Thanks Cup. Just as a sidenote of something I recently learned. If you are using UMD on a wand that you have previously used you get +2 bonus to your roll.

The samurai now twice his normal size looks at the gathered air elementals and then sees the invisible stalker standing front of him and the Barbarian. He bows head towards the invisible stalker. "Whatever you may feel. This ends here and now." His katana slides effortlessly out of the sheath and cuts three times at the invisible stalker.

Both elementals and the mercenary leader are coated in a thick swath of ice. Gallix swings hard with his metal fists, and as the elemental stops spinning and drifts down into the clouds, he adds another win to his official Red Arm of Absalom Kill Sheet.

Efwurwa evades Uesugi's katana twice, but Uesugi swings underhand with his final attack to take Efwurwa by surprise. "I thought we'd fought before, but you are much more worthy foes than those that attacked us in Port Eclipse!"

The two elementals hovering next to the Williwaw are still too nauseated to do anything but limply fly along the clouds.

That gas cloud spell, very powerful! My options are endless now, this fight will be over soon.

Mr Peppers survey's the scene, his thin lips almost cracking a smile, almost. "Finish them off before they're able to rally themselves." He flicks a pinch of glitter at Efwurwa and his nearest ally, hoping like Hell the wind doesn't get that stuff in his hair.

Efwurwa is covered in a dark aura when Sirettis applies a curse, and Uesugi and Mr. Peppers combine their attacks to bring the invisible stalker to her knees.

D destroys another air elemental, leaving a single one to fend for itself. It shouts above the whirr of the airship engine.

"How about I float off into the clouds and we pretend this never happened?"

Combat potentially over if you let it flee, otherwise it can't do much on its turn anyway. It is at your mercy.

With the mercenaries finally dispatched, Captain Beysal emerges from the hold along with several of her crew. "That should make for a much smoother trip there. I, for one, did not like working with that group, but I only do as I'm paid to. Now then, let's continue our trip."

The journey to Purest Air takes four days. The crew spends most of the time conducting routine ship maintenance, adjusting the rigging and rudder to navigate the air streams.

Spells, abilities, etc. reset

Captain Beysal looks out towards the clouds. "When we reach the tower, we’ll be docking at the roof. That’s the only entrance—solid clouds, hard as stone, seal off any others. Even if there were more, I’ll not risk the Williwaw by approaching off course. That tower has siege weapons! Once we dock, you’re on your own. My crew and I aren’t even allowed to set foot off the ship; one of Grasping Storm’s charming ways of establishing dominance over flesh-and-blood beings. You might be able to talk your way past the guards, but that’s not my concern. If a fight breaks out, we won’t be assisting, though."

Within a few hours of arriving at Purest Air, a lookout points out a distant flying cloud dragon. "There it is! That's one of Grasping Storm's perimeter scouts!"

The Williwaw sails by the dragon, who juts its maw out at the ship with interest, and then flies off. It's a good thing the airship is expected, even if some of the passengers are not.

A short time later, the Williwaw changes course, heading directly for the only cloud in sight.

The cloud on the horizon grows larger, its details resolving to the naked eye as the Williwaw draws closer. It resembles a pearly gray anvil a thousand feet across. Despite the surrounding blue skies, lightning flickers within. The top of the cloud is perfectly flat. A lustrous tower soars hundreds of feet above the cloud’s surface. Thick layers of wispy vapor curl around the tower like shifting, smoky ivy. The cylindrical tower gradually becomes rectangular at the peak.

The tower guards wave the Williwaw into the sky dock, and the ship dives to connect, turning off its forward engines as it does. Two aeronauts extend a bridge across, and a large, one-eyed demon approaches.

It speaks in a raspy voice. "Beysal. You're a little late. Did the air currents give you trouble?" It jokes. "Go on, send the mercenaries down. Grasping Storm is expecting them." He stares at the deck with his single eye narrowed. "Strange. We were expecting elementals. Are these people really Grasping Storm's newest servants? I only see one sylph. They ought to show me their command over air if they're to properly serve in this tower."

So...this could be trouble. Are we just going to try to bluff our way past, or perhaps attempt something more direct. If needed, I have my spells from the Ranginori's Debt boon from Cosmic Captive still available. That might be enough for us to slip by here without a fight.

Sirettis spends the next few days preparing herself. At one point she asks Uesugi about his calligraphy, and tries to pick up a few tips from it.

She thanks the Captain and her crew for their assistance. "At least you don't have to deal with them anymore. You've done more than enough to aid us."

The morning they dock, Sirettis transforms into another kind of Sylph (she really enjoys doing this) and approaches the monster. What kind of creature is it? Can it discern lies well? Does it see through her disguise?

Witches do not get the veil spell, which would be perfect for this occasion. Nor do they get Disguise Other...

"In one way or another, we possess the powers of flight." Sirettis calls upon her flight hex and flies around a bit. "They have brought the gear necessary, or I have the power to aid one of them directly in flight. Is that more than sufficient?"

I have 1 single casting of the Fly spell. Show off your ability to fly, hover, levitate or cause lots of wind. I'd rather not fight this guy on the deck.

Before they disembark the ship, and out of sight of the guardian, Mr Peppers gathers everyone to protect them verses electricity "A place such as this is sure to have lots of extra energy floating around... something that may not bother those who live here, but certainly would us." Using Mass Prot Energy Lightning, 96 absorption for the next 10 minutes, in case things get hairy quickly.

Mr Peppers heads to the deck with the others, also trying to see what exactly that winged demon looking fellow is. K Planes, +2 more vs Demons: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

"As our Slyph leader has stated, we all have the ability in some form to fly, or command the air as you'd say. I am Mr Peppers, pleased to make your acquaintance." He half bows, the wind whipping his fabulous cloak around him. Auto Aid Diplomacy.

If actually flying is required Mr Peppers can cast it 5x total today. His take 10 fly check is 21 + the fly spell bonus

Good dice.

The demon watches Sirettis flip through the sky with ease, but keeps half of his one eye on the rest of you. Somehow. "So you can all fly, you say." He folds his arms together and towers above Cup as he stares down at her. "Your boots don't fool me, but I suppose even a lowly gnome can make a proper servant with the right attitude." He gets down close to her face as if to look for something on it. His breath is revolting.

He pauses a few moments for effect. Then, without a word, he gets up and turns away. "Fine. You will have to do. I will send word that the expected servants have arrived. Do you have any questions?"

Captain Beysal pantomimes a massive sigh of relief when he's not looking.

Sir D notices four grey-scaled dragons circling the tower, pausing only to watch the demon interact with you. Cup and Mr. Peppers recognize the demon as a hala demon, otherwise known as storm demons. They're able to call down vicious hailstorms at will. Given your rolls, I can provide further details if you want specific ones.

Captain Beysal orders her crew to flip the engines on. "If that's all, I'll be on my way back to Port Eclipse!" She calls. "Unless, of course, you'd rather I stay."

Mr. Peppers know that these demons have light resistance to acid, cold, and fire, as well as spell resistance 15.

Special Defense, Vengeful Wind:
Anytime a hala takes damage from a critical hit, a powerful blast of wind explodes forth in the direction of the attacker. This blast takes the form of a 60-foot-long gale, treated as a gust of wind spell, directed from the hala toward the opponent that scored the critical hit against it (if that creature is more than 60 feet away, the wind is aimed in its direction but doesn’t come close enough to affect it). This wind is also charged with electricity. Any creature in or that enters the area of effect must make a DC 14 Reflex save or take 3d6 points of electricity damage. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Special Attack, Hailstorm:

A hala can call down hailstones from surrounding clouds once every 1d4 rounds as a standard action. These hailstones deal 1d6 points of bludgeoning damage and 1d6 points of cold damage to all creatures within a 20-foot radius that have no overhead cover. A DC 14 Reflex save halves this damage. The save DC is Constitution-based. To use this ability, the hala must be outside and there must be clouds in the sky.

The demon begins walking forward as he responds to Sirettis and Gallix. "Grasping Storm is organizing forces to prevent those pesky Pathfinder Society agents - and the Concordance of Elements - from cracking open the Untouchable Opal." The massive demon turns to you, its eye looming down at Gallix. "You are to serve Grasping Storm in this endeavor with determined force."

"If you're capable, that is." It spreads its lips to reveal line upon line of jagged teeth. "You will be undertaking several trials here to demonstrate your capabilities before you meet Grasping Storm."

As you move into the tower, you're able to appreciate its strange, planar construction. Two magically solid clouds surround the tower, and Mr. Peppers identifies them as similar to the solid fog and wall of force spells. The cloud underneath the tower is solid enough to be walked on.

Here's a map to give you a bird's eye view of what you're in.

In the center of this floor, the demon stops. "That's the windlass to gain access further in. Given your control of air, you should have no issue activating it."

"Powerful magic, look at these clouds." He drags himself away, knowing full well the magic buffs they have going don't last forever.

Gallix scoffs at the demon, "Please, even if we didn't have control of the winds, we'd still easily be able to crank this little guy up!" He moves toward the windlass and makes a show of stretching and cracking knuckles, then lays his large hands on the handle and begins cranking.

The windlass easily gives under Gallix's raw power, and the cloudwall floor sinks down into the tower, forming a staircase. The cloudy stairs descend twenty feet, leading onto a northfacing hallway. Numerous oak doors open off the stone corridor, which are rather mundane compared to a billowing cloud surface occupying twenty feet of one of the walls. One end of the hall terminates in a fifteen-foot-square shaft, blocked by an iron portcullis.

The demon urges you ahead, and once below, the cloud staircase glides back to its original staircase, and the cloudwall seals above. The demon telepathically speaks to you.

"Grasping Storm wishes to know what sort of warriors it is purchasing, and I have arranged a test before you can earn an audience."

The demonic voice fades, and the only choice you'll have to make now is which door to approach first...

Who hid Sirettis' normal form on the map? That cracked me up.

The double doors to the south swing open to a pile of scavenged beds and pillows. The room appears to be the resting quarters of some of the tower's guards, though it's currently empty.

Ahead, the portcullis blocks off the way to an open pit with a metal cage resting at the bottom. It looks like an elevator shaft, and the bars could be bent open with enough force.

As you pass by the billowing surface to your east, a ten-foot wide black cloud slides through the wall. It hovers in place near the 20-feet ceiling, a low hiss escaping from the angry cloud's form...

SUPER BOT INITIATING!

Gallix for once has a twinge of mortality set in and decides to come get closer to the group, for their sake of course "I best keep you all in arm's reach, just in case there's an explosion on this side of room..." He quickly runs over then takes up a defensive stance. Full Defense, 29 AC I THINK

The short and busy-body GNOME stands on her tippy toes trying to get a good look at the creature when Mr Peppers puts his thumb on her forehead to hold her down "Its just a ball of gas right now, just start singing and hastifying everyone." She gives him a dirty look for a mere moment before smiling as he touches her forehead. I think that's the first time he's actually touched me before!

She breaks into a romantic love song after casting haste on the group. "What's Love got to do with it, got to do with it! La la la..."

HASTE on EVERYONE! And Inspire Courage, +2 attack, damage, saves vs fear.

"Alright! So this is the challenge the boss has for us? No problem!" Gallix, snapping out of his defensive stance into a more mobile one, rolls along the edge of the wall, then springs back up with his fists raised. With Cup's encouraging song of love ringing in his ears, and her magic increasing his speed more than even his mutagens can, he lets a barrage of fists fly at the unusual cloud-monkey-tiger-snake.
