@Wood: You think the Piper's destroyed. Perception check

Things that seemed to work on/for Vertielle: the Protection from Evil from the wand and Evangl;ine's channeling. In both cases the chains loosened and went misty for a moment.

Here's me "free" save when Wood cast the spell to begin with.
Free Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 Damn, no damage, but it's a free save, so no repercussions.
And here's the will save on my turn
Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4

@Vertielle & Wood: the only effect of Protection from Evil on this Haunt is to do it 1d6 damage, which I already rolled. Still, you do manage to save successfully.

Vertielle continues to writhe as the chains seem to tighten again before they shatter and her eyes pop open.

Yep, he's particularly vicious. All based of DC15 will saves, and he only kicks in if you're hit in combat. Affects either the first person to touch the remains or the last person to leave the room.

Luckily if it were one of you guys hexed, the one with the sense to haunt siphon would be on the OUTSIDE. Would have double wammied The Piper, too, I think its a 30' burst.

As you recon er from the dual fight you all hear the familiar sound of leathery wings, though they seem louder than usual.

As you look to the northern end of the corridor you see a single stirge the size of a halfling fly into view.

T4b: You find this is a short hallway ending in a reinforced iron and wood door, still quite stout and locked. You think it leads to the blacony where you fought the scythe.

T4a: This is a sturdy wood and iron stairwell leading up to a trapdoor. The trapdoor seems jammed.

T3: Yet another latrine.

T2: Back to the dining facility.

T5: The kitchen and pantry. The kitchen contains the remains of cooking equipment, long picked clean by vermin. The pantry door hangs askew and you hear skittering beyond it.

Balcony: This is the balcony overlooking the pond. It's overgrown with vines and weeds and is partially collapsed near the dining area, you'll need a Jump or Acrobatics check to reach it.


"Well, are we ready to head back and refit for now?"

I'm ready for that and a good meal, she says, as she gets a running start off the edge towards the balcony. Over empty space, Vertielle tumbles once before landing lightly on her feet.

Vertielle lets the plants wiggle around on their balcony and starts off for horrorstone. Err... Harrowstone.


"Gkirkan, can you ring of feather fall take two?"
Maybe Gkirkan and I do a Butch and Sundance or a male Thelma and Louise for the younger folks.

You can get everyone down with a ring of feather fall; just mage hand it back up, or toss it if nothing else.


Everyone gets down with no issues.

You head back to Ravengro and Kendra's home. he's pleased to see you.

"Is everyone OK? Father Grimburrow has offered free healing if you need it. Anya will draw baths for you so you can clean up before dinner."

She pauses and picks up a letter from the sideboard. "Oh, Gkirkhan, this was in the mail basket today.'

She hands it to him.

Gkirkhan tears open the letter, then pales beneath his hat.

"Hy must go. Shometing haz come up. Hy vill return onze hy settle dis."

He removes all the borrowed items, keeping only the hammer Professor Lorrimor left him.

Kendra says "I hope it's easy to 'settle', Gkirkhan. Don't worry about it. Just be careful, OK? And, at least, stay for dinner and healing of you need it."

Gkirkhan nods and goes upstairs to pack.

A channel or two probably settles most of us, so I'm topping off my hp.
Vertielle spends her time before dinner adding to her own journal, fleshing out the new floormap of Harrowstone Prison, and adding an entry for giant stirges amongst the "insect gigantisism as related to remnant magicks amongst ruins" chapter.
Afterwards, she spends much of dinner more silent than the grave, responding curtly when addressed.
Having helped clear the table, Vertielle spends the rest of the evening learning the finer points of spellscribing from Wood before saying goodbye to Gkirkhan and turning in early.


Wood explains, "I would like to scribe some scrolls of the spell magic missile, they seem to be the best means of affecting noncorporeal undead."

Gkirkhan leaves after breakfast next moring, after all goodbys are said he assures everyone "Hy'll be back"


Assuming Que is the scout, Wood gives her the ring and ioun stone.

I wanted to clean the memorial as well with some alcohol, perhaps, or alchemist's acid, and then see how she was feeling, so I guess we'd pass her. Sorry I've been insanely busy trying to replace my car, I'll be on and off for a few weeks. Feel free to roll for me and I'll post when I can.


GM can you post the spells I was offered to share?
I know one source included Kendra. Another came from trust in town I think.
Copying Lvl 2 spells for 40gp may be wise.

As a side note, after checking the prisoner's items you realize tha the pipe is now clean and polished, as if new, and the holy symbols are no longer tangled.
