I'm a fan of leveling where the book expects it, since that way it's a lot less micromanagement.

I second that. Too many times in past games we'd end a session 40 XP away from leveling.

RULE PROCLAMATION

Pretty sure this is Canon, but in any case my ruling:
LONG REST is a period of at least 8 hours of leisure or sleep. This time can be filled with conversation or relaxing pastimes, but no training, crafting, or business. All daily abilities can be refreshed except those that specifically rely on a time of day (GM discretion).

Seem fair? Silly to have to waste a whole day or pretend that your characters can just fall asleep at noon because you're out of spells.

Seems good by me. It's worth asking if Oracles are at a specific time of day or if they're 8 hours of rest+15 minutes like sorcerers are, tho.

I like that ruling a lot. Since I feel that as long as you are resting and not focusing your powers should naturally recharge or something. Like Alexis stuffing her face and being social wouldn't hurt nothing but if she tried to scribe a scroll that would require focus and not allow her properly rest her mind. This makes a lot of logical sense to me. Also allows more fluid role play than just "Rest time everybody falls over for 8 hours." I am a fluff bunny I like me some good ol RP in my RPG lol.


As of yet oracles are no different. Only very powerful things have 24 he limits, and I'll let you know if I see one.

(Also I filled that final Spell Known slot with Sanctuary to fit Septima's role of "squishy cleric that needs to be kept away from fights")


I did think of an exception, though I don't think it applies to any of you yet, spells that last for a day or more use up a spell slot for an entire day. That way you can't repeatedly take long rests and fill a castle with three death runes a day or something like that.

Oh yeah that's fair lol, I am perfectly okay with balancing such things for some of the more ridiculous spells in the game. Also why for balance In NOT going to attempt to argue for the spell Suffecation. Fricking spells let's you begin choking something on a failure but if they succed on their fort they still become stunned. It's brutal and honestly something I feel is too broken as it is.

It seemed worse than it actually because I suck at rolling, so too many things just fell over and suffocated.
