She gives Ms. Yulia a nod before enjoying her muffin between sips of the delicious hot chocolate beverage.
After taking a few bites she swallows and looks at her mama and Auntie Priya, "So, did you have fun while you were out?"
Asha nods. "It was nice."
Giving them a smile she says, "Good, I'm glad you got some time to yourselves to just enjoy the day."
"I might do it again someday," Asha says.
She smiles, "I think that would be a wonderful idea. Maybe next time we can take a picnic in the park...or on the beach? I guess it depends on the crazy weather." She says a little thoughtfully.
Asha smiles. "We'll see."
Getting an excited look on her face she nods and goes back to eating her dinner.
Savoring her hot chocolate she looks at Hitome, "Oh my...I've never had anything like this before in my life. It's just so....so rich and tasty, and this muffin is warm and delicious too. This place is going to spoil me Hitome and if I'm not careful I'm going to get huge." She says with a chuckle while looking a bit startled at the sound that came out of her. Did that just come out of me? She wonders to herself while looking a little surprised.
Hitome laughs, happy to hear sounds of genuine enjoyment coming from Jin. "There's definitely an abundance of delicious treats here so far."
Sipping her hot chocolate she nods, "Well....I think we've tried just about every place here except that one that Ms. Toni was talking about. I guess we can try that Hadrinn's place for dinner?" She asks before finishing the rest of her muffin in a couple of bites and washing it down with the remainder of her hot chocolate.
"Anything else I can get you?" Yulia asks, picking up Jin's empty mug.
She shakes her head, "Personally I'm stuffed. It was very delicious though, so thank you. Hitome...did you want anything else or are you alright for now?"
"I'm good. That was very delicious, thank you." Hitome replies smiling. "We can definitely try Hadrinn's later.....much later." she says with a chuckle feeling quite full.
She nods, "Oh yes...much much later." Looking up at Yulia she asks, "So how much do we owe you for the delicious goodies and beverage?"
"A silver for the both of you," Yulia says.
Standing up she reaches into her pouch and pulls out a silver. Handing it to Yulia she smiles before pulling her heavy hooded cloak around her, "Okay...so what should we do now?" She asks, not sure what else they could do that wouldn't involve freezing their butts off outside.
"That's the question. I'm not sure what else we can do that doesn't require walking around outside in the cold." Hitome says, considering that Jin was far more affected by the weather than she was.
She sighs, "Maybe we should just go back to the common house? I don't think I should risk getting sick our first day here....and I think we have a pretty good idea of where most things are here. Besides, all this eating and walking around has kind of made me tired."
"That makes sense. It is probably best that we take it easy today." Hitome agrees.
She nods, "Have a good day Ms. Yulia." She says before leaving. Once outside they head back to the common house.
Getting to their room she stretches and yawns, "I think I want a little nap before dinner. All this exploring has really made me tired." She says while going to her bag and pulling out the long thick red nightgown that she had brought with her.
Looking over at Hitome as she sits on the bed to take off her boots she asks, "Is that okay? I'm pretty sure I'll still be able to sleep tonight if I take a little nap for an hour or two. As long as I don't nap for too long." She didn't want Hitome to feel like she was being ignored or anything, she was just so tired after everything they had dealt with so far.
She gets changed into the nightgown before taking the combs out of her hair and letting it fall around her face. Taking her clothes she carefully folds them and sets them on the dresser before going back to her bed and sitting on it while gently massaging her scalp with her fingers where her hair was twisted and pulled back.
With her head feeling better after taking her hair down, she pulls back the covers and lies down in the bed. Snuggling down under the covers she lies on her side as she looks at Hitome, "Do you remember anything....about your parents, or were you....taken to the temple when you were just a baby?" She asks between little yawns.
"How are your classes going, Dillon?" Asha asks as they eat.
"They're going well," Dillon answers. "The students are learning a lot."
Rajni just looks at Dillon and smiles as they eat. She just knew that if her mama took the time to get to know Dillon she would understand why she was so over the moon for him.
"That's good," Asha says with a nod.
Hitome considers her reply for a moment. "Apparently I was only 3 or 4 the best the monks could tell. I don't really have any memories of my parent's. The monastery is the only childhood I've ever known." she says sitting crosslegged on the floor.
She yawns and nods her head, "I understand. I was about five when my parents took me to Yamamoto-Sensei to be trained." She stretches and yawns again before bringing up one of her hands to place beneath her cheek, "I don't remember very much about mine either. Just little things....well....the only thing I really remember is the feeling of my father's arms around me when he would carry me sometimes....and my mother always used to smell like flowers. I don't really remember what they looked like at all. Sometimes I think I miss them....but it's in a very vague abstract way I think. Gyo and Yamamoto-Sensei were always very good to me....so it was okay." She says, sounding sleepy as her eyelids start to droop.
"The town was talking about the shop being closed today," Dillon says.
"The town, eh?" Asha asks with a smirk. "Yes, it was decided that I needed a day off to relax."
Dillon nods. "It's a good idea once in a while."
She nods in agreement, "There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking a little time for yourself once in a while." She says with a smile in her mama's direction.
Juhi finishes her dinner and puts her plate in the sink. "May I be excused?"
Asha nods. "Yes, you may."
She sighs happily after finishing the food on her own plate and leans her head against Dillon's shoulder, "Mmmm...that was delicious."
"That's good, it's very clear how deeply Gyo cares for you,a dn it sounds like your Sensei was kind. I can't say I wanted for anything with the monks, and they definitealy taught me what I would need in the future." Hitome replies, shifting into a cross-legged sitting position and slowly rolling her shoulders to relax them.
As her eyes close she nods slightly, "Mmmhmm....yeah." Is all she's able to say before falling asleep. Curled beneath the blankets soft steady breathing is the only sound that comes from the worn out summoner.
Hitome smiles as Jin drifts off to sleep, her own breathing slowing methodically as she slowly settles into a meditative state.
"Yes, it was. Thank you."
Asha nods. "By the way, Rajni, Halfpocket was looking for you."
She cocks her head to the side, "Really? I wonder what he wants? Maybe he needs me to start my job a little earlier than he thought?" She wonders aloud while sounding a little excited at the prospect of having a real job. Looking a little anxious she looks at Dillon, "Would you like to go with me to talk to him? I'm sure he's probably still open. Would that be okay mama?" She asks one question after another, the excitement apparent in her voice.
Asha nods. "That would probably be for the best."
"Of course I'll go with you."
Smiling she gives her mama a kiss on the cheek before gathering up her and Dillon's dishes and taking them to the sink. She quickly washes them and sets them in the drainer, "Let me just grab my heavy cloak really quick and we can go love." Going to the back door she grabs her heavy winter hooded cloak and puts it on before pulling on her fur lined winter boots, "Okay, I'm all set. Wanna go for a walk Shar?" She asks her cat while petting her head. Shamara rubs against her legs and purrs, "I'll take that as a yes then." She says with a giggle as she holds her hand out to Dillon.
Dillon takes Rajni's hand and opens the door. "Thank you again for dinner, Miss Asha."
She nods, "Yes mama, thank you for dinner. It was very yummy." She says before going outside with Dillon as they head to the general store.
Dillon opens the door for Rajni.
"Thank you love." She says as she goes inside and walks up to the counter.
"There you are," Halfpocket says as Rajni approaches.
