I'd prefer to have you name my bleachling slave, Yuugasa. More engaging that way. A brief history would be nice as well but it isn't important and I can fill that in myself.

super busy night tonight..lots to do at work. I hope I can catch up tonight otherwise I may not be available until tomorrow afternoon sometime.

Bleached gnomes don't really fit into the setting that well, I had guessed since you wanted a specific subrace you had some idea of who you wanted them to be, but if not, that's cool. If you don't want to name the gnome we can call 'em "Collean."

Oh, that name is fine. I only wanted your opinion as you have a better idea of the setting and what's appropriate. My own idea for her history is that the bleaching is a direct consequence of her enslavement--that is, her thorough enslavement caused her wonder and curiosity to be removed, accelerating the bleaching process. She survived through luck plus a little magic with a direct command to stay alive.

Before her enslavement I imagined she was one of those travelling to seek out new experiences to stave off the bleaching, only to fall to it anyway. She may or may not have had companions caught with her that either failed to survive or was sold off to others.

Johann chose the bleachling because she's interesting but also as a reminder, and I wanted her because of the symbolism. Johann is a man who has chosen to seek out new experiences--he chose a slave that failed to do so and bears open signs of the consequence. He finds that beautiful.

Alright, sounds good to me.

Sorry guys but I'm gonna have to take a break for a bit. I've been sick for awhile and it is has gotten much worse with a high fever and broken concentration.

I will have to postpone posting until Sunday the 15th, that should give me time to recover.

Feel free to continue the current roleplaying if you like otherwise I'll see you guys soon.

Also, I like this song. It's stuck in my head now and I wish I knew of it when Valentines came around just so I could have played it then. :P

So, question here Yuugasa. Sibylla was built with the intention of using early entry into Mystic Theurge. How does the recent FAQ ruling affect her in this game?

ok all looking for fellow player input, I am prepared to attack the guards but I also want to try and get more info out of them. I don't think the ruse will last much longer.

I might be able to get a few of them but, alone she may not be able to get them all and get the gate open. I sure can try though.

We're at a "now what" kinda spot aren't we? My first thought is the old Trojan Horse maneuver; you're inside now. If you can keep up the ruse overnight, we can dismiss the Bone Devils and try to give the guards a false sense of security... once they agree to go look for your mother, boom, we fall on them.

Just one thought.

ok I asked for some advice, got some, not much.

I want to be sure we work together at this. so quickly, lets formulate a plan.

I suggest that Annie gets the gates open, and uses tibbers to take care of the guards inside, and help keep the gates open.

Angelica, signals the others to come up, while she dispatches the guards outside.

unless I am visualizing this scene wrong.

There are five guards inside around you but none outside, where the bridge leads from the gates to the mainland where the devils wait and the party hides.

ok that changes things a little, I wasn't quite sure Angelica came inside the gates, I thought she was still outside and the guards opened the gates to let her in as well and Annie went out there.

so, in any event lets decide a plan to get the whole party inside.

Hey guys,

Sorry to do this, but I think I'll have to retire this game... being this is my third time through Brandescar, I'm just not into it as much as I'd like to be.

Much as I'd like to continue, I just not invested in it like I should be. Luckily, you've got a multitude of characters here.

Best of luck!

Damien

Yeah, It's all good, the pace has been slow since a couple months ago when I had to take that long break.

In addition I'm discovering that I am not good at running a premade adventure path and making it exciting. All my previous and current PbP games have been homebrew originals and have gone much better.

Not sure what my issue is, it seems I have a problem making someone else's story my own.

I've been feeling the low energy of this game for awhile and I'm not sure how to fix it. I think part of the issue is my own enthusiasm, my normal style of GMing involves setting up complicated situations then letting the PCs do what they like but an adventure path is more restrictive than that, while I am not bored my lack of enthusiasm is showing through, my descriptions more sparse, my characters flatter.

Definitely gonna keep my promise and run the game til it is either complete or no one wants to keep playing but I am looking for inspiration to make it better.

If any of you guys have any suggestions I am all ears.=)

one thing I suggest (been done with other AP's is, find the key points of each books that are needed to move the story. everything else is like homebrew. do your own thing.

also weave PC personal stories into the plot. introduce NPC's that come from the PC's back stories in place of presented NPC's

also if something in the AP does not make sense then change it.

the AP is yours to be a backdrop the GM and the players make the story.

Everything you've said makes sense, I've already added a bit of homebrew, are you guys cool if I add a healthy dose of my own stories into this game? It will still be recognizably Way of the Wicked but with a lot of extra material(and maybe a few bits I find boring cut)?

Alright, I am getting homebrewy with it, that should increase my fun and hopefully everyone elses as well. =)

Back, catching up on posts now.

As for the game, the enjoyment of the game is very important. If the GM isn't enjoying it posts will become slower and slower and the game will die. I've played through most of the first book before and noticed there seem to be several parts that can easily be cut or altered with out issue for the story (they might turn out to important) particularly in the boat trip.
I've been very happy with your GMing style so far particularly the extra NPCs, the only thing I would say is that sending us back to the prison bogs down the game rather than rewarding us for avoiding a lot of the combat. Given that you started us more powerfully missed treasure shouldn't make much difference, and can be given in other ways.
