I know this is sudden but I am announcing that I will no longer be running this game due to deep differences between Valgrim and myself on how it should be run. I enjoyed it immensely and learned a lot. I believe that there is at least one other GM (GM Blood) who said he would be willing to take over or perhaps Valgrim himself will take the reins. Any of you are welcome to contact me at any time.

Had a lot of fun and will see many of you around

Female Elf Alchemist (preservationist) 18

Thanks for volunteering your time!

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

Sorry to see you go, but I can't say I don't understand. See you around, my friend.

Male Human Sorceror (Stormborn) 18

I appreciate your efforts and had a good time. I can definitely understand. Take it easy.

Male Dwarf Ranger 16/Barbarian 2/Fighter 2/Champion 2 HP: 334/334; AC:34/15/30; F +31 (+33); R +22; W +16 (+18); Init: +11 (+17); Percep: +27 (+29); Hero Points: 5/5; Mythic Power: 7/7; Rage: 14/14

For the record, I voiced an opinion and GM took it personally. I offered to leave game and instead he quit. So I apologize to all for the tyrant that you think I have been and it was fun while it lasted, at least for me.

Cleric of Sarenrae 20/Hierophant 2 HP: 253/253; AC:32/15/27; F +24; R +18; W +28; Init: +11; Percep: +29; Hero Points: 3/3 Channel: 7/8; Quicken Rod 3/3; Extend Lesser Rod: 0/3; Intensified Rod: 3/3; Maximize: 3/3; Greater Maximize: 0/3; Mythic Power: 3/7

Sorry to see you go, GM. I think we all have at one time or another seen some stuff in this AP that we call BS in our heads (the fang dragon's stealth roll comes to mind), but we stay quiet to keep the game moving, Perhaps Valgrim's opinion or criticism or whatever it was was poor discretion on his part not an attempt to undermine you as a GM. Just throwing it out to see if you'll stay. I also think that we are adults and a thick skin (Barkskin +5) is a prerequisite. Maybe you guys can work it out. If I can't change your mind, then take care.

Yes, Valgrim did offer to leave but that would probably be harder on the continuation of this campaign than me simply stepping aside. I do not have as much blood, sweat, and tears in this game. I enjoyed the game immensely and it was a build up of things not just one. Don't get me wrong, I am not angry but neither will I enjoy continuing with the current dynamic. I play to have fun, and once that stops than I move on to different things. Life is too short. I enjoyed my time with the game and honestly hope someone might step up for you.

Well, since I feel responsible for costing you the GM, I could DM this game for the rest of you and find a convenient disappearing act for Valgrim. I am sure I can go scouring into my stored Dungeon mags, if necessary. My mapping won't be anywhere near the quality of what we had but it will be sufficient. Or we can wait to see if someone else wants to DM such a high level game or we can let game end. Let me know.

I hate to see TWTW go, but I understand.

I am fine with Lucendar moving forward as GM, but I see no reason for Valgrim to fade away. The party is Valgrim and those that support him. Without Valgrim, the game might as well end. I trust that you will play Valgrim with an even hand.

I agree with that 100%.

I think I'll take the opportunity to bow out of this game as well. It's becoming all too apparent to me that super-high-level play is too much like work and/or rocket launcher tag for my taste. If someone is willing to take over Vug's character, I'd be honoured to have her continue!

Male Dwarf Ranger 16/Barbarian 2/Fighter 2/Champion 2 HP: 334/334; AC:34/15/30; F +31 (+33); R +22; W +16 (+18); Init: +11 (+17); Percep: +27 (+29); Hero Points: 5/5; Mythic Power: 7/7; Rage: 14/14

Seems like the nail in the coffin to me....it's been a blast!

Cleric of Sarenrae 20/Hierophant 2 HP: 253/253; AC:32/15/27; F +24; R +18; W +28; Init: +11; Percep: +29; Hero Points: 3/3 Channel: 7/8; Quicken Rod 3/3; Extend Lesser Rod: 0/3; Intensified Rod: 3/3; Maximize: 3/3; Greater Maximize: 0/3; Mythic Power: 3/7

So that's it??? Get all the way to 18th level and stop....Seems so anti-climatic....lol.

Female Elf Alchemist (preservationist) 18

Hey, if you can get someone to jump in and GM, by all means keep going! :-)

From my point of view, almost 5 years and 18 levels is a huge accomplishment, not an anti-climax at all.

Male Human Sorceror (Stormborn) 18

This is true.

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

Indeed. I'm a latecomer, so I can hardly claim to having reached 18th level, really. I was in the other group that Black Tom decided he couldn't manage and spun off, though, so I was there at the beginning...

::The humanoid form of TWTW reforms from the wriggling masses of worms that crawl from the moist soil::

And with everyone's agreement and blessing this campaign has returned to the living. Vug is always welcome to rejoin at any point.

We have Friar Ferez's actions for the morning. What is everyone else doing?

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

Hmm... Looks like I leveled up but didn't put it in my character sheet. Bublaka can't think of anything special to do to start the day other than getting his affairs in order. These near-death experiences are worrying him.

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Female Elf Alchemist (preservationist) 18

Feel free to recruit a new player for Vug!

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

OK, Bubba should be leveled up.

Male Human Sorceror (Stormborn) 18

Ok just need to check everything and get back up to speed.

Ok picked 9th level spell.

Bublaka? Vulcan? Are you around? I am waiting to hear from you both before continuing on. I don't mind a slower pace if that is what is needed.

haven't had much time today. I'll see if I can get a post out later tonight or tomorrow at the latest.

Ok, so if I am reading the Soften Earth and Stone spell right, what it will do is peel away a one to two foot foot section of the tumbled boulder and rubble collapse area per spell cast (It affects vertical sufaces, which this is). It looks as if it just affects a surface area of 60' square feet. This wouldn't be that deep a hole anyway if you were allowed to burrow with it (probably 10-15 foot deep at 2-3' foot wide and 5' foot high). Plus, I think it would require someone to make some engineering rolls to make the tunnel stable so it wouldn't collapse again. Any other thoughts or ideas? Do you want to try more mephits? Valgrim is pretty sure the collapsed area goes for at least 50' feet (probably further) based on the size of the entrance and the area that appears to have collapsed. Those giants appear to have done a damn fine job of sealing themselves in.

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

Would Vug have access to gaseous form as an alternative? I like the idea of the mephits, but I like the idea of not opening the door for the dragon to follow us without a little work.

Cleric of Sarenrae 20/Hierophant 2 HP: 253/253; AC:32/15/27; F +24; R +18; W +28; Init: +11; Percep: +29; Hero Points: 3/3 Channel: 7/8; Quicken Rod 3/3; Extend Lesser Rod: 0/3; Intensified Rod: 3/3; Maximize: 3/3; Greater Maximize: 0/3; Mythic Power: 3/7

Okay Bubba, one mass gaseous form coming up.

as one of your lurkers, I just want to say I'm glad to see this game still active, and I have no idea how you all can keep track of high level play :D

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

Kind of you to say. I don't know that I deserve much credit, though - Valgrim and Friar set a pretty high bar and I'm just trying to keep up.

Don't have time right this moment but I'll try and give you a tactical map this evening with the dragons last known locations marked.

@Zerombr: Glad to see your still around and watching :) Yeah, high level play is definitely a challenge to keep straight and it tends to be fast and deadly. Got to keep track of all your assets or things get lost in the shuffle and bad things happen. Mistakes happen and just have to be rolled with from time to time.

Ok, tactical map setup and should be the current map. Go ahead and finalize your starting point.

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

I put a red box on the map near one of the dragons on one of the buildings - or his former position. Proposing that as the drop point.

So....did everyone but Bublaka go on vacation or something? Been over a week since we have heard anything from everyone else.

Male Dwarf Ranger 16/Barbarian 2/Fighter 2/Champion 2 HP: 334/334; AC:34/15/30; F +31 (+33); R +22; W +16 (+18); Init: +11 (+17); Percep: +27 (+29); Hero Points: 5/5; Mythic Power: 7/7; Rage: 14/14

Sorry, had busy week, will post tonight.

No problem at all, just making sure everything was still ok.

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

I just realized - looking at my post from three weeks ago - that the box on the map that I thought was someone else's ("Wonder why they left that there?") was mine. Oops! I've removed it now.

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

I will be away for a week. I suspect posting will be restricted or non-existent. Feel free to bot Bubba as necessary.

Male Human Sorceror (Stormborn) 18

The biggest problem right now is that they're outside of the range of the vast majority of my useful spells.

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

Where do you need to be? I might know a guy...

I'm hoping everything with Vulcan is ok. I hesitate to press forward without his action because your dealing with such tough opponents.

Male Human Sorceror (Stormborn) 18

Will post in the next half hour, couple busy days at work.

Good to hear from you. Understand where your coming from as I have been quite busy myself lately.

I am out of country on vacation until Sunday. If someone could dispel hand, I would appreciate. :)

My computer totally died 2 days ago. Been following the action but posting is a chore from my phone. Working on getting it fixed.

Male Dwarf Ranger 16/Barbarian 2/Fighter 2/Champion 2 HP: 334/334; AC:34/15/30; F +31 (+33); R +22; W +16 (+18); Init: +11 (+17); Percep: +27 (+29); Hero Points: 5/5; Mythic Power: 7/7; Rage: 14/14

Understandable, thanks for update.

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

Yup, sorry about the grief, but I'd rather hear it was the computer than you, you know?

Yeah, it's creating...issues for me. Gotta reaquire critter stats and such and have to get Roll 20 setup on my other less effective devices. The computer has been on the outs for awhile and finally decided it has had enough. Looking to see if I have the budget to replace it. Otherwise it is just my phone and this little notebook(that I am using to type this).

I hope to get a game post out by tomorrow at the latest. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Male Dwarf Ranger 16/Barbarian 2/Fighter 2/Champion 2 HP: 334/334; AC:34/15/30; F +31 (+33); R +22; W +16 (+18); Init: +11 (+17); Percep: +27 (+29); Hero Points: 5/5; Mythic Power: 7/7; Rage: 14/14

Take your time. GM. Trust me, I have DMed some games on this board and I know how hard they are to manage. Now multiply that by 20x to equal what you are doing at so high level and doing it well! We can wait.

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

What Valgrim said. Take your time.

Male Dwarf Ranger 16/Barbarian 2/Fighter 2/Champion 2 HP: 334/334; AC:34/15/30; F +31 (+33); R +22; W +16 (+18); Init: +11 (+17); Percep: +27 (+29); Hero Points: 5/5; Mythic Power: 7/7; Rage: 14/14

Vulcan, you are up. :)

Sorry for the delay. Been on the road. Thought I would have more time to post (I usually do) but things have gotten away from me. Hope to post soon.

Friar, correct me if I am wrong, but you made the reflex save and have a ring of evasion, so shouldn't you take no damage then?
