The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Haha! Welcome! This is quite the experience for your first PbP!

There is a spoiler below the paying box that says "How to format your text" That will show you the how of it.

Speech is usually bolded, thoughts are italicized.

Male Human Expert 2/Alchemist 1/Warrior 1

I am deeply grateful that you have not yet managed to roll above 9.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Yes, yes you are. ;)

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

There will be a 12.

We will suffer. :p

Seriously.. I take a nap, and wake up to a huge amount of posts. Maniacs. :D

Lantern Lodge

Kingdoms! Kingdom Mapping!

How do you think I feel Mem?

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

What I'm hearing is that we are moving a bit fast for some folks. I'll take the updates down a notch.

Male Human Expert 2/Alchemist 1/Warrior 1

I wonder, how many characters are involved right now? I'll do a quick head count.

There's Gaspard,
Viktor the paladin,
Morgrym the halfling,
Thomas terrakin,
Ainolas the barbarian,
York, scout,

Seems like that's it for characters that have posted, yeah? Sorry if I overlooked someone. There was a dot or two, but no actions posted arrached to those alias.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

I think some people are just following the thread, which is fine by me.

I'll post the next update *evil grin* when everyone is "prepared".

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

No arguments with the posting pace. Ainolas is still in that "Whaaa?" state after the conscription.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Cool. Still, I don't want to leave anyone behind and cause problems. That's why I'm pausing here, to give everyone a chance to brace. This isn't catching you totally off guard.

Male Human Expert 2/Alchemist 1/Warrior 1

I can never remember, can you do a 5'step in a surprise round?

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

I say yes. Some say no for some reason. That reason usually be hair-splitting, pedantic rules lawyering. (Not to disparage rules layers, but the extent to which some people on these boards take it is a little crazy. Those are the people who would probably tell you no.)

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Two Nat. 20's and a DC 18 burning hands. Youall are starting this off well. :)

Gespard: If I had rolled any higher on your "Fate Die", as I'm coming to call it, they would have.

I'm basically rolling a d20 to prevent me from just being cruel or fickle. The higher you roll, the more instant the pain/death/dismemberment. So far, only York has rolled above a 9. :)

Heh, the sad thing is, I like to be one of thoes guys, except about half my "knowledge" of the intricacies of RAW comes from careful readings of 3,5 rules, so I'm wrong most of the time.

On another note, I hope we don't die right now. Those guys look like they might be dangerous.

Will we be keeping XP, or just level up whenever?

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

I'll let you know when you level. I'll be using XP as a guide, but might not level you exactly when XP dictates.

Whoop whoop for the decision to use trench warfare and hide under dead bodies.

Male Human Expert 2/Alchemist 1/Warrior 1

Can you use demoralize to stack fear effects, if you can get multiple off in one round?

Perhaps making plans for my next character shall prove to be tantamount to taunting the Dice of Fate. We shall see.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Intimidate based effects do not stack with other fear effects, no.

Male Human Expert 2/Alchemist 1/Warrior 1

Happy new year! Cleaning up sucks, though.

Male Human Expert 2/Alchemist 1/Warrior 1

Loot! Whoo! Get the medals!

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

You can gather four light maces, four tower shields, and, if you take the time, for suits of bloody leather armour.

Viktor, Male Human Paladin 1 | AC 20/12/14 | HP 6/16 | F +4, R +2, W +2 | CMB +3, CMD 14 | Init +1 | Perc +1

Are you sure you don't mean flails? ;)

Ooh bloody dead guys armor
That's good mojo, right?

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Yes. How flail auto-corrected to mace I don't know, but there you have it.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Autocorrect is trying to cheat for us.

Male Human Expert 2/Alchemist 1/Warrior 1

OhholycrapIjustnoticedthegametitle

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

There may or may not be a reason for that...
;)

I'm gonna try to get a nap up in the next couple hours. Craziness had descended upon me.

Lantern Lodge

Nice choon, nice.

Question, I take it that you are color coding enemies, can you give us a basic appearance of each color, so that we know what we are seeing.

Also, since Vik is presumably using a tower shield and advancing, can i stand behind him and use him and it as cover, and duck around to fire rocks at people in the interrim? Or would that be cheesing a little too much?

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Blue is your allies, the mages in this case. The are dressed in simple padded armour, but are close to defenceless. The red I'd your foe, the massive guy with a double ax. The red on the left is down. I forgot to remove it.

You can stand behind him for addict cover, but the shield can't provide full cover unless set.

Get 'im.
Go team!

Male Human Expert 2/Alchemist 1/Warrior 1

Hmm. That wall, the one that seems to seperate the badass 11th level fighter (oh gods I hope that's not it) and mogrym, would it prevent mogrym from being roast by burning hands? Because it seems to me like there's room for one of those, long as I take a 5step upwards, it shouldn't hit anyone but the greataxe guy. ANd maybe Mogrym, if the line on the map isn't a solid wall.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

The thick black lines are solid, yes.

And if you're guessing mechanics, he failed to hit an AC 18 with a 9, so he's level 5 at most. ;)

Viktor, Male Human Paladin 1 | AC 20/12/14 | HP 6/16 | F +4, R +2, W +2 | CMB +3, CMD 14 | Init +1 | Perc +1

I'm guessing the Mage provoked an AoO, although with a retreat action he shouldn't have.

Retreat action only helps you with the first square though. The way the map looked, it's entirely possible that he couldn't avoid an AoO.

Male Human Expert 2/Alchemist 1/Warrior 1

CampinCarl or Me'mori, could you have Viktor or Ainolas take a 5' step or move so that mogrym can step up and flank with you?

that is what I am ready and waiting to do and posted that I did Dragon

I'm going to be around guys, but I thought I had ducked the tidal wave of flu and cold bugs going around my office, and now that everyone else has gotten over it, now I have one.

I may be a little spotty the next few days.

Sovereign Court

Male Flowing Monk| HP 9/12 AC 16 |PerC +6 |Init +4 F+3/R+6/W+4

One of these days, GM, I'm going to bug you for the Fate table you're using. Seems to be well set for pacing.

Viktor, Male Human Paladin 1 | AC 20/12/14 | HP 6/16 | F +4, R +2, W +2 | CMB +3, CMD 14 | Init +1 | Perc +1

Holy crap, how are you doing 4d4 damage with burning hands at level 1?

Male Human Expert 2/Alchemist 1/Warrior 1

+1CL from a trait, +2CL from Spell Specialization.

It's apparently a classic build, I didn't know that there was a guide for it out there untill a while back.

They call it the 'Blockbuster wizard', it seems, although it's more concerned with high-level fireballs than burning hands, although that is the low-level version of the idea.

Ok guys, sorry for the downtime. Mostly over this flu, first day back at work. will do my best to be up and at things later today.

Quick question choon:

Thomas is currently on 0 hp. He can move and be a body, but if he takes any standard action he is going to start bleeding out.

Question I have is: This emergency potion and bandages. Does the potion act immediately and the bandages take longer, or is it all a single use type of thing? Also, would it prevent him from bleeding out from taking standard actions?

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

The potion is immediate, yes. The bandages will take overnight. Drinking a potion would make you pass out, but then the potion would wake you back out, so I'll say you can drink the potion without fear.

Thomas Groundpounder - Human Terrakineticist 1

Cool, so unless anyone has any objections, i'll go ahead and pop the potion for now, and we can use the bandages and herbs later.

I am in agreement with that.

This game is actually less deadly than I originally thought.

Cue the falling rocks.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

yaaaa... Take a look at that fate dice. See how it's rolled low most times? ya...
