GM question: can you use perform (sing) for performance combat?

I think they said they'll be allowing it?

I'll use a simplified version of the performance combat rules, and will let you use any type of perform check for a performance combat check, as long as you roleplay it appropriately.

Oh good. Thanks for correcting my error.

Personally, I would say just go forward as though it is a real combat (where singing is just support), because I think that is what he meant.

But of course, if it is a sing-off, I'm totally down as well. ;)

Clyde sings an ode to a lump of putty he found in his armpit.

Well all my work from the last 4 or 5 hours got deleted, so... I'm not gonna be able to finish in time anyway. Good luck, all.

I might be making a last minute edit to my character- switching my eidolon to a polearm for better battlefield control. If I did this, I'd be taking the 'push' evolution so that I could use my claws to knock people back into range of the polearm. But I don't know if this would work- am I allowed to use my secondary attacks (claws) before my primary attack (weapon)?

You can take the natural attack first, but if you use a weapon attack in the same round, the natural attack is considered a secondary attack, which means a -5 to hit (unless you have multiattack) and only get half your strength bonus to damage. You also can't use a claw attack with a hand that it holding a weapon. Polearms are two-handed (unless you are using one that is a size category smaller than you), but you can take a free action to grab/release with one hand. This means that you only get one claw attack plus the polearm unless you have more than two hands (which IS doable for an eidolon).

If you want to get around the claws not being able to be used, you could always use a slam attack instead. It's still a secondary with a weapon - no way around that, but it does hit a bit harder. But, as Illiam said, more limbs is a good way around it.

With Pavlova pulling out, that leaves us with 9. I was hoping to get it down to two teams of 4 at this point, but I'd hate to exclude just one person, and the choice would be really difficult, so I'm going to say that you all move on to the next round. I'll have a post in gameplay up shortly.

Ashak the Acrobat (Hobgoblin Knife Master Rogue)
Erin Reynor (Halfling Primalist Bloodrager)
ClydeMcClod (Human Brawler)
Aphrashai the Mystic (Human Mesmerist)
Nathaniel Whitecloak (Human Flying Blade Swashbuckler)
Calaveras the Flying Frog (Grippli Aerokineticist/rogue)
Pogug (Goblin Skald)
Evalee Ribbinz/Semsephiel Godscourge (Half-elf Unchained Summoner)
Zarine Greenblood (Human Daredevil / Flame Dancer Bard)

Gameplay thread is up.

I think that I'm going to have to withdraw my application. I've realized that I'm already in too many games right now, adding another one (even one that sounds as fun as this is likely to be) is just too much.

Sadness. I rather liked your character . . . and I hadn't yet gotten the chance to make any Jurasic Park jokes. Best of luck with your other campaigns. :)

That's how I read the rules too, but I figured I'd best ask the GM. Thanks tho.

Btw, Illiam Taal is me, so that was an answer from the GM. I was replying from my phone and I guess I accidentally switched my default alias to my character from another PBP.

Oops. My bad. x)

No, my fault for not paying enough attention to which alias I was using.

Wow. I just realized that the GM advised me to use a small sized polearm one handed. 0_o I kind of want to do that now . . . but I think I'll stick with my quadromanus build for one and a half times STR.

The mythweaver's sheet is updated now- I'm using a flying blade, since I had to spend a feat on weapon proficiency anyway.

"Advised" is a strong word. I just mentioned that it was an option. It's a trick I like to use with some of my martial characters. Of course, eidolons have other options to get a reach attack and still have a free hand.
