Shadow Lodge

You've got it :)

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Thanks!

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Anga is already holding. His prepared attack was only if they attacked us again.

Shadow Lodge

I know you were holding. Now the queston is, will you trust the wizard to parley in the depth of the kobold stronghold? You have to go willingly.

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Yes, his prepared attack was only if they attacked us again.

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

Challenged Sootscale to an epic rap battle of history.

Epicccc rap battles of HISTORY!

Yo, yo, yo, yo.

I'm Wraith and I'm here to kick your ass,
it don't matter that all you do is sit around and smoke some grass!

You think you're king, with your beady little eye,
It don't matter though when I slit your throat and you gasp and DIE.

You think you've got us beat surrounding us with your hoard,
Please, I've seen worse than that from butterflies, you're making me BORED.

Sup. Peace.

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Mannnnn you got your little kingdom here underground,
but four greater hero's? Yeah, not gon-na be found!

Or perhaps ANTI-hero's the word,
cause we fill ya full a holes like Atilla the Third!

Triumph of the sliest that's sure to be the case,
stab you in the back but do it straight to your face!

Keep it real.

Male Feraweni Wizard

Things were going great
Til Wraith fell prostrate

Paying homage to lesser folk
This must be a joke

Nay, the wizard prepares profanity
For the archer with no vanity

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

I LIKE playing an evil character!

Male Feraweni Wizard

I don't want to KILL THEM ALL because they may be helpful later in the game, especially if we are taking an evil route to building a kingdom. These kobolds are evil AND lawful, which means they will obey the law and not raise a stink about our evil doings. I can't expect other "normal" subjects to go along with our evil ways. This is why I don't want to kill them.

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

All I know is, I'm never saying anything again drawn from fantasy books I've read in the past. Kobolds are supposed to be proud, like getting praised and sucked up to, and haughty, but this one is modest? Screw that. No more talking for me.

Shadow Lodge

They have an elected representative. Praising the one honors all, IF the praiser is an outsider. A kobold praising the Grandscale would be like making out with himself in a mirror.

Shadow Lodge

Also Paizo and I are not big on stereotypes. :)

Male Human Fighter

Race-ism = win!

Male Human Fighter

"Eddric is going to kill everyone in their sleep if we keep treating him like this."- DT [/ooc]

"Rule 1 Decision: No PVP. Ever. Period. Problem solved. Threats and conversation are ok." -DSP

That's pretty lame that we are limiting character choices. IMO, if your going to actively start a fight you better be ready to finish it. IE: so much rudeness warrants violence. Huge huge problem with this.

I understand that we shouldn't be actively killing party members because that leads to more and more PC killing. But, part of playing dnd is playing as if this was real. Character progression requires struggles and hardships. Lastly, separate yourself from your character. If Eddric started a fight with Anga and died in it, I would have no problem coming back as something else without a grudge.

A person wouldn't go up to the Rock and say, "shut up idiot." The big man would punch the perpetrator in the face. Sure the Rock would go to jail, and their would be other consequences. Point of the matter is this if your not stone cold steve austin, being rude to the rock might get you beat up. Cause and Effect, not saying that Eddric is the rock, I would even state that Eddric already lost a pvp match.

Do not get me wrong, I like the rudeness. I love being a racist. I want that to continue, but taking out actions that a PC can do... its weird. Can we still ride a horse? Argue with kings? Die in a glorious fight? Insult other PC's? Wheres the line, it is a dangerous slope when we start taking away the PCs rights.

To reference early, Eddric was attacked in pvp? Yet, we let that fly.

Wall of txt hits you for over 9000
Sorry for the rant, but the ability to make choices as my character is one of my favorite parts of dnd.

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Personally, just like in real life, I find PC fights/arguments not pertaining to whats going on to be INCREDIBLY boring. I hate spending time writing them because it simply isn't fun, in my opinion.

Anga, though now possessing little and less respect for Eddric, is content to let him do what he wants to do, excepting when such actions clearly go against the consensus of the group.

The group needs Oleg. The group doesn't want to kill Oleg. The group doesn't want to get on Oleg's bad side. The group has EXPLICITLY stated this on several occasions.

Hence when Anga sees some foolishness going on with Oleg, he'll step in (SOMEtimes, he IS a lazy ass after all). I doesn't matter WHO starts the s$~! with Oleg. In other words it's not personal against Eddric, it's just that so far, Eddric is the only one who flies into a knuckle-dragging rage at the drop of a hat.

Which is FINE, that's okay to play a character like that. It adds an interesting dynamic. The only problem is that it mostly comes out when we're at Olegs. I.E. the most boring place in all of the River Kingdoms.

Consequently when drama starts at the trading post Anga's willingness to make note of it doubles. Because not only is it going against the consensus of the group, but it's ALSO prolonging his stay at the place that doesn't have any of the three things Anga likes; Money, Women, and People he can kill with impunity.

Anyway, that's the reasoning behind his snarky attitude. Well all that and the fact that Angas an a&~$#@@, heh.

Male Human Fighter

I don't think there has been one serious mention of of taking Oleg out in-character, just as with the OOC meth lab thought.

I find the negativity incredibly dull and unrealistic.

I think were on different pages, I see the negative remarks and the threats/actions on life as the same thing. When a remark is made on table, it generates a response. That response could be anything from a laps of response,to a negative retort back, and violence. The truth of the matter is our characters are generating a story, with the guidance of the DM. How these characters react to a situation is up to us. If you do not want to rp pvp I would suggest not smartassing the warmongering knight. Just as if I do not want to RP Eddric learning about spell casting, I'd stay away from starting that path with thaegrin.

I enjoy what you have done thus far and wish to see more of it in the future. Just as Anga is a snarky Dick, Eddric is an overly aggressive dick.

Disclaimer-
Do not confuse my previous post as a harassment memo so much as a tooth and nail attempt against molestation by the DM.

Shadow Lodge

It's still a no on outright player vs. player. Brawling, and nonlethal damage are fine, but nothing else.

Also, if two of you decide to fight, that means the other two are doing nothing until you're done.

PVP slows down the game and ruins the party unity and often leads to the end of a game.

We're just not going to do it.

Shadow Lodge

I have an idea.

I just started a new job and posting is hard without the books near me, AND ya'll want to do evil, evil things.

My proposal is one or the other.

1. We continue with these characters in this setting, but I throw out the books and homebrew it. (I will use a lot of the content, but I can slant people to make evil easier at first.)

2. You level your current characters or make new ones at level 7, and we start an Urban based power-grab game.

I leave it to you, but I need to make one or the other change to keep this thing going.

Male Feraweni Wizard

Homebrew (the first option) would be my preference.

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Homebrew sounds good.

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

Either is fine!

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

Is the second one homebrew also? Just leveled up to 7 homebrew?

Male Human Fighter

I would love the idea of doing a Urban power grab, Game of thrones style setting. Many many houses vying for one seat really appeals to me. But alas I fear the numbers are against me.

Shadow Lodge

Yes David.

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

I vote urban then. I haven't ever gotten to play a higher level character.

Shadow Lodge

That's two vs. two.

Talk it out and figure on an answer.

Male Feraweni Wizard

Oh, if the level 7 is also homebrew, then sure. Urban-based power grab sounds good.

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

That's fine with me. (I only like to follow behind somebody else's choices, heh.)

Male Human Fighter

WELL NOW That everyone changed there mind, i kinda hafta say that we shouldn't abandon these characters so lightly.

JK! Ya urban power grab woot woot.

Shadow Lodge

Ok. Use this discussion thread to post questions and whatnot. You can level your current characters to 7 and give them 23,500gp worth of items.

OR

You can create a new character with the same gold. Generate stats as before: 2 sets of 2d6+6 then pick the one set you pick the one you like.

If you chose the first option, level your character and tell me here when you are done and I will review it.

If you choose the second, use the dice roller here and tell me which set you will use. After your character is done, post under the new alias and I will review the character.

THE FASTER YOU ARE DONE, THE FASTER WE RESTART PLAY.

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

Question, will our characters know each other still?

Shadow Lodge

Yes. You should all discuss this. It would be easiest if you were somehow related to the same house.

Male Feraweni Wizard

I was planning to just level up Thaegrin, maybe switch his school. I think he would likely serve as house wizard, or has ambitions to be so. Beyond that, furthering the influence of the house would be in his best interest. He is motivated by knowledge and power.

He would likely focus on the manipulation of members of rival and allied houses.

Were any of you thinking of bringing in new characters? What roles were you thinking to pursue?

Male Half-Feraweni Rogue

The thought hadn't crossed my mind. I like Anga too much.

As for a role, thinking of a dirty dealer, one who sticks to the vicious underbelly of urban politicking. Wherever there's money changing hands and knives entering backs, that's where I think he'd be.

Male Human Fighter

Character Idea

An up and coming lord who's father recently passed. With little warning and being a tad young, the newly appointed noble must gain his place among the rest of his kind. Nobility is inherited, but respect from the highborn must be earned.

Group Questions-
(Anga) Were you planning on making Anga apart of the house?
(Wraith) What were you thinking? New Char or Wraith.adv
(Thaegrin) Love it.

If we already have 2 ppl in the house, I could gladly play a body guard.

Male Human Fighter

(DSP)Can I do 25pt buy I hate hate the rolling. I think are last chars were 25?

Male Human 4 Caviler, 3 Fighter

Check this char out, Rdog. Might Change a feat... possibly.

Male Human 4 Caviler, 3 Fighter

Think my Char is finished.
I did my char 25pt buy (figured it would match the other chars)
I did my Cohort as 20pt buy (figured that would be average)

Basically, A mounted-combat similar to the previous character in this game. With a large focus on having a lot of medium skills(+10). It should be noted that Jathus has Perception, Sense Motive, Bluff, Appraise, Diplomacy, Handle Animal, Intimidate, and Survival. Special abilities: Track and Wild Empathy. The Whole point was to allow the freedom of character creation to the party.

Should I generate a background?

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

What's the importance of Quick Draw with a bow? Can someone explain that to me? Since you can draw while moving? What's the pros and cons?

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

NVM, Josh pointed out it allows me to Flurry.

Male Human 4 Caviler, 3 Fighter

Quick draw the bow as a free then full round attack?

Shadow Lodge

The bow can already reload as a free action. As a bowman, the only upside to quickdraw is that you can drop your bow for free and draw a melee weapon for free as needed. However, you are a monk so there is no need.

Josh, mounted combat is not going to be very feasible. you should probaby reconsider. Also, I get to make cohorts from the leadership feats as they are real people who effect the story and not just numbers.

Anga, Thaegrin, good on ya.

Male Human 4 Caviler, 3 Fighter

Mounted Combat is never really feasible in most games, I'll hafta deal with being underpowered in confined spaces.

My character would be looking for a bodyguard. I would like to propose that you allow me to keep the cohort and I will give you a great background.

Either way, my char is pretty much set. What would be our next step to continue this game.

Shadow Lodge

Your current Cohort is a horse...

Male Human 4 Caviler, 3 Fighter

Ya I deleted the cohort from the page. I threw it back up for now. Let me know what you want.

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

An even better scenario to be a Faceless man! Excellllent. With a bow.

Male Feraweni Wizard

So as of now, we have a knightly noble, a house wizard (or soon to be), and two assassins? Am I understanding this correctly? Are we consensus?

DSP, I'm not sure what you have in mind for this group. Are we going to be travelling around together, doing stuff in the name of the house? Or are we filling a house offices and working independently? Little bit of both? I ask this because of REASONS.

Shadow Lodge

You will work for a particular house at first. What you do after that (run the house, start your own, burn eveything, etc.) is up to you...

Male Tiefling Zen Archer Monk

I could technically work as a bodyguard? Areo Hotah style? Just with a bow? I'm not worried about being sneaky sneak.
