Shadow Lodge

You would be in reach of both. I will continue as though you are NOT flanking as you've missed either way.

Audrey moves 55 feet up to stand behind Sir Eddric, longspear in hand.
_________________

The gnome steps back a pace to the left and gestures with his hand and a black substance sprays at Eddric.

Eddric's reflex save 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

The liquid covers his hands, slippery and thick. He drops his sword!

The human creature, in turn, steps up swinging hard.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 for 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9

Eddric leans away from the blow.

Y'all up again :)

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

"Focus the gnome! He has magics!" Wraith bellowed as he fired two more arrows at the gnome.

I suck. I haven't been using Point blank shot since I'm only 20 ft away. Adding it in here.

Flurry of Blows w/bow
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 191d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Shadow Lodge

Wraith plants an arrow deep in the gnomes shoulder.

Male Feraweni Wizard

The sound of breaking stone clatters overhead, and in a puff of cyan smoke, a bird of prey appears. It immediately spots the smallest prey, and baring its talons, swoops onto the gnome.
Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage 1d4 ⇒ 3

Thaegrin steps forward twenty feet, and angles a focused line of chill at the gnome.
Ray of Frost. Ranged Touch Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Damage 1d3 ⇒ 1 cold damage

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Seeing his companion take a hit from the gnome, Anga sidesteps and moves to flank the smaller creature.

Acrobatics to avoid AoO 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

Dodging and weaving he makes his way to behind the gnome.
Trying to flank here.

Once again his blade leaps forth, searching out a weakness in his enemies defense.

Rapier Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Crit Confirm 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Rapier Dmg 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 = 6
Sneak Attack 1d6 ⇒ 2

Shadow Lodge

The eagle strikes true when Thaegrin does not!

Anga succesfully rolls into a better position but his attack could not be as precise as he would have hoped.

No sneak, because without Imp Unarmed Strike, Eddric does not threaten without his sword.

Male Human Fighter

The knight steps lightly in-tandem with Anga. Then Eddric still sticky, swings at the gnome with his bare fist.

I think he is still armed with crossbow?

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 1d3 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Shadow Lodge

He is not armed.

Audrey takes advatntage of the gnome's distraction and thrusts her spear at it from under Eddric's outstretched arm.

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21 for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Confirm 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

Audrey's spear enters at the eye socket and exits at the back of the gnome's neck. The human-creature vanishes!

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Anga looks at the dead gnome, then at the place where the creature last stood. "Huh." He continues to stare as he wipes the blood from his blade, moving to the gnome to check it for valuables.

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

"Thaegrin, is it safe to rummage through his things? A man knows little of such magics. Can you determine if he has any sigil or token like the one he requested?" Wraith asked as he went to fetch his arrows that went wide.

Male Feraweni Wizard

Shortly after the gnome's expiration, the summoned eagle disappears in a similar fashion to the man-creature.
"A prudent question, Wraith. It would be best to examine his possessions before claiming them."
Thaegrin strides to the gnome corpse, stopping directly over it. After a brief muttering, the wizard is completely still in concentration.
Cast Detect Magic, concentrating for three rounds. If any auras are detected, he will set these items aside. If there are multiple auras, he will categorize them accordingly.

Shadow Lodge

There is one aura: minor evocation. The source is a 2 foot length of ironwood.

Besides that, the following items can be found in the camp and on the body:
120 gp
earrings, silver - 150gp
dark and iron wood music box - 90gp
furs and hides - 150gp
crate of 8 green bottles - 20 gp each
Greatsword
MWK chain shirt (small)
MWK crossbow (small)
shortspear
MWK Leather Lamellar

Male Feraweni Wizard

Thaegrin focuses on the length of ironwood.
Spellcraft 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

"There looks to be enough for us to take twenty-four gold pieces each. Some of this we can probably sell to Oleg, the furs, music box, and small equipment. Now, as for these bottles..."

Thaegrin unstops one, sniffs, then takes a sip. Spellcraft? 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

Sorry, in the middle of an edit when I saw your answer.

Shadow Lodge

Thaegrin:

Wand of Magic Missile caster level 1. We'll play wands as written for this game and see how that goes.

Shadow Lodge

Thaegrin tastes a strong and somewhat bitter herbal alcohol: very potent.

Male Feraweni Wizard

Thaegrin coughs and sputters. "Hmph. Some kind disinfectant. Very strong," he clears his throat hoarsely, "Ack! Blind fates, it burns."
He loudly clears his throat again, and seems to recover. He begins to tuck the wand away, and explains, "This would be of best use in my hands. As for anything we don't use, I say we bring to Oleg's for trade."

He reaches down and takes his share of the gold. Standing, he looks around the trees and vegetation.

"Now, for the purpose of our excursion. Let us scour the grove for a stash of treasure."

Would you allow us to take 20 on Perception, for the bandit loots (if any)?

Shadow Lodge

The loot above included camp loots. You've found everything now.

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Seeing Thaegrins reaction to the bottles Anga scoops one up and unstoppers it. Tipping it back he takes a large gulp and immediately spews it out. Sniffing at the bottle he attempts a small sip. Confidence returned once more, he upends the bottle and downs a fourth of its contents before sticking the stopper back in the neck. He begins to walk to his horse before he hurries back and grabs two more bottles. The Thief then places them in his saddlebags before collecting his thrown dagger.

Looking around the clearing he offers, "I don't know Elf, I think this might be the sum of it." Anga casts another dubious glance around their surroundings before walking back to the group.

Hmmm, I can't find the stats for Lamellar...

Shadow Lodge

MWK Leather Lamellar: Light Armor +4 AC Max Dex +3 Armor Check Penalty -1, Arcane Spell Fail 20%

Anga, make a fortitude save.

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Fortitude Save 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

Male Feraweni Wizard

Did my Spellcraft check tell me how many charges are left in the wand?

"Very well, then."

Thaegrin raises an eyebrow at Anga's sudden consumption of the strong alcohol, but says nothing. He replaces the Mage Armor scroll to its case, and brings his mount closer to pile of wealth. He begins to secure the music box, fur pelts, and earrings.

Shadow Lodge

Take 1 CON damage and a -2 penalty on all Dex, Int, and Wis skills until you sleep for 8 hours.

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Wow, where can I get this stuff in real life?! Heh.

Male Human Fighter

Eddric begins his attempt's to remove the greasy substance from his hands. "Aye, nice blow Audrey."

Male Feraweni Wizard

"Indeed."

Thaegrin jots a note and hands it to Audrey.

Note:
We are not barbarians, but we would do well to befriend a few, and I am not above taboo in order to do so. With your knowledge of healing, I could use your help in harvesting the meat of this creature for the kobolds.

Standing over the dead gnome, the wizard draws his dagger, and states, "This gnome is going to make a contribution to a future alliance. I, for one, am grateful for his charitable heart, albeit posthumous."

His lips curl slightly in amusement. He kneels and removes the gnome's garments, and begins making dissecting cuts, as though dressing game. His smirk fouls into a grimace at the task, and his hard eyes and quick hands are inexperienced.

Survival? 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Female Fetchling Oracle 1

Audrey watches Thaegrin and smirks as he fumbles about. She shoves him aside though she clearly wishes him to watch and learn.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Her hands are quicker and exceedingly deft. She expertly quarters the gnome and separates the meat and guts. She then sets aside the heart and liver with the meat. The brain she fries up on the spot and bids everyone eat.

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Anga sniffs at the offered delicacy, frowns, then sniffs again. Shrugging he stabs a piece with a dagger and swallows it in one quick gulp, not even bothering to chew. He sits contemplating the meal, "You know, I'm not usually one for eating folks what be self-aware and all. But that wasn't too bad...
...Food for thought I suppose."

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

[b]"A man wonders if one could absorb magical potency from this," Wraith asks as he munches away.

Male Feraweni Wizard

"Let us save some of this meat for the kobolds," Thaegrin instructs between bites, "I was hoping we could gain their alliance by offering them one large gift of food, in order to free ourselves from a constant and petty responsibility. I expect we shall find other creatures of the forest we can add to this offering."

After a moment's pause, he adds, "Unless someone has another idea of how to deal with the kobold tribe?"

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

"If it's food they want, it's food they shall have if that's all it takes for this alliance. Let's head back to the outpost to see if they've sent their envoy. A man is itching for a chance to take down this mighty boar in hopes of a new bow." Wraith said as he wiped the oil from his face and stood up to start packing.

Female Fetchling Oracle 1

Audrey stands agape a moment, watching as her companions so easily eat the gnome's brain. When she notices that everyone is staring at her, she swallows hard and nods assertively. She takes a generous scoop of brains off a spoon and turned away to find he horse.

From behind, it looks like the woman wretches, but she regurgitates nothing. She takes her horse in hand and mounts uneasily, clearly waiting to be on the way.

Male Human Fighter

Eddric passes on the brains. He shakes his head and walks off while the group devours the dead. He leans against the a nearby tree waiting to be done with the this place. The knight seems to be looking everywhere to avoid eye contact with Audrey.

Seriously, I checked this morning then I get off work and you guys are eating brains..... side question; Bath Salts, do you use them?

Shadow Lodge

You ride until the light fails and a bit longer besides. When you cannot continue, the group camps and rises 8 hours later, just before the sun rises.

You reach Oleg's as the dawn ignites the sky in oranges, blues, and reds: blood red.

Somewhat in shadow, but illuminated enough to see, Doge's body hangs from the wall next to the closed gate of Oleg's Trading post.

Male Feraweni Wizard

Thaegrin lets out a long, annoyed sigh. He scans the battlements, and surrounding landscape for foes.
Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

"... Well. I guess that saves a man some gold." Wraith sighed as he pulled out his bow as insurance in case of any oddity.

Perception 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

"Never liked that guy. Don't like guys that try to kill me, not in general." He dismounts from his horse and tosses the reins to his companions. He glances around and tilts his head to listen for any odd noises.

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

"Reckon ya'll might want to go up the front way, see what's going on. I'll head round back in case ol' Oleg decided he don't like being our friend."

The Thief seems to melt into the long morning shadows as he makes his way towards the back of the trading post.

Stealth 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22

Male Human Fighter

Eddric glances at Anga, then dismounts as well. Eddric then walks towards the gate scanning his surroundings.

1d20 ⇒ 5

Shadow Lodge

You hear the sounds of hammer on anvil and Kesten's voice drilling his men in the yard.

You smell baking bread.

There is no sign of foe.

Male Feraweni Wizard

Without remark, Thaegrin heels his mount into a trot toward the gate. Once sixty feet away, he pauses to make sure his companions are following.

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Taking note that nothing seems out of place Anga does a once over of the trading post. Checking for anything out of the ordinary as he circles it. Once completing his circuit around the walls he comes to a stop right next to the front gate, he sticks to the shadows there as he checks to see if the traps they'd built are still in place.

Shadow Lodge

There are boards covering the traps so that one can walk over it.

Male Feraweni Wizard

Thaegrin guides his mount to the gate, and raises his voice before he reaches the crossing boards.
"Captain Garess, open this gate."

The blacksmith hammer continues, but the sound of drilling ceases and before long the gate swings open.

"Welcome back gentlemen." Kesten returns to his command and the drilling returns.

Male Human Fighter

"The reason for the hanging?" Eddric asks while he wonders into the courtyard.

Shadow Lodge

Kesten gestures irritably toward Oleg who walks into the stable storeroom and shut the door.

Male Human Fighter

Eddric chases down Oleg, trying to get a straight answer. He attempts to open the door.

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

"Oleg, what did the sellsword do?" Wraith asked as he rapped on the door with his knuckles.

Oleg throws the door open and bellows.

"My home, my law! Now leave me to my work before you get the same!"

Intimidate 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

Oleg's rage is burning hot and he just might mean it. Besides, can you really trust Kesten won't back the old man?

You are all shaken until you spend 1 hour away from Oleg's sight.

Male Human Fighter

"I understand your house your laws..." Eddric looks to Wraith with an eye for violence."But what did the man do to offend you so that we may not make the same mistake!"

diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18

I really think we should find some way to covertly kill him, take over and start running our own trading business.

"He robbed me! He threatened my wife! He and his friends cowed me and I let them! I will not stand for disrespect anymore! THIS IS MY HOME! I AM THE MASTER HERE!"

The old man hurls his hammer across the room and it smashes through a barrel of quench water and clangs over a table of new made horse shoes.

"Now get out of my sight and let me work!"
