Hanz Clearly eating large swatches of the fog on the way in was great entertainment... especially since it seemed to take it a moinute or two to reform into a solid mass... the It wasnt until you almost neared the town no doubt having 'eaten' wagonloads of the stuff that you felt your stomach start to... rebel a bit... Perhaps that wasnt the best of ideas.

Having been in silent meditation for the last part of the trip to the village, Brother Davco brightens up at the smell of fresh food and the sound of good cheer.

"Hanz, what have you been doing? You don't look well."

The fog didn't really have a taste. But its texture was kind of like cotton candy. And since it was just water, he could continue eating without every getting full. As with most simple people, the experience was so odd and entertaining that he did it all the way to Hardwick. It was only then that he felt anything from so much of it. It started as a queasy feeling in his stomach that grew into a stomach roiling nausea. But with one explosive burp, one that startled his mount and expelled some of the fog, the feeling was gone. "Fog bad," he said feeling better but not well.

Kasatha Brawler

Dharkantia had watched with some amusement as Hanz had ate the fog but she kept a worried eye on him.

Once within town she would look around taking note of the buildings before they got to the general store. Looking at the young boy oogling her, her eyes study him in return before she kneels.

"Hello, young one. What is your name? Mine is Dharkantia. (D-hark-aunt-e-ah). As you know we are new to town and I have a couple of questions. Could you answer them for me. In return I will answer any questions of yours." While youngsters weren't the best source of information all the time they were still a decent sort and always curious about people such as herself.

Timmain is my name m'am. Me mum owns this place. how is it you have four arms? That must be ever so useful. Do you folks want anything to eat. We aint got much with all the problems with the crops.

He began and while he was talking you all noticed a man, nearing middle aged came in to the general store and bar carrying two large burlap sacks which he set down with a sigh Even as he does so, you all notice the table of men near yours fix him with a derisive stare.

One of the glaring men shouts, "Get out of here, Denwith! We dont need your hellspawned crops ere!"

The newcomer looks hurt by the words but after a moment he glares back. "I dont know what you mean,Ivel, But my crops are as good as yours!"

No!" Ivel retorts/ "Yours are better, mine rot on the stalk while yours dont! Now why is that Aldon? What are you in league with eh?

Sense motive DC 20:
The man with the sacks, Aldon seems genuinely taken aback by the accusations that he is doing anything wrong.

Kasatha Brawler

"Nice to meet you Timmain. All of my race have four arms and yes, it can be very useful. Makes fighting and carrying stuff easier. Also, allows me to work on things better. I think we could all use a little to eat. It would be greatly appreciated. Some broth will do fine for me but my other companions may require more. Why don't you see what they need and I will worry about paying for it okay?"

She looked up looking at the middle aged man and would study him and the sacks he was carrying. When the others started to talk she pieced together his name was Aldon Denwith.

Leaning close to the boy. "What are they talking about?"

"Hellspawn?" he says confused. Then he gets a sparkle in his eye. His father had always mentioned hellspawn as evil and having horns and scales and such. "Oh, do you have corn with horns? Or potatoes with scales?" he asks like a child would ask about candy.

Even as Brother Davco spoke quietly to the man, two of the men at the far table stood up.

I don..dont know why." The man called Aldon Denwith said with a slight stammer. "I just dont know."

"Well I do, perhaps a beating will jar the truth from your lips! The man balled up a fist shaking it for a moment before he started to advance. "You've called down dark magics on the rest of us while you grow rich havent you?!?

The man advances while the second heavier set man moves forward hefting an axe handle from a barrel on the way torwards the bar/counterop.

"Um." Hanz looks back and forth between the combatants confused. These people were getting awfully tense over farming secrets. But it was obvious a fight was about to break out so he would stand on the side of his companions though he wasn't sure why. Hanz turns to the table closest and grabs a chair. "Can I borrow this?" he asks the people at the table.

Going to use the chair as an improvised weapon. Club? Greatclub? Only using a move until one of them initiates combat.

Kira's eyes pop wide, so much undercurrent of tenseness. The big folk were about to have it and the even bigger Hanz reaching for a chair. As much fun as this might be, she relied on cliches to keep her alive. The one jumping to the top of the pile now was Discretion is the better part of Valor. Moving through the tall folk was easy enough with their attention elsewhere, She reaches Aldon and tugs at his shirt. She gives her best puppy dog eyes, "Lets talk outside. This argument too heated to solve any problem now." If she can, she will grab his hand and insistently pull him towards the door, or kitchen, or anywhere else to get him out of sight.

Almost immediately the lead farmer, the one named Ivel, when he spotted Dharkantia and her threat went pale, his friend armed with the axe handle at least seemed of sterner stuff...at least until Hanz lifted up the table like it was a chair.. and Katja strode forward like she owned the place. He too figited as Kira wisely Alden from the inn/general store.

Slowly they move back to their seats the one man dropping his axe handle though by their surly grumbling you all can tell they still angry and frightened.

The store keep sighed heavily.

"Look, thanks for the help so to speak, this blasted leaf rot has got everybody on edge, truth is I'm not much better. Can you.. can you tell Aldon I can't take his goods, No one will buy them, I'll need the coin for whatever the merchants out of Sule are charging for things nowadays blasted land pirates that they are.

The woman paused paling for a moment as her son came scooting out from behind the countertop where he had bolted off to and hid once the ruckus had started.

"I hate asking strangers for things, But Im worried about Alden. Farmer Denwith that is. He's a good man, and I can't believe he's dealing with dark powers or the like. But with the recent troubles I can't be sure he will make it home at night. tempers being what they are and strange things coming out of the fog and wind.

With a worried frown she reached under the bar and pulled out a pouch that chinkled with the sound of coin.

"Its not much but you folk look capable. I dont suppose you lot would take a gold apeice and some space silver to walk him home and keep him out of trouble would you?

With great care, Hanz puts the table back and even goes so far as to pick the napkins up off the floor and place them back where they were. He then turns to the farmers that nearly started a scuffle. "Paw always said, Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft!" He smiles after the unintentional threat. The saying seemed to fit since their might have been a lot of hitting. "Also, we have farm up north. It do good. No bad fog though. It feel like cotton candy but sit like bad egg. Not good. We fix though. All crops do good." Having said his peace, Hanz waddles back to the table with the others and continues his meal, only looking up after he was almost done? Moving next to Hanz, Frank replied
"I believe I saw Kira leave this establishment with the farmer who had unharmed crops."

Turning and speaking up so that all his present comrades can hear him, Frank adds
"Perhaps we should all help Kira walk Alden home..."

Frank then pauses and turns to the woman offering coin, trying to turn her offer down.
"We've already received payment for our investigations here, I don't think it would be right to take your coin."

The farmer looks a bit flummoxed both by your questions and well the situation inside.

Round these parts we grow plenty of things, wheat and other grains in the spring, corn and maters and the like during the summer months, and when fall hits we usually plant things like taters, and other ground plants. As for the fog, it wasn't so bad last fall, but this spring it just seems to sprout out of the ground and hang awful thick and heavy than it used to.

Dharkantia nodded to the woman. "Ma'am, thanks for the offer but we will see him home." She gives her a light salute and looks at the young boy. "Listen to what your mom says. She is a good woman." The fog? help with the crops? nope cant say its good for anything cept hiding them nasty critters that are starting to rot away too it seems and I wouldnt call that good. Thanks for getting my things. You folk are of course welcome out at the farm. I'm sure my wife would thank you for not letting me get beat on.

"Okay," Hanz says sadly. If the farmer didn't know it was likely he wouldn't be able to figure it out. Its a long, quiet moment as they walk before he realized, "Wait. Critters?"

Seeing the others mount up and the conversation putter away, she clued in to thier imminent departure. Oddly enough, she starts off walking along with a jaunty whistle. At first, she falls quickly behind and hidden by the fog. But then the tune stops, and a pennant of the SilverShield on a lance surfaces once again above the fog keeping an even pace. The pennant remained downwind if there was such a thing with this fog or at least a little distant from the wagon. No need to spook the horses with wolf scent.

She loads her crossbow, and keeps it at the ready just in case.

Well wolves are always a problem near farmlands, and there have been a cow or two that has gone plain mad, foaming away at the mouth looking all sickly and charging a fellow. Its the Tyrgs that worry me. Never used to have problem with them attacking people, though their screeches and the way they pull back their faces can cause an awful fright. But my nearest neighbor a few weeks back when he was still speakin ta me of course had a pack take down one of his healthy cows. Said they looked all swollen and blotchy.

He said spitting off the side of the wagon then making a motion to ward of evil. The was a patch of woods off to the far right of the road. A small copse of elm that looked sickly and droopy.

"So you have problems with diseased Krenshar. The crops are also failing. What do you do different from all the others? Why and when did this rotting start? You know more I would suspect than you were willing to say in public."

As you traveled forward heading north and a bit east along an old dirt road the fog began to lessen, to the point it was even possible to see little Kira in her practice charges. The fields and land her became slow rolling hills, and the roadway eased itself between them.

As Kira darted around a curved dip and her pennant was lost sight of Dharkantia heard the sounds of frightened grunting, and half yelled out threats torwards something.

Kira could see instantly as she made her way past the dip what looked like a gaggle of farmers trying to fend off a pack of strange diseased looking wild beasts. One of the men spots you Kira, and calls out for aid HELP US! echoes in the air even as one of the beasts leaps onto him from behind.

I am working on maps and I promise at somepoint they will be involved in the campaign but for now, a large pack of the Tyrg (Krenshar) (7)are surrounding five farmers about 50 feet from Kira, and 80 feet from everyone else
At every 30 feet increment ranged attacks have a cumalative 10% chance of missing.

initiative:

Dharkantia: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
kira: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Hanz: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Katja: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
frank: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Brother Davco: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12
farmers: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Krenshar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Party has won initiative over everything. after everyone moves the krenshar's then the farmers go

"Help?" Hanz asks. "I help." He moves quickly through the fog until the scene is finally revealed. For a moment, his fear wars with his protective instinct. He was terrified of Krenshar but people needed his help. Fear lost as he moved towards the fight. "I help," he says a little more confidently.

Double move closer for 60ft.
