Sounds reasonable, although I'd rather see her sent back to town to do something (so we won't feel we have to go rescue her). I think between Vug's Disable Device and the other spellcasters' Detect Magic, we should be able to make do.

By the way, I just have to say that I'm really enjoying this game. It's moving along smoothly and everyone seems to be having fun. And we haven't had much turnover either, other than Chisora and Rhiannon (R.I.P.).

Resist Fire is always cool so you could bomb away without fear of hurting the front-line fighter...i.e. me!

I assumed we sold the extra bow; that's how I calculated Vug's share of the treasure as 1081 gp. Let me know if my calculations were off...

I'd suggest that Valgrim should carry the rope; he's a strong dude. Vug will carry the potion of Remove Fear; she has an alchemist "spell" that allows us to reuse potions (ewww...).

Since we're about to wrap up Three Faces of Evil, I thought it would be nice to resurrect this thread. I will try to insert a few encounters of my own before we move on (you have a long way to travel) before we go on, just to get some more feel for the campaign world.

Just a big ol' thank you to you all. This is an amazing group and I'm learning a lot about clever play from you, and the post rate and commitment is fantastic.

I'll try to keep the game running as long as possible, but I have to admit I didn't expect us to get this far when I started the game.

This game is definitely in the elite group of games I've played in that actually made it through a whole adventure, let alone two! In my experience, the lion's share of the credit should go to the GM; knowing when to move things along and which details to include and which to ignore are hard skills to master.

I just noticed this, Valgrim -- a large greataxe does 3d6 damage, not 2d8, so you were slightly short-changing yourself on damage.

EDIT: I also noticed that we're just a gnat's whisker (200 xp) away from level 5!

So looking at some of the stuff we ended up with, Feres has a far greater number of spells that have durations so he'll benefit fore from the Lesser Maetamagic Extend rod.

Vulcan can definitely make use of the arcane scrolls.

Anyone have a preakdown of monetary loot since Vulcan joined?

I say the Headband to Bubba, the scrolls go to Vulcan, the Rod to Friar, the necklace to Vug, and we sell the bracers and the shield. Or Headband to Vulcan, necklace to Bubba...you guys can work that out! Valgrim would like the Potion of Shield of Faith +4 and the 1 potion of protection from arrows.

How powerful are the fireballs on the necklace of missiles?

Let's see: the fireballs are 3d6, the feathers are feather tokens(two birds, one whip). I must also have forgotten to mention a Wand of Magic missiles (38 charges).

About the scrolls: I only counted 6 scrolls in all (maybe there was a slight confusion since you fought the acolytes twice). Vulcan used two in the fight with the Faceless One. The remaining scrolls are of Lightning Bolt and Summon Monster III.

Vulcan would like the scrolls and the wand (as a backup weapon, I think Vug should have the necklace, Feres the wand, Bub the headband and Valgrim any and everything that boosts hid ACor hp since he is our frontline.


Agreed. I think Valgrim should take the Amulet of Natural Armor +1 that Allustan offered, and any of the the potions that he wants.

The other distributions look good to me. Feres will very happily accept the Lesser Metamagic Rod of Extend.

Does Vulcan want to take the Bracers of Armor +1? The AC will stack with your Shield spell.

Thanks for the Amulet, it's on my sheet. Looking through the thread, I see we have a Brooch of Shielding (88 hps) and a Handy Haversack that no one ever claimed so feel free to claim those.


Would the Handy Haversack be useful for Vug? For storing and easy retrieval of all of her tanglefoot bags, alchemists fires, and other alchemical devices?

With Valgrim having the Amulet of Natural Armor and Vug the Necklace of Fireballs, I think that leaves Vulcan, Bubba, and Feres with neck slots open for the Brooch of Shielding.

I think I'd rather just sell the necklace of fireballs (sale value = 450 gp). Vug has plenty of bombs, and if we really need some backup fireballs we could buy a scroll of fireball for Vulcan to use. A 3d6 fireball with DC 14 and a 70' range isn't that exciting IMO, even if you ignore the drawback of having it possibly explode around your neck on a failed save vs. fire.

Vug will gladly take the haversack; it might come in handy for storing potions, for instance.
