Grand Lodge

Not so familiar with lightning elementals, but I do like earth elementals. They're 2nd level so you get 1d3 of them. They're slow moving with good AC and are hard hitting.

Lightning elementals are fast little buggers and can be there in one round, but I take your point about AC and damage output....

And of course, elementals have the benefit of being immune to poison. :D

I don't know anything about lightning elementals but I've seen earth elementals used to great effect. Either way, I'd summon something melee-oriented in behind them if possible.

I'm glad we got past Mega Ant and got to Asta, that would have been really bad if she got ganked by ants. ( >.<);

But I also wish I was close to my Paladin Bond Level. I mean, could I take a Ant as a bonded steed. XD I could dress a horse up as one stat wise but still. How cool would it be to have a Knight Ant as a Paladin's horse?

I like the visual. Can use it for rescuing trapped miners, it can haul Heavy loads and it's just plain neat. XD lol

Guys, I've held off on this long enough, but no one is listening and/or paying attention. Focus down on wounded enemies whenever possible. Five wounded ants is five attacks and poison saves. We are making this much harder on ourselves then it needs to be by spreading the damage around instead of focusing!

At a minimum with the hits we've had, the yellow and cyan should be dead by now.

That earth elemental should be behind the ants to help with flanking bonuses.

I thought about placing the elemental more stratigcally but instead placed it to make it harder for the ants to get to Asta. Also, Strawberry's going to retreat if she fails another poison save. Our defense line could have had a hole in it.

I thought her SR was in that stat line. I'll correct that.

EXACTLY why we have to down wounded enemies. If yellow/cyan are dead, this isn't as much of a problem.

On second thought, my former response was bad. Anyone who read that, I apologize. But I hate blanket posts like this. So f+@# it, going to bed. I'm playing in character, we've had a ton of bad rolls and all I expect out of anyone is to roleplay their character. Nothing less.

Was their a sloppy moment with Mega Ant? Yep, cost me two+ rounds of heartache. But I buffed, so no real loss. Also i'm gonna take care of that after the fight. Not here. Besides that, play your character and lets have fun.

Yeah, that's not helping any of us. If anyone is not happy with my comments, just say so, but tactics are my specialty. Sorry, years in the army as a small unit leader in combat makes me sensitive to that. Seraph is our only real tank, we have to support her (and SBD) to the best our ability. That means reducing attacks on them/supporting with flanks/etc when we can.

Using smart tactics does not preclude playing in character by ANY stretch of the imagination, and I am no way stating that anyone hasn't been doing their job or should stop being in character.

I'm trying to win this, and not let anyone die. It's a cleric thing...

I don't disagree with having tactics, we were sloppy. Totally agree. Just felt like we were nit picking but i understand more clearly now.

I am also trying to roleplay her wisdom 8. So she isn't quick on uptake in combat and she tends to have a very naive view of things outside of combat. Hence why she didn't foresee this coming betrayal or the weakness in the treaty. She targeted the biggest threat and this round is adjusting. But our strike at the entrance was pretty straight forward. Just a step at a time with me/her.

So Cyan is down. Thankfully.

With your hit Doran maybe yellow too. Not sure.

Seeing this post i understand more clearly. I will try and be better about it and appreciate your guys support always.

I built a very niche character but she does the taking a beating, dishing out damage and resisting everything that comes at her hopefully quite well.

But i agree that SBD needs the rest of the ants off her, which hopefully Seraph can do this round.

Thank you for providing a flanking bonus on the Knight Ant, totally spaced it for a moment before looking at the battle map. But it's helping my strikes.

GM Glyn So I don't know if you are seeing my Swf action Lay on hands. but I thought I'd placed it here. I am updating my HP each round.

I've healed around 8 hp and taken 16 dmg, If I am following the numbers right anyway. :)

Just FYI and holy cow! The Mites and us are in a pitched battle!

For planning purposes, here are the spells I have left:
0 - Detect magic, Ray of frost, Stabilize, Touch of fatigue
1 - Ear-piercing scream, Summon monster I
2 - Haunting mists, Umbral weapon

And of course I can still give people Healing Hexes.

for you? I'd usually cast it for Seraph, but it's a mite crowded. Haaa.... puns.
