I think it'd just be counting on the PCs not really making a big deal of it until it's pointed out to them. Otherwise, it's not really that big a deal if you notice beforehand.

oh man that does stink, ive been there literally about a decade ago. was on a first date too, nothing says romance like ending up in the emergency room for whiplash and more eh? and no... it didnt ruin everything heck it lasted almost 2 years before she decided that she wanted to travel as a stewardess and that having a boyfriend for that was lame.
That sucks.
Today was the munchkin's pediatrician's appt (all good, his car seat absorbed everything), my wife and I getting xrays and in her case a CT scan, taking the car in for repairs (3 weeks), getting a rental, more dealing with insurance....fun fun fun.

Just to let you guys know, if my posting rate is slower than usual then it's because I'm up in Cairns for a few days holiday. That and the hotel's wifi is pretty limited (only 24 hours spread out across the whole stay and just 1GB of data - using my phone as a hotspot to use the mobile network instead).
Good points - visited the Australian Armour & Artillery Museum today. Impressive collection, first time seeing a Kangaroo APC (despite the name, it's a Canadian design from WW2; basically just an M3 Stuart or M4 Sherman quickly turned into a troop carrier (in the latter case, that just meant ripping the turret off and having everyone sit in the now-empty space)). And they had a prop Tiger 1 replica that had been used when filming Fury - presumably to cut down on how many shots they'd need to fire up Tiger 131 for (131 was the first Tiger captured by the Allies and the only working Tiger 1 in the world). So you could think of the replica as being Tiger 131's stunt double. :P
The museum also has a small firing range downstairs where you can try some of the rifles they have. I mention this as a surprising addition because (for those not aware) firearms are heavily restricted here in Aus so anywhere where the public can use them is worth noting.
Bad points - a seafood restaurant near the hotel (which, I hasten to add, was great in every other respect) has to serve the spiciest oysters kilpatrick I have ever experienced in my life! They used that much Worcestershire sauce in them (which is normally diluted with tomato sauce) that it felt like my tongue was on fire!
And I'll probably have a big rifle-butt-shaped bruise on my shoulder tomorrow - who knew 7.92mm rounds (the calibre the Germans used in their Kar98 rifles) packed that much of a kick?

I knew they packed that much of a kick but im a silly former army ranger american :) That being said, sounds awesome. Not getting to visit Australia was my one regret of my time in service, me and some friends were going to go twice, and world events kept us out both times . . .

I don't know if it was Worcestershire sauce or not, but the recipe for oysters kilpatrick involves it being mixed with tomato sauce. This place didn't do that so it was the spicy sauce used on its own and filling the oyster shells to near-overflowing.
That and my tolerance for spicy stuff isn't spectacular. Either way, I have never had oysters kilpatrick that were that bloody spicy.

I was just caught off guard because all of the Worcestershire sauces I've tried have neither been spicy nor contained tomatoes.
Well they don't contain tomatoes, it's just that you mix it with some tomato sauce when making oysters kilpatrick.
Not sure why they haven't been spicy to you, but it's always been a little hot whenever I've tried it. This felt like they'd used a particularly strong brand of the stuff, too.
Ah, gotcha.
Don't know about spicy, but they've always had a strong flavor, but not spicy to me.

So; visited Green Island today. Lovely place, great look at the Great Barrier Reef.
Although it turns out that I'm not as compatible with boats as I previously believed. Didn't throw up, thankfully, but the boat ride back to Cairns was not fun.

im sorry to hear that, the motion sickness i developed post army with my hearing loss is not something i enjoy... I miss rollercoasters *le sigh*
Well that last trip back could've been worse if I hadn't decided to go out onto the fore deck for the last half-hour of it. My lips are probably gonna be chapped to hell and back tomorrow from the wind, but I think that much fresh air, the wind cooling me down, and having a horizon to focus on helped more than anything else.
Green Island's definitely worth a look if you ever have a chance to go to Cairns, though. I wasn't there long enough to properly enjoy it (even discounting the motion sickness) but what I did see was great.
My ladyfriend was diagnosed with cancer in her lady parts friday...and they are still waiting the results for her stomach, intestines and other lower parts.
Goodnews is, if... its just confined to the ladypart region, outlook is good, if its in the other stuff.. well not so good. But she is strong and im a hopeful optimist so . . .I will still be about and continue on, but if you dont hear from me for a few days, please just message me and remind me. Sort of brain addled at the moment and distracted
