Hmm... Could I pay 1000 credits and have had a Tech Specialist modify a pair of combat gloves with either the Improved Accuracy or the Improved Damage weapon trait (Starships of the Galaxy)?
haruhiko88: It all sounds pretty good to me regarding the partnership and maybe friendship between your character and mine. :-) By the way, now that your guy is a gal, does the name change?
Sure. That's fine. Don't forget the equipment modification rules in Scum & Villainy, too, as well as gear templates in KOTOR.
Storyteller Shadow |
I will have my reworked submission up for Tuesday.
Getting late tomorrow and tomorrow will be a long work day for me.
F. Castor |
Oops... My bad. Market price for modifications is doubled, so it would cost 2000 credits. So I am thinking of putting the cloaked upgrade on the combat gloves so that they look like normal black gloves.
As for modifications, once I have the money, I will seek out someone with the Tech Specialist and Superior Tech feats and pay him to modify them with the Superior Damage advanced weapon trait (Scum and Villainy).
As for templates, the only ones that seem to make sense are the Cortosis Weave and Prototype ones. I do not see much use for the former on a pair of gloves unless I am missing something, while the latter causes the gloves to malfunction and stop working until repaired on a roll of 1, 2, 3 and 4, as well as treat those rolls like a natural 1.
GM Phntm888 |
Nah, don't worry about licensing fees.
Something I realized I forgot to mention, the Jedi class gets Use the Force as a bonus trained skill.
I think you have an extra feat, and I'm pretty sure your Gather Info isn't supposed to be +21.
Equipment: Lightsaber (Obviously), utility belt, Sith robes, 1300 credits.

Internet might be spotty for a few days, I just got into a new apartment, and just set up the internet first because I am an adult and have adult priorities. Not the bed, not the desk for the computer, the internet goes first... Yeah.
Why sleep when you can sit up on the internet all night? Priorities seem fine to me! :-)

DM to get the Lightsaber Form Talent Tree I need to be a Jedi Knight correct? Seems to put the Sith at a disadvantage...
It would seem so. The Sith equivalent of the Jedi Knight, the Sith Apprentice, has the Sith talent tree in place of the Lightsaber Forms one. I am guessing it is because the Sith tend to be a bit more sorcerous-y than the Jedi. There is also the Sith Alchemy talent tree in the Jedi Academy Training Manual.
Also, I think your Fortitude should be 12 (10 +1 from Jedi +1 from level +0 from Con) and your Reflex 15 (10 +1 from Jedi +1 from level +3 from Dex). Your Will appears correct at 14 (10 +1 from Jedi +1 from level +2 from Wisdom).
More importantly however, you seem to have used only 30 points from the 32-point buy.
Str 8 -> 10: 2 points
Dex 8 -> 14: 6 points (+2 from human bonus to get to 16)
Con 8 -> 10: 2 points
Int 8 -> 10: 2 points
Wis 8 -> 15: 8 points
Cha 8 -> 16: 10 points
Depending on where you put those points, other stats may need a bit of changing. My suggestion? Either getting your Con to 12 (hit points, Fortitude, Threshold, Second Wind, Endurance skill) or your Wis to 16 (Will, Perception/Survival/Treat Injury skills, number of Force powers from the Force Training feat).
Is there a Sith Inquisitor tree? I know that once I get apprentice I can go sith sorcery but I'd like to do almost the opposite of the sentinel.
There is the Imperial Inquisitor talent tree in The Force Unleashed, but it is for the Force Adept PrC.
Storyteller Shadow |
Thanks Castor, you are correct, I did only use 30 points, long day at work yesterday so I was a bit off when updating last night.
Will have to think if I want to do Wisdom or Constitution, will have the character further updated tonight.
GM Phntm888 |
Sith also get access to the Duelist talent tree from the Jedi Knight prestige class, IIRC.
There is a talent for the Sith talent tree in Threats of the Galaxy called Stolen Form that allows you to take a lightsaber form talent. It is available for your use when you get there.
Storyteller, may I recommend that Weapon Finesse be an investment sooner rather than later? Better chance of hitting. Put the points in Constitution. The Extra HP is far more useful.
Donavaan, look over the talent tree and see how much of it fits your character. It might not be what you're looking for.

Cipher 17, your stats look good. Errata makes stun damage = to regular damage.
@Castor, looks good.
Haruhiko, you would not, but you'd have stiff competition, and the already established guilds might not take it kindly. Forming a small team, however, would be fine.

Just a wee change as far as my guy's name is concerned, seeing as how there already is someone with a name similar to the one I gave him (Vessani and Vesanis Cole).
So, let us go with Venaris Cole, or Ven for short. Amusingly enough, after coming up with it, I googled it. It appears to be the second-person singular present active indicative of venor, which is Latin for "I hunt, pursue". What do you know... :-P

Actually, what I wanted to check was the Sith Lord prestige class requirements. Apparently, it does not require anything from the Sith Apprentice prestige class. Thus, I see no reason why your character can't take levels in Force Adept before going Sith Lord as opposed to Sith Apprentice. The talent tree was always acceptable.
Edit: Everything looks good statewide, Iliquoi. Which Sith Lord did you want for your master?
Koro, same question for you. If no preference, that's fine.
Iliquoi |
The telepath lady.
I might mix FA with Sith Apprentice levels then because only a few of the Inquisitor talents looks good. Maybe I will look at stuff from the Legacy book to see if there are any Inquisitors built in there. I dont remember seeing any in JATM.

It was not that he was not interested in his people's way of life and the dedication to combat that defined it, but it was that he was equally, if not more so, interested in how things worked. And this curiosity of his went hand in hand with his aptitude for things mechanical and technological. As far as he was concerned, he did not literally have to fight every single person he met to get to know them better and fully, as other Echani more or less seemed to believe. This was not a point of view driven by compassion so much as it was one forged by simply finding the notion, well, weird really. And silly. And quite possibly idiotic. And the little human blood in his ancestry on his father's side might have had something to do with it, or at least so he liked to think. A private little joke, if you will, one that made him smile.
Thus, the time came when he finally had had enough of his planet and the constant training to be better at hand to hand combat. Not that he was not interested in it and in becoming better at it, but it was not all he was interested in. So, he left, simple as that. He did not have much to keep him there, no siblings or family any more, no real friends either, as most did not really want to get to know one who was not equally interested in getting to know them as well, meaning that he preferred actual conversation to fisticuffs. All in all, an easy enough decision to make, leaving Eshan and traveling the galaxy.
At first he took odd jobs here and there, mostly having to do with mechanics and repairs and computers and, on less frequent occasions, work that involved guarding or fighting. Those last ones were a little... boring, but they did pay the rent as well, so to speak. And eventually a guy who knew a guy who quite possibly knew some other guy -guys tend to know guys it would seem- got him into bounty hunting. To Venaris, it was just another way to make a living at first, but eventually he came to enjoy the challenges that came with trying to find and eventually capture or... dispose of a target. And it did require his using computers and technology in general to do so, so win-win.
It was also a way to make friends it seemed, or a friend anyway. A Mandalorian woman called Kordin III of all things, especially considering the usual relationship between her people and the Echani involved some rather colorful adjectives and nouns and more than a little sneering exchanged between the two. But as it came to be, going after the same target and spending some time trying to sabotage each other before finally relenting and working together to bring said target down makes for a wonderful way to start a successful partnership and eventually friendship. Plus, it makes for quite the source of future banter over a couple of drinks or while firing blasters at people trying to kill you.
That was a couple of years or so ago. The meeting, that is, not the banter. The banter is still going on.
Discovery
Rescue
I have left the details of the mission that led to his meeting Kordin and starting to work with her vague as we have not ironed out the details ourselves, but the main gist I would assume is what I am describing (a couple of years ago or three both were after the same target, maybe getting in each other's way while each one was trying to get him, until they finally decided to work together to accomplish their more or less common goal, a fact which led to their being a team ever since).
Iliquoi |
I am fine with what ever destiny the DM wants to pick for me.
I am thinking that his background would be he was detected very early on as being strong in the Force. Before the Jedi could take him to one of their academies the Sith were able to get him and teach him the Dark Side of the Force. He had a natural inclination to the Force and the Dark Side drew him in. He is training to use his skills to become an Inquisitor and hunt renegade members of his order and those who would corrupt the purity of the Dark Side of the Force.
Does this work?
F. Castor |
I am not sure what the GM has in store for the two bounty hunters, Venaris and Kordin. So far, I believe they, alongside a third bounty hunter, are to rendezvous with the Inexorable to deliver a carbonite popsicle to the Sith. I am guessing it is there that the partnership between the two bounty hunters (independent contractors) and the Sith and C-17 (agent of the Sith) will begin.
Indubitably merriment and hearty laughs will ensue.
Technically, where the pair and their utility skills are concerned, Venaris is tech support (computers, engineering, repairs, general tech stuff), while Kordin takes care of piloting and first aid and tactics. Combat-wise, while Venaris is capable, he does not actually show it until needed, preferring to take care of mechanics and computers and such and letting Kordin act as the actual muscle and firepower, as Mandalorians are basically awesome at that.
As far as a bodyguard is concerned, I think Kordin is going to be built as a melee tank, at least if I am not mistaken, so basically an actual bodyguard.
Of course, haruhiko88 can interject and correct me or elaborate further.
Iliquoi |
Howe many sithy sith are in the group? I guess we might want to talk about how we are going to work together.
Trevan Darksome |
There are 3 Sith I believe. Work together? Each mission shall have a goal and a leader, we shall follow the Leader, it can be no simpler than that... :-)
haruhiko88 |
As for if I'd be a bodyguard nah, I'm with the other bounty hunter. Venaris and Kordin make up a two man team. One deals with the tech, the other deals with people... with her vibroblade.
Born the daughter of a proud Mandalorian was not going to stop her father from passing on his family name. Kordin Cadera III was raised a proud Mandalorian, almost too proud for some people. She calls it honor.
As many Mandalorians love to get involved with technology, Kordin was more hands on. Sure blaster pistols look nifty, until you run out of energy. One lesson led to the next which led to the next, and eventually it was deemed that Kordin was exceptionally skilled with melee weapons. Not the unarmed fighting styles of many people, but with blades and clubs. Kordin's preferred weapon is a vibrosword wielded in both hands for that extra bit of hurt.
Set off to bounty hunting after she came of age, Kordin was somewhat successful, until she met a rather pesky Echani. After a few weeks of sabotage and trickery, she had had it. Eventually it became apparent that it would be easier to team up to take down a particular bounty. And so the solo bounty hunter became a duo. She can't write home about it since her partner is an Echani, but hey, not everyone's perfect right?
Although I don't think there's anything that says an Echani can't become a Mandalorian, it's a culture thing so I might try and convert Venaris if we ever have to go to Mandalore.

Am I able to take the Dark Side Savant talent if I dont have a DSP of 1 yet?
