Edeldhur, its a standard action

Throwing a rope:

The PCs can try to rescue the overboard NPC by tossing rope to them. To get the rope close enough, a PC must make a ranged touch attack against the character in the water (range increment 10 feet). On the first round, the NPC is 10 feet away. Each succeeding round, the NPC drifts 1d3×10 feet farther away from the ship. If the attack misses, the rope lands too far away to help and must be drawn back and thrown again or a new rope must be thrown (use the rules for splash weapons [Core Rulebook 202] to see where the rope lands). If the attack hits, the NPC in the water gains a bonus on his Swim checks equal to twice the total Strength modifiers of those hauling the rope. Up to three characters can add their Strength modifiers to help in this way. If the NPCs fails the Swim check by 5 or more, he loses his grip on the rope and it must be drawn back and thrown again or a new rope must be thrown.

So for this round its 1d20+dexmod +base attack bonus, but next round they will be into the next increment so it will be a -2, or more if they get far enough.

Elf Wizard

Ok, so I am getting on it as soon as possible - I won't be able to help much regarding her swim checks, only when Henk gets here. But at least she needs to fail by 5 to lose the rope.

Rope throw at Sandara: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Edeldhur takes measure of the distance amidst the storm rain and the waves, and manages to target Sandara - I hope she still has the strength to grab on to it.

Male Human Bladebound Kensai Magus/1 (HP 6/9, AC/F/T 17/10/17, F +3, R +2, W +3, Perception +1, Initiative +2)

Henk throws a rope to Kroop if someone is helping Sandara.

Rope: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Grand Lodge

Male Human Cleric

Trax will help Henk pull Kroop in if the man latches on to the rope.

Elf Wizard

I have thrown the rope at Sandara - was waiting for the results on that as Edeldhur is focused on that task at the moment.

Initiatives:

Henk 5
Edeldhur 9
Ornotck 7
Kilarra Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Kyran Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Trax Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Lugo Init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Sandara and Kroop would delay until everyone else can go if that made any sense.

Round 1:
Kilarra dived head first into the water to save Sandara, but slipped and ended up barely conscious in the ocean needing rescue herself. Kyran dived in after her with a rope and managed to reach her. Edeldhur has tossed a rope to Sandara and she grabbed it. Lugo used his at will feather fall to land safely on the deck of the ship and help with the rope thrown to Sandara.

Henk and Trax both toss a rope to Kroop, he catches it. Ornotck makes it back down to the deck.

Sandara and Kroop both have their ropes and will be attempting to swim back to the ship with the rope.

Round 2

Kilarra
Trax
Kyran
Lugo
Edeldhur
Ornotck
Henk
Sandara
Kroop

Kilarra and Kyran

I need DC20 swim checks (both move actions) from both of you to get closer to the ship or else you will be 1d3x10 feet further out from the storm. (assuming you are both holding onto each other you'll be in the same spot), If the rope you are holding is tied to the ship you can add double your strength modifier to your swim check but if you fail by 5 or more you will loose grip on the rope. If not it would require a standard action to toss one end of the the rope to the ship, its a ranged touch attack to one of the crew members, with a range increment of 20 feet. You are currently with in the first increment.

Anyone using their standard action to help pull on a rope to get people out of the water let me know. Anyone doing that now, I will assume is still doing so unless told otherwise.

Male Half orc ranger 1 hp 12/12 ac12, touch 12, ff 10, fort 6, ref 5 ,will 4 ,init 2, perc 7

move action to get to a rope, standard action to pull on a rope,

Come on put your backs into it, we need to have them on this ship now!!

Which rope Ornotck? We got three of 'em now!

M Human Fighter 1 HP 10/12 F5R2W1 Init+2 AC: 16 FF: 14 Touch: 12

Henk pulls on the rope Kroop has a hold of.

Henk, Ornotck and Trax all grab the rope Kroop has and begin to heave.

Kroop tries to swim back to the ship with the rope.

Swim:

swim check: 1d20 + 5 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 8 = 21
swim check: 1d20 + 5 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 8 = 30

With some mighty strong swimming and pulling Kroop reaches the side of the ship, He will begin to climb on board the deck next round.

Round 2

Edeldhur pulls on Sandara's rope alone. She tries to make it back to the ship. Sandara stuggles against the rope but doesn't make it any closer to the ship, but she also does not let go or move any farther.

Sandara's Swimming:

swim: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
swim: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Kilarra <- in the water
Trax <- helping Kroop to the ship
Kyran <- in the water
Lugo <- is enlisting the aid of friendly NPCs (I am controlling him until his player is back)
Edeldhur <- tossing the rope to Sandara
Ornotck <- helping kroop to the ship
Henk <- helping Kroop to the ship
Sandara <- has a rope
Kroop <- at the ship

(Just need Kilarra and Kyran's actions)

M Human Fighter 1 HP 10/12 F5R2W1 Init+2 AC: 16 FF: 14 Touch: 12

Next round Henk will go over to Edeldhur and help him pull in Sandara.

Edeldhur had tied the rope Kyran brought in with him, hooray!

Next round:
Swim: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

"Bloody rope! Somebody get me outta the drink!" Kilarras grip loosens just enough for the rope to escape her rands, fatigue taking a great toll on her.

Male Human Bladebound Kensai Magus/1 (HP 6/9, AC/F/T 17/10/17, F +3, R +2, W +3, Perception +1, Initiative +2)

1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 2 = 15 swim

Come on, Kil. It's not time to brave the depths of Dagon yet. Now put some effort. Kyran strains but manages to hold onto the rope and his shipmate all the same.

Round 3

Kilarra slips off the rope and is drug 1d3 ⇒ 2 20 feet out. by the current. (she's now 20 feet from the ship and Kyran)

In this round

Kilarra <- being swept out to sea
Trax <- helping Kroop to the ship
Kyran <- in the water
Lugo <- returned with help
Edeldhur <- Helping Sandara
Ornotck <- helping kroop to the ship
Henk <- helping Kroop to the ship
Sandara <- at the ship
Kroop <- climbing up the ship.

Trax, Ornotck and Henk can either spend this round helping Kroop back into the ship, or abandon him to help the others. If you all help him he'll be up automatically at the end of this turn if not he'll be making climb checks.

Any rope thrown to Kilarra will take -2 on the touch attack due to her distance.

Lugo returns with Owlbear and Rosie Cusswell. The Large mount of a man and the stout halfling girl grab the rope Edeldhur has and all pull with great strength.

Sandara's swimming:

swimming: 1d20 + 6 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 12 = 20
swimming: 1d20 + 6 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 12 = 27

With a mighty tug and expert swimming the red headed cleric begins to advance towards the ship. Safely reaching the side of the ship she starts to climb up the side. (She'll be climbing next turn)

Kyran you are at the ship now, you can either start making climb checks to get up the ship, or swim checks to go back for Kilarra.

Male Half orc ranger 1 hp 12/12 ac12, touch 12, ff 10, fort 6, ref 5 ,will 4 ,init 2, perc 7

rope throw: 1d20 ⇒ 17 for rope thrown to our green gal next round.

Elf Wizard

Seeing Sandara now much safer, Edeldhur will attempt to get a rope to Kilarra. I am sorry guys but I cannot understand if Kilarra already has a rope or not

If she does I'll assist with the pulling

If not, I am throwing her a rope and screaming:

NONONO!! I need my favourite biter back on ship, C'mon you puny excuse for a woman, get back on this ship so I can make you my wench! MOVE!! - That should get her blood running :D

Rope Throw: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Kilarra lost the rope she had and was dragged 20 feet out to sea. But even with the range penalty you will successfully get her another rope

Edeldhur's dangerous words will manage to grant Kilarra a +1 circumstance bonus on her checks this round =)

Elf Wizard

What do you mean dangerous? Kilarra would never hurt me... again... :D

methinks the wizard is even going 'wow, hes playing with fire for sure.'

Round 4.

Kilarra Just about looses the rope but the strength of everyone pulling manages to get her up to the edge of the ship.

Over the next round everyone manages to get back up to the ship, though just barely.

Experience:

XP 600 for surviving the storm
600 Xp for rescuing Sandara,
600 XP for rescuing Ambrose
200 Xp for rescuing Kilarra

And lets see, another 200 for rescuing Kyran!

And I forgot to give you guys XP for Owlbear, another 400.

So 2600 Xp, so 520 each!

Good work guys, Thank you for your patience. I need to go back and make sure the relationships are all up to date, feel free to use this time to RP or what have you, but your work night is just about over on the ship.

Storming back towards the rest of the group, she gives her steely gaze at each and every one of the men. Ye have my thanks, and that's all ye'll be hearin' about it. Next one of ye to give me any lip can take my place in the drink."

Gotta love that - Edeldhur adds with a wide smile.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Cleric

"Oh how lovely..." Trax moves up and only smiles, holding back the flippant comment on his tounge. "Glad to see you safe Kilarra."

Glad to have you back Greenie, for the Daughter of Dagon, you sure swim like a rock.. Lugo gives a playful Grin

Sandara can be seen talking to Fishguts, she is soaked to the bone, angry, upset and scared. She smacks him, pulling her soaking hair out of her eyes and approaches the group. "Thank you... Thank you all so much." She says in a surprisingly soft tone.

She bows and hugs each of you before looking at Kilarra. {b]"That was the stupidest thing I have ever seen. But so incredibly sweet."[/b] She takes off her hat, which strangely has stayed on her head this whole time and she places it onto Kilarra.

"Take it... for two reasons... one it is a thank you gift... and two I think you need it." She says with a sly smile before turning to Kyran.

"You... You jumped in after a friend too. Also incredibly stupid. And incredibly sweet, I don't have a hat for you but I have this." She leans in and gives him a soft kiss on the lips. You can taste saltwater on her body, She pulls away slowly blushing.

"I need to go change, thank you all again, I owe you all my life."

Fishguts sulks in the corner by himself, soaking wet the cold sea having sobered him up. He slowly shambles up to the group, but won't look Sandara in the eye. "I's sorry fer whats I done." He says nothing more and then slowly sulks off.

Conchobhar steps forward, patting Kyran on the back and looking back at him, "Well if all I had to do was jump in the ocean in the storm to get the girl I would of done it a long time ago." He grins at looks over at Rosie who is reluctantly smiling at the situation and at him.

"No chance you want to go for a swim heh Rosie?" He adds, her still smiling. She seems to catch her self and smacks him in the back of the head.

"I am glad you are all safe." she adds before smiling, "But I am going to get back to work."

Female Demon-Spawn Tiefling Barbarian 1 / HP: 14 / AC,T,FF: 15, 12, 13 / F+4, R+2, W-1 / Perception +5 / Init +2

Drenched and embarassed, Kilarra quietly accepts the hat being placed on her head. "Strength and guts are all I got in this world, plus a little lady's charm. Thanks, Sandarra."

Is it magical, how has it stayed on her head through all that?!

it is! I forgot to post the stat block for it!

Besmara’s Tricorne:

Aura faint transmutation; CL 5th

Slot head; Weight 1 lb.

DESCRIPTION

This black leather tricorne hat is weather-beaten and salt- stained. It grants its wearer a +2 competence bonus on Profession (sailor) and Swim checks.

If Besmara is your patron, once per day you can speak a command word to transform the hat into a small ship’s boat such as a cutter, jolly boat, or longboat (see the Skull & Shackles Player’s Guide). The boat is 20 feet long, has two pairs of oars and a single mast with a square sail, and can carry up to 12 passengers and crew. Upon command, or after 8 hours, the boat returns to hat form, dumping out any occupants.

Who knows, maybe Kilarra will give up her demon worshiping ways!

Sandara would lean in and tell you the command word, but add "But only if you keep Besmara."

With that blessing of her soft lips on his Kyran taps his lips in a gesture aimed playfully at his shipmates (Henk) and makes a dramatic turn on a heel with the other leg acting as a pendulum to turn himself around and begins to ascend the rigging again and get back to safety.

As he is climbing up, he calls to Sandara If you need some dry clothes I do have a spare set in my stuff you are welcome too. At least it will be dry. And with that he is gone again.
