Eli endures a churning stomach, using his hammer to steady himself as he begins to dry heave. Seeing Serra appear from the fog, he looks past him, hoping to see others retreating as well. "Boof...Mmm.." At least the demons haven't closed distance, now that I'm unable to do anything defensively... Eli considers retreating further from the door, but the roil in his gut distracts him.

The dretches that bookend Beagan try to rip and shred the little gnome right off his mount, but in the end, they get in each other's way, leaving the gnome unscathed. The one in back tries to get in to the action, but can't get past the little guy and so remains frustratingly trapped in the other room.

At first Began is upset when Serra retreats, but then gratified to see him head up to team with Eli.
As the six demon strikes reign over him, only half come close enough to bounce off armor or shield, and none penetrate, and the last demon is unable to force his way through. Despite his stomach, the Gnome grins widely. This is where he is meant to be. This is where the Big R' wants him. In between Demonic Evil and those that need protection.
"Ah ha! Now I've got you where I want you!" He can barely finish before he loses his cookies over his mount.
A disgusted Xanthos withdraws the pair, slinking away from the flanked position and then moving away from the demon in the center of the room until he's blocking the door to the north. Withdraw and provoking an AoO from the center foe.

As the whip cracks, a wave of demonic power ripples through the unsteady mount. With terror in his eyes, the bunny's paws unsteadily step back, one and then the other. All his muscles tense, ready to spring...

The demon's bite clangs off of Beagan's shield and the Gnome squeezes Xanthos in agony, his own empty tummy seizing him just as hard. He sucks it up for a minute, trying to return the twinkle to his eyes.
"Pretty! Wow, you guys are the bestest demons in the world! Just a little tummy ache and then such pretty colors!"

As the unsteady mount tries to buck and weave to avoid the Demon's attack, Beagan hangs on for dear life, his impish face now blue and contorted into grotesque moan.

The roiling in Xanthos' stomach is too much, and the next wave of Demonic power snaps through him hard. With a whimper, the mount turns and stumbles down the corridor, whining in terror wracked with stomach spasms as he crawls away.

Beagan tries to dismount to hold the line at the door, but seems to fall out of the saddle-back and onto the ground. Amazingly he might land on legs that don't seem to quite collapse underneath him, although his grip on his sword is not so sure.
Xanthos is withdrawing/running/stubmling down the hall in fear. Beagan is trying to dismount in the doorway to continue to block the entrance.

Xanthos panics, dropping Beagan by the door as he goes to cower in the corner. Beagan manages to land right, land with his sword in his hand. Meanwhile, in the other room, Grasker swings on the dretch that chose to join him and Cole, dropping him. Cole steps back, and his stomach finally back under control, takes a couple of shots into the fog, one of which draws an ugly curse from someone within the nasty mist. The second, though, thunks thickly into something, but it doesn't respond.
Once again, dretch two tries to get through the door, biting at poor sick Beagan.

Serra finds the following on the bomberboy cultist:
Six potions, a magical set of leather armor, a magical ring of protection. On the other cultists, he finds three scrolls, two potions, MWK armor and weapons per cultist, and vials of unholy water.
In the room where the dretches came from(P6), stands a smashed sideboard along one wall and a stone staircase leads upstairs.

The Dretches' final assault bite into the Gnome's staggering, nauseated form, drawing even more blood from his battered form. (hp 6/37)
As the final demons fall, Beagan stumbles out of the cloud and falls over, writhing and wretching for a minute and the cleaner air refills his system.
He feels the wounds from the demon bites and claws and as gratified that they aren't worse, that he was able to remain standing, such as it was, that they didn't toy with him and drop/raise/drop him like their kind is wont to do.
Looking around at his companions, a little concern worms through him. If this is how the men respond to a demon's simply poisonous vapors, what effect will a demon's true vileness have? If we cannot stand up to bad air, their horrific acts that pollute one's sight, poison one's mind, and are toxic to the soul will do so much worse to our countenance.
Beagan will retrieve one of the new positions of Cure Moderate Wounds and take a tap from the wand.

"The garrison holds secrets," Grasker, says, pointing out the hidden door in the room with statues.
"Before we proceed, we should make sure this ground floor desecration hold no harm."
Grasker will shove the mass of limbs off the alter with his old sword, and give them a hack to break apart the mass, lest it animate and attack.
He will also inspect the brackets by the shrine and after detecting magic and taking 10 to check for traps, Grasker will set Radiance into the brackets to see if anything magical occurs. Afterwards he will take up the blessed sword again.
"I suggest we check that secret door, perhaps the demons never found it."

If people agree he will open up the door, ready for combat.

As the companions recover, Grasker returns to the befouled shrine with Serra and Beagan returning with him. Radiance fits perfectly into the brackets, as if they were made specifically for the beautiful sword.

Cole too passes on the gear, though he lingers a bit over the ring. "Very nice. Someone should definitely use this."
Beagan, instead of wand charges, please use the potions we just found. We've a lot of potions... So Grasker, skip Beagan's wand usage, and I'll take 'em off the treasure sheet.
Cole too backs up Grasker as he moves to the door.

Can't..." the boy continues, though, rather than leave the horrific things that have been written about Iomedae, Aroden, and her sword up on the wall for any and all to read.He's not quite certain he understands what it says, exactly, but he knows it is beyond foul, and not to be tolerated by a good knight.

Serra notes his squires dedication to the holy and just by his actions.
The lad is right...the lad is always right.
"Come now, Kastor...let me help you with that," Serra says, waddling over to the shrine to help his squire. Serra watches his squire work, cleaning the altar.
"Say...I remember...Mom...uh huh..."

Serra casts Unseen Servant. Should last 4 hours and can "clean and mend".
"Servant, please help my squire clean this altar and room...mend it and make it nice. All the graffiti off the walls...and fix what you can," Serra commands to an unseen worker.
Serra will begin to help as well, casting Prestidigitation as needed in tough or badly be-grimed areas.

Serra's unseen servant gets to work, cleaning the graffiti from the walls and slowly putting the shrine back in order. Part of the overwhelming despair that seemed to cling to the place seems to lift and even the air seems cleaner. Serra's prestidigitation is called upon in many areas, as the Abrikandilu demons took immense pleasure in gouging and defiling the place.
With Radiance in the brackets and the stylized sun behind it, the room takes on a bit of its former glory.

"Poor men. To give your life for a worthy cause is the so knightly, but it seems unkind to leave you here like this."
Unfortunately, they are too heavy for him to move. Saddened by his failure to pull tem into the shrine, he does the second best thing he can think of, he kneels in front of the prayers of Iomedae and the newly mounted Radiance and says a prayer for their souls.

Beagan points out what he sees on the wall behind the sword. Realizing the others can't see it from their overgrown height, he tugs Grasker down so the swordsman has to kneel in front of the shrine to be at the Gnome's level, and points to the glowing runes.
"Look! A message from the Lady!"
He repeats the words in the common human tongue.
"Let us inherit thine arms, Iomedae."
Beagan will call on Calistria's trickery (Prestidigitation) to help Serra restore the shrine. Something useful and good from the Savory Sting! This is a nice use of the Unquenchable Fire's vengeance - purifying the evil detritus left behind by these demons.

Serra looks up from his cleaning to see of what the gnome speaks. Finding nothing, he can only assume that the gnome is seeing things that aren't there.
Poor gnome is seeing things that aren't there. Crazy.
"I don't see what you mean, Beagan...are you sure it says that?"
