"Vell, vell, vell. Hy tink der iz sum new facez here!"
A tall, muscular half-orc walks in wearing a heavy leather jacket and carrying a chipped, well-used great-sword and a large hammer with ornate carvings.
Hi guys, what's up?
Gkirkhan |
Things are settled I take it.
Expanded Horizons still has your spot open.
Yes they are, mostly anyway. Things at work are starting to pick up, so I think I can only manage 4 games. Sorry, I just couldn't keep up with almost the dozen I had before, not counting the two I was GMing. That said, I don't know if I could get back into my character. I apperciate you holding my slot open, but I think getting someone to replace me might be a better and more fair to the other players.

Any chance of romance for Wood will be gone the moment the cool and goodlooking Gkirkan comes back. The brooding wizard fighting dark secrets is no match for the flashy ale drinking fighter in appeal to the ladies. :-(
but that depends on how the ladies like their men?
Gkirkhan |
Okay, if any one needs a translation, I'll start providing one. Gkirkhan is my attempt at making a Jagermonster in Pathfinder. For those who don't know what that is, please follow this elegantly crafted link to see where the accent comes from, then go give the rest of the comic a read, it's one of the best written and drawn comics on the web.

The trip took longer than I thought it would due to a really bad wreck on US 80. Two west-bound cars lost control and swerved onto the east-bound lane. It looks like both vehicles rolled and one of them was rally bad and it's likely that the driver in that one died. An officer came and told us that they were trying to get traffic flowing again and that this was the worst accident he had seen in a long time. When my mother asked him if anyone had died, he said, "We are still trying to determine that."
The scary thing is that could have been my mother, my sister, and I if we had been two or three minutes quicker on the road to see some family in Georgia. Please keep the families of those involved in your prayers. If you don't believe in God, then just keep them in your thoughts. Death is not an easy thing to deal with. It doesn't get any easier the more you experience. I know there are people in Denver morning right now, and I will keep them in my prayers as well, but I thought that you should know that I am okay and that my family and I are safe.

Enhanced weapons gain DR/their enhancement bonus, +2 per enhancement bonus hardness, and +10 per enhancement bonus hp. Acid bypasses both DR and hardness in this case, but the bonus hp should help mitigate the damage.
Vertielle Siepar |
Weapon and Magic Weapon hit points/ hardness; Description of Hardness & Energy Damage
Hardness: Each object has hardness—a number that represents how well it resists damage. When an object is damaged, subtract its hardness from the damage. Only damage in excess of its hardness is deducted from the object's hit points (see Table: Common Armor, Weapon, and Shield Hardness and Hit Points, Table: Substance Hardness and Hit Points, and Table: Object Hardness and Hit Points)...
Energy Attacks: Energy attacks deal half damage to most objects. Divide the damage by 2 before applying the object's hardness. Some energy types might be particularly effective against certain objects, subject to GM discretion. For example, fire might do full damage against parchment, cloth, and other objects that burn easily. Sonic might do full damage against glass and crystal objects.
I am mistaken about the Acid Damage ignoring hardness in this case; it occurs to me that my group plays with a variant rule that energy damage bypasses hardness of objects it normally does full damage to. (I.E. acid deals full damage to wood, sonic to glass, etc)
Note that the mace, a light metal-hafted weapon; the greatsword, a two-handed blade; and the dagger, a light blade; do not incur ANY damage as their hardness is 10.
Gkirkhan |
Gkirkhan most certainly does not have it, he didn't want anything to do with the damn thing.
Sorry, if that came out a little harsh. Gkirkhan didn't want it, even though he was probably the best one to wield, at least until Rova came along. He's not very bright, and he's seen how Wood is. That would make for a very, very superstitious half-orc as far as these items are concerned.

According to the PRD: [an] incorporeal creature has no physical body. It can be harmed only by other incorporeal creatures, magic weapons or creatures that strike as magic weapons, and spells, spell-like abilities, or supernatural abilities. It is immune to all nonmagical attack forms. Even when hit by spells or magic weapons, it takes only half damage from a corporeal source (except for channel energy). Although it is not a magical attack, holy water can affect incorporeal undead. Corporeal spells and effects that do not cause damage only have a 50% chance of affecting an incorporeal creature. Force spells and effects, such as from a magic missile, affect an incorporeal creature normally.
Summoned creatures are corporeal.
Sneak attack is possible, but at major penalties: he's regarded as non-proficient (-4) and inappropriate sized (-2)and it's a medium weapon.
Vertielle Siepar |
Aye, the ability will go away after it -hits-, so there's that.
I don't see why the inappropriate size should stack with the non-proficiency... Wouldn't a small creature just use an arrow as an improvised short sword, rather than an improvised medium dagger? Besides, I'm fairly certain his other attacks are non-magical, yeah?
Vertielle Siepar |
Improvised Weapons: Sometimes objects not crafted to be weapons nonetheless see use in combat. Because such objects are not designed for this use, any creature that uses an improvised weapon in combat is considered to be nonproficient with it and takes a –4 penalty on attack rolls made with that object. To determine the size category and appropriate damage for an improvised weapon, compare its relative size and damage potential to the weapon list to find a reasonable match. An improvised weapon scores a threat on a natural roll of 20 and deals double damage on a critical hit. An improvised thrown weapon has a range increment of 10 feet...
Arrows: An arrow used as a melee weapon is treated as a light improvised weapon (–4 penalty on attack rolls) and deals damage as a dagger of its size (critical multiplier ×2). Arrows come in a leather quiver that holds 20 arrows.
A medium arrow wielded by a small creature is a one-handed improvised weapon comparable in damage potential to a short spear, or a light improvised weapon comparable to a short sword, in my opinion. In any case, the size difference does not accrue an additional -2 beyond it's improvised status.
Wood the Wizard |
I have been spending money fairly freely.
The Splatterman's spellbook has
comprehend languages
dispel magic*
false life*
gust of wind*
illusory script*
levitate*
mage armor
magic missile
summon monster IV*
The asterisked ones I haven't copied yet and they cost 460gp to transcribe in total. So I was hoping I would have the ability to get the money to do so from this loot split.
This will allow me to use the book as a weapon if we need it.
Wood the Wizard |
I was hoping we sell all the nonmagic stuff below:
1 MW handaxe [306g]
1 (uncursed) MW smith's hammer [51g]
6 MW suits of chainmail [1800g]
6 MW suits of studded leather armor [1050g]
4 MW longswords [1260g]
4 MW heavy maces [1248g]
2 MW heavy crossbows [700g]
120 crossbow bolts [12g]
the Piper's silver flute is now uncursed as well and worth 300 g.
Father Charlatan's collection of silver holy symbols is also uncursed and worth 300g.
My math is 7027 value (we probably sell for half).
Half of this, even split six ways gives me the money I need.
