And the Winner is...

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

And the winner of the Gish re-branding contest is:

Stabra-cadabra!

I, for one, plan to commence using this word for all my fighter/magic-user needs. It is certainly no more ridiculous than its predecessor. It's just silly enough to catch on, and the meaning is obvious.

Will you join me in my PR battle? Will you join the ranks of the Stabra-cadabras?

I don't like it but at lest it's not as silly sounding and have other non gaming meanings unlike the other word.

For a catch all term I like something more like battlecaster or warcaster or heck arcane warrior myself.

Maybe it was my song that pushed it out in front? I knew it was catchy!

Warcanist

I've never actually made a Stabracadabra. Perhaps now I shall...

I must bother the Postmonster about implementing a forum feature that automatically replaces all other FTR/WIZ slang terms with Stabracadabra.

Actually the Stabracadabra sounds evil enough to be used in some of my fun games... and what about Rogue/Arcanist? Backstabracadabra? :)

I think the winner was MAGUS acording to some spoilers from Paizocon

Well that's retarded. That was one of the worst ones.

Nice, if not intentional, nod to fans of Chrono Trigger :)

isn't it supposed to be stabracadabrist? Stabracadabra! is what the stabracadabrist yells out when he makes a full attack and casts chain-lightning at the same time ;D

That is what they say

Yeah, picking what amounts to a synonym for "wizard" to be your new word for "fighter/wizard" makes absolutely no sense at all to me, but I guess it's better than "scholar" and the synonyms for that word that were floating around.

If it's true, at least they picked THAT synonym for "wizard" instead of "warlock", which is also a synonym for "wizard". I have no idea why so many people were supporting that idea.

I wasn't a big fan of Warlock, but it grew on me. Mainly because a friend of mine has that connotation in his game. Witches are true casters, and warlocks are males who don't have the ability to cast true magic but instead use the power source to fuel combat ability.

Hey, Sebastian.....
how do I trademark stuff?

Apparently the Magus will be getting the full playtest treatment here on the boards

Liberty's Edge
