WT-516: Codename Sig |
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
With no ranged capabilities, Sig could only move up to where the creature levitated himself into the air. He knew enough about the simple magic that he knew the quickly was only capable of going up and down. Going at a full run, he moved to stand near where the creature would have to land once the spell waited. He wouldn't need to eat or sleep. Nor would he age. He could wait for an eternity, something the quickling did not have. "Threatening: The choice is yours. Surrender or die.

Sindri continues to fire arrows at the quicklings.

"I know, sometimes I really hate my distant fey cousins. Easy come, easy go."
Sindri walks up to the bodies and stripe searches them for any valuables or information that may of had on them. He also takes the time to pluck a great number of harpy feathers.
Sindri Quarrysson |
Strip search, also forgot my roll Long day.

GM Ascension |
I hope everyone enjoyed their thanksgiving.
The group is currently a hundred yards or so west of the long pass through the narrow canyons.
The quicklings and harpies themselves have no items of real value on them, but a glint of gold from the harpy nests on the cliff side prompts those capable to climb up to them.
The stench is almost unbearable, but 200 gold pieces are gathered, along with a pair of soft leather boots. Despite the harpy filth covering them, the leather looks to be in very good condition, and checking them for magic proves them to be.
Sig Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Anyone else with detect magic memorized? If not the properties are unknown for now.
From the cliff top, the terrain gently slopes downward into a valley filled with trees. A very thin wisp of smoke makes its way skyward from the center of the trees.
WT-516: Codename Sig |
Sig would detect a trace of magic on the boots, though he wouldn’t be able to decifer it for now. Most of his focus was on the area surrounding them, curious what else might lurk just out of sight after having to deal with the quicklings and harpies. Nevertheless, his lone pink eye locked on to the wisp of smoke as his next destination.
Sindri Quarrysson |
Sindri walks at a slower pace behind Lucius making sure he ventures not too far from the others.
"Who's Im ho tep?"
GM Ascension |
Silas determines the boots to be Daredevil boots.
Lucius moves into the forest, the others following, heading as best as possible towards the source of the smoke.
As the group gets closer to the area, portions of the undergrowth are stamped down, and the broken branches of trees litter the ground, leaving a broad trail leading towards the forest center, and soon the gentle breezes of air are filled with the smell of cooking meat.
The forest has grown thicker though, making it hard to see far.
Any plans you'd like to take on the approach to the area?
GM Ascension |
Making no attempt to cover the noise of his armor or avoid the crackling of leaves and branches, Lucius pushes through the trees until he can see into a clearing.
A number of trees at the southern end have been smashed, broken and shattered. In the center of the clearing is a crude, yet overly sized looking dwelling of some kind. In front of it a 10' wide fire pit burns with a low flame, a large beast skewered on a spit cooking. Next to the fire is a chopping block of some kind, covered in blood, and a horses head resting upon it - only, not a horse head - a single silvery horn protrudes from between the eyes of the of the unfortunate creature.
A large brutish humanoid sits on a log next to the fire turning the spit, though it looks up at the noise Lucius makes.
Two more of the brutish looking creatures stand farther to the west, toothy grins spreading across their faces as Lucius comes into view. One speaks in broken common, "Ha, looks like dessert as well."
Ogres. Dangerous brutes, who revel in violence, known for their great strength and ferocity in battle.
Init Creature 1: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
Init Creature 2: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Init Creature 3: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16
The closest creature is 25' away from Lucius. A bit farther from everyone else. No clear charge path due to the trees. Staying within the trees will give partial cover. More than 15' of distance in the trees provides total cover - going both ways - so you cannot attack out of the trees from more than 15' distance.
Anyone getting 16 or higher on init may act. No surprise round,
so a full round of actions.

Sigfried had stayed close to his friends until the great beasts had appeared. He knew the creatures well by appearance, ogres had a nasty reputation of eating anything they could get their grubby mits on, or destroying things for fun. The latter had often plagued his own people and one of the reasons the War Titans like himself had been built. Standing back, he would take a defensive stance to watch the ugly beasts, waiting for them to barrel a pathway through the trees for him in order to kill them.
Total Defense action. AC +4 until next turn

With his enemies in sight and close now, Sig would charge into the battle. He knew no fear as his purpose and design kicked in, ready for battle to defend those he had chosen to protect rather than whom he had been told to. It was far more exhilarating he found now that he could recognize choice.
