Ok, the purchases have a 20% discount when Opoli and Dale learn the group is pursuing the traitors. There is horrible ill-will against those "traitors" who slew key community members.

This allows for two changes, which I'll assume are ok. I've added a second antitoxin, as it seemed like Eli was interested in investigating the concoction further. Also, if Beagan sells the darkmantle cloak he harvested (25gp) to buy a short bow for himself, the total available for the party is 380 gp. Current "liberated items" tracking sheet

Cole goes along with this robbery by the so-called knights in the interests of equipping the unprepared, but he does not like it. Knights taking what they want and redistributing it at their whims. Yeah, those are the sorts of knights Cole is used to dealing with all right.

Beagan's scale actually casts the Levitate spell, which raises/lowers a maximum of 20' a round.

The first time I used it, I remembered the "Levitate" part correctly but I forgot the cool, "cloudwalking" flavor text. The scale creates a 5' diameter billowy cloud to raise/lower the creature. The cloud gives concealment (20% miss) to the levitated individual, but that effect also might be a pretty obvious beacon to anyone seeing it. I'll get some clarification from GM AA.

Ok, GM said cloudwalking scale can be used to lower creatures through the hole. This is what Beagan would try to do (assuming he doesn't get interrupted in the middle of it).

Levitate = standard action to cast, move action for caster to raise/lower creature 20'. (Can't move a single levitating creature more than 20' in a round.)

Total distance to ground: ~35'.
First 20' or so are out of sight of the guards, last 15' are visible.

Began will be on Xanthos' back. He'll recast Mage Armor on Xanthos if it's been more than 1 hour since the initial approach to the barricade.

Round A) Beagan casts Levitate on Grasker, moves him down 20'.
Round B) Beagan casts Levitate on Xanthos, moves him down 15'.
Round C) Beagan casts Levitate on Cole, moves him down 10'

Round D) Beagan moves Grasker and Xanthos to ground.
- Possible surprise round?
- Grasker and Xanthos/Beagan now may be visible to guards.
- Grasker could act.
- Xanthos could act or ready (Beagan needs stay within sight of Cole to move him next round).

Round E)
- Probably be in combat at this point.
- Beagan moves Cole down 20' (still might be 5' off the ground?)
- Beagan has a standard (might dismiss spell if Cole still above ground).
- Cole could act (attacks at a -1 if not on ground)
- Grasker and Xanthos can act.

Sorry if this is rather mechanical or meta-gamey, but I wanted to get an idea how the levitate movement would get three people down a single, man-sized hole. I can check with AA and make a character post if this makes sense.

A shame we don't have a tiefling that could levitate down in a billowing cloud, laughing and bluffing the guards into dropping their weapons and falling prostrate.

In all other steps here, your fastidiousness only endears you to us, as the gnome would obviously obsess about the battle plans as do you :)

My turn to apologize about the scale. Apparently there are variances of opinion on whether or not it affects your movement while you are on the ground. We'll go with the one most advantageous to the PCs, that it doesn't, and continue forward. So Grasker hit with his sword instead of an arrow. Back to trying to kill you now. ;)

Can disregard that first round action from Grasker while waiting on dispel.

No, with the decision in place, you would still be under the effects of the spell, but able to move on the ground and attack. At least for now. I don't want to go backwards and red-skinned mongrel is bleeding out with new people waiting to play.

Ever onward, we can readdress when you're out of combat if people want.

Just FYI, I Xanthos' attacks are natural weapons so unfortunately I don't think Align Weapon works on him. (Alas, I believe Align Fang is only a D&D spell, not a Pathfinder spell.)

At higher levels, there are some abilities may align his attacks, that concentrate damage to boost it past DR, and possibly a magic item (+1 Demon Bane Amulet of Mighty Fists) that might work well. Until is able to pick up some of those, when the DR is too high Xanthos may instead concentrate on aiding and/or shielding.
