Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

I'll take the slimy little varmint, Maya. I dropped the hammer on this one. Won't happen again on my watch.

Trapper, shuddering as he looks at the goblin, takes Git by the leash and makes him walk alongside the horse while he travels back to the cornfield where everyone else is.

He stares down at the creature and just shakes his head. What makes your race so damn vicious? He says to Git, not really expecting an answer.

XP question:

This is my XP list. What am I missing?

120 = ogre

225 = battle at the bridge

445 = current battle with the goblins

Male Human Wizard / 1st

Talberon quickly surveyed the cornfield battlefield quickly.

Perception at cornfield battle:
1d20 ⇒ 5

Seeing what he saw, he moved back to the farmstead.

"Your parents child? Hmmm. I suppose they are around here somewhere," he said not necessarily lying, but hesitant to tell the child that they were probably dead.

"I will see if I can find them..."

Talberon began moving around the burning building looking for signs.

Perception around building:
1d20 ⇒ 19

If it burns down enough, he will also check out the interior of the burnt out building.

Perception in building:
1d20 ⇒ 3

Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius helps Talberon search 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5 "Gozer, I'm going to help Talberon search for her parents. Could you watch her while we're gone?" There should be saying 'Blind as a wizard'

Human Human Fighter 1

Maya untethers her horse and then rides back to join the others along with trapper and Git. As she rides, she speaks to Git.

In goblin:

You're a smart goblin afterall Git. I thought you might try to get away. It's a good thing you didn't because then we would have had to track you down and kill you.

Human Human Fighter 1

When she gets back to the others, she sees the little girl.

Hi sweetie; don't worry, you're safe now. You'll be okay, we'll protect you. My name is Maya. What is your name?

She glares at Git.

In goblin

Don't think of doing anything that will scare this poor child. If you do, I'll cut off your ears

Sczarni

Male Human GM / 1

Gozer scoops up the child in his arm and glares at the goblin. Axe held tightly in his other hand.

We will find your parents small one.

When Trapper hears this he points a stubby finger at Git, and also says in the Goblin tongue:

I understood every word she just said to you, and if you do do anything to that child you better pray to that demon yours that I don't get to you first!

Human Human Fighter 1

Gozer picking up the kid is probably scarier than the goblins. Maybe when he retires he can open up a daycare.

Male Human

Talberon, Tamilius:
The house is a smoking ruin now that the fire has quenched its hunger. Picking through the wreck you see the unmistakable charred remains of two bodies.

"Maya. My name is Rebecca." Then she cuddles into Gozer's neck arms wrapped around "Thankyou giant man."

Git squeals in Goblin "Me, ME!!! Me not hurt a fly Me good Goblin, waited patiently with no moving!!!"

Trapper squints, looking at the Goblin and shaking his.

I don't trust the lot of these critters. He's either scared or has plan. Or worse yet, more of his kind along the trail.

Sense Motive Check
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

GM Ruling:
I guess if Git is bluffing, Trapper might be able to detect it with a sense motive = 14

Trapper gets off his horse and begins to walk around the cornfield area with Git on a leash. He deliberately scans all part of the area -- the soil, the stalks of corn, any other plants, the trail itself.

He points to all the key areas of recent battle.
"Anything here that I need to be aware of?" he says to Git, and then repeats it in Goblin to make sure the creature understands.

Perception Check
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

"I've seen more inside a deep, dark mineshaft than I'm seeing here in this absurd waste of land. Give me a cave any day to this foliage!"

Male Human Wizard / 1st

Talberon look over at Tamilius and whispered, "What ya suppose we do now?"

He looked back at the others, Gozer holding the child and thought, 'These times are hard. Too hard on the youth.'

With the thought, his mind traveled back scant years, to when he gained his bleached scars, and as he did, his hand went to unconsciously touch his face.

Male Human

It doesn't seem as if Git is bluffing to you. He seems genuinely distressed that you don't believe him.

Git then drags you over to the one of the Goblins and pulls out a strange vial of a glowing orange liquid. He then runs over and pulls out another identical vial from the other Goblin.

In Goblin: "Look drinky things. Me good Goblin."

Male Human Wizard/1

"There's nothing much we can do. I say we bury the bodies and have Dominque use a Horse to take the girl back to town. But who should tell her? Maya, could you come over here, please?" says Tamilius.

What time of day is it?

Grand Lodge

Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Trapper takes one of the vials from Git and examines it, wondering if he's seen it before.

Knowledge Check = 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

He shakes his head and says, "Never seen anything like this before in me life."

Male Human

Time: late afternoon about 4.

Git shakes his head "Stupid Dwarf. You drink and they make you feel better. Heal your wounds."

Male Human Wizard / 1st

"Taking the girl back... wise choice, but let's leave the decision of telling the girl up to Maya. Perhaps later would be less traumatic... Okay?"

Talberon began looking for something that he could use to dig a suitable grave with...

Do we have anything that we could do that with on us?

Trapper's eyes blaze!

He whirls around, yanks his dagger out of his belt, and presses the blade against Git's throat.

He screams in Goblin Tongue --

"YA FILTHY ARSE-MOUTHED LITTLE PIECE OF FUNGUS. IF YOU EVER SAY ANYTHING LIKE THAT AGAIN I'LL KNOCK THE TASTE OUT OF YE MOUTH!

Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius hears Trapper, though doesn't understand him, and can see the birds flying away from the sound. He looks at Tamilius "I agree, that's why I'm asking Maya over here. We should bury them then camp out for the night, it's the least we can do."looks over at the girl Sad times we're in

Human Human Fighter 1

I'd rather not force the young one to spend a night out in this goblin infested wilderness. I suggest that we bury them, and then force march back to town. We can put her and ourselves up in an Inn for the night.

Maya turns to the girl:

We're going to take you somewhere safe. Do you have any other family in the area? Perhaps and aunt or uncle?

She turns to trapper (sort of joking but not entirely)

You should give him a nick with your dagger and then have him drink one those potions. See if he's telling the truth, though I 'd hate to waste a healing potion on a goblin. Maybe one of you wizards can tell what they do.

Grand Lodge

Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Trapper looks at Maya and nods.

He grabs creature's hand, turns it palm up, and presses the dagger against Git's skin, without drawing blood.

Trapper speaks in the Common Tongue through clenched teeth.

"So, if me dagger draws blood, then this here potion will heal that wound? Want me to test it out on your hand?"

Male Human Wizard/1

"Trapper, could I see that? I'm a wizard, I can identify it. Maya, you're right. But don't think I thought of leaving her out here. Does Sandpoint have an orphanage?"

Human Human Fighter 1

If she has relatives we can leave her with, I'd rather take her to them than an orphanage, but if that is the only option then I suppose that is what must be done.

Male Human

Git squeals in fear. "Yes, Git not nasty any more." Trapper presses the point against his skin, "YES. YES. Git not lying, we have potion maker Gob give us these."

Ferike and Dominique walk over to the conversation where Dominique says. "If you wish we could take the child back to Sandpoint with us while you continue ahead." She looks around at the corpses and Git"I doubt you need us here anymore."

The girl shrugs "I don't know. Papa never let me leave the farm. Said it was to dangerous."

Trapper pulls the dagger away from Git's hand.

Impressive, he thinks. Most impressive. Need to put this in me journal. Me brothers told me that Goblins have no conscience at all ... things are curious. Curious AND dangerous.

He turns to Tamilius, and breathes a huge sigh of relief.

"Here, my friend. But a favor, if you please? By the tough love of Torag I hope we never have to use whatever is in this thing.
But if we do ... May I have to empty bottle?"

He gingerly hands the vial to the wizard.

Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius takes the bottle "I know not why you'd want an empty bottle, but it's not my business either." Tamilius casts Detect Magic on the bottle

Oh, the things I gathered at the junkyards of Absalom. Not any good junk here on the Wild Coast. I'd have thought it'd been just the opposite ...

Trapper holds up his index finger in gesture as if he's about to say something, then closes his mouth and nods at the Wizard.

"Much appreciated," he says, and bows slightly.

Male Human

Tamilius:
You look at the bottle an feel the healing energy pulsing from it. You quickly realise that these are two potions of Cure Moderate Wounds

Male Human Wizard/1

"He was right, they're healing potions. But why didn't the Goblins use them? Can anyone cast detect evil, or poison, or curse, or something?"

Grand Lodge

Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Were any of the horses wounded? We could try a dab of the potion on one of them and sees if it works. Me guess is that if it works on a horse, it may not work on a Goblin.

Perception Check for wounded horses
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

But then, again, I wouldn't know a wounded beast of burden if'n he hobbled up to me with three legs, one eye, and half an ear dangling from its head.

Male Human

Git can't make out Tamilius' words but he gets the idea that he is still not trusted so suddenly he bites the tip of his finger just enough to draw blood and holds it up so everyone can see, then lunges for the potion managing to get a small drop onto his injury. He smiles as the wound quickly nits together "See told you it was good. Now let me lead the way." He runs forward as far as the rope allows then waits impatiently for everyone to follow.

Human Human Fighter 1

Well I guess we do have goblins to deal with. Ferike and Dominique thank you for your offer. Take the girl back to Sandpoint and we'll go on ahead. We'll be back in town in a couple of days, and I'll be checking in to make sure she's been well taken care of.

Let's go kill some goblins now.

Male Human Barbarian / 1

Gozer looks from the little girl to the two guards. The look on his face clearly shows that he doesn't believe the guards can take care of the little girl. He looks back to the little one and hugs her in closer a slight growl escapes his throat directed towards the two guards.

He looks to the little girl...What do you want little one?

Grand Lodge

Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Trapper gestures to Gozer, creating a comical image of a stone giant bending over to talk to a hobbit.

I suggest, if I may, that these guards take the girl back to me good friend and barkeep, Ameiko Kaijitsu. After all, she's got plenty of reward money now that she's found out about the House Jaffare's Demeter and her strange voyage from the deep South.

Bluff Check
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Trapper carefully measures the reaction of the guards out of the corner of his eye.

It's as poor a bluff as any since me brother Reef tried to swindle that Bullette cub from the circus, but these dimwits may have bought it. If they're part of the 'good' town guard, they'll take care of the girl. If they're from the darker side ... well, then they'll wind up taking a short drop from a long rope once Kaijistu's done wit 'em.

Male Human

The little girl cuddles into Gozer's neck "Will you come back to see me?" Dominique comes over to Gozer and speaks softly to the child "Come on we've got somewhere important to take you." She gives Gozer a moment to say goodbye before taking her off the big man and putting her on a horse.

Dominique climbs up behind the child and waves farewell "Good luck, come back safe.". Before trotting slowly across the field, just before they get out of sight you hear the child's sweet, yet lonely words "Where is my mama and papa." Then they are gone.

Git wastes no time in dragging you away, he gives you a few seconds to make sure you have your possessions before jogging forward ahead of the group.

It doesn't take long before you arrive at the river once more, Git parts some small bushes revealing a deep hole in the ground. Looking down you see a steep decent that quickly vanishes into darkness.

In Goblin: "Here, told you we knew the way. But horses cannot come. Maybe Big Man cannot fit either."

Male Human Wizard/1

"Then we'll make him fit....and you'll be doing the digging. Is that clear? Now down you go, you little [ineligible word]."

Grand Lodge

Male Dwarf Rogue Level 2

Trapper rubs his hands together in glee.

Finally! he says, We can get out of this cursed sunlight! The eyes of Torag were not meant to peer at the ghastly candle in the sky for too many days on end!

Perception Check:
Trapper uses Perception Check to look all around the hole for any loot left behind by previous Pathfinders.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Knowledge Dungeoneering:
Using his Knowledge Dungeoneering Skill, Trapper triess to figure out anything about the hole: is it safe? natural? man-made? well-constructed? how old is it?
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Trap Check:
Trapper checks for traps, making sure there's nothing dangerous in or around the opening.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

Question:
Does Trapper see anything?

Male Human Wizard / 1st

Talberon leaned over and looked into the hole as Trapper milled about the opening, "How far in does it go I wonder? If it is a small natural cave, perhaps we could smoke them out."

It was nothing but obvious that Talberon had second thoughts about spelunking into a dark hole.

What time of day is it, etc?

Human Human Fighter 1

What's down there Git?

Male Human Barbarian / 1

Gozer looks at the goblin and smiles. Not waiting for the others he picks up the wretched thing by the neck from behind... not squeezing too tightly and goes into the hole holding his axe in one hand and Git in the other slightly extended using him as a shield.

Not a sound He whispers into the goblins ear. He emphasizes his point by slightly closing his hand applying pressure to Git's throat.
