BTW: Uesugi, how excited are you for iterative attacks?! I'm super pumped (especially since I didn't get much else at this level). That means with Flurry I'll be up to three attacks per round!
Also, question for you all of you, I'm trying to decide how to spend my money. I really like the sounds of that Elixir of Solar Vigor, especially if we're potentially facing elemental opponents who might deal fire damage in the upcoming special, but I also really want to pick up some feather step slippers to help make sure I can keep using my style feats with 5ft steps in difficult terrain. I could get both but that would take me down to 1gp, and Gallix is definitely not in favor of being that poor again.
Any ideas?
Sirettis |
As a melee character, I encourage you get the feather step slippers so you can deal with difficult terrain and close into range sooner. You'll also break up the difficulty of a lot of encounters that way.
The Solar Vigor requires you to know you're fighting fire opponents in advance. Much more situational, IMO.
Cup |
We have three potential routes for the special and it'll be obvious when we reach that point what exactly those routes are like. Cup wants Water or Fire (or Water AND Fire if we book.)
Hmm

I wonder how many of my signed up players for Cosmic Captive are keeping tabs with Flaxseed.
Thusfar only one has reported in.
Aaaannnnnyway.....
I re-read foe throw.
The concept of throwing people against people is awesome, but the attack becomes futile if they (the one to toss around) pass a fort roll.
There are a few other nifty things i'd consider.
* Kinetic invisibility.
* Kinetic Healer (more useful as an emergency thing, however)
* Touchsight (see a target i damaged at whateve distance he ran off to)
This leads to a further later on, that prevents me from denied dex to AC in a surprise round.
GM Hmm |
PM them, Chyro. Get them to sign up.
Hmm
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne |
Hmm...I think I might go with the slippers. I suppose I could get the Elixir later.
Mr. Peppers |
Reading over the elixir, or when I did, I thought it was overpriced for its duration. The slippers sound much better. Difficult terrain can really ruin melee especially vs someone with good ranged attacks.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne |
That's true. Yeah. Definitely going with the slippers then. Thanks for the thoughts, folks!

Good morning everyone! It is officially tshirt and shorts season in Boston, with a high of 95F today. I'm drinking a veggie smoothie and programming away. I hope you're in as good as me.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne |
Meanwhile in Denver, we have a few inches of snow on the ground. FML
Uesugi Hideyoshi |
WTF Denver has snow!!!!!! Man. Hot today in Toronto then temp will drop tomorrow. But I think summer is stretching out her long lovely legs. Finally!
Mr. Peppers |
Hot as hell here too, but only 90. What am I saying... it might hit 90 here a handful of a times a year, which is definitely 5 times too many. Spent the day on the water working and getting sunburnt. Things go back down to reasonable tomorrow thankfully.
Enjoy that snow Gallix :) Black flies are now out here, ugh.
Cup: No fair you've got insider info! I want whichever direction lets me blast things with fireballs! Or maybe whatever route keeps me alive for the duration. I thought about taking mass resist elements too, guess that's still a possibility, certainly not very sexy like fireball.
Mr. Peppers |
Happy Friday! Man sure was nice to sleep with open windows and get up to 60 degree sun. Another beautiful day here just a bit windy, which is a nice bug defense.
I wish the CC started sooner, looking forward to it, so any inside info you can drop our way would be appreciated :) Where do we get started on it? Absalom?
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne |
More snow here in Denver. Should clear up in the next couple days though. Hopefully summer will come to stay after that.
Sirettis |
Oof. Another great day here in Boston, with a high around 85. This heat will break over the weekend, though.
Doesn't matter to me, I'm at a conference all day today.

*Walks in from a portal*
>_>
<_<
"Darnit! I empower-fireball my way through mobs of angry do-gooders to get my hands on a book on portal research, and i end up...where is this?
This certainly isn't CRON..."
*Opens a new portal, and walks through.*
GM Red |
Absalom. Comets. Planes. Spaaaace.
There are your hints :P
Sirettis |
Can't wait to fight some space dragons with my space lance as I space jump across some space volcanoes!
Mr. Peppers |
Some extra planar work for little Miss Cup then perhaps? Good thing I have that trusty 1 rank in K:Planes.
GM Red |
Yep, CC is a beast, but it looks like it'll be a lot of fun. I didn't read the whole scenario through, stopping about halfway, because I found myself wanting to highlight and take notes. I wasn't sure how I could do that with my iPad's default book reading app.

@Hmm, should the spells I'm copying from Mr. Peppers be noted in my chronicle? Also, what is the cost?

We probably should be recording it.
It is 5g for a cantrip, 10 for a first level spell.
Here's a handy-dandy Chart for PFS GMs.
Hmm
Silas Vincent |
It'll be:
0: Detect Magic, Light, Prestidigitation, Daze, Message, Open/Close
1: Feather Fall, Magic Missile, Grease, Color Spray
70 gp
Thanks Mr. P!
Mr. Peppers |
No problemo Sir. I think our set group is not going to be a boon to my spellbook with a lack of cheap spells. No matter, I'll pick some up here and there from scrolls we find and get to buy with in scenario gold :) A lack of prepared spells makes it not much of an issue.
Sir D. Arthraven |
Responding here instead of gameplay.
Peppers, that's my obstacle.
* While i'd love to throw people at other people, it becomes a gamble move with NPCs' increasing fort rolls on higher tiers. It's more effective on squishy types, other than those it's tricky to pull off.
* Invisibility, what is not to love about that?
* The touch sight is a prerequisite, and will be likely useless in itself, to get a 'i can't be caught flat footed vs anything inside of 30 feet'.
Feeling the presence / Ki of others nearby is more theme wise a gimmick.
I don't see a group of ninjas jumping onto us just yet.
Given our experiences thus far, however, turning invisible at will seems a useful tactical thing.
Sir D. Arthraven |
Point taken. :)
But i don't think Hmm or Red will grant me a bonus on my dayjob with it :P

GM Red |
That looks like Commander Keen.
Sadly, I've realized Silas is not going to be able to play with you guys again unless I get some GM chronicles applied to him soon. :(

I'm doing my very best to help you with that problem Red! You start more games, I'll help you get those chronicles!
Sir D. Arthraven |
No no, commander keen is quite different.
But you know that of course. :)
We've killed so much time with the Commander Keen series, though. :)
Sirettis |
I'm using HeroLab to make a Kineticist and man, there are a lot of options. As this class confused the heck out of me when I tried to read it on d20pfsrd.com, I'm happy HeroLab is making a lot more sense.

So? Is Hmm going to shed some hints on any big news from PaizoCon?
All I've seen was what was on their twitter page about the next Society year, shifter class, and teasers about Starfinder. I must have more!
Sir D. Arthraven |
Ugh... working in the open sun at 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
Drinks and shadow, are my salvations today!!
>_>
Uesugi Hideyoshi |
Uesugi has been in his workshop working on his craft getting ready to unveil
Sirettis |
I keep refreshing the page but nothing's happening!
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne |
What do you all think?
Is Gallix...
A) Drinking
B) Sleeping
C) Flexing
D) All of the Above
Silas Vincent |
E) Wishing he'd get fanmail as often as Silas does!

All I've seen was what was on their twitter page about the next Society year, shifter class, and teasers about Starfinder. I must have more!
1) My notes from the Starfinder Panel. The whole PaizoCon bloggery thread is worth reading for giving you an idea of what PaizoCon is like and then making you want to go.
2) There will be no race retirements or additions for Organized Play.
3) Electronically stored chronicle sheets will be allowed as the equivalent to paper, in order to allow Tonya to be able to drag her suitcase to conventions. This will help me out too!
4) There will be no new ACG base set released this year.
5) The plot of Season Nine will revolve around all the Society Factions and their futures. Changes will happen. This season (and its reporting) will affect the future of certain factions. The storyline for this will be split between the ACG season and the RPG PFS one. (THIS IS NEW.)
6) In Starfinder Society, we open after a major disaster that has taken out all the society's top agents. It is up to the very low level PCs to try to keep things together. As in Season 9, the plot will be shifting as the reporting comes in. We will build the story together, so it is vital to report.
7) Yep, the Shifter class is coming. Grrr. I am a werewolf of death.
8) There are rumors that the infamous Otugh "Hats" will be one of the few characters from the PFS Universe going into Starfinder. John Compton is threatening to make him an undead bone sage.
9) I have seen character sheets for four of the Starfinder Iconics and got to do some combat with them in 20 minute demos. They look very good.
10) Everyone of the PaizoCon staffers is a really awesome person. Painlord is a loon. People from the Netherlands are wonderful. The new special is great, and I'm thinking of changing the PbP Gameday schedule to run 8-99 Solstice Scar instead of Siege of the Diamond City.
Hmm
