You stand before the city of Haluccia, a grand city, surrounded entirely by large stone walls. People mill about, farmers and traders of all races. Young children laugh and play while their older siblings help sell their parents' goods. You can see people lining up by the gates to enter the city. Four tough looking guards stand outside, allowing people entry. From where you are, you can't see much past the large, sturdy gates into the city.
Urg Hits-Burning-Stuff |
The large half orc tromping down the streets would remind some of a disgruntled bull, roaring for destruction and anger. Some wise men, seeing past the brutish exterior, would say the monster was hiding an inner pain and suffering, and was doing his best to deal with it. For those rare people in the crowd who have had dealings with orcs, his body language was clear.
Urg is enjoying himself. He looks around, satisfied at what he sees. "Urg like place!" He bellows, the volume of his voice turning heads, "Big city!" He explains to anyone who will come within arm's reach. Which is to say, he didn't talk to anyone.
No-one ever find out Urg is the bad guy! He thinks deviously as he tromps towards the city's gate. He is unassuming. He turns around and yells out, "Urg is good guy! All good and happy thoughts! He love being good!" So devious.
Needless to say, Urg is not devious. He tromps toward the city gate, and stands in front of the guards, eyeing their armour with admiration.
Urg Hits-Burning-Stuff |
Very polite. Urg like them. Urg thinks. He takes a deep breath, and steps forwards, "URG WANT TO GO TO BIG CITY!" He bellows, "URG IS GOOD NICE ORC! NO DEAL WITH DEVIL OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT! LET URG IN PLEASE?!"

The guards quickly agree that there's no point in keeping this wonderful Half-Orc outside the city walls, and the allow Urg to pass. Once through the gates, the city becomes even more magnificent. White stone and marble, cobbled streets and people of all sorts interacting happily. In the distance, surrounded by another large wall, there is a beautiful white castle. There are also many guards walking around. The city is quite large and it looks easy to get lost.

Urg wanders in without a care in the world, humming happily at this gorgeous place. He decides to take a wander, and immediately goes off the main street through an alley in an attempt to find a place people might live in.
ImpoliteCanadian |
The alley Urg takes is quiet compared to the hustle and bustle of the main streets. Clothes lines hang a few stories above between the white buildings. Water trickles down into a small drain. After many twists and turns Urg exits the alley into a small garden, hidden away from the rest of the city. In the centre of the garden there's a beautiful fountain with crystal clear water. Koi fish swim about, and a cat sits on the edge, watching the fish. A pedestal sits in front of the fountain, with an ancient book on it. The sounds of the city are lost here.

"Book!" Urg runs over in excitement and picks the book up, looking it over. He notices the small outline, and runs over. Secret? Pulses dully through the fog of his thoughts, and he pushes on the crack.
ImpoliteCanadian |
On closer inspection, the book appears to be written in another language. The first page has strange symbols on it, with common explanations beside it. This is all Urg can read.
The outline on the ground has a small symbol on it, one that seems to resemble something from the book. There also appears to be a small button.

I will send you the symbol that's on the ground over Facebook
Rufgar the Lost |
More cackling can be heard.
"Who me, who you, who we? Check the walls, they show the key! A puzzle lost, the key is here! "
From behind the barrels a very old man appears, walking almost in a crouch. His skin is leathery with age, pale from being underground. Rags cover his body and many odd charms hang from him. He speaks in an old cracking voice, with a song song tune. He is very, quite clearly, absolutely insane. He throws his head back and laughs again.
Rufgar the Lost |
More cackling. And some coughing.
"The walls are the key!
He walks a slow circle around Urg, giggling to himself.
"I am lost, but you, you are also lost! Together we are.... still lost." The old man stops, looking puzzled. He scratches his head for a moment, then with surprising speed, runs out if the room, into a hallway hidden by crates.
The last thing you hear him say is an echoey call.
"The book is the key! The walls are only hints! Follow the walls!" His cackling echoes, and fades away.
Urg Hits-Burning-Stuff |
In a flash of inspiration, Urg takes out the book and compares the symbols. "Mon-ster l-air. D-d-dang-er near-by. Danger?" He looks around in confusion. "Thanks walls!" He says cheerfully. He pulls out his sword, and casts a pair of spells on himself. A thin sheath of ice covers his body, making him resistant to damage. He then moves on, down the passage.
ImpoliteCanadian |
The passage goes on for a while in the dark, before opening up into a large room. The room has high ceilings, like that of a palace. A broken chandelier rests in the middle of the room. Broken chairs and long tables fill the space. There a shiny valuables on the ground. The walls stretch to be 50ft wide and 100ft long. There's a large door on the other side of the room, and two smaller ones on each side wall, near the front and back of the room.
ImpoliteCanadian |
As he approaches the chandelier, screeching breaks the silence and five goblins jump out at Urg from the chandelier. Three of the goblins are terribly uncoordinated and do next to nothing. The fourth hits Urg in the leg, while the fifth leaps from the chandelier, smashing Urg in the face with its morningstar.
Urg takes 11 damage, but regains 5 temporary hit points. He's at 23 HP, with five temporary hit points. Goblins 1 and 3 are dead. I had better have done all of that correctly....
Urg Hits-Burning-Stuff |
Urg bellows, and the ice reaches out, freezing up two of the goblins solid. "Stupid goblins! I hurt you!" He swings his sword, and it blazes with fire, cutting into one of the creatures still standing. If he connects, a blaze of fire reaches out and slams into another one.
Casting the cantrip greenflame blade. Make an attack, and if the attack hits, a secondary target takes 2 damage.

On a hit, one of the other goblins also takes 2 damage.
Urg Hits-Burning-Stuff |
Urg slices at the goblin that ran off, killing it quickly and then makes another fiery attack on the two others, slicing into one and burning the other.

Urg finds gems, gold pieces, and even a few pieces of the crystal chandelier that look like they might be worth something.
Add to loot: 2 azurite(10gp each), a cracked tiger eye(8gp), 2 jaspers(50gp each), 1 moonstone(50gp), 1 citrine(50gp), 1 slightly chipped onyx(35gp), 1 onyx(50gp), 1 bloodstone and 1 aquamarine(100gp). He also finds 19cp, 63sp and 37gp. He picks up 12 chandelier pieces, worth between 5gp-15gp depending on the quality.
ImpoliteCanadian |
The walls on either side of the room show no strange marks or symbols. Just grey stone. Then, beside the large door oppsosite where Urg entered, there's are two symbol that Urg realizes matches the "hidden cache" symbol and the "Go this way" symbol.
In the picture I sent you of the book, just substitute the word Harper for Hunter. I forgot to add that when I sent it to you!
