TheRonin's Skull and Shackles

Game Master TheRonin

Be A Pirate, why not?

Alright, I have way to much free time on my hand so I decided to try GMing this one.

6 characters, looking for fun and interesting, not necessarily the most mechanically sound or drama-filled characters (Though hey, thats fine too!) Recruitment probably will only be open for a few days because I know how fast these fill up.

20 point buy. three traits, one from the campaign and two others of your choice.

Restrictions: I hate restrictions don't you? I mean its YOUR character right? Want to play a full-plate wearing paladin in a pirate crew go for it. (Of Course he might drown in 5 minutes or be stabbed to death by other characters, but thats how it goes!) Classes? Any. Emerging Guns for firearms if anyone chooses to use them. Paizo material only though. Words of Power are usable if you want. Any Alignment. (Just keep in mind Paladin's might have to walk the plank and psychotic evil people might not survive on a ship! Unless of course you can convince everyone you are cool!)

A quick house rule. Piranha Strike works on all finessed weapons. So just a heads up.

Other than that have fun? If you want to RP a little in the recruitment thread to see how character chemistry works I am okay with that. Consider it encouraged actually.

Activity: I will be on quite a bit, so people who can post more frequently will be appreciated, but no one is going to get kicked out if suddenly they get busy at work and can't post more than once a day or something.

Other than that, this is my first time GMing anything permanently so bare with me!

If I've forgotten anything let me know.

I am definitely interested in participating in this campaign. I have a few ideas running through my head and will work to get one up as soon as I pick one that I really like.

Dotting. Here is Henk. Stats in the profile, I will add a third trait a bit later.

Dark Archive

I'd love to play a Wind elemental Wizard (Buccaneer’s Blood trait)

Lugo Torx is a bit strange for a wizard. He hates being all cramped up in a tower. He prefers to feel the open air in his lungs, and the spray of salt on his face. Lugo's Father was a "trader" operating out of Port Peril. He was a charming man, so charming in fact he claimed he once bed a Nymph in a local tavern for a night, And that’s how he got his Son, Lugo. Now, those stories are hardly true, for Lugo is a Human child. While not quite as sturdy of frame, but he is defiantly quick of wit.

When Lugo came of age, his Father left him at the local Wizard school with the Promise " I’ll be back in a year or two to get you, I've got a big job that will be my last one as a deckhand. After that, we'll own our own ship! And with your help, we'll run the waves till the end of our days...”

That was 2 years ago today, and Lugo has not heard from his Father at all. Now that he has graduated from an Apprentice to a full-fledged wizardling, he Went to the Formidably Maid to seek work as a Buccaneer.

While He was there, however, adashing and flirtatious corsair caught his eye, and after a whirlwind night of booze and romance, he found
yourself beaten senseless and stuffed in a sack, carried
off to who knows where.

I definitely would like to participate - I am quite new to Pathfinder (hoping that is not an impediment) but in the loooong years playing d20, I always wanted to play a Duelist.

I am probably planning to start with either a Bard or Light weapon Fighter.

Would you run me by the basic stuff? Should I present a character or a concept - after this you approve them and decide which ones will be part of the game. Am I correct?

Thanks

Yep, toss up an idea and you might get chosen, you posted early so it shouldn't be an issue, and hopefully we can start in a few days.

And if I may suggest, look into the Arcane Duelist Bard Archetype, I play one of those so its got a special place in my heart.

Lookin' like we have a Bard, Fighter and Wizard already =)

Would the swashbuckler from the Tome of Secrets be acceptable?

As this is my first time GMing something like this I really do want to stick to the Paizo Material as I have a better grasp on most of it.

What about starting GP?

Thanks for bringing it up Trup,

Average Gold.

That will work.

Would you allow the Trait... Rich Parents?

Edit: Actually Never mind, I don't want that trait anyhow.

Lantern Lodge

Hmmm... how about a cleric of Besmara or a Magus of somesort. will work out ideas by tomorrow.

I would, actually for this campaign I'd give you a one time +1 to Infamy and Disrepute scores as well assuming your parent is a pirate of some renown not to mention the chance of NPCs treating you differently.

Trax Vorkosigan, blessed of Besmara reporting in.

I am finishing up his backstory now and should have it posted tonight or tommorrow.

Dotting for interest. Who doesn't love Pirates?

Avast, this here game may be a fine port o call.

I am thinking maybe a Gunslinger...

Gunslingers welcome!

Liking what I am seeing so far hopefully we won't have to turn to many people away.

Half orc ranger, got into another skull and shackles game but the dm disappeared and i took over as dm. i would like to be on the player side of things once more. i can post every day, even many times a day.

build is for being the one on the helm i know it wont happen for a while but still it works for the background.

all information is on this profile

Human Lore Warden Incoming

Give me a second, I know I have seen this before

This is DaWay, working on the character, will do build first then background and other fluffy stuff.

Submitting Kilarra.. Aspiring Demon (reflavor of Dragon) Disciple. Created her for an all-tiefling crew a while back and didn't get in. I will double check all the mechanics at home to make sure it's all done to your standards. Let me know if you have questions..

Well the rest of us are waiting... The well dressed noble impatiently drums his fingers with tiny jolts of electricity forming a path between his finger tips and the table.

Count me as interested. I will be submitting an undine inquisitor later this evening.

Traits updated and ready to go.

what version of heirloom weapon are you using? It makes sense with the buccaneers blood and being a blade bound magus.

Okay I am going t have to put a break on recruitment it seems like we have 6 (actually more) right now.

Henk2 - Fighter
Kyran Magus
Eledhur's Lore Warden
Trax Cleric
Lugo Wizard
Ornax Ranger

Now Tanner, Valkur and Kilarra, If anyone can't make it, or goes in active I will message you immediately about jumping in.

The rest of you make sure you post with the alias you want to use and ill add you to the campaign thread. You guys can make small talk or whatever it is you wish to do the first official Campaign post won't start until everyone has had a chance to post a few times. According to the guide you all are drinking at a local tavern. Sounds fun.

The Errata'ed version but I would let you upgrade it to masterwork when the time comes. Fluff wise Maybe it was always masterwork and just in need of some TLC to get the property back!

While striking a few soft cords on his Lute, the road weary Edel looks across the table at Kyran with a hint of a smile.

Come on... you are not going to test me again with this are you? It's abjuration - you know I am good at this Kyran.

No, no, no, my dear friend. I have explained this many times, this He clenches the lightning in his fist as if to make an exclamation pointHis evocation.

I guess you are right, this inaction is just dulling my edge senseless. Remind me again why we are here - did you actually get any further lead on that manuscript we came here looking for?

Discussion and Gameplay threads have been created. have fun!

Wow that was quick!

Gah! I know right? But check your PMs weekly or so if we need an alternate we will hit you guys up first.

Ditto on the quickness. I will keep an eye on my PMs and dot the thread for following.

Henk clumps into the tavern, his harpon slung over his shoulder and a cutlass at his side. Setting his pack down at a table, he waves over a waitress. Some ale please. Got any stew as well?

Dang, I finally had decided on a character to. Well, I'll post my character anyway and should you need a replacement player please let me know.

Has recruitment closed for this? I really want to play this AP. Submitting Ari Mai for approval. I will have to reduce his level of course as he was made for a higher level adventure that I didn't get into.
