"The lizardling is speaking truth, she won't be harmed while in their care." He looks directly at Audrey. "I honestly don't see another path that ends with us surviving..."
She won't say so, even if she could speak, but Eddric's words have moved Audrey. You have a true friend there.
Audrey signs: Tell him you need me. See if there is some other collateral they will accept. You are all certainly quick enough to leave me behind...except you.
Eddric aggressively stares at the war chief captor, then without a word he reaches out to the spears ready to kill and slits his palm against them. Then shows his bloody hand to the war chief. After he points at Audrey he gives her his hand.
"I think I got an idea, tell me you have some of that fancy magic still." The goal of his gesture was to show that Audrey was the parties healer, that withholding her would reduce their combat effectiveness.
Our blood of aroden is reluctant to hand over our healer. He asks if you understand her importance to us. Is there perhaps a material wealth we might leave in her place?
Wraith murmurs to the others. "I agree, leaving behind one of our own is unthinkable."
Wraith bows before Sootscale. " si propose vi vargach di wills. yth geou tepoha vi contest. whoever shilta zexenuma awake wer drongilti vaexir ekess wer grandscale di wer vrrar headed gherthael nishka prove allegiance. si tekilek wer janikup sootscale vur si bevi tikil dahakoan ekess show throdenilt nokglaur loupon si tepoha ihk jacion."
Draconic:
I propose a battle of wills. We'll have a contest. Whoever can stay awake the longest bowing to the Grandscale of the Four Headed Wyrmling shall prove allegiance. I respect the Mighty Sootscale and I dare any dragonkin to show more devotion than I have for him.
Wraith gets down on his knees in front of Sootscale and bows low.
Upon seeing the tiefling drop to his knees, the kobolds cheered in triumph. In response, Chief Fireback belched flame from his gapping jaws and Chief Sootscale drew himself to his full height.
"Yang satu ini mempunyai idea yang betul. Penghormatan adalah kerana yang Grandscale! Berlutut dan menerima kata akhir saya!"
Draconic:
This one has the right idea. Homage is due to the Grandscale! Kneel and receive my final word!
Will you accept this challenge Mighty Clan? If an outsider can show more homage to your Grandscale by the simple task of staying awake longer in worship, will you let us all go to do your bidding and destroy the horned beasts and mites?
"Anda bertutur lidah kami, anda bajingan anjing kampung tetapi anda tidak boleh memahami cara kami. Cabaran yang di bawahnya yang paling rendah di kalangan kita, tiada siapa ibadat Grandscale. Sootscale adalah umat pilihan kami untuk memimpin dan kemudian, hanya apabila kita berkumpul menentang musuh bersama.Rukuk sekarang, untuk kobold yang adalah tuan anda sekarang!"
Draconic:
You speak our tongue, you mongrel bastard but you cannot fathom our ways. Such a challenge is beneath the lowliest among us, for no one worships the Grandscale. Sootscale is our elect to lead and then, only when we gather against a common enemy. Bow down now, for the kobold are your masters now!
Already on his knees due to the low ceiling and his palms flat against his thighs, Anga slightly tilts his head forward no more than a few inches. The shadows cast on his face from the drawn hood deepen as his head lowers before the reptilians.
"Ickth vanuct fal gorem tal nee gemenstock. Sheal forsaten muchkh al benaert." He mutters under his breath.
Orcish:
"Godsd***** c***-s****** c***. Thrice s*** upon motherf****** whore son."
Those who listen can hear the strain in the thiefs voice as he says.
"I'm going to live."

Draconic:
Oh? Chief Fireback was it? Are you too proud to lower your head to Chief Sootscale, the Grandscale? He who just now himself said homage was due to him? There is nothing wrong with admiring and praising his deeds in which even YOU have "claimed" to admire in order to have elected him to become the Grandscale! YOU are not the one to who I am bowing, but to the Great Sootscale. Great Sootscale, we already were on a mission to end the Deer Gods, and we will gladly destroy your foes the mites. But we need our entire group in order for your will to be carried out. We are but a few; we will need our healer to keep us strong to fight the Deer Gods and the mites. Without our full combat capabilities, we will have failed the Grandscale in which no one wants to disappoint.
"Translate for me word for word." Eddric turns to the war-chief. " Kill me, your claim to power is fifty kobolds trapping five humans. You want us dead, DO IT." Eddric stands, arms stilled tied behind his back. "The truth is you want us to kill the Stag Lord, you want us to kill these mites. We want peace and to create a promising trade network. Make a deal with us or kill us, your choice but lets do away with this slaver crap. If you wanted more slaves there are better suited out their for that life then a bunch of hot heads warriors."
"Calm down, Eddric. Let me handle this, I will paraphrase for you later." the wizard answers tersely.
Thaegrin smiles ingratiatingly to the chiefs across the chasm. "hesi ukrisir arytiss ui eager ekess smash mites. wer half-devil renthisjic truth, despite jacida lack di manners usv pride usv shishini. wer aesthyr ui vital ekess hesi success, sjek wux geou indulge nomeno allowance."
Draconic:
"Our talky warrior is eager to smash mites. The half-devil speaks truth, despite his lack of manners or pride or sense. The woman is vital to our success, if you will indulge this allowance."
He nods in respect.
Diplomacy 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 Bloody hell. Rolls to aid, anyone?
OOC: I don't speak lizard... BTW this whole not meta gaming at all is kinda like playing hardcore style. I have no idea whats going on outside of what gets translated.

Sootscale cuts him off.
"Saya bersetuju dengan saudara anda. Pemanah tidak akan bercakap lagi."
Draconic:
I agree with you brother. The archer will not speak again.
He turns to Thaegrin.
"Anda mempunyai pilihan sekarang. Anda boleh melutut dan memberi penghormatan sebagai mata pelajaran puak Kobold, bersumpah setia dengan negara kita, dan berjuang dan mati bagi kami di panggilan kami. Atau, untuk hidup berasingan tetapi sama, anda meninggalkan salah satu pihak anda kepada kami, untuk tujuan kita sendiri, DAN anda memusnahkan Hama dan Tuhan Rusa. Akhir sekali, anda boleh memilih untuk dimakan hidup."
Draconic:
You have a choice now. You may kneel and pay homage as subjects of the Kobold clans, swear fealty to our nation, and fight and die for us at our call. Or, to live separate but equal, you leave one of your party to us, for our own purposes, AND you destroy the Mites and the Deer God. Lastly, you may choose to be eaten alive.
This last option sends the Kobolds into a frenzy again. The hiss and growl, their scales bristling like so many nails on a chalkboard.
Thaegrin turns to the others. "They give us three choices: One, we bow to them, and live at their beckoned call. Two, we leave one of us here, and the rest of us go. He was unclear if the hostage will survive. In this, we will be regarded as separate but equal. Third, we can be eaten alive.
"I, for one, do not wish to be slave to these folk, nor eaten alive."
Maybe we should fight? I see the lizards with our weapons just over there.
15 feet from you, two Kobolds stand with your weaponry at their feet.
Thaegrin and Audrey have spells, Wraith is a monk, and Eddric has gauntlets. If you got to your weapons, it would be a HARD fight, but possible. besides, there are only 20 or so on this side of the chasm.
"Maybe we leave the three of them here, and they can stick together as a merry group, fight their fight and die underground." He offers a bitter laugh. "I say if no one will stay, we bow." He casts a meaningful glance at the wizard. "Better to be shamed and alive than dead and proud."
Almost as an afterthought he adds; "Besides, it's not like we can't come back and kill them all later... then who would be the proud ones?"
"Errr... pardon me Sir Eddric... but shouldn't YOU get the weapons since the rest of us can fight fairly well without them..? A man is fine with his fists, but don't you thoroughly enjoy a man's sword?"
Anga glances around the chamber, noting the 50 + Kobolds. Aside from the chasm in front of them he tries to spot any other exits or passage-ways leading from the hall.
Bound hands, yes? Will I need a concentration check to cast anything? "Fates be damned, is that all you lot know to do? Fight and kill? Especially when an alliance is in our grasp? When you live as long as I have, the appeal of upholding principles begins to fade. I am glad the halfbreed shows a shred of sense. You may be ready to die today, but I am not!"
Thaegrin takes a deep breath, and calms down. "I will stay, if it will keep you stoneheads from destroying a fragile alliance."
He turns to the chief, his voice utterly serious. "astahii lack wer unity di wux dahakoan. si zklaen zexenuma, sjek astahii shilta ti douhvy. show sia thurirli wer idol ekik. tir ti levnim astahi."
Draconic:
They lack the unity of you dragonkin. I must stay, if they cannot decide. Show my friends the way out. Do not harm them.
He addresses his companions bitterly. "It is done. You four will leave here peacefully to destroy the mites, and the Stag Lord. See that you make haste. If you fight now, I will not mourn your foolish end."
"Shut up knight." Anga says this matter-of-factly, none of the usual derision, but also no patience in his tone. Again he addresses Oleg. "Good. Have my sheaths come in yet?" Anga glances around to ensure that nothing really has happened.
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 Seeing if I can spot any oddities, or people not there who should be.
To the knight, Oleg starts to speak, but he decides that Anga's rebuke is enough. To Anga he says: "I believe they did. I left 'em sitting on top of the wizards papers in the office."
Eddric shocked by Anga retort, slides into a mild rant."Look here, I'll put you down without a hesitation half-breed. Your eleven blood is pathetic, thinking that your so much better. I grow tired of you people. Now ask yourself, is showing a small amount of respect towards me worth a fight mutt!"
Eddric stairs down Anga, "Now walk away before this gets violent." Eddric raises his sword preparing for Anga's possible mental or physical onslaught.
Eddric is still a tad frustrated with the previous situation. I warn you all Eddric's a Evil Cockatrice Caviler. S~@$ gets real... fast. Peace is a lie!
