Gkirkhan moves up to the wraith-spawn boy, towering over the others. The calm facade begins to slip and a deep growl reverberates off the walls.

Staying at a friends while I pick up hours at my new job, but everything is looking up. Using various public libraries because I can't be here during the day, but it looks like I will be able to post this week -sigh- To that end...

Vertielle is pointedly calm as she quietly recites to herself what appears to be scripture, ducking under the wraith's attack to position herself behind the wraith, with a looming Gkirkhan directly behind Rova. She swings wildly, keeping the hilt of her sword close and her center of balance low, knocking the child into a precarious low-guard. Fortunately for the phantom child, it know little of tactics and is not taken in.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Damn, I really ought to work on that...

Gkirkhan, Rova, remember you BOTH flank with me, as Gkirkhan's reach is over and to the side of Rova.

Zhiden joined the group in the room and was planning on sneaking around the ghost's back to attack with his swords, but decided it was a little too crowded. Instead he took a shot at it from the side of the room.

Brother Spawn may wish he had chosen death instead.

Rova is quite happy the fight is not taking place indoors, as his enlarged form pushes 15' in height..

He is less happy at the incorporeal poke he just took..

Enlarge: -2AC (-1size, -1 for -2dex), +0 to hit (+1 for +2Str, -1 for large size), +1 damage (+2Str, bad round on a 2-hander); Flanking [w/ Vertielle] +2 to hit

With a sense of finality, Gkirkhan brings his hammer down in a powerful two-handed chop that leaves a crater in the dirt. He turns and walks several yards away, his jaw clenched and his eyes like burning pits.

"Come, my hammer wishes to feast on hyur fear."

The half-orc throws his head back, his hat falling to the dusty street as he finally gives full reign to the fury that had been building since they first encountered the child-wraiths.

"DO HYU HEAR ME BROTHER SPAWN? VILL HYU FACE ME OR VILL HY HAFF TO TEAR THIS VILLAGE APART UNTIL HY FIND HYU COWERING IN SOME DARK DANK CORNER?! MY HAMMER HUNGERS FOR HYUR BONES! MY BLADE THIRSTS FOR HYUR BLOOD! COME! COME COWARD AND KNOW FEAR AS MY STEEL RENDS HYUR FLESH AND CRUSHES HYUR BONES!"

His shouts echo across the darkness. They slowly fade until the only sound is the barely restrained snarl that issues with his every breath.

Bring it.

DM Ninja/infinite

Imrijka turns to the group. "You enlarged ones, meet me at town center. I check girl's room. Who come with me?"

As you move to the town square, though, the immediate search of Ellsa's room becomes moot.

Rising from the well in the center of town is a horrific cloud of glowing red eyes and ghostly hornets, a tempest of shadows given form. The buzz of hornets fills the air as does a sickly sweet stench of decay.

Upset no-one seems to do what they say they will, Rova cracks open his last oil of magic weapon, and applies it to the blade. [standard action]

DM Ninja/infinite

OK, to the group: I'm going to cancel/rewrite my last post. My bad, I got caught up in the flow, due to the short timeframe of those buffs. I also appologize to Rova for Imrijka's forgetting to cast Magic Weapon. Your buffs will not last until you reach Brother Spawn, even if I do bring him here rather than let you try to find his hideout. I will repost, starting with the last child-wraith's fall. Note: anyone dieing to this monster becomes a wraith-spawn in 1d4 rounds. I'd recommend healing and planning. Just saying.

OK, reset time:

The last child-wraith falls and Gkirkhan delivers his challenge. Imrijka says to the group. "I go check girl's room. Who come with me?"

By the time you return to Ellsa's home your buffs have worn off. In her room, under her bed, you find a small, flat box containing drawings. She was quite talented. The town is recognizable, as is the beast, drawn in at least two of the pictures. Some of them are labeled, in a childish hand; the ones of the Beast name him 'freind'.

One of the other pictures, however, is rather telling. It shows a field, with a scarecrow on a pole siting on some sort of rise. A boy is standing next to it, pointing at a dark spot near the bottom of the hillock. It is titled 'Maartin found a cave'. In the background, in the far left corner of the picture, is what looks like the church steeple.

"Wow, she was pretty good. Zhiden said, looking at the pictures. "We should take these with us, that she considered the beast her friend can only help." Finally Zhiden looked at the last one, called 'Maartin found a cave'. "This one looks familiar, if that's the steeple, then I think I remember seeing that field, we should check it out."

Zhiden pointed out where he thought the drawing's perspective was, and offered to lead them there. He kept the bow in his hands the entire time.

I thought so, it explains why Imrijka gave Zhiden a weapon he's not very good at: because it's arguably more effective than what he does have. I think ghost touch on my weapons is going to be the next thing Zhiden invests in.

Darn, no massive damage for Gkirkhan. And I guess I get another go at writing him losing it. No harm done, Everyone makes mistakes and it's the GM's prerogative if they want to backtrack to fix one.

DM Ninja/infinite

Imrijka pulls a box from her pack and opens it to reveal six potions.

"I come ready, I thought. Bring 3 cure moderate wounds potions and 3 restore potions. Who need which more?"

Wood points to the three restore.

"All those are not wasted on me. But I plan on being invisible soon. I will drink after the others."

"This one Restore. Take first, then cure potion. You front line, need to be top condition. Gkirkhan, sure you OK?"

She looks around at the rest of the group. "Who else?"

Once everyone is as restored and healed as possible, she says "Zhiden? You think you can find spot? Should go. Light weakens creature. Try find before sundown, then enchant weapons where needed and strike. Bring this monster down! Send to Pharasma for judgement. Anyone else have plan?"

"Ve find dis bastard den ve send et to the deepest pit ov hell."

Male hp 19/36; AC 21/14/19 Level 5 Burglar

"All right," Zhiden said, his enthusiasm apparently dimmed somewhat. He wasn't sure what he though of leading the rest of them, and thus, being the first one to come face to face with Brother Spawn. Then again, with luck someone else would take the lead before battle broke out. He looked out ahead, apparently a little flustered, and then led the way to the field he'd seen in the picture.

When they'd arrived, Zhiden stopped, "I think this is it," He said, looking toward the church steeple to make sure the angle was right. "It looks like the cave in the picture should be around there somewhere." He pointed in the direction the picture had shown the cave.

Feel free to cut me off anywhere in there if you want to have something happen before we get there.

DM Ninja/infinite

You find the cave after a bit of searching. The sickly sweet stench of decay wafts from it, and you hear coming from below, a buzzing sound, like a swarm of hornets.

Imrijka nods, and casts magic weapon on Rova's huge weapon.

"One more." she whispers. "Who else want?"

Gkirkhan moves to the fore with his hammer and his axe in hand. He still moves with the same careful, calm gait as before, but the faint sound of grinding teeth hints at his slipping control. He stops a few steps into the cave and almost whispers to the darkness.

"Come coward. My hammer hungers for hyur bones, and my axe vishes to sup on hyur fear. Come and meet hyur doom."

AC 21b - 11t - 20ff; HP: 44/44; PP: 2/2

Rova digs out a big bundle from Harrowstone..

"Lotsa it's labled, jus' a bit faded."

Hey, GM, you keep a list of that stuff? Anyone else? I recall a lot of cure light/moderate, with a bunch of lesser restores.

DM Ninja/infinite

GM note: Restoration

Half-orc

At the moment I'm not even sure of how much gold Gkirkhan has. I know he hasn't spent any besides some on drinks and food, so maybe 5gp spent since Harrowstone? I do know that Gkirkhan has two magic weapons, so after this if you don't mind, I'll chip in to get Rova a nice big sword that can harm the ghosties.

Wood casts and promptly disappears. He then casts and 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 portals form. When the 3 celestial dogs arrive, Wood's voice says, "let's go"

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

Three potions and one scroll of lesser restoration in inventory.

Who's best with a bow? These arrows are a little large for Hiben, I think, but they'd let him use his accuracy.

Vertielle drinks her potion of detect undead once we are out of the town, sweeping from side to side in the thick grass. She'd rather not be surprised. She keeps her bow knocked with one of the ghost touch arrows, and her sword loose in its scabbard. A scroll is tucked into her belt within easy reach. She tosses Gkirkhan a potion, a hazy green color in a small crystal vial. On it is a single word, scrawled with spiky black ink across a faded parchment label: "Brummer"

Drink that when you see him coming... and be ready to run him down. He will know fear.

Orcish:
Closest translation to "Behemoth" I could think of xD

I fully expect Gkirkhan to just EAT the potion bottle.

Rather than risk overcrowding the cave with giants, Wood sends his dogs into the cave racing after Brother Spawn. He grabs the warden's badge and intones calmly: "Remember Harrowstone!" as he follows the dogs inside.

DM Ninja/infinite

The cave is but 10' in diameter, a rough circle that may once have been the den of some animal. Now it is a place of horror as you see four small skeletal forms and hovering over them, powerful in the darkness of the cave, is a horrific cloud of glowing red eyes and ghostly hornets, a tempest of shadows given form. Brother Spawn wastes no time or effort on words or taunts.

Wood sends his celestial creatures to pack behind the horrid creature and attack him, they are attempting to smite the evil creature.

Wood casts Ectoplasmic web DC 17 reflex

Web:

School conjuration (creation); Level sorcerer/wizard 2

Casting Time 1 standard action

Components V, S, M (spider web)

Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)

Effect webs in a 20-ft.-radius spread

Duration 10 min./level (D)

Saving Throw Reflex negates; see text; Spell Resistance no

Web creates a many-layered mass of strong, sticky strands. These strands trap those caught in them. The strands are similar to spiderwebs but far larger and tougher. These masses must be anchored to two or more solid and diametrically opposed points or else the web collapses upon itself and disappears. Creatures caught within a web become grappled by the sticky fibers. Attacking a creature in a web doesn't cause you to become grappled.

Anyone in the effect's area when the spell is cast must make a Reflex save. If this save succeeds, the creature is inside the web but is otherwise unaffected. If the save fails, the creature gains the grappled condition, but can break free by making a combat maneuver check or Escape Artist check as a standard action against the DC of this spell. The entire area of the web is considered difficult terrain. Anyone moving through the webs must make a combat maneuver check or Escape Artist check as part of their move action, with a DC equal to the spell's DC. Creatures that fail lose their movement and become grappled in the first square of webbing that they enter.

If you have at least 5 feet of web between you and an opponent, it provides cover. If you have at least 20 feet of web between you, it provides total cover.

The strands of a web spell are flammable. A flaming weapon can slash them away as easily as a hand brushes away cobwebs. Any fire can set the webs alight and burn away one 5-foot square in 1 round. All creatures within flaming webs take 2d4 points of fire damage from the flames.

Web can be made permanent with a permanency spell. A permanent web that is damaged (but not destroyed) regrows in 10 minutes.
