DM Ninja/infinite

Ok, group, I think we've lost Kurik. He hasn't posted as Kurik since Feb 14 and not as soberdwarf since Jan 24th.

Do you want me to contact one of the three alternates or to continue with just who we have now?

To refresh your memory the alternates were:

Becket; with a cleric/front-line fighter
Dirty Moses; with a Magus
Waltz; with a summoner

Let me know by tonight if you want an additional person and, if so, who you'd prefer.

If you choose to add someone, I'll contact them once the choice is made.

Becket for me -- granting him a divine weapon of a heavy mace doesn't sound too bad. You can never have too many clerics.

I plan on concentrating on summoning--so the summoner may not be needed.

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

summoners in my book are broken.

And I would like to keep the party as is,
especially if there is a player doing summoning.

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

I think we're probably alright, actually. The size of the group and the pace of the game is quite good, and we're pretty balanced at that. Anyone you bring in is gonna step on someone's toes, except MAYBE the magus. I say stay.

I am committed for the duration. The pace and game are great. It is one less person to divide XP with!

Identify, what a useful spell. DOOH.

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

I'll pitch in my mediocre means to purchase a scroll so you can add it to your book. Just don't botch, lolol...

Mediocre means--I got 100pp from the professor--we are rich.

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

we don't have the 100pp yet.

DM Ninja/infinite

OK, so far it seems everyone is happy with the current group. I'll wait until Gkirkhan & Que respond to confirm, but it looks like no new PCs.

I like the group as is as well. I think I'd enjoy playing with all of you face to face.

And yes, you only get the money when you deliver the books, 30 days after the reading of the will. Once Harrowstone is finished, I'll jump to the end of the time-period, unless any of you want to do stuff in the town.

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

So pretty much all I've got is whatever I can scrounge from selling my armor, but I'll pitch in to the scroll fund for identify and even knock.

Summoners broken 100% agree-an eidolon that has the melee power of a fighter and a support character to cast on top of that. Sometimes I wonder who playtests these things. Maybe the word is out and all the baddies know if they kill the guy with the funny rune on his forehead the eidolon goes away so they all rush him.

We still get to visit the forbidding prison don't we?

DM Ninja/infinite

Of course you can visit the forbidding prison...very soon.

heheheheheheh

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

why does that scare me?

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

RAW for potions is 15+spell level for perception. With two 17s, an 18, a 24 and 25... I figured they're unusual or high level.
As for spellcraft, different RAW. 15+caster level, much more difficult. As for the int check... 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Because when a GM laughs like that, it's almost never a good sign for the party.

I'm fine with adding a new character or just going with what we got.

For my players it's not a laugh that scares them, it's my grin.

Female Human Ninja 3

I am fine with continuing with the group as is, if we really need a fifth player, I would vote for the Magus.

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

Don't you mean 6th player

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

GM you can remove players from active status by going into the campaign tab click edit and at the bottom are check boxes next to player and character names, uncheck them to put them into inactive status,
There is also a NPC checkbox to make the system note an alias as a NPC.

5700xp/4 = more than enough to level (and pick identify).

DM Ninja/infinite

Wood, there are five of you.

Eva, Gkirkhan, Que, Vertielle, and you.

After a few more events, everyone should level. I wanted you all to be 2nd before you hit the prison.

If you're in a hurry, though.... ;)

I guess now is a bad time to mention that as a player, I am absolutely paranoid when the GM talks like that. :)

Lemme know if you wanna her about what's happened to two of my PFS characters.

Why not. I can always use more ideas. ;)

It won't be too bad. Most of it is just horrid luck.

Okay, first is Pan. To date she has been killed by a gorilla, cut in two by a fighter power attacking with a greatsword, and nearly killed by another fighter wielding a Ransuer, both of those last two were crits.

Elaina, has had more luck staying alive, but worse luck in general. She has accidently keel-hauled herself after getting a boat unstuck, which got her thrown out of the boat in the first place, crashed the same boat into a dock, been brought from full to 0 hp by a baby snow leopard before the anyone in the party could act, and has triggered a trap that landed her right in front of a ghoul that paralyzed her.

And I can't believe I almost forgot this gem. I had a magus go from full health to negatives in one shot, with a blunted arrow, that did non-lethal damage.

so yeah, surprised Elaina isn't psychotic by now (Pan already is).

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

lol

Sorry, somehow forgot how to count to 5 ;-)

Gkirkhan, don't give our DM ideas, you know, Ninja' s have a sadistic streak.

Well if we wind up on a boat, I'm hoping the person driving doesn't let go of the rudder. That's how we got snagged in the first place.

DM Ninja/infinite

Oh, there are boats in your future...anyone have water breathing?

Okay I will not mention what happened to Pan the one time she needed water breathing potions.

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

I know of worse things, but won't mention them.

DM Ninja/infinite

BTW, I had pm'd Kurik (with no response) and actually considered marking him as an NPC, but soberdwarf never posted the complete character, just the stats.

So it costs 10gp + cost of Identify Scroll and DC16 spellcraft(once per week if failed) to add Identify to my spellbook. With the loan from Que consider this our plan.

Otherwise we can do more research to get more experienced--but I bet Gkirkan is itching for action.

Lvl 1 scrolls are typically 25gp (potions 50gp) if I remember right. So that is 35gp total.

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

How much do you need?
As I still have a good amount of gp

I actually bought a wand of enlarge with my starting money as I found enlarge to be extremely useful at low levels precombat. Enlarging Evangline and Gkirkhan will definitely increase their damage output and reach is always good.

That plus my signature Necronomicon cost 850gp of my starting 900gp.

Gkirkhan's actually wondering why his name's on a tombstone.

Oh, that happens all the time. It just means dark forces are trying to scare you off.

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

Problem is; you only ever need water breathing potions once.
Then you die.

I bet escavating to see what is buried there would be frowned upon.

I have just realized something, The person with lowest Will save is probably the most dangerous in straight combat.
26 points of damage on a crit, and I rolled all 2's on 4d6.

Yes Iron will is on the list of feats to get, right at the top actually. Too bad I have to wait until level 3.

Female Human Ninja 3

Uh oh, the one with the short fuse is also the one with the big kill stick. If this will end well... ;-)

Hmm on the other hand.... *Makes puppy eyes* Will you buy me that magical sword Gkirkhan...pleeeeaaaaase.

Since the acid missed touch AC 14 or hit DR, I think I'll enlarge our melee master. Maybe he can get an AoO with reach.

That's touch? My bad. I thought it was just regular AC. 14 touch does hit.

Evangline, why aren't you channeling?

Oooooooh, 2d8 for damage. Yeah that'll please Gkirkhan.

I like giving Gkirkhan some training at fighting enlarged. It makes some sense that he may not be used to it and a tuneup battle against skeletons is a good time to learn.

I think the best part of enlarge is the reach. Maybe we get Gkirkhan a glaive so he reaches to 15' to 20' enlarged?

Ah, but then we start edging pretty close to a PFS character I have. Maybe a lucerne hammer or perhaps a Bec de Corbin?

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

Meteor hammer, lol.

It's exotic, but, its reach OR double, plus you can pull maneuver with it. (HOW DERR HYU HATECK DAH VEMMIN, HYU COWERLY LOUT!)
