder if we eliminated all of them, or is this just a cell of a larger organization?"

Is there anything in the papers that indicates if there are other cells of the organization located elsewhere?

Behind the first secret door there is a second one. Beyond that door is a dizzying array of light and reflections. Polished metal mirrors stretch from floor to ceiling, forming a maze of endless corridors and reflected images.

I'll try to get you a map up, but maybe you'll have a method for navigating this maze.

Only a few steps in, Valgrim's intimate knowledge of stone allows him to spot and avoid a pressure plate.
