The Seer's Journey - DM Downrightamazed

Game Master downrightamazed

A young refugee girl, blessed by the gods with foresight, is accompanied by six warriors to one of the most dangerous places in the world, where a great hero will die.

We'll work on your combat headers and such, Hurin, it's no biggie. Nasmarra is right, though, there are clearer ways to do things. We'll get it! 'S all good! :-) Remember the "How to format your text" button that's underneath the text box where you enter your posts; it has all this info listed there.

One thing I will mention, though; please be very explicit when you're using a hero point and say that you're doing so. For example; Hero Point for an extra Standard Action, otherwise it does get confusing.

So! Back to the story, Jorzan just totally out-foxed Justahl and then got smacked around by Hurin. I am VERY interested to see how this plays out, especially with Belsarious standing there ALSO intent on killing the archivist and Kelne and Justahl and now Astar on the scene...

Man, if someone does kill the archivist, Van-Haera is gonna be mad.

Male Human Fighter 8, Ranger 3

I tend towards the standard fiction format myself, using bold on rare occasions to denote enraged shouting (as seen in my latest post).

I would edit said post in light of DRA beating me to the punch, but I prefer to think Kelne's now angry enough to shout at Jorzan even though he's unconscious. Come to that, I see an explanation of why Cassandra refers to Kelne as the 'mean man' in the very near future.

Levelling to come later tonight.

Yes I apologize, I had it in there if you look, but I didn't figure out how to make it blue to make it stand out. I am not just open to critique i am actively seeking it. This is my first pbp game and I welcome learning from all the vets.

And I agree this is a very intense scene, but very exciting as well!

Well shucks, and here I had this cool scene where Jorzan gets to first use his Shadow Jump power to get away and go for the old man again and Hurrin has to go and beat him on Init. Dang it. Oh well. Kid's certainly gonna need an asprin or two when he wakes up though.

DRA, I know you detest PvP, and it was not my intent to invite or begin such, but, that said, I gave Jorzan what I felt was a realistic DC for a Will save to not give into his anger, and he failed it miserably.

Which, given all that has befallen him in his childhood and recently, does not seem all that surprising to me.

And that was something I wanted to address a bit as well, if I may.

It's fine that Kelne (and probably everyone else) doesn't understand Jorzan very well, for they really have not known each other for that long and they are, in most ways at least, cut from a very different cloth. But I thought it might be helpful to explain my thoughts on Jorzan and how I play him, or, more accurately, how he plays himself through me.

Kelne, and perhaps none of the others as well, will not ever be able to fully understand Jorzan because none of them will ever be able to even remotely understand what the shadowdancer has gone through in his young life. (The only possible exception to this that I see, based on everyone's Backgrounds, is Hurin. I could see the Dwarf 'losing it' in certain situations, especially if they involved children or the abuse of little ones. In fact, this already pretty much happened once with him in his backstory)

On top of their never being able to relate to the unbelievable mental, physical, emotional and spiritual pain and trauma of his past, they also have no idea (and really, neither does he) just how much his Shadow Powers, and the still current influence of what Bal-zat has done to him, effect him right now.

As an example, in his head Kelne compares Jorzan's freaking out and wanting to kill the old man to Kelne's going around killing all the Ormirians. There's simply no remote , equitable, comparison between the two. Kelne had his girl stolen and turned into a vamp, found out his family and everyone he knew was aware of the 'deal with devil' and, even worse, accepted it. Certainly not a good day and definitely a reason to get a mad on and wish and seek justice and revenge, not necessarily in that order.

Jorzan was stolen as a child from his family, tortured unbelievably for nearly his entire childhood, has had his physical form and very essence messed and twisted around by an immensely powerful Arch-Wizard (He is Arch, right??) and is literally connected to the living Shadow Realm. Plus, he's got all kinds of people insinuating and now flat out telling him that he is the reincarnation or something of the very same being who is responsible for all that has happened to him and everyone he knew and cared about as a child. That's not a 'bad day', that's 'Barely Holding Your Sh!t Together on a daily basis', at least in my book it qualifies as such. (and, through an ex-girlfriend, I do have way more up close and personal experience then I ever wanted or wish on anybody with how incredibly much a past of horrible childhood abuse can effect someone well into their adulthood, perhaps for their entire life, if they never get the proper treatment and care and love and support to get over it and/or work through it and learn to live with it. And as yet, as far as I know, Jorzan has never had any kind of 'therapy' (unless you count killing Orcs and such) or even really anyone to ever speak to about the trauma of his past. Except perhaps Tanel and, par for the core in Jorzan's life, Tanel's dead too. Poor kid! ; )

Taking everything into account, I'm actually amazed that Jorzan keeps it together, and is as functional as often as he is. The occasionally 'spaz out' seems entirely reasonable to me (and, I must admit, often quite fun). I mean, seriously, the Kid's got a LOT on his plate for a Seventeen year old! Or anyone of Any age for that matter!

But perhaps it's just me (or, you know, Jorzan), who sees all that this way? Does this logic train seem on shaky rails to the rest of any of the rest of you? And, more importantly, is it annoying any of you or disturbing or disrupting the game in any way?

I feel that, thus far, Jorzan has been reacting pretty genuinely and accurately to the (Awesome) stuff DRA keeps throwing at him (and us all), but if this stance in any way diminishes the game for anyone else, I will gladly tone it down or change it as appropriate.

Phaugh. Ok, got all that off my chest. Looking forward to feedback on all that, if any is forthcoming. But if not, I'm also happy to just continue on with the show as I think I said all I needed to say.

Cheers.

That could actually be a VERY interesting talk, especially as there's a very good chance it was all done by the same dude! (or people working for him perhaps)

The three of them definitely have a lot in common, in several ways. The big huge, glaring difference though, and why the two Allear are generally more 'stable' than Jorzan, is that the two of them have the undying love and support of each other. Jorzan's got diddly squat in that department.

I mean, not only does he not even have a girlfriend, but instead of 'Love and Support', he actually gets yelled at, even when he's unconscious! (heh heh, sorry Kelne, couldn't resist. The image of a fuming Kelne berating an unconscious Jorzan is a great one ; )

Well, this is My theory at least. (hope I'm not revealing anything I shound't be here Boss, but it's all been available for anyone to read- I think??- in one of or both of our two crossed threads here now.)

For one thing, there's the Black Inkwell abomination. When he was a child, Jorzan definitely saw something looking like that in Bal-Zat's study/ In fact, he's wearing a necklace of a wooden dagger that was dipped in that ink!

And I believe the Aellar have quite their own experience with a certain black ink, yes?

Then there's the fact that the Black Dragonflight seem to be after both Jorzan and the Aellar (more so poor lil Jorzan I think though...)

And, hmm, I can't seem to recall all the other reasons at present, DRA has more threads sticking out of this story than a...than a...than a well something with a lot of threads sticking out. But hey, Give me a break! It's 5:30 am! Wit and goodest writing like, you know, skills, departed a Long time ago.

Why aren't I asleep yet?? Anyhoo, I just know that's it's a theory that's been building and rattling around in my head for some time now...

Belsarious is tallying votes and will go with the majority, though he will not stop anyone else from either finishing the job or from healing the man.

He is neutral after-all.

Male Human Fighter 8, Ranger 3

Oh, I have no issues with how you play Jorzan, given his background, much as he may drive Kelne to fits of quite coherent rage on occasion. Intellectually, he knows Jorzan's got rather severe issues, far in excess of anything he's experienced himself, and he did just see his brother die, as a result of doing Bal-Zat's nefarious bidding, no less, which has to be an aggravating factor. On the other hand, he does have his own anger issues, and tends to think and say uncharitable things while angry.

As to the comparison to his own situation, on the one hand, wanting Jorzan to conform to his own standards of behaviour is a bit on the irrational side. On the other hand, he genuinely believes that this kind of behaviour is going to get Jorzan killed. There's also that sneaking, treacherous suspicion, in light of recent revelations, that he's doomed regardless. Which, since he does care about him, further feeds into the anger.

Just how he intends to try and reason with Jorzan, following the altercation, remains to be seen.

crap the dreaded eater of posts hit my computer, but oh well. had some cool interactions in it but dragons landing kind of trumped it.

@Astar: As a resident of Stormfare -- even a part-time one -- you would know who Van-Galazzan is, and wouldn't be surprised to see him show up at a conflagration like this. He's sort of a combination sheriff/mayor/gossip. Anyone else who lived in the city would be in the same boat.

For those from out-of-town who didn't already meet Van-Galazzan a couple thousand posts ago, you would know that Stormfare and Warbane are both Draconic Protectorates, so meeting a Prefect wouldn't be a total shock, though to be fair it isn't every day one converses politely (or not) with a Great Wyrm dragon.

DRA, do you, or does anyone, happen to recall what we Seer's Journeyers may have heard about 'tha abominations' ?

Good question. A DC20 K(Arcana) check means you have heard of the Twelve Abominations of Marianasu, and generally what they are (super-powerful, super-evil magical artifacts of godlike power), but you wouldn't know any specifics.

By the way, tremendous posts these last few days, everybody; you guys are completely blowing me away!

Hey belsarious I am thinking Jamacian or deep south pigeon English when I am listening to your character talk. Am I right?

Nope, you're fine, Bel! Added a nice bit of mystery and context, I thought.

Also, Jorzan; I think it's interesting how much Belsarious gets to you. It's a relationship I'd love to explore, but alas; no time at the moment...

Hurin, see my PM for an answer to your spoilered question in IC.

Ha! I never heard Belsarious as speaking with a Jamaican accent before, but now I don't think I'll be able Not too! lol

And ya, I'm still not sure myself what Jorzan's reaction to Belsarious is all about, but I have a suspicion it may have something to do with the darkness, and/or the Shadow, which has touched them both. It seems that Belsarious senses something of this as well.

I also have a sneaking suspicion that, knowing you as I do DRA, that the Seers and the Knights shall most certainly be meeting again. ; )

Mmmmmmmmmaybe.

Okay, so, *handwave handwave*, here's the deal; you all have 16 hours in Stormfare to rest and re-stock and explore and do whatever the heck you want. Your room and board are alike covered by the University and the Council, under order of Van-Galazzan. The new PCs are about to be asked by Van-Haera if they accept the mission (Nasmarra already has, but her quarters are in the library, so she's headed that way anyway), and then they'll be on their own cognizance.

I would be grateful if you all could keep any weapon and/or gear requests out of the realm of twinkery, as usual.

Use this time for any last preparations, or for any scenes with other PCs or major NPCs with whom you would like to interact. I'll give this a day or two and if no one is pursuing anything then on we will go, 'kay?

As for the prisoners of Ormir; anything left in any of the tapestries is stuck in that location. So in that case, they're stuck in a pocket dimension. It's reachable, but would take some effort to find.

Lastly, I'm handwaving that Hurin gave Jorzan his stuff back. The Prefect would order it, if nothing else.

Male Human Rogue(Poisoner) 5/ Shadowdancer 6| AC23 T17 F18; HP 88/88, CMD 22, F/R/W 6/14/7, Percep +20 Drkvsn 60', Init +6

Ah, I just made that last post and now read this one here. Would you like to to edit out the bit about his asking for his stuff back from Hurin? I have no problem doing so.

And just to be clear, are we supposed to be, or able to, ask for things up to a certain amount? Or to get to our 9th level value level? There's nothing I can really think of that Jorzan needs, but there's certainly a few things that could be helpful and/or interesting ; )

Male Human Fighter (Lore Warden) 8 / Wizard (Scroll Scholar) 1

Astar will keep all peasant railguns in the realm of theory.

I'll get to another post tomorrow, probably. Work stuff is keeping me from having any fun.

Male Dwarf Fighter 7/Barbarian 2 AC29 HP128 F+14 W+6 R+6 Perception +14

Too late I already gave the stuff back. We must have posted about the same time. I think it plays out just fine as written. It was a good opening to do it.

Jorzan: If it wasn't already clear by now, I will state it explicitly: I greatly mislike PCs taking advantage of civic and/or NPC boons to say "GIMME ALL DA MAGICK STUFFS HURR DURR".

And, just for the record, "9th level value level" is absolutely meaningless to me. I don't for a second think that there's an amount of money and stuff you should have just because you're at a certain level. If you have the gear to do the job at hand, that's good enough. If you're expecting to be handed a s@@@load of treasure just to reach some sort of parity, well, you're in for disappointment.

If there's nothing Jorzan needs, then he should ask for nothing. Simple as that. That karma will come around, I promise you. Me saying "now you can get stuff" isn't an invitation to bleed the city dry, it's an invitation to see if there's any gaps in your equipment list, and fill them as is possible with what's available here.

Yup, I agree, worked out well RP-wise while still leaving much to work with.

DRA, unless anyone stops him, Jorzan is heading to Pytor's coffeeshop for some Klah.

And while looking up the name of Jorzan's friend and establishment, I came across a few other interesting things. Like, did we (or Kelne) ever find out what the "Manifest of the Everdawn" was? Some sort of book or pamphlet? Maybe Astar or Nasmirra would know...hmmm.

And also, where's SNOWY got off too??

HAhahahaa, I can guarantee neither Nasmarra nor Astar will know what that is, unless they have Profession(Sailor).

Pyotr would welcome you, I've no doubt!

And Snowy's around. He's in the library. Owls LOVE libraries.

Woah, Woah! Just askin' Boss. Neither of my PC's have ever even remotely done a "GIMME ALL DA MAGICK STUFFS HURR DURR", have they? If anything I think I've usually gone the opposite way, at least GP value-wise.

While finding treasure and loot is Awesome, it's also sometimes nice to have the funds to just buy something you think might be useful to your PC. With this whole NPC/Civic boon thing, I just ask because I like to be clear and don't want to push things or ask for too much. For example, the one item I can think of at the moment that I'd like Jorzan to have is a Ring of Sustenance, which runs at 2,500. Mainly because Jorzan's dreams have been getting worse and he's enjoying sleeping less and less. Plus, being able to be awake most of the night is a great advantage when it comes to protecting Cassandra. But Jorzan's also fine to buy it himself. So I was just asking as I wasn't sure if that's the kind of thing that would be ok to requisition or if you consider that to be too much?

Also, I want to say that I think i actually prefer your way of not keeping track of Wealth per Level amounts, as doing so that way seems a bit too contrived and stiff to me. But some DM's and players DO prefer, and sometimes even Insist, on doing things that way. I never like to assume, so I ask.

On another note, for convenience sake, here's the list of items Jorzan gave to Van-Heara and asked her to identify (minues the cash and gems of course ; ):

(From Sinkhole, Camor's Battle, Near Drow City)

You find
-four magic wands,
-a magic rod,
-a scroll case with some kind of involved essay or story on it in a language neither of you recognizes immediately,
-two scroll cases with some kind of actual magic scroll in them,
-two composite longbows that appear to be both magically enhanced and strength-rated,
-14 arrows tipped with strange capsules that are clearly NOT of Enhathladi design,
-three magic longswords,
-a ring with some kind of arcane inscription and a beautiful lapis stone set in the top,
-five pairs of manacles, all with magic inscriptions on them and runes in Abyssal,
-a magic glaive with infernal runes on it,
-an amulet which may or may not be magic but it sure looks fancy,
-a disgusting bracelet that appears to be made out of preserved human fingers with runes burned into the flesh,
-and a silvery bracelet with arcane characters and religious symbols on it.
-Lastly, you find a half-dozen coin purses with about 12,000gp worth of precious gems and coins.

I recall Aylaeth going rather bonkers demanding things in Izmir. I didn't want a repeat of that. So, yes; at least one of your PCs has.

Hmm...I need to think about this. I invite and encourage comments from the rest of the party in the meantime. My gut reaction is to say it's unnecessary since I handwave food, for the most part, and you have plenty of people to keep watch during the nights, so most of the reasons for needing such a thing are not mechanical. But meh. I dunno. I'll get back to you on this.

Male Human Rogue(Poisoner) 5/ Shadowdancer 6| AC23 T17 F18; HP 88/88, CMD 22, F/R/W 6/14/7, Percep +20 Drkvsn 60', Init +6

No need to get back to me on the ring of sustenance as it is not very important at all and I was just using it as an example of the price value of something I might consider asking for. It's not something that makes much real difference in-game, for as you say, you handwave food and stuff anyway, I just thought it might provide some interesting RP possibilities. And besides, as I've already said, Jorzan has more than enough GP to just buy it if I want.

But DRA, I'm sorry but I have to protest, and take some small offence as well, to your saying that you recall Aylaeth "going rather bonkers demanding things in Izmir" as that is simply not a true or factual statement. Here is why I say this.

First you had posted this response to a question of mine (emphasis mine):

DM Downrightamazed wrote:
Aylaeth Brely'an wrote:
Still need to pick out some items. I think I had been under a misconception that items were much less available than they apparently are.

No, you're correct -- availability is not really terrific, BUT you can ask for whatever you want. There's no guarantee that everyone is going to get all they're asking for here. But nonetheless this is an organized situation where the Captain is looking to get a laundry list from you guys, and he's gonna do his best to get it all for you. Also, Sir Damian has put forth a modicum of diplomacy on the part of the whole party to smooth the way.

Then, this is what Aylaeth asked for:

-lessor Rod of Enlarge or Selective
-cloak of resistance +1 or Amulet of natural armor +1 (for Tora'an)
-Wand of Silent Image (level 1)
-Wand of Lightnig Bolt (if Mai doesn't mind taking Fireball?)
- +1 Crossbow (Definitely last item on the list)
-Enhathladi BOLTS! ; )

And this is what she got:

+1 and Holy crossbow
Lesser Rod of Enlarge,
Amulet of Armor +1,
Wand of Silent Image (CL1)
wand of Lightning Bolt (CL6)
10 phials of Alchemical Battle Fire and 10 of Acid Bolts

So, you actually gave her a fair bit more than she asked for, as she had not requested her crossbow to be made Holy as well as +1 and to be honest I was quite happily surprised that you made the wand CL6. And finally, (and I use this only for example and comparison to make my point, for I was more than happy with the great haul she was given) from doing a rough, quick calculation, it seems that everything that Aylaeth received totaled together added somewhere midway between what some received and what others received. She was most certainly not at the top of the list, and is still nowhere near it, in terms of value of items she's asked for or received (and I have no need or desire for her to be, at all).

So, I truly fail to see how, in any way, shape, or form, any of this adds up to she/my "going rather bonkers demanding things"

Now, the only thing which, based on the IC posts, might indicate such, was your expression that her asking for a potion of Restoration so that she could stay up all night studying was "tacky". From the point of view you explained, that she could just sleep instead and study the next day, I agree, the request seemed a bit much. Which is why I withdrew it and she never received that potion. And besides, I also explained back then that the only reason I had her ask for it in the first place was because I had been under the erroneous assumption that we would be leaving as soon as possible the next day, so that she wouldn't have any other time or way to research all she needed to except by staying up all night. Once I became aware that we were not leaving first thing the next day, I immediately withdrew the request for the potion as it was of course completely unnecessary.

So, was it the request and withdrawal for a potion of restoration that you found to be "going rather bonkers demanding things"? Because otherwise I honestly have no idea what you are referring to.

I think the jamacian accent fits, maybe one day the long hair will go into dread-locks....

I actually see three points of conflict, Bels vote on the archivist was outright dismissed by a pally, and then yes a bit with Jorzan.

Though I did just post that Belsarious thinks the ink under all of his skin would literally turn him into a dark elf......

Kelne did indeed find out what the Manifest of the Everdawn was, though I forget who, if anyone, he communicated it to. It was the cargo/passenger list for the ship, presumably being of interest because it had Cassandra's name on it.

On the topic of equipment, I think I'll maintain a list of party loot on Kelne's sheet, just for convenience. Gives us an idea what the "on our own dime" budget is, as opposed to the "mooching off NPCs" budget.

In terms of the wealth by level guidelines, the question only really arises when we get new entrants. It hadn't really occurred to me that we might not be roughly tracking the guidelines overall, so seeing the starting wealth fixed considerably lower than the guidelines came as a bit of a surprise. On the whole, I definitely approve. There's more likelihood of us valuing what we get if it's a nifty bonus rather than an expected 'right'.

For the record, Kelne's only request will be that somebody work towards getting those poor sods out of their gem prisons. If he's not around to see it, so be it, so long as it gets done. As to the treasure, it's bound to be put to good use by the citizens of Stormfare.

Still weighing up a couple of options on the levelling. Shouldn't be long in any case.

are we supposed to level?

Kelne, Jorzan's already got a fairly extensive Loot List going on in his profile, but feel free to duplicate, correct or add to it as you see fit.

And yes, I do recall now about the Everdawn being the ship, don't recall though if Jorzan knows that.

As for the gems prisoners, Jorzan would also be interested in getting back there. Perhaps not for quite all the same reasons as Kelne, but still ; )

And Yup Bel, since about a week ago I think. So level away mate!

LOL! Ah geez, I let this escalate way too far, my bad. Okay let's see if I can wrap this up somewhat so we can focus on other things.

But DRA, I'm sorry but I have to protest, and take some small offence as well, to your saying that you recall Aylaeth "going rather bonkers demanding things in Izmir" as that is simply not a true or factual statement.

I'm sorry you're offended, James, I do apologize, and you make many good points I have difficulty refuting without getting into very subjective territory and making a bunch of really long posts about my own difficulties communicating via a text-based medium, etc. etc. Personally I'd rather spend that time gaming, so I'm going to let things lie and move on. If, however, my apology is unsatisfactory and you'd like to continue the discussion, we can certainly do so via PM, that's cool with me.

All that being said, however, everything I stated above re:NPC goodies still stands. I am NOT inviting inferences of accusation, I'm simply specifying how I like my games to run, for the newcomers as much as anyone else; treat NPCs and their boons with respect, and that respect will come back to you. Don't attempt to use NPC boons to fill out your wish list. Be reasonable. :-)

"Spending time gaming" will always get my vote. I'm good to go.

Due to a bad case of the "Working at 4AM all Week" fever, I can't absolutely promise a post in the next day or two. I'll be able to read and keep up, and since I know DRA wants to put some hustle on, I won't mind a bit of Astar nodding along to whatever comes up. Basically, don't wait on me if I'm holding things up.

For the second feat from turning level 9 that I forgot to snag, I've picked Lunge, which should help Astar get some extra versatility with just who he decides to ruin the day of.

Also, I'd like a ruling on the Prescience power here: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/wizard/arcane-schools/paizo--- arcane-schools/classic-arcane-schools/divination/foresight

I've seen two interpretations of it online, one where you have to decide to use the Prescience roll instead of rolling for what you want to replace with it, and one where you can decide to replace a bad roll with it after the fact. (http://paizo.com/forums/dmtz2tl2?Foresight-School)

I'm fine with whichever way you fall on this, DRA, given that I chose it for flavor more than anything. I just wanna be totally clear on the situation before I need to use it.

Of course, I'll state it now if I haven't been clear enough about it: Having tons of fun.

Awesome! Glad you're enjoying it so far! ^_^ And no worries if you can't get something down in the next day or two, just join back in when you can. Thanks for the heads up.

Hurin is still here. He is just waiting for the scene with the dragon.

'Tis up, good sir!

So, who went with Van-Haera? Right now my list looks like this:

The children
Kelne
Astar
Hurin
Nasmarra (though she has since departed)

I'm waiting to see if Jorzan will be going elsewhere, or waiting with Kelne, not sure where Bel is going, Gray is hanging out by himself, not sure where Justahl is going.

Male Human Fighter 8, Ranger 3

Okay, levelling:
HP roll: 1d10 ⇒ 9
6 skill points, allocated to Use magic device, Survival, Stealth, Perception, Knowledge (nature) and Handle animal.
Two feats, these being Critical Focus and Improved sunder.

And on the topic of party loot, I've gone back and tallied up the spending on the last shopping expedition. There was talk of divvying up the group's funds after selling the old stuff, but I don't think that ever happened, so I'm considering it all as one lump sum.

We began with 56,464 gold, and spent some 47,467, leaving 8,997 at the end. I'll note that none of that was spent on Justahl, just in case he has any karma coming his way as a result. I believe any loose items dating back that far have either been distributed or sold, with the exception of a few unidentified curiosities and some unpriced gems.

So, including the stuff picked up on Kelne and Jorzan's expedition, party loot stands as follows:

-20,997 gp worth of gold and gems
-4 rubies, 1 emerald
-2 rings and a bag of chunks of unidentified metal (taken from the tengu)

Still to be identified items:
-four magic wands,
-a magic rod,
-a scroll case with some kind of involved essay or story on it in a language neither of you recognizes immediately,
-two scroll cases with some kind of actual magic scroll in them,
-two composite longbows that appear to be both magically enhanced and strength-rated,
-14 arrows tipped with strange capsules that are clearly NOT of Enhathladi design,
-three magic longswords,
-a ring with some kind of arcane inscription and a beautiful lapis stone set in the top,
-five pairs of manacles, all with magic inscriptions on them and runes in Abyssal,
-a magic glaive with infernal runes on it,
-an amulet which may or may not be magic but it sure looks fancy,
-a disgusting bracelet that appears to be made out of preserved human fingers with runes burned into the flesh,
-a silvery bracelet with arcane characters and religious symbols on it.

I'll also note that anybody who did take a magic weapon from Ormir's treasury should make sure it's noted down on their sheet. Some of them may well have been left behind, intended for later distribution. I know Kelne left the greatsword he found. Anyway, here's the list:

Kelne finds a +1 Adamantine Cunning Construct-baned Warhammer.
Jorzan, who took extra time to search, finds a pair of adamantine battleaxes; one is called Lightning Stormaxe and the other is called Thunder Stormaxe. They appear to have been made and intended for use as a pair. The writing on them is all in dwarvish.
Thunder Stormaxe: +1 Adamantine Thundering Menacing Battleaxe
Lightning Stormaxe: +1 Adamantine Shocking Menacing Battleaxe
Min finds a +2 Adamantine Frost Longsword
Jorzan finds a +1 Silver Keen Short Sword That has two channels carved in the blade that allow a double-dose of poison to be administered by those with such a skill. A small trigger ejects the poison, so the doses may be applied, then triggered at a later time, and they may be used both at once (forcing the victim to make two saves right in a row) or used independently of each other. The rogue also finds a +1 Corrosive burst Short Sword, though it is made just of steel.
Sir Justahl finds a +1 Flaming Burst Battleaxe.
Kelne finds a +1 Mithral Flaming Dragon-baned Greatsword.
Min finds a +1 Silver Disruption Warhammer.
Aylaeth finds a +1 Flaming Dragon-baned Longsword.

Ahhhhh frickin king kong! In the library! With the candle stick! Heh heh you showed up as a silverback gorilla for a second I knew you were a lycanthrope and that explains all the banana peels!

That is some hardcore weaponry there by the way.

Kelne are you with us now you had said this:

Quote:
For his part, Kelne trailed along with the group heading for the library. He had some questions for Van-Haera, as the closest representative of the university's mages. Having belatedly recalled that the original tapestry they'd found had linked to an extra-dimensional space, he had realised that getting back into it wouldn't be as straightforward as casting a teleport spell, even if that were safe.

If so please read my spoiler

Male Human Fighter 8, Ranger 3

Kelne was kind of interrupted by the screaming and sword-brandishing. How long until he arrives at the library depends on how much time he spends discussing drow with Belsarious, but I can't see him spending long on the conversation. Regardless, he's not allowed in until Van-Haera's spoken to Hurin and Astar, so I'm sure if he's not waiting in the lobby now, he will be by the time they get out.

I think I borrowed the adamantine Thunder stormaxe from Jorzan when facing off with the furnace golem. If he wants it back, I'll be looking for some kind of adamantine dagger or chisel at least to replace it. I think I left the flaming battleaxe behind.
