Dillon kisses Rajni's forehead after he puts on his boots. "It does sound really biased."
He laughs and offers her his arm. "Ready?"
Smiling she takes his arm, "Well..it may be biased, but that doesn't make it any less true. With you...I'm always ready."
Dillon smiles and walks back with Rajni to her house.
Rajni sighs happily as they head back to her family's home.
Getting back she opens the door for them and stomps the snow off of her boots before going inside and taking them off, "We're home." She says while announcing their arrival, the happiness in her voice unmistakable.
"Welcome back," Elena says, still on the couch. "Hello, Dillon."
"Evening, Elena," Dillon says, hanging his cloak up.
Rajni hangs her cloak up next to Dillon's before going to Elena, "Are you feeling better now Sis?"
Elena nods. "Yes, much."
She nods, "Good, is there anything I can get you before dinner? Do you know if mama needs help with dinner?" Looking over at Dillon she asks, "Did you want anything to drink before dinner honey?"
Dillon shakes his head. "I can wait."
"Auntie Priya's already helping with dinner," Elena says. "I'm fine, though."
Nodding she takes a seat near the couch, close to Dillon.
"Dinner's ready," Asha says, walking into the living room.
She smiles and stands up, holding her hand out to Dillon.
Dillon takes Rajni's hand.
Juhi runs down the stairs giggling as Shamara chases her.
Rajni looks at her cat and arches an eyebrow but doesn't say anything. After getting to the dining room she takes a seat next to Dillon, "Mmmm...it smells wonderful as usual mama."
Kama waves to Rajni and Dillon as the come in, the hijra pausing the melodious tune she was humming.
Rajni gives Kama a wave back as she sits with Dillon.
Elena stands up and offers her hand to Kama. "Let's go eat."
"It's just roasted chicken and tomato rice," Asha says humbly.
"Ssure." Kama says, taking Elena's hand and making their way to the kitchen.
She smiles at her mama and aunt, "It may be just roasted chicken and tomato rice to you, but to me....it's much more than that."
Asha chuckles. "I can only imagine how you'll react when I start cooking for the holidays."
Her eyes get round as saucers, "I can't wait to taste it!" She says a bit enthusiastically. Looking around the table at the people that had come to mean so much to her, "This will be the first time in my life that I can remember, that I get to spend the holidays with my family...a real family."
Elena smiles as she sits down with Kama. "Oh, it'll definitely be a treat."
She just nods this time, overcome by a surge of feelings that she wasn't quite equipped to deal with yet. She never remembered feeling so loved in all her life and it was a little overwhelming to her.
Dillon squeezes Rajni's hand. "You okay?"
Nodding her head slightly she gives his hand a little squeeze in return, "Yeah...I'm alright love. Just realizing how lucky I am."
Dillon smiles at Rajni as Asha serves dinner.
Rajni gives his hand another light squeeze before serving him some of the food and then serving herself before passing the food down the table.
Juhi takes a little food for herself, giving a small piece of chicken to Shamara.
Rajni smiles, "Looks like you and Shamara have become good friends. Don't feed her at the table too much though okay? We wouldn't want her to learn how to beg while we're trying to eat."
Juhi nods. "I know."
"Okay." She simply replies.
As they're walking through town she smells something delicious coming from a small looking place. Pointing it out to Hitome she asks, "Wanna try that place? There's some really good smells coming from there."
"Sure, if it tastes as good as it smells it should be a treat!" Hitome answers with a smile.
As the two newcomers walk into the cafe, Yulia flashes them a smile. "Welcome to my cafe...I haven't thought of a name yet."
As they go inside she gives the owner a smile in return, "Well...if the food tastes as good as it smells from the outside, I'd say you don't really have to worry about a name as such. It's such a cute little cafe. I'm sorry...where are my manners? My name is Jin and this is Hitome, we're new here and have just been out wandering around trying to get to know this place and some of the people here....and we got a little cold while at the beach. Do you have anything hot to drink?" She thinks for a little bit before adding, "I think I'd like a little something to eat too. What do you have today?" She asks as they find a table to sit at.
"I'm Yulia," the dhampir says. "I have hot chocolate and coffee. For eating, I have chocolate scones, blueberry muffins and cherry tarts."
Giving Yulia a smile she says, "It's nice to meet you Ms. Yulia." Taking only a moment to decide she asks, "Could I have a hot chocolate please and a blueberry muffin?"
"Sure," Yulia replies before turning to Hitome. "And for you?"
" I'll have a hot chocolate as well, and a cherry tart please." Hitome replies.,
"Coming right up," Yulia says, heading into the kitchen. She returns a minute later with two cups of steaming hot chocolate, a cherry tart and a blueberry muffin.
Rajni nods and waits until everyone has their food before digging into hers.
All she can do is sit with her mouth slightly open as Yulia brings out the delicious smelling goodies to them. Looking up at her she sort of stammers for a minute before being able to say something, "Sorry...it just...it smells amazing. Thank you Ms. Yulia." She says before sipping the hot chocolate and sighing softly.
Grinning Hitome breathes in the delicious smells of the pastries. "Yes, thank you." she says with a smile, picking up the hot chocolate and taking a sip.
