Male Dwarf Alchemist 2

Dworkin opens the door.

Sovereign Court

Male Mortal Man (Human) Monk

The small room is empty, except for a surprisingly large wooden desk and matching chair in the corner. The desk has both a candle and it's holder, as well as about 5 sheets of blank parchment, a small jar of black ink, a quill, and one set of flint and steel.

Male Dwarf Alchemist 2

Search the desk.

Raul walks slowly to another door as he takes out his hooded lantern and buckles it to his belt. Before entering the room he lit the lantern and put his ear to the door, blindly charging in would only see them lead to trouble, and since they were not only strangers in this town but also in a house they were not officially invited to enter, they had to make sure cautiousness and patience were their close allies.

oops I seem to have forgotten about the perception check, sorry

Neither Raul nor Dworkin spot anything besides what has been described. There is, likely, nothing more in this room.

Male Dwarf Alchemist 2

Dworkin gets the feeling there is nothing more here. He puts back everything he disturbed and goes to the next door. He looks it over traps.

"Are they safe for storage?"

"Yes, it should be perfectly safe," I inform him. Interesting though. Generally a sign of a higher income family, or one who has mages of some sort. Neither of which typically describes a dwarven assassin.

I stand there thinking, uncomfortable, as the others search through the room. I fiddle absentmindedly with my gun. I can tell I'm nervous. Breaking into houses is not a typical activity I partake in. The sooner this is over the better. Still. Does not negate my obligation to take part. I look up as we prepare to enter the next room, gun at the ready.

As he kept searching for anything of interest in the room, Raul's eyes fell upon Roland who had been discussing something with Kyras, what caught his eye was that the wizard began fiddling with his firearm He's probably nervous Thought the red haired man as he walked to the wizard, his intent to somehow alleviate the sense of nervousness that has overcame him Last thing we need is to draw attention while we are sneaking into some noble's house Once he was in front of Roland he gave him a quick studious glance before smiling at him.

"You've been awfully quiet" He said to his companion, the tone of his voice was laced with calmness and confidence "I don't blame you this place is not a place I'd choose to be in...But we need all the information we can get at the moment" He continued, his memory taking him back to the time his old partner and himself tried to rob a nobleman's house, it did not end well...but at least they made it out in one piece.

Male Dwarf Alchemist 2

"Bah! Let us not forgot this dwarf is a criminal--a would be assassin and likely worse." Dworkin says as he examines the door.

I rolled perception above.

Hm. Attempt at camaraderie. Good. Help integrate into group. Should reply in kind. Enthusiasm? No, not appropriate time, setting. Still.

"Oh. Um. Yes. Well. Never broken into a house before. Well, not one that's not my own anyway. Moral complications. Practical complications too. Usually work in less urban environment. New experiences. Working on processing, prediction, observation. Busy mind," I tap my forehead, "Distracted. My apologies. You're correct. Many unknowns. Hard to project likely futures with so little information. Must correct. Exciting, working on the fly, but also... agitating. Can't think fast enough to stay ahead of new experiences. Dislike... unknowns. Yeah."

I'm torn between meeting his eyes and scanning the room. Impolite to not focus on conversation at hand. But also stealth, potential combat situation. Normal etiquette overwritten? Unknown. Again. Need more experience with group. I assign a trigger condition to the thought and file it away.

I think this is going quite well.

The red haired man turned slightly to place the the dwarven alchemist in his view "It makes you wonder what could drive such a wealthy person to a life a crime" Replied Raul to Dworkin in a voice that indicated that he was contemplating that very comment he just made.

"Life is filled with new experiences, normally you'd be doubly afraid of being found sneaking into a former noble's house, but as Dworkin put it, people won't really care if we looked around a person's house after he tried to off a member of the city guard" Said Raul as he turned to face Roland slowly, his voice not losing the armor of composure it had adorned since their conversation started.

He seems less agitated, that's good Commented the green eyed rogue mentally, his eyes catching the light emitted the arcane powered torches in the room "He didn't strike me like much of a wizard...is there a way to find out if the individual who made these torches is still here?" He inquired of Roland, Raul did not wish to encounter any surprises in unfamiliar territory so if there was a way to know ahead of time that they were facing an arcane user he was all for it.

Male Dwarf Alchemist 2

"He was formerly a pampered noble who fell on hard times and now does whatever it takes to reclaim that former life. There are plenty of princes begging for coin on the streets and plenty of scoundrels dancing in fancy dress balls. It takes changing the amount of wealth to bring out the true character of a man." Dworkin said.

Dworkin studies the torches and tries to remember what he knows about magic in order to answer Raul's question.

Dworkin spotted no traps on the closed door.
A wizard who specializes in light spells, and those following the same school, would be a safe bet as to who made them.

Male Dwarf Alchemist 2

"Raul, it was probably some wizard who specializes in light spells. I do not know of a way to detect if he--or she--or it--is still here."

Dworkin opens the door he just checked.

"Wise words" Commented Raul, as he nodded in acknowledgement, while he rarely witnessed it in his hometown, there has always been news and rumors of nobles and sometimes even royalty falling on hard times.

"I see" Said Raul as he watched the magical torch that was near him "Thank you Dworkin" He continued before he began walking to the dwarf's location, the arcane light casting a shadow of his moving frame across the floor.

"Let us help Dworkin with the search, simply standing here won't get us anywhere" He said to his fellow companions as he was halfway towards the door Dworkin was just studying.

This room hosts a rather large bed, even for the frame of a Dwarf. A three foot tall mirror looks back towards the bed from the opposite wall. A dresser stands next to the bed, and a nightstand on the other side.

Search the room.

You find nothing other that what was previously described.

Raul begins scanning the room for any kind of clues or anything worth while, He notes the craftsmanship of the various pieces of furniture that inhabited the room, and stopped a bit to view his clone within the mirror before continuing his search.

Dworkin leaves that room and goes to the next.

Listen at the door and search it for traps. Is that two rolls or one?

"I have another theory to put forward friends... Or at least to back up... Solsun is a city all but divided into two factions. The north and the south, each with their own kings. The Guard Captain suggested that this is an attempt to destabilise things... I see no reason to believe this is incorrect

Didn't we enter via the South gate? Can we tell how far north we are?

Male Dwarf Alchemist 2

". . And the best plan they have is to attack random groups of people in the streets? What would be the next phase? Empty all the chamber pots into everybody's shoes?" Dworkin says.

Male Half-Elf Fighter - 1, Ranger - 1 / 2

"Attacking city guards under the employment of the king, to show that they can't defend themselves. Stir up unrest on one side to emphasis the strength of the other..." Kyras responded plane faced
"I'm unsure how the faeces filled shoes would further any end, friend Dworkin, but I will think on it. Indeed if it does happen we will know the Guard was right..."
His forehead furrows in thought
"Although I doubt we can draw the opposite conclusion if there is no dropping in shoes"
Kyras shook his head. The line of thought made no sense to Kyras but he was much more used to living in the wild. The dwarf clearly knew more about urban culture... Either that or he was insane.

Male Dwarf Alchemist 2

Dworkin was going to correct him, but decided against it.

I just don't have that kind of time. He thought.

If there are no traps, Dworkin opens the door to this room too.

Male Dwarf Alchemist 2

"I'm liking our new house so far, how about the rest of you?" Dworkin asked casually while poking around the contents of the room for anything interesting.
