Sirettis |
It's been great hanging with you, Blaster.
Player: Chadius
Character: Sirettis
PFS: 133608-16
Faction: Sovereign Court
Day Job: Perform(Wind): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
GM Red |
@Blaster It was great to have you along. Thanks for joining us and I hope to see you at another table!
I wonder what sort of political connections Uesugi will form in Isger...
Since I now have everyone's PFS information and a bit of time on my hands, you just might get your chronicles (and that sweet level up) soon. :)
Uesugi Hideyoshi |
We will soon see. Having the Mayor of Isger as an ally would be ideal :)
Btw I have updated my character to level 2. I'm assuming we will have limited downtime as in like 1 day (in game terms)?
If you need me to retro my character back just tell me.
GM Red |
That's fine Uesugi, because here are your chronicles:
Uesugi Hideyoshi
Blaster Corsac
Cup
Sir D. Arthraven
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
Mr. Peppers
Sirettis
If you see any errors, let me know. I'll go report the table.
A day or two of in-game downtime sounds fine to me. Real life speaking, I think I'd like to take the weekend off. If anyone else wants extra time off beyond that before we start the second part, let us know.
I felt we finished up that first module about as fast as a PFS scenario, yet it was worth twice the rewards for regular track. Not bad!
Mr. Peppers |
Fair travels Blaster. May you dice never come up 1's and the ale always be free.
Red: Making the roll for the following card requirement: Forgo your Downtime to finalize a report to the Pathfinder Society. Doing so requires a successful DC 15 Intelligence,
Wisdom, or Profession (scribe) check. Intelligence Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Gah! Bad dice, twice now!
Cup |
GM Red, tomorrow gametime can we do our faction missions?
Hmm
Uesugi Hideyoshi |
Argh Im still figuring this out. We get 3 XP 4 PP for modules right? And each level it takes 3 XP to advance?
I'm good to begin whenever everyone is ready. Seems like an interesting place to end a module but it is something scripted to be played as a trilogy. I was itching at discovering more from Gellion or the other apprentices.
GM Red |
@Mr. Peppers: Too busy studying those geeky magic books to properly write a Society report, I see :)
@Cup: Yup! I'm not too sure how those work though?
@Uesugi: Right, it was purposely left open-ended so that you'd have more to discover in the other two modules. There's a lot more to come. Where and how did the Demon's Bile get there in the first place anyway? And why did Gellion kidnap and hole up the apprentices in a seemingly random merchant's warehouse?
Mr. Peppers |
Damn I was all excited to level up! And now I realize I don't get to! Sad Elf. I know we've gone over this already... but to do the 3rd part of the module you must still be level 3 correct?
Sir D. Arthraven |
You did a summary earlier on, at which you'd be fine if you half tracked the 1st two parts.
Mr. Peppers |
Ya I just went back and found the discussion. Lots of pages to go through! My original decision was to full speed the 1st, then half speed #2, then full speed the final.
I hate to bother you Red, but could you redo my sheet for full xp/gold for this one? Mr Peppers really needs to level up, I just don't have the patience to wait! And I need more than 2 f'in spell choices per day.
Cup |
Anyone at level 1 should do this normal speed.
Cup was 2.0 going in, so she's fine so long as she half-tracks the second one.
Anyone with 2.2 levels needs to half track the first 2 modules.
Wheee!

I had two real options for the faction card this time around:
- Identify a potion or other magic item whose caster level equals or exceeds your character level
- Recruit a named NPC scholar, knowledgeable spellcaster, or similar figure to the Dark Archive. Recruitment requires a Diplomacy or Knowledge (arcana) check with a DC equal to 15 plus your character level.
I'm pretty sure that there was nothing high level for me to spellcraft this time around, but I could be wrong. Is there anyone else Dark Archive who would like to participate in the recruitment of Gellion or Nolaria?
I want to roleplay this!
Hmm
Mr. Peppers |
We found a potion of remove disease, that would be caster level 5. Potion of lesser restoration would be caster 3. The elixirs? Not sure. Lots of options!
Cup |
I'll have to see if I spell crafted it. You were Johnny on the spot with those spellcraft rolls! I'd love to recruit YOU to Dark Archive. If only I could do it without you paying 6pp.
Hmm
Mr. Peppers |
Ya this is my first played character so I really didn't choose a faction, just figured I'd go with the default. He would very much fit in dark archive though.
Edit: I'm not in the dark archive but if you want help RPing recruiting one of them Mr Peppers would be happy to urge them forward considering their strong rep. It also isn't out of the realm of possibility to recruit Mr Peppers at some point.
Cup |
I will have to remember to roll spellcraft rolls even if I have to do it retroactively.
____
The prestige point cost for changing factions is way too high. 3 x character level. I wish there was a boon that would allow me to lessen your cost!
My -1 character, Zahra, is a sorceress in Grand Lodge, but she really holds the Pathfinder Society close to her heart. So she likes to travel and such too, so it emotionally fits even though it's hard for her to complete faction card goals.
This is your -1? I would have never guessed you were so new.
Still, you get a check off point for the country of Isger!
___
EDIT:
I'm off to recruit either Gelly or Nolaria. D is also Dark Archive. I wonder if he will want to recruit the one that I do not. I would love your company, Mr. Peppers.
Hmm.
Mr. Peppers |
I have two I created that are -1 and -2 but they've never been played. So Peppers is technically -3 but the first played.
Oh the cost is enhanced by character level, ouch. Ya and I've already spend 6PP on wands.
Yes please roll to ID stuff, Mr Peppers will always be doing it but if you want he can refrain from telling you what it is until you make the attempt yourself.
Mr. Peppers |
I'm taking a rank in Linguistics to learn Auran since Sirettis seemed agreeable to teach it. If that isn't the case let me know, I'm not sure how PFS handles learning languages.
Mr. Peppers |
Mr Peppers will keep her distracted to help buy you time Red. Thanks again for the rewrite. I gained so much with that level.. feat, exploit, another 1st level spell, more offensive spells known.
Cup |
If Sirettis doesn't teach you, Cup will. All you need is a rank in linguistics, Pep!
Hmm
Mr. Peppers |
Ya I took it, thanks. I didn't realize it was also a class skill so that's a nice bonus. I did want to try getting a rank in most class skills for that nice +3 boost. I guess a new knowledge skill will have to wait for next level.
Holy gold! I'm going to have to start saving up for that nice +2 Int headband! But that partial wand of knock is inviting as well. How much fame do you need to buy a 4k gold item?
Sirettis |
Did we get 3XP for that? Wow.
Well, I gotta level up.
Cup |
We got 3 XP!!
And did you see the goodies on the sheet? Wow. Cup will have those lovely green jeweled boots. AWESOME! She will be the best dressed gnome, ever! There's also partial wands that are nifty. I've got to GM this at Dreamers!
EDIT: By the way, Cup can learn another 2 languages this level. Got any recommendations for something in this area that I can pick up?
Hmm
Sirettis |
Cup, Goblin may be useful to learn, especially if we wind up in the forest near Saringallow.
I'll look into the free fancy dress.
Okay, I explained how I leveled up. Spooky.
Cup |
Cup already had goblin!
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne |
Gallix is up to level 2 specs. Took a couple non class skills for story purposes/funsies. Picked upTien so D and Uesugi can't talk about me behind my back in Tien anymore. Haha!
Also picked up some shiny new weapons to deal with DR stuff. Yay!
Sir D. Arthraven |
Uesugi, quickly. We need to learn a language none of the others speak.
That would be an awesome running gag, learning new languages just to talk in private.
Or a heavy Tien dialect, if those exist?
Sir D. Arthraven |
My blast went up an extra 1d6+1, and i can now throw people at people too.
Double the hurt.
Mr. Peppers |
Ya looks like you gained some nice stuff as well D. Level 3 is usually a nice level getting another feat and other good scaling stuff like sneak attack or bomb damage or whatever the heck you do.
I took some more combat spells to go along with counterspell. I've leave the situational stuff to Cup.
Sir D. Arthraven |
True, since Aether shoots vs regular AC, weapon focus seems a decent choice for feat.
GM Red |
I hate to rain sand bullets on your parade, but I think you need to be level 6 to choose a level 3 infusion like Foe Throw..?
Every wild talent has an effective spell level. A kineticist can always select 1st-level wild talents, but she can select a wild talent of a higher level only if her kineticist level is at least double the wild talent's effective spell level.
Infusions are referred to as Infusion Wild Talents, so that would include them.
Mr. Peppers |
I ended up taking extra reservoir to fuel caster level boosts and my magic controlling exploits. The damage spells function as damage options as well as good spells to counter to keep the group alive. Once I get to level 5 I can start in on some metamagic fun.
Its pretty sad though that I'm level 3 and only have 17 hp :(
Mr. Peppers |
The HAMMER has been layed! Take a look at my sheet to be sure I'm not screwing anything up either.
PS, even though we're not in Absalom are we able to purchase items we've found in past adventures? I can't imagine there being anywhere in this hick town that sells any sort of magic items...
Sir D. Arthraven |
Heck....
The Aether kineticist only has 1 lvl 1 infusion. I'm not getting a 2nd element until lvl 7....so i don't know what that leaves me with.
Sir D. Arthraven |
Nvm, i forgot there is the Universal branche of infusions.
Either kinetic blade, which is vs normal AC (as well >_>), or extended range, giving my blast 100 feet range.
But i'll probably go with the blade.
I've reserved 1 skill point for the language. ;)
Uesugi Hideyoshi |
Are we allowed to purchase new exotic weapons like an enchanted katana? Hehe.
I need to check companion guide for Tien I'm sure there is another dialect we can find. Maybe some form of Tien draconian hehe.
Sirettis |
Extended Range is very nice and lets you stay far away from melee.
GM Hmm |
Still looking for language ideas. I already had goblin. I'll have to go through the list of languages in the region and see if there's anything I missed.
Sorry I wasn't around today. Just finished GMing the final part of Feast of Dust.
GM Hmm keels over after her marathon.
See you tomorrow. For now... Sleep.
Hmm
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne |
Gallix could teach you Vudran in exchange for teaching him Tien. :)
Mr. Peppers |
You gain 2 languages per level? I always have a hard enough time picking 1 per level! Abyssal could come in handy considering what we've already run into. Infernal may be accessible considering the ties to Cheliax. Mr Peppers would totally suggest speaking one of those around town...
