Shadow's Status

Once the adjudication in the PvP thread is complete, I will update here once again.

For now Rennah if you are running towards the compound it will be over open ground at the security post as the only trees in the area are by the administration building inside of the defensive perimeter.

Errin stays put near the buildings outside of the CSA perimeter.

You are a good 200 meters outside of the compound which is fairly heavily patrolled and guarded.

Rennah begins to move forward over the open ground

GM LF ONLY:
Perception CSA 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

when you are within 50 meters of the perimeter one of the guards turns towards you and calls out raising his hand, "Halt! You are not authorized to enter through this area citizen. The compound is on lockdown until tomorrow morning".

I will get a map up by tomorrow for this.

Considering your lack of social skills (Deception, Persuasion) or Force powers, probably not, unless you can roll a 20 to convince him the planetary governor sent you! You've got Deflect and Redirect, though, so you could always bull your way in.

No, not from that far away, at least not on the first round. I believe each square of movement is about a meter and a half. I have to check the book for how much Running increases base speed but it would be at least 2-3 rounds unless you have Surge. As his weapon is not raised you would be able to get a bit closer before he shoots, remember though, he is not alone... Map forthcoming tonight!

Only a portion of the compound is seen. There are more patrols, an airfield with ships, and many many many people here! It is a big operation. Garrett and Kaldo have the element of surprise and will have an easier time exiting than you will entering now that they are on alert. Your action Rennah, Errin you can sit tight or bring your transport over to Rennah to pick her up.

The guard nods at you response as you withdraw.

Rennah Perception DC 20:
IN the distance, you see a transport come around the building, you would bet that's the one that Kaldo and Garrett just stole! Within 2 minutes max it will be approaching that soft perimeter.

Errin Perception DC 17:
As you stand guard, you see that explosion in the CSA compound has gotten the attention of some of the locals who are coming out of their hidey holes to see what all the commotion is about. Most look worse for the wear if not outright infected. Maybe 7 in all, it is not clear if they would be a threat to Rennah.

Completely oblivious to her surroundings, Rennah continues her run back towards where Errin is currently hiding.

Keeping her rifle trained on the compound, Errin keeps one eye on the crowd, watching for signs of aggression.

As Rennah heads back to Errin's position she does indeed see the small mob gathering in the streets.

One of them calls out, "Something happening at that compound!?"

It is obvious to Rennah that most of these people are victims, not the hoodlums that the group dispatched of earlier tonight as the ones that do carry weapons are make shift melee weapons.

Turning away from the mob, so that they wouldn't see her grinning from ear to ear, Rennah took up the rallying cry and led the way back towards Kaldo and Garrett.

"Down with the oppressors!"

"Just point that transport this direction and hit the thrusters, Kaldo," Errin says. "Rennah just recruited a mob that should distract any pursuers, and I'll take care of any stowaways."

She slaps the power pack on her rifle to ensure a good connection, then steadies the rifle on the rooftop ledge, lining up a shot.

Actions for GM:

Errin will ready herself to aim and fire at any passenger on the transport she doesn't recognize, just as soon as they come into her view (150 squares is the max range of her carbine, if her Perception roll is good enough). She'll be using two swift actions to aim, which gives her the following benefits: +2 to hit (Careful Shot and double-trigger), +1 die of damage (Deadeye), targets move an extra step on the condition track if hit (Hunter’s Mark), reduce range from medium to short, so -2 penalty (targeting scope), ignore cover (aiming).
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
Aimed shot to hit: 1d20 + 11 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 11 + 2 - 1 = 32
Crit! Woohoo!
Damage: 3d8 + 4 + 1d8 ⇒ (4, 3, 1) + 4 + (8) = 20 Doubled for critical hit = 40
The target will also move one step down the condition track, or two steps if the 40 damage exceeded their damage threshold.

Based on how others handled it, I'm going to keep posting my actions in the Imperial group thread until you move me into the PVP thread with the others. Just let me know.

Rennah and Errin you both now see the transport beginning to break away from the building, there are three speeders in pursuit. You are still too far away to effect what is happening at the complex but you can certainly begin to make preparations as you see fit. They should be near you, assuming the transport is not stopped, within 3 - 4 rounds.

"Look, they're following them on speeder bikes! Get them!"

The mob of several dozen citizens, many beginning ti suffer from the plague begin to charge at the CSA perimeter!

Yeah I'm looking forward to their reaction. Being Jedi, I'm hoping it'll distract them long enough for Garrett and Kaldo to get away, since it's unlikely that they'll apply lethal methods and even Quen's mental powers should only affect 1-2 at a time rather than the whole group. :)

Based upon where the transport is you would say in about 12 seconds it will interact with this mob you have roused, actions in the meantime for the next two rounds?

Round 1: Shout encouragement at the mob and take cover, preferably a bit off the ground so that she can jump onto the landspeeder if needed.

Round 2:Rennah pulls out her lightsaber under cover of her clothes, and readies it for taking on any Jedi that might choose to make an appearance. In front of the mob she pulls out her blaster and aims it towards where she expects Garrett and Kaldo to appear.

My most profound apologies once again for my mistakes here involving distance, I will strive to be more accurate as we move forward! I am sure that RL nonsense interfering with game has not helped... At any rate.

You both see the transport stop as the Jedi climbs onto the roof of the cab.

Kaldo's communicator is switched off. What is not clear is whether he did that intentionally or unintentionally...

The Mob gebins to rush at the perimeter of the CSA compound, it will be some time before they can reach the transport but not long before they reach the guards!

At this point, go ahead an post in the PvP thread and use spoilers for your Comms with Garrett.

Well that escalated quickly while I was sleeping.

Rennah looks back at the guard as she walks past.

"Perhaps if your paymasters hadn't been intent on sacrificing the populace for the sake of a few nobles, we wouldn't have had to take drastic measures. The dead are lining the street, with the peacekeeping forces doing nothing, and you expect people to accept death quietly?"

Ugh. I understand (and share) the desire to salvage a game from the PvP clusterf%#$. But I'm struggling to come up with an in-character justification to suddenly link hands with the jedi and sing Kumbaya.

From Errin's perspective, the CSA is corrupt, these jedi are, at best, complicit in that corruption, along with being direct threats who have attempted (vs. Garrett) or actually used the Force to mind-control her friends (vs. Kaldo). She's going to shoot as many of them as needed to get what the group came for, and certainly not going to give up and adopt the Jedi's agenda when the Imperials appear to be in the position of strength.

Really, it boils down to: I'm happy to have Gunnar join us and continue, but not willing to have our group become Jedi in order to facilitate that. If he's going to join up with us, he needs to find justification for adopting our agenda, not the other way around. Otherwise the only result I see here involves a bunch of attack rolls.

This is simply a continuation of the narrative, so regardless of roll the outcome will be the same

Kaldo is with us, he checked in on Tuesday. Garrett told me via PM he is still in, I think we will see him this week as well.


Endregaard - Evening 2 - The CSA Compound

Quen sighs when Gunnar respond to Garrett. He pulls in a deep breath and lets one back out.

Caleb speaks, "That is our mission not your mission pal. Ultimately, this spice was used to get us here. If you want to distribute it to the people using these guys instead of the CSA that is your prerogative".

He places his lightsaber on his belt then continues, "We'll be heading off then to accomplish what we came here to accomplish. This is not the first time and I am sure will not be the last time someone shoots me. It is the first time I have been shot trying to accomplish the same damn goal as someone else though!" For a Jedi, he seems to have some roiled emotions to be sure.

The Droid starts up his speeder and turns to Caleb, "Come, let us get back to the ship. I can make necessary repairs and we can plot our next move. This interaction is not one that will bear any further use based on our prime directive".

Assuming no one has any objections, the Jedi start to make their way out of the compound together leaving Gunnar behind.

Gunnar:
Your comm crackles, "You take these thugs down yet Major? We have a nice clean cell waiting for those murderers".
