Fun shape changing class

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So I've been allowed to recreate my character after a lull in the campaign. I have been playing a sorcerer and I didn't much enjoy playing a blaster/party face. I saw a couple of shape changing sorcerer builds and found them interesting, Crossblooded/Wild Blooded Aberrant/Abyssal Sorcerer, but my GM shot them down for predicting they'd be too broken for the game, which I somewhat agree with. I did try to convince him I'd play him exactly what I want, a Herald of Cthulhu. Shape changing into tentacled monstrosities, casting mind affecting spells, just overall spreading the insanity madness.

Does anyone know how else I can achieve this? Please don't say druid, I despise playing druids

Oracle of the Dark Tapestry is basically made for that concept.

Grab the Many Forms Revelation and the right spells and you're solid to go. It really only kicks in on turning into the weird stuff at 11th, but even as of 3rd you can manage Troglodyte (which is pretty in-theme and has enough natural attacks to be handy).

It's generally pretty mechanically solid, too. Who doesn't like Black Tentacles, Feeblemind, and Planar Binding? And you can heal people, too!

Check out the Skin-Changer class in the New Paths Compendium from Kobold Press

The skin-changer is a brand-new spell-less ranger variant class - instead of a favored enemy and animal companion, the skin-changer can shapeshift into animal form (using a specialized form of wild shape called animal shape) right out of the gate at first level! He also gets a specialized type of combat style, called Animal Combat that makes the skin-changer one heck of a combatant when in animal form

Might be just what the doctor ordered! :)

Is 3PP material allowed?
If so, then Cultic Cryptomancia has what you need: a spell chain to transform yourself in an aberration, and the Eldritch oracle mystery to be the leader of an aberrant-worshiping sect!
But if you want a more generic shapechanger-have you ever considered an alchemist? Multiclass Productions' Master Metamorph could just be your thing. Let me know if it works!
If only Paizo material is allowed, a Dark Tapestry oracle, a Transmuter wizard, or even a Synthetist summoner should do the trick.

Classes and some feat chains from the ultimate series of books are off limits and it's entirely Paizo only

Then a Transmuter/Shapechanger Wizard should be the better choice. But even a straight Alchemist is a good enough shapechanger, expecially with Mythic tiers.

I'll repeat my recommendation of Dark Tapestry Oracle, then. The Mystery is from Ultimate Magic, but so's Cross-Blooded and Wild-Blooded.

Alchemist would also work mechanically, but not as well thematically, IMO.

Agree with Dark Tapestry Oracle.

BTW, crossblooded and wildblooded don't stack.

They MAY stack in homebrew campaigns.
By the way, I think the DT Oracle is the better choice too.
