You had me at "Random Stat Generation"
Stat: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 5) + 4 = 11
Stat: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2) + 4 = 7
Stat: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 2) + 4 = 8
Stat: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 1) + 4 = 8

Hm. Thats how the dice fall, I guess. Which would then give me 18, 11, 7, 8, 8, 6.

Shuffled into place: 6, 8, 11, 8, 9, 18
Apply Old Age adjustments: 6, 6, 9, 9, 10, 18

Ione:
Oracle. Wasting Curse. Elder.
The way the line looked, one would be forgiven for thinking that the number of applicants had ended. However, after the loud call for "Next" had faded, the place where the applicants would stand was still empty. In the fading evening, the sounds of the evening crickets could be heard through the heavy cloth of the tent, and the smell of cooling earth crept in with the changing temperature. A confused silence grew as the seconds stretched, growing uncomfortable.

The head recruiter had just turned his head to look to the others in the stands, the wood softly creaking from the shift in weight, when a gentle glow of light drew everyone's attention, slowly moving towards the ring where the applicants stood. The glow increased until all present could make out the stooped female form, slowly proceeding, almost at the place where the applicants would stand. The glow was originating from the gem in the head of the gnarled walking stick that was dark with age, and the light was reminiscent of that of a hearth in winter, warm and welcoming. She was frail, a dark hand wrapped around the walking aid, gray hair once-thick but now thinning under a colorful kapenia that marked her as a Varisian, the colors of the family scarf faded but still true as it hung from her head nearly to her waist. The blouse and skirt were homemade, but the influences of that heritage could be seen in those garments as well, for those that knew what to look for.

The arm grasping the staff wavered slightly as she drew herself up, almost leaving the stooped posture entirely as the light threatened to reveal the shadowed figures. "Heh—" The short laugh turned into a wet cough, more of her weight leaning on the staff at the exertion. "Probably best to leave the light how it is, I know how you lot would prefer your secrecy." Her voice wavered slightly, dispelling any doubt as to the age of the Elder that stood before them. Still, the tone of her voice was soft, fond, like that of a family member that favored you, her brown eyes still bright despite her age. Even the chuckle that followed was almost at a whisper, the laugh more noticeable by the shaking of her shoulders, than its volume. Still, the light dimmed a bit, until only the ring was illuminated, leaving the thickening shadows beyond its edges, no longer threatening to reveal those who remained seated.

"My name—", she began, the hand on her staff slowly raising a few fingers from her grip before returning them, her free hand reaching up to touch the staff just under the grip once as she murmured something not-quite comprehensible. "–is Ione, and I am a fortune teller."

As she completed her sentence, a pair of tiny golden monkeys clambered out from under her shawl to stand on her shoulder, carrying with them a deck of cards that they then began to haphazardly trade back and forth, pulling some cards from the top, and others from the middle, shuffling the deck while looking for all the world like a pair of animals just examining the item. No cards fell, and nothing was said by the old woman, until the cards were well and shuffled. All she did was look out at the shadowed forms with a calm smile.

Two taps of her staff on the ground got the attention of the pair that had been trading cards on her shoulder, and they both looked to her, then disappeared back under her shawl with the deck seemingly disappearing. "Now", she began, clearing her throat to forestall a cough. "You need only two cards for this, but let us see which they are..."

Her free hand drifted under her scarf as the light faded from the gem in her staff, the growing darkness serving to remind them of the time, as a new glow began from the card that was revealed to be held in her hand when it came out from under the scarf. She looked at it and then gave it a look of consideration before turning it to display what was on its face to those assembled. "The Idiot." Her smile almost became a grin as she returned the card, the darkness coming with its return, so only her voice reached those seated, with no sight of her form but a silhouette, dark against the deeper darkness for but a brief moment, but rich with amusement and care. "...I need say nothing, as I am certain most of you know to whom it refers."

The second card began to glow, pushing the darkness away as she gave it a look, both eyebrows rising. "The Tyrant", she pronounced, showing the card around as she had with the one prior. "This could be the same person, but it would seem that it may be for this Carnival itself." As the card was returned, its light dimmed, transferring itself to the gem in the staff again. "All of us are idiots to our passions", she said with a smile that spoke of fond remembrance. "It is those same passions that would make a tyrant of an idiot, as what it demands would make slaves of its bearer..." She trailed off, coughing softly for a second, something about the cough sounding inevitable.

"...However, is that not what has placed us where we are currently?" The smile returned with those words, and she gave a tiny bow, inclining her head more than her waist. "Thank you for your time, good folk."

At that, the light dimmed, just enough to be a beacon in the dark, as she turned with the aid of the staff, and began making her way out of the ring, and then the tent, with the same calm pace that she had taken entering, each step away turning that weathered, frail form into the shape that they had seen enter.

Just another applicant for the Carnival.

The stat rolls alone would make this an unlikely prospect, but that story was something that I couldn't walk away from, I couldn't help it.

"IT'S SHOW TIME"

I have this mad idea for an crippled halfling Summoner Synthesist
who is a high dive artist. She gets around in a wheel chair most of the time, but then uses a high ladder into a 3' tub of water. Transforming to come out as a snake woman.

=================================

The High diver

The stage was still as the hand hefted up a high ladder. Fixing it in place with cables. Then a small tub of water was brought out and placed under it. being placed just below the landing spot of the ladder. There was a drum roll and from stage left came the pitfall sight of a young female half-ling in simple wicker wheel-chair. It made a squeaking sound as she pushed down on the wheels. There was a few chuckles form the audience as she stopped and turned to face the throng looking on.

"I am Lilly Wilderflower, and tonight lady's and gents I shall for your entertainment DIVE from the top of this 100' ladder into the 4" tub of water. WITH OUT THE ADD OF MAGIC, and with my frail and broken body. Wish me luck for I may die in the attempt."

The then wheeled her self over to the ladder where rope and counter wight was. Fixing the rob round her the counter weight dropped pulling her frail and broken from up the ladder. Once at the top she undid the rope and waited a moment taking deep breaths. Then a drum roll and a light picked her out, she let go and feel, falling like a stone. Amrs out belly ready she it with a massive splash of water. The water thrashed around then out of it came another form. That of a Snake with arms and the face of the halfing-maid. It reared up and shot once more up the ladder as speed. Coiling around it.

The crowed seeing the unexpected change and the juxtaposition of forms for a moment where thrown, but as the snake like form bowed its head and hissed.

"I thank you ladys and gents"

The clapping started as relief and amazement gripped the lookers on.

Comming back down and bowing once more she slivers off the stage,

Would you object if I had a Small Half-Orc with the Racial Heritage - Goblin feat? Basically, my idea is for a small, odd, ugly little creature that is both unreasonably strong and of uncertain origin (I would be taking the Goblin race trait Ugly Swine to further confuse his heritage. Honestly, the idea is probably something akin to a Half-Goblin, but those don't exist...and well, no one said a Half-Orc needed a human half. Except mechanically, otherwise I loose access to Racial Heritage.

He'd probably have levels in Sorcerer and Eldritch Scion Staff Magus so he can wield the new item, the Lantern Staff, and make use of some of the more pyromanical Goblin feats (little man looooves fire). His show would be a mix of his unreal strength for such a small guy and fire-based illusion magics.

His weak stat would be Wisdom. Especially if I go crossblooded sorcerer, which I'm considering.

I'm playing around with a grippli aerialist. Calaveras the Flying Frog.

-----

The music comes up with a sprightly tune. It's the tune of an early spring day, but there's also the sounds of gusting winds. Through one of the side openings of the tent, a kite comes through, as if blowing on a strong wind. Observant audience members will see two small threads holding up the kite and making it dance. But the ribbon tail is genuinely fluttering despite being inside.

The kite swoops as if in a strong wind, pulling and jerking the string. Eventually, it pulls in a child, stumbling along under the force of the kite. The child seems to be well dressed, a noble child. Except for the fact that it's not a child, but a grippli with bright green skin.

As the winds soar, the kite pulls and the child soars through the air as if pulled by the kite. He travels six feet and three feet up. A slide whistle accents the ascent and drops as he does. Landing there's a thump of the bass drum and a puff of brown dust. His fancy clothes seem to be ripped. The child picks himself off, still in control of the kite and begins running and laughing. Another gust comes, even stronger. This time he goes six feet in the air and comes down hard. Even worse, the kite keeps going up. It rises up to the top of the tent, near the bright light above.

The kid picks himself up, looking for the kite in the air. The music plays a sad tune, but then he sees something up in the air. He goes to one of the poles of the tent. (While everybody was distracted, a stagehand has put fake branches to make it look like a tree) He climbs up looking up at the kite. He climbs out on a branch and reachs, but it's forty feet away. For a second time, he reaches, stretching a few inches further. He hangs his head in defeat. Then he looks, not up, but across. Excited, he licks his finger and holds it up to judge the wind. As the wind sounds rise up, he jumps. This jump soars sixty feet across from one pole to the other.

From the other "tree", he looks up at the kite. Scrambling up the tree, he reaches out again. It's closer, but still thirty feet away. He climbs up higher and finds the tightrope. Stepping out on this, he balances his way, wobbling as the wind comes up and down. From the center of the line, he's a good fifteen feet under the kite and the bright "sun" next to it. Bouncing up and down, he gets the line moving and he jumps straight up fifteen feet. But he's off just a bit and misses the kite. From there, he falls. While he falls unnaturally slowly, the tatters of his clothing whip around like he's falling fast. There's a drum roll and the wind machine howls.

He hits with a booming rumble and a cloud of dust comes up. He lays there for a moment, the music silent. Then he slowly picks himself up. He's hurting, but alive. He looks up at the kite and shakes his fist. He looks curiously at his fist. He opens it with a flourish and a bright light shoots out and begins to circle him. He shakes his other fist and another mote of light comes out, spinning the other way. He looks up in wonder at these two handfuls of sunlight and goes skipping off.

I'm working on an ifrit fire dancer for consideration. Going to roll for the other 4 stats because why not.

score 1: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 2) + 4 = 11
score 2: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 4) + 4 = 14
score 3: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 6) + 4 = 16
score 4: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 5) + 4 = 10

Wow! Glad I did that. I'll take it. Been working on the build since last night and the current version is linked in the alias already. Some changes are still to come.

A tall man with skin the colour of nutmeg walks onstage. He wears the flowing, bright clothing of the distant eastern lands, richly bedecked with jewelry. He begins to speak in a lightly accented voice, rich with bombast,"Do you wish to commune with the spirits beyond? Those you have lost to the cruel clutches of death? I am Aphrashai the Mystic! To me death is no obstacle. The doors of the spirit realm are opened to my eyes. Let the voices of the dead speak! He produces a glowing crystal ball from a fold in his robe and lifts it high, contemplating it briefly before taking it into both hands. He closes his eyes for a moment as four motes of light rise out of the sphere, each uttering a brief ethereal wail. He speaks again, "Behold, The escorts of the dead! Ushers of the spirits from beyond, guide a soul to me, bring them here to see one final glimpse of the mortal realm." He takes his hands off of the crystal ball which begins to float in mid-air. The lights begin to whip around the crystal ball before merging into it. A ghostly moaning begins, softly at first but becoming louder as a spectral humanoid form appears in front of Aphrashai.

He points to one of the shadowy figures. Taking a risk he says loudly, "You! What questions do you have for the dead?"

Mechanically, Aphrashai is doing perform (acting) for the speaking parts. The glowing crystal ball is a reskinned prismatic crystal from occult adventures. The glowing lights are dancing lights, and all of the sounds are produced by ghost sound. The levitating crystal ball is done by mage hand and finally the spectral human form is made by a combination of ghost sound and silent image. Stats are in the profile.

Remember that your audition post should be made using an alias for your character (which should include a character sheet) and should include at least one perform check using that character's stats. So far, only Ashak the Acrobat has met these requirements. The others will be taken as adding flavor to the audition setting, but can't be considered for inclusion in the game.

You should also avoid describing any off-set help. Remember, you just showed up here and got in line. You may eventually have an act in the carnival that includes stage hands doing rope work or playing drums, but unless your class grants a companion who can do these things for you, there hasn't been an opportunity to arrange them ahead of time.

Since I'm seeing a lot of monster race proposals, I'll also add that any non-core race is fairly uncommon in this world (at least the civilized parts of it). People won't be shocked (at least, not in a way they're not expecting) to see them in a carnival freak show, but you will also need to be able to move around town without drawing unwanted attention, so those of you choosing monster races should expect to make frequent disguise and/or stealth checks when you are outside the carnival. This will be easy for a kitsune, but in the majority of the cities you'll visit, the sight of an orc/goblin hybrid will probably be enough to cause the city guard to be called. You could attempt to sneak around all the time, but that will preclude participating in a lot of the roleplaying.

switched out bruising intellect for hidden hand. I figured that Ashak stays pretty covered up when in public, so in general his race shouldn't be an issue. He is quite well spoken for a hobgoblin so it shouldn't be super obvious.

Anything else I need to check out?

I'll take a closer look at the sheet later, but that was the only thing that jumped out at me.

I wasn't planning for the auditions to include audience interaction, but I can see why your concept would be difficult without it. I'll need to think about the response, and I have to go to work right now, but I just wanted to let you know I wasn't ignoring you.

Okay, here we go: Erin Reynor, halfling bloodrager and bat-rider extraordinaire! Let me know if you have any questions or comments about the character sheet or backstory, and I'll post her audition soon.

Get something up soon. Clyde McClod, Strongman and freakshow participant where he eats disgusting things and lets people punch his swollen form.

Got it GM making now

Just writing up a backstory for a character I was using in strange aeons, he's a man who's got quite a few problems with his body. Mainly the fact that he's missing one arm and leg, his other arm is possessed by a malevolent spirit one of his eyes is wholly independent. Essentially, he's a charismatic guy that can take himself apart.

Major Stat=Strength
Minor Stat= Charisma

Roll one: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 4) + 4 = 13
Roll Two: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 3) + 4 = 9
Roll three: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 3) + 4 = 11
Roll four: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 6) + 4 = 12

Guess my +2 will be going to the 13

"Next!"

A young halfling woman steps carefully into the center ring. She is small even for a halfling, with plain grey clothes and wavy brown hair that reaches just past her shoulders. In her hands she holds a long metal rod that comes to a sharp point, almost like a miniature lance. Her eyes scan the dark figures in the makeshift stands, and she smiles. "Hello," she calls up to them, giving a little wave. "My name is Erin Reynor, and, well..." She takes a breath. "Let's go for a ride."

Erin darts forward, taking a few quick steps before jabbing the blunt end of her lance into the ground and vaulting into the air. In the same instant, a small bat swoops down from the shadows near the roof of the tent. Even as it hurtles downward, it begins to grow rapidly, doubling in size and then doubling again. It glides under the halfling's airborn body, and she lands neatly on its back.

And from that moment, they're off. Erin and the bat soar through the air above the stands, twisting and rolling. Erin's lance is a blur of motion, twirling above her head as the bat spins and flips. They gradually make their way higher and higher, circling around the tent. At the apex of the climb, Erin leaps off of the bat's back, plummeting toward the ground below. The bat dives after her, and at the last second it grabs hold of her lance, leveling off into a low glide. Erin dangles beneath it, continuing to spin as she lets go of the lance with each hand in turn. As they approach her original spot in front of the stands, the bat slows its flight, then releases Erin a few feet above the ground. She lands on her feet and spins one final time, bringing the lance in a full circle around her as the bat reverts to its normal size and flutters off into the darkness.

Perform (dance): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35

"Thank you." Erin gives a nod toward the stands and walks quickly out of the light.

I'll allow Asbestos Cloth armor, but I'll say that it only provides half the fire resistance (round down to 2) if it isn't masterwork quality.

Surely the likelihood of contracting Mesothelioma is sufficient drawback to asbestos cloth.

If I were to make a knife-thrower, I would need an assistant to pose for me (throw sharp things at), could I just pay for a hireling or something? Or are there extra people available? How could that work?

Although then you'd be entitled to financial compensation.

I think I could arrange for a volunteer from the "audience" if you really need one (I know which NPC I would use for that, whereas I'm still deciding which one should speak up in response to Aphrashai), but I'd prefer if you could find a way to work without one...

A Large obese man strides up with a large box. His bald head gleams under the light and even though he seems just a mound of flab, he is fairly light on his feet and muscles bulge on his arm.

Uhh..hehh..hhe.. Clyde McClod is the name, and strength and shock is my game. He does a tumble and pratfall on the floor.
Perform-Comedy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 Clyde seems unperturbed at his abyssal performance.

Oh but I am not really here to tell funny jokes and pull faces and scarves out of people's ears. Clyde reaches down and hefts two rather large weights and easily holds them over his head. I am here for the late night crowd, when the children are tucked in and the adults sneak around to the back areas, I also lift weights and can bear acrobats on my back so they can leap into the air, a little dab of paint and I am Clyde the world's strongest clown. Clyde lifts a classic double ended weight over his head with only a few puffs and then drops it to the floor.

Late at night, I have other tricks, with the bearded woman and skinniest man there is also The Blockhead. Clyde removes his shirt and shows a scarred chest with little rings in the skin. A trick of mine is to lift weights with my chest and other parts Clyde attaches some wires to his rings and then to some disturbingly heavy looking weights. With a few puffs he lifts them up with his chest before releasing them. He then taps a nail into his nose that sends a small trickle of blood out.Plus I'll take requests to swallow all sorts of things.

Clyde takes out a raw egg, cracks it into his mouth and then munches some crickets, a wriggling mouse and even bites the head off a bat. Thank you for your time good sirs, I await your decision. Clyde heads off stage.

Profile up, will work on Myth Weaver

Who farted? a nasal voice growls energetically from the shadows. Then the voice chuckles, sounding very pleased with itself. Some of the other shadowed figures shift in their seats, but if they think the joke is funny, they do a good job of stifling their laughter. Some of the other performers in line are less polite.

This is not going as well as you might have hoped, but the now familiar voice that seems to be in charge does not call out. You still have a chance to turn this around.

Sorry. I do like your character concept, but the idea of believing in such things is so foreign to me that I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out what someone who did would say. In the absence of any better ideas, and to allow things to move along, I've decided to have one of the NPCs heckle you. I figured that would give you more to work with than complete silence, at least.

OK, so I'm guessing that, by this, RolePlaying potential will be heavily limited if you're not playing a race that is Gnome, Halfling, Dwarf or Human, or can pass for one of those races with consistency, such as Kitsune, the Elemental races with the Humanlike trait and such? Bummer. I'll see if I can re-work any of my ideas for those races and stat layouts.

You have a +8 misc bonus listed for perform, but I only see a masterwork tool and a trait bonus. Where does the other +4 come from? I also don't see a drawback, and you have the wrong hit dice listed on your sheet.

Characters that have completed their auditions:
Ashak the Acrobat (Knife Master Rogue)
Erin Reynor (Primalist Bloodrager)

Still needs a character sheet:
ClydeMcClod (Brawler)

Audition still in progress:
Aphrashai the Mystic (Mesmerist)

Me'mori, GM_Panic, and Philo Pharynx, if you want to be considered, please check the submission requirements and post again. Philo Pharynx needs an alias and a perform check. GM_Panic, Synthesist Summoner is not allowed, so you'll have to come up with a different concept and follow the submission requirements.

If you think you've applied, but I didn't mention your name, let me know. There's still time, I'm just keeping notes so I don't forget anyone.

Sorry about the drawback, I wasn't quite sure where to put it. I was planning on going with Bitter - the whole 'being sent away by her parents' thing kind of gave her some trust issues. And nice catch on the hit dice, fixed. As for the other +4 bonus to Perform, that comes from the Driven Worker alternate racial trait, which she took in place of sure-footed. Let me know if there are any other issues!

Have the Myth-Weavers sheet up and ready, if you care to look it over. Still gonna buy a few pieces of equipment. Am working on backstory and an audition.

Yep GM spotted the
>Summoners must use the Unchained version, and can't use the Synthesist or Master Summoner archetypes.

so having a rethink,

I really like the idea of an dhampir* Mesmerist/act using
Mesmerist class. It call kind of fits race + Calls but *I know that are 11RP so was going to take away her

Magical Racial Traits
Spell-Like Abilities (Su): A dhampir can use detect undead three times per day as a spell-like ability. The caster level for this ability equals the dhampir’s class level.

To get her to 10RP or less

Would that be OK GM?

dot. Gonna start seeing if I can come up with something for this.

And I'll go ahead with the roll for this:
2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 3) + 4 = 9
2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1) + 4 = 7
2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 5) + 4 = 14
2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 5) + 4 = 12

Rats just seen
Aphrashai the Mystic has (Mesmerist)

So I am going to go with an Elf Investigator
who astounds with acts of deduction and feats of memory.

I think I'll throw my hat in this. I'm thinking about playing a goblin skald, specializing in playing the fiddle. Admittedly kind of strange, so I'll need to think on backstory to make it work.

Rolls: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 2) + 4 = 12
2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 1) + 4 = 11
2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 2) + 4 = 11
2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4) + 4 = 9

Ok, I definitely have a character concept in mind now but its weird enough that I thought that I'd pass it by you first to see if you object. I'm virtually certain its all rules legal.

The character will be a Human Courtly Hunter. But the animal companion will be quite intelligent (9 or 10 to start) and will basically be the primary character of the pair. Or, at the very least, an equal partner.

The companion will be either a cat (tiger or leopard) or an Ape.

Although it will have something of an animalistic personality I'm going to want the Companion to be pretty much an independent being, including using tools to the extent its body will allow and including using skills that are very non animalistic (eg, disable device). It will sneak off and scout on its own, etc. It will activate magic items via UMD, will probably have a ring of Eloquence as soon as I can afford it, etc.

Is this ok with you?

By my reading, a level 3 courtly hunter's animal companion should have an INT score of 7. How are you planning to increase that?

Eye for Talent as a human (or caretaker as a halfling) gives it a +2 to a stat of my choice.

At level 4 it gets a +1 to a stat. Contemplating taking hutnmaster with a leopard to give it a starting level of 4th.

Nathaniel shifted from foot to foot nervously as the line moved slowly in front of him. His bright green eyes took in the sight before him, of acts he thought were very good being sent away without even being able to finish. Well, he had never been the best judge of such things, which was probably why he was an aspiring act and not a Ringmaster. His eyes drifted to a scantily clad woman not far in front of him, admiring her voluptuous curves before shaking his head, clearing his thoughts. This was his chance, and he was worried about a pretty face and feminine curves. No wonder he was in the shape he was in.

The young man breathed in deeply as the line progressed to where there were just a few performers in front of him, his heart pounding but his outward demeanor calm enough. As the three in front became two, then one, he went over his routine, then modified it, then modified it yet again. He had never been a meticulous planner, prone to flights of fancy and improvisation when he was acting for a crowd. Anything to hear them roar with applause and approval.

As the loud voice shouted "NEXT" Nathaniel collected himself, then strode forward with more confidence than he felt, his movements fluid and dexterous as he made his way to the middle of the area where the performance would take place. He pulled all five of his daggers out, holding them by the points in his left hand while he bowed briefly to the small group, the blood rushing to his head nearly making him swoon before he became erect once more, flashing a smile at those he was auditioning for before he started flipping the knives into the air, quickly getting all five weapons into a loose, circular circuit.

Perform Juggling: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

This was kept up for just a few moments before he tightened up his loops, tossing every third dagger much higher into the air and working it back into the rotation on its way down.

Perform Juggling: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

Knowing that patience was hard to come by for this group, he only did this part of the routine slightly longer than the first, the young man then tossing the first four daggers that came down into a nearby dummy.

Dagger Throw, PBS: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 1 = 22
Dagger Throw, PBS: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 8 + 1 = 23
Dagger Throw, PBS: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 1 = 22
Dagger Throw, PBS: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 8 + 1 = 26

Then, when the final knife came down Nathaniel did a full frontal flip before releasing the final dagger.

Acrobatics+Derring-Do: 1d20 + 11 + 1d6 ⇒ (12) + 11 + (2) = 25
Dagger Throw, PBS: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 1 = 16

The young performer winced as the last dagger went slightly astray on the final throw, but still had the presence of mind to bow once again to those judging him before collecting his knives and moving along, hoping for a callback.

Sorry, I don't create aliases to apply to games. I have too many stray aliases already.

Acrobatics (jump): 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (15) + 25 = 40 that's a 20 foot vertical leap
Perform (dance): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Just Can't seem to get a character concept I like,
and with so many others with good ideas, I think I'm going to withdraw.
I will be lurking to see what the picked get up too.

Best of luck one and all.

:)

Aphrashai smiles slightly, "Well, we have a jokester. The spirits shall answer nonetheless!" The spectral form turns to the figure that spoke and raises its arms towards it. The exaggerated sound of flatulence sounds in that direction as Aphrashai briefly concentrates. He smiles even wider and says, "Well, it looks like the spirits have revealed the answer. It was...you!" He grabs the crystal ball from midair and proclaims, "Now! Spirit, return to whence you came beyond the veil of mortality!" The four glowing motes of light rise from the crystal ball. They float over to the figure and spin around it, fading out as the image sinks into the ground. He bows and says, "I thank you for your consideration."

Perform check...

You do have a lot of them, and I've seen you around the forums before, so I'll let it slide, but you're not making the GM's life easier...

I'm going to withdraw. I'm having trouble making the character do what I want. I love the idea of the game, but what I want my concept to do and what the mechanics allow are at odds with each other. I'll probably still lurk the game because I like the concept.

Happy gaming, folks.

That's too bad. I was looking forward to seeing how your character came out.

I believe I forgot the perform check. Here it is.

Perform (Acting): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Hmm, well since there is already a knife-thrower and a fortune-teller, here are two other ideas I had:
- undine watersinger & escape artist specialist
- (human?) horseback acrobat & trick archer

Updating the list...

Characters that have completed their auditions:
Ashak the Acrobat (Knife Master Rogue)
Erin Reynor (Primalist Bloodrager)
ClydeMcClod (Brawler)
Aphrashai the Mystic (Mesmerist)
Nathaniel Whitecloak (Flying Blade Swashbuckler)
Calaveras the Flying Frog (Aerokineticist or Aerokineticist/rogue)

That's 6. Since all of the PBPs I've been in have had players drop out sooner or later, I'm considering starting with a large-ish party, so probably 5 or 6, but I'll have to see what combinations I end up with, both in terms of classes and in terms of performances and other skills. This will require changing some things that I have prepared for my in-person group, which is only a party of 3, so I may decide to go smaller and perhaps invite others of you to join later, or re-open auditions.

For those who are still planning to apply, I'm going to tentatively set a deadline of saturday morning, but since I have an all-day event saturday, I probably won't get around to actually closing it until some time on sunday.

If you're still trying to come up with an idea, you should note that we don't have any arcane casters yet (though the bloodrager will start getting arcane spells at level 4) or any in-combat healing options (it would probably be tough to build a cleric that would be a good fit, but someone who can at least use a wand of CLW without needing UMD might be useful to have around).

whosawhatsis wrote:

Erin does have a wand of infernal healing for emergencies, but you're right that some actual casters would be nice...

I noticed that, which is why I specified in-combat. Infernal healing is better out-of-combat healing than CLW, but it's not much use in-combat.

True... and whether she'd have to devote all of it to keeping her familiar above the brink of death remains to be seen.

Then the answer is not to take damage. Then healing is irrelevant.

Alias created. I did make a little change, putting a rank in disguise.
