For some reason I set up a second game thread for Group 2, but not for Group 1.

Dazed though he is, Lyan still manages to land a telling blow on the Blademaster. Aware that the psychic connection will only pull if back if it moves, the Blademaster lashes out at Levana.

Akemi keeps her focus and bloodies the Blademaster with one fell stroke of her fullblade.

With a squelch of descending fungus, the zephyr moves towards Lyan almost too fast for the eye to follow and drives its short sword deep into the hobgoblin.

Behind the zephyr, a fungus filled pit leads somewhere.

Norrin says it with missiles, re-affirming his fondness for lucky Swarm 2. The scarabs seems unappreciative as several of them are impaled. The half-orc moves around to give himself a fresh view of his favourite insects.

Cry Havoc: On the first round of combat (or both the first and the surprise round if your allies gain a surprise round), allies who start their turn within 10 squares of you gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls.


Samson moves to a more strategically suitable position and points out an opening to Norrin.

With bow drawn and using the curvature of the vat as cover, Norrin slices the (metaphorical) pie, "mmm... pie."

RBA 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19 S2 AC; 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 damage.


Overcome by tactical options, Norrin inadvertantly does damage to the floor. The twang of his arrow does attract the swarms however, and scarab beetles surge over the half-orc's feet. Possibly half-orc is a new flavour to them, as they seem to find the ranger exceptionally toothsome.

The hobgoblin finally shakes off the ill effects of the quicklings' attacks, after one more failed attack on the blademaster.

Lyan returns to full functionality in time to see the Blademaster come to a decision. Out-matched and unable to do much to harm the group, he shifts swiftly away and vanishes from sight.

Fey Strike - shifts 10 squares and can make an attack if it ends the move adjacent to a creature which is has CA against. Irrelevant in this case. Then moves speed 12.

Darwyn's shout is pitched to demolish quantities of Swarm 2 and Norrin takes the opportunity to slide through the distressed insects.

Two things:
One - the swarms are vulnerable 10 to close and area attacks.
Two - Akemi got a free shift 5 at the end of the Blademaster's turn, although since he didn't end adjacent to her.

Akemi is borne on a divine wind to pursue the evil fey. She is surprised (but obviously this is not evident) to see a different one, but she changes her focus to this one.

Until the end of your next turn, the target takes 10 damage the first time it uses an attack other than a basic attack


As slight and swift as she is, Akemi is no quickling, able to walk at will on any surface. No sooner does her foot touch the fungus than a cloud of toxic spores fly upwards. Involuntarily, she breathes in and drops like a stone. As she falls, it becomes clear that below the fungus lie rusted spikes. The attack on the zephyr dies stillborn as she vanishes beneath the viscous mess.

Fungus attacks v Fort when a creature enters it. On hit target is knocked unconscious (se) and falls prone. Creatures falling prone in the pit trigger a secondary attack v AC (-5AC penalty for unconscious characters).

OK, so I still have Defining Cut, as I never made the attack. I also get a save at the end of my turn:

Despite his disease-ridden wound, or even because of it, Norrin swiftly impales many beetles on his arrow. The missile now looks like an irredescent kebab. More importantly, the swarm has lost half its numbers.

The half-orc resorts to the simple attack he learned when he first picked up a bow.

"Does this look bad to you?" He asks while pointing to his disease-ridden scarab beetle bite, "it feels kinda cold."


Norrin's basic shot fails to skewer any more beetles and the insects turn their attention to the next living object in their path - the rapier wielding bard.

EDIT: Akemi - I don't think I made it clear enough that moving through the fungus will trigger an attack. Do you want to rethink?

Darwyn stabs at the swarms, but as before, they simply scurry away from his blade.

Of the zephyr, there is no sign at all.
