>_<, I think because it is a template, i'd be like the werewolf/(agronian/khajiit) combo - makes no sense, but hey, it works. Weretiger could be good, then i'd still only be a neutral character

Just thinking, if the Charnel Lord is trapped in the pit, could we not kill it with burning oil or similar? Anyone actually got any oil? Or any idea if this freaking pyramid has any airflow - would be sad to die of inhalation burns…
So, anyone else want to vote - temple, tailspikes or werewolf?

map.
The room shapes are not accurate and the sizes are not to scale. It only includes the four rooms you have visited and passages leading out that you have noticed (at least one of the rooms has other passages not on the map that you haven't found yet:) ).
Mundarion |
Mundarion replies, "We've decided to go exploring and see as much of the pyramid as we can. Though depending on how things work out we may end up going back and forth through here several more times. Hopefully we're not disturbing you too much."

De'Arv'Ki Proceeds to climb onto the roof above the doorway and inspect it from above

On the other side is a wooden staircase. From listening from the bottom, you cannot hear anything at the top.
...
When you reach the top of the stairs, you can see the tallest rooms you have encountered so far--the ceiling is 100 feet high. The walls are made of marble. On the north end is a giant door made of mahogany, nearly 30 feet wide. To the east, there is a door that appears covered in ice.
Curiously, the room appears unoccupied.
"Ah, I remember this place." Vyrellis pipes up. "I believe that a number of powerful magic weapons are stored in the chamber beyond. Look to the door covered in frost. Beyond are several items that might prove useful to you. Beware, there might be an icy guardians that awaits you.”

Are you quite sure? What's behind door number three?
I point out the hidden door.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Yessai marvels at the architecture, the yawning roof held up by wondrous engineering. She eyes the mahogany portal with undisguised wonder.
Say what you like about the Tiefling's intentions, or crimes, this place is truly remarkable…
The icy door causes her to frown slightly. Ice beings. She shivers slightly in anticipation, not fond of the discomfort of frost and chill...
Yess also spies the hidden door. While Mundarion inspects it Yess moves to guard the icy door, while keeping an eye on the mahogany door. Yess addresses the head quietly:
"Vyrellis - is yonder large wooden door [indicates mahogany door to the north with a jut of her chin] the access to the temple? Or is there more passageways? Do you know anything further about the current inhabitants?"
Deranged_Maniac_Ben |
"That door leads to the Grand Staircase, which goes to the second floor of the Pyramid. As to the location of the Sundered Temple, I could not say. It is a relatively recent creation in the Pyramid, and I mostly know of the oldest of the Pyramid's features. If by the temple you meant the Hermitage of Knowledge, then no, that is somewhere else."

"Of courrrrse, that which... is hidden is usually... prrrrotected. Perrrrhaps you should be... the firrrrst thrrrrough, Serrrrah Gemhearrrrt..."
EDIT: Serah is a term from dragon age (series), if you are unsure. Dragon age wiki: Free marches. Its near the bottom.

Yess nods to Dee, and takes the proffered flask. She keeps an eye on the mahogany door and the icy door while the others are investigating the secret chamber.

Four stone monoliths are arranged around this large chamber.
Great plumes of energy stream out of the monoliths and toward
a central wall of arcane force. In the middle of the force field a headless corpse.
Vyrellis gasps as you take in the scene.
“My physical form is trapped within this arcane prison,”
Vyrellis says. “The time has come. Free my body, and together we
can escape this horrid place.”

Mundarion casts "Detect Magic".
ASF Check: 1d100 ⇒ 73
Spellcraft Check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Mundarion says, "The magic surrounding the body is a form of abjuration magic. I need to study it more to learn more about it. If it is possible to break through it a lot of time will likely be needed."
Deranged_Maniac_Ben |
Mundarion attempts to weaken the forcefield. It shimmers a little but remains steady. The glow of the monoliths brightens somewhat, and failing to destroy them may trigger something, possibly a trap.
Mundarion also notices that the protective aura surrounding the corpse does not encase the monoliths which are providing the force field.
Just on those little things you remember out of the blue, what happened to our dragonborn friends... O.o
You don't know:) Not yet, anyways...
Rest assured I haven't forgotten about them.Deranged_Maniac_Ben |
The monoliths glow brighter.
There is also a strong transmutation aura inside the force field.
Mundarion |
Mundarion says, "There is some sort of magic trap that I'm much more likely to trigger than disarm. The best bet so far looks like it might be to just pound the stuffing out of the monoliths. Gemheart, you've been itching for some action for a while. Looks like this could be an opportunity for you."
